“I didn’t know! I-I mean… I didn’t hurt her! Wait!”
Tyran held the icepack to his jaw and stared at the wall. What. Was. That? He hadn’t thought much of it. Helping some kid home, a good deed nothing more. A nice little break from normal life, a way to feel like he was doing something good, something worthwhile. The girl had been young, hurt, she had obviously needed help. But was too stubborn or suspicious to admit it. Really though, Tyran should have realized something was up when she calmed at the sight of his Magic. Most people did not find comfort in Noctis Elementalism. But at the time he had just thought it lucky. Thought it might be a sign from the Maker that he was the right person to help her.
“YOU DARE!?! You would hurt her? Hurt a child! MY SISTER! To get to me, to hurt me?”
He hadn’t known. Tyran hadn’t known she was… that the kid had been his sister. Would it have changed things? Sure he and Ghost were enemies. But there was a difference between fighting with a young Elf who was already a seasoned warrior, and hurting that Elf’s kid sister. Tyran would never do that…. Would he? If it meant that much to Ghost? If it could end all of this? It would still be… too much. A line he would never cross. Right? Tyran stared at the wall as the icepack slowly melted. His body was sore, bruised, and bleeding from a dozen cuts.
“I won’t cross that line. You can never make me Tyran Orpheus.”
“Do you even have morals? Lines you won’t cross? I know Ghost does. Do you?”
Ghost was just another Lupine. A much too powerful family trampling everything and everyone in their path. He was a monster from a long legacy of monsters that needed to be stopped. Permanently.
Ghost had never threatened anyone Tyran cared about. He had never even threatened Tyran.
Ghost had a little sister that he cared about. That he loved so much he had almost killed Tyran when he thought that Tyran had hurt her.
Ghost had never fought so hard before. Never shown that much power before. He hasn’t been trying to kill me. This whole time I thought we were both trying our very best. I thought we were equally matched. And he… he’s been playingnice. Tyran slumped with the realization. He had barely gotten away. Ghost had… Ghost had almost killed him. And Tyran… Tyran couldn’t stop him. If the kid- if Ghost’s little sister hadn’t- if she hadn’t stopped Ghost, Tyran would have died. Ghost would have killed Tyran.
What sort of monster did I start a fight with? Tyran shuddered slightly. The memory of Ghost’s face, twisted into rage and pure anger, flashed in his mind. They… they should probably move base. Ghost knew they were close now. And he was angry, he might come after them. After Tyran.
You called him a monster. Why are you surprised when he acts like one?

Anyone who knows my kids, knows that these 2 rarely ever get along. Most of the time, the saying goes "they are usually up to no good when they are quiet." Surprisingly, this was not the case. #siblings #13monthsapart #lanamarie #jacobyscott #ipads #playingnicely #learningtogether #cambodian #pomo #mixedbabies https://www.instagram.com/p/B0MvZqYlNOP__o_93lbt_M0DF7f7TWqGxwM7pI0/?igshid=1w3g2yhrleqh5

Playing Nice is the next thriller from JP Delaney. “What happens when you find out your son actually belongs to someone else - he and another boy were switched at the hospital. And now your son’s biological father is at your door wanting to spend time with his real son. And you let him. But maybe he has a different agenda he’s not sharing yet. What will you do to protect your family?” This book has a very slow heginning. But stick with it. Once you see what Miles is capable of, you’ll want to cheer on Pete. But mostly you’ll yell at him for being so trusting. Delaney puts Lucy, Pete and Maddie in some tough spots and makes you wonder what will happen to the two boys. I did not expect that ending. Delaney writes controlling, psychopathic characters - the ones you love to hate. But then he shows us what we’ll do when pushed too far. Another good story from Delaney. Good choice if you’re looking for a slow burn with a crazy ending. Thanks to @netgalley and @randomhouse for the arc. Couple of hours work written off by a technical mis-step. Maybe we should make a print of it available in the Institute gift shop for €499. Also, recalibrated the screens in the effects suite, revealing that the past three months work have effectively been done 'in the dark'. Nobody is taking risks in the movie game like we are. The Curse of the Phantom Tympanum is still on course for an autumn premiere. Not committing to a specific year though. #AfterEffects #Hell #Super8 #playingnicely

Playing Nice
A Few Suggestions for Gaming Etiquette
No, it isn't Ms. Manners to the rescue, nor is it Polite Polly knocking at your noggin. We just know how easy it is to get frustrated or even angry while playing a difficult game, but if we're not careful, that anger and frustration could lead to some butt-ugly moments during a time that's supposed to be amusing. The following is offered in an effort to keep everything fun and entertaining during a session of group play.
1. Encourage each other. Even if you're competing with each other in a boxing match or car race, take time out to congratulate another player for making a smooth or cunning move. There's no need to be a kiss-up, but when tensions are high, and the desire to impress is high, you can help relax any stress just by throwing out a few compliments here and there.
2. Be patient. Your gaming comrades may not be as fast, as coordinated, or as smart as you. So when you notice your regular game pace slowing down, don't criticize. You could quietly plan your next move or you could offer to help if you notice that your buddies seem lost. This will encourage cooperation and relive some of the stress involved with playing a difficult game.
3. Take some breaks. Permitting that your group finds appropriate places in a game to pause, take advantage and get up to stretch, snack, use the john, talk about school, or catch a few silly commercials on television. A long stretch of game play is tiring and stressful at the same time.
4. Play an inclusive game. By that we mean to make efforts to ensure everyone in the group contributes to the game's completion. You never want to make another person feel left out or just hanging around to fill the space. Create opportunities for everyone involved to participate and help play.
5. Listen to others. You may think that you know all the answers about a game or game system, but listen to what others in the group have to say. You just might learn something new.
6. Invite the "weird guy." This bit of advice of course comes after the horrid Virginia Tech massacre. Tales circulating this news event indicate that the young man responsible was a loner and the victim of bullying during his teenage years as well. Sometimes, all it takes to prevent things like this is a simple effort to reach out to someone. We're not suggesting that an invitation to a gaming party would have saved the lives of 33+ college students, but we are suggesting that making an effort to make others feel welcome and wanted is a huge step towards eliminating the isolation known to cause these kinds of senseless acts.
7. Vow to keep the voice level and cursing to a minimum. That almost goes without saying, but to prevent arguments, agree beforehand to not cross the line when it comes to debating about a particular strategy or selecting a game to play. Some of the most serious fights stem from the silliest arguments. But you can prevent a flare up within your group just by maintaining a cool composure during the entire session.
Now see? That's not too bad a list. All the things that we suggested are certainly "do-able" and they really do work to create a calm and enjoyable environment.
