Choice male character who ‘face systemic oppression due to their disadvantaged background’ and how this shapes them as a character on a scale of ‘wanting to create a better world for those like them and change the system’ to ‘leads them to becoming more self-serving and engaging in illegal activities either because they desire the power which was not granted to them or because their upbringing as shaped them to believe they can only look out for themselves’

It is a very confusing scale but you see the vision….

Struggled slightly between Jack and Jax but decided that Jax never actually goes too far, while Jack is a terrorist does

Mal is right in the middle as at the start he is a thief who only looks out for himself. But I’d still say he’s morally good and has never actually toed that line. He’s not a revolutionary per se, though as he doesn’t challenge or reshape the system as himself, though of course follows and works with those who do and does smaller but no less significant actions like running the orphanage to keep the children from being taken in by the Thieves’ Guild like he was (and of course he is critical of the system since the start having been a victim of it like the other characters)

Main struggle was between Logan and Colt. Desperately need to replay RoD too, but Logan is more self-serving, believing he can only look out for himself instead of putting trust in others (until MC although they both go off on their own ways anyway by the end).

Colt is…. Colt. He’s desperate to prove himself and we see his ruthlessness, drive and hunger for power more and more as the book progresses. And from what we know of the scrapped RoD sequel, he’s well on his way of achieving his goals if he hasn’t already

I decided Colt won though

LISTEN LISTEN, I know we’re all sad and disappointed at Mal’s reunion. BUT we need to talk about how this man did whatever he could to keep the memory of MC close to him when they were gone.

Lord Wesley of RIVERBEND????? Mal claiming to be from MC’s hometown?? People died, I am people.

Him telling stories about MC to his kids????????

Building the orphanage when MC disappeared because he needed a purpose?? And the one he picks is the one he wanted to achieve, WITH MC. (for my fellow Mal-romancers out there)

I know we were all expected a big, dramatic reunion, but I honestly think this one was pretty good too. I think the emotions we were hoping for was THERE, it was just subtler.

This is very detailed (there are more screenshota to come) and I stand by my theory that Luke leaving the leadwriter role was why RoD2 got scrapped because there is a lot of detail in this.
