7月24-25號: Hurricane days!!
Day 13:
So today we gained a new guest that will join us breifly on our trip, but make a huge impact. Typhoon Gaemi decided to waddle on through Taiwan. We are all safe and sound in our hotel but we will be staying here an extra day. I am not mad at it. I having an extra day in a hotel that is literally a hotspring. It is a pretty decent situation to be in. Although now we will miss a whole city that we were supposed to experience on this trip. But today I started off slow. I had breakfast and went on a run. It was so hot inside the hotel because they turned some of the power off. But I still ran on the treadmill and struggled to get to 3 miles. I ran at about a 8:15 pace which was pretty good because I haven't ran in a while. Then I thought I would go to the cold spring to cool down my muscles and help recovery like an icebath would, but the outside was closed so I could only go to the inside spring which was not as cold. Andy ended up joining me and we got to talk for a while, but then we both left.
I went out to try KFC in the rain and let me tell you, it was NOT worth it. India KFC is SO much better. After that all the boys met up and we played some cards together. It was so fun. Austin taught us a new game called Cambio. It's really fun and really competitive. After playing some cards, we all met up with the rest of the group and tried to go get mcdonalds for everyone. Me and the boys ended up walking almost a mile to arrive at mcdonalds and find out that it's closed. So we then walked back, and stopped by 7-eleven to pick up food for everyone. Then we all got to talk together and eat our food. After I finished my food, I left and went to bed. I felt like i really took care of myself and did something good for my body by running and then relaxing the rest of the day.
Day 14:
Today was another relaxing day where I really got to focus on myself and take care of myself in the morning. I woke up and had breakfast which consisted of the normal rice, pastries, watermelon, and braised beef. Then, after a bit, I thought it good to go down back to the springs and do some rehab. So, I did some exercises in the water for my leg and also stretched a lot. I am feeling somewhat better, but my knee is still injured. Very much debating on getting surgery when I get back to America. But after my PT session, I went with Austin, Jack, and Jacob to get our feet kissed. Pause. Feet kissed by fish of course. We got to experience a little bit of culture and stick our feet into a tub of fish that would eat the dead skin off of our feet. It was actually the funniest thing ever. We were all laughing so hard because it felt so weird and it tickled. There were SO many of the little fishies in there as well. Then we met back up with Andy after getting some more of our favorite snack/breakfast, Scallion Pancakes. They are DELICIOUS! After the pancakes, Austin found some poker chips so we could play poker. I was so excited! I love card games. Before poker we all went out for dinner which was pretty good. Then from about 9:30 to 12am we played poker and Cambio. It was a great night and a great day. The next thing to do on the list was pack for our long travel day for tommorow.
Until next time, 再見!

Note: Since the next three chapters are very long and I don't want to keep you waiting forever, I decided to split them up into 2-3 parts. Thank you for your patience, I'm super excited to deliver the rest of this short novel!
Manhattan Island is located at the mouth of the Hudson river. It is four kilometers in width, twenty kilometers in length, a sandbank elongated in a north-south direction. Navigator Henry Hudson discovered it in 1609 and it is said that the Dutch East India Company purchased it from Native Americans for 24 dollars in 1626. Its name Manhattan translates to „the island of many hills” in their language.
The morning after my arrival, the air is still clouded by yellow. White steam rises from the gutters all over. I buy a toasted sandwich at a corner store to eat. Crispy bacon and fresh lettuce are held between fragnant bread.
I take the subway on my way to the city center to participate in the „stray dog hunt”. Passing ticket control and ascending the stairs, I find myself in a desolate place. It is a district with empty bear cans lying around and closed shutters of shops bearing graffiti. On one side stands a brick building, the ground floor offices of which belong to a company specializing in pest extermination.
Its name is Reliable Pest Control Services, or RPCS for short. In addition to pest control, they undertake everything from vermin extermination and cleaning up buildings to waste management. At this time, the Speedwagon Foundation has contacted the manager, requesting their help capturing Iggy in exchange for financial support.
As I state the purpose of my visit at the reception desk, a large, middle-aged Spaniard shows up. His stern face looks like it was carved from stone, and three vertical lines run down across his right eye – they seem to be claw marks.
„You’re Avdol, right? The chief told me about you. So you wanna catch that damn Boston Terrier?”
„My American friend has entrusted me with this request.”
„I’ll let you watch, just make sure you’re not bothering us!”
„All right. For now, I would like to study your work. I won’t intervene or disturb you, I’ll just watch from a distance.”
„Admirable attitude, Egyptian.”
The Spaniard leads me inside the office. It is like a labyrinth of miscellaneous packages piled up on top of each other with desks, blackboards, a billiard table, a darts board and empty liquor bottles in the gaps between them. On an old sofa set, four men are gathered, exhaling cigarette smoke and playing poker.
„These guys are my team,” introduces them the Spaniard. The men put down their cards, turning their gazes to me, as if to observe me. They all have vulgar faces. One of them clicks his tongue, putting out the cigarette he’s been smoking on an ashtray. He is a large, white man resembling a rugby player.
„So you’re the Foundation’s buddy? The chief told us if we keep an eye out for you the Speedwagon Foundation would pay us a nice sum. But y’know, this is a lot of extra work for us.”
„I will not bother you. All I wish is to stand by and watch your work from a distance, to see how the dog could be captured. I don’t believe that would increase your work at all.”
„You coming with us means you’ll be taking up a seat in the car. We’ll have to take less equipment like that!”
They are going to drive to Manhattan Island in two cars, one of them a van equipped with dog cages. The space in the vehicles is crammed with all sorts of nets and traps, tranquilizer guns and such. It appears that with my participation, they can load a lot less into the cars. The Spaniard tries to calm down the man.
„Hey, don’t say that. It’s not like animal traps are any good against that Boston Terrier, we’d be bringing them for nothing.” He pulled me away from the men. „They’re just pissed because that shitty dog got the best of them.”
„What do you mean by animal traps?”
„Cages you can’t leave once you’re caught in them, like bear traps. You know bear traps, right? Like the Gustave Courbet painting, „Fox caught in a trap”? The iron trap that the fox’s leg is stuck in. But no such trap can catch that Boston Terrier, they were useless even with his favourite coffee chewing gum inside. I don’t know how but he just ran away with the chewing gum, without triggering the trap.”
A map hangs on the wall, the places where Iggy have been spotted marked on it. He has been seen all over Manhattan. Wall Street, Times Square, he even seems to be frequenting the ferry to Liberty Island with the Statue of Liberty.
„I made some posters with his image and put them up all over Manhattan. I wrote on it that we’ll reward anyone that has any news, so we got some information from the citizens.”
He shows me an actual poster. Drawn on it is a foolish image of a Boston Terrier, drool dripping from his mouth.
„The claw marks on your face, was that also him?”
„A while ago we tried strike him down when he was taking a nap. We got a report and when we rushed there, he was basking in the sun, snoring like hell. I decided to shoot him with a tranquilizer gun from a distance. As I pointed the gun at him and aimed, he woke up but didn’t try to run away. He saw us and yawned without a care in the world. I pulled the trigger and a tranquilizer dart shot out. My aim was sure, no doubt about it.”
However, the dart didn’t hit its target. It flipped midair in front of the Boston Terrier, just as if it was being blocked by something invisible.
„I dunno why. Maybe it was a faulty dart, it changed its direction in the middle of its track. We had to try and catch him with a net, but that damn dog jumped up and scratched my face. He tore out some of my hair and farted once before escaping us. It’s a mystery what he ate that made him fart like that but it was putrid.”
I’m thinking about the invisible thing that was said to have deflected the tranquilizer dart. There was no way the dart was faulty. They couldn’t see it. Something invisible was present before Iggy and it protected him. I have a pretty good idea what that mysterious something could have been.
A bell’s sound echoes in the RPCS office. The staff member from the reception desk at the front entrance calls out to us. The men playing poker stand, leaving the room running.
„Where are you going?”
„The locker room. We’re changing into work clothes and leaving. Tha bell only rings when we get news of someone seeing that damn Boston Terrier. If we don’t hurry, he’ll get away!”
In a matter of minutes, they all finish changing into grey work clothes, getting inside both cars in the garage. I myself accompany them, getting inside the van carrying the cages. The van is driven by a slim, young Black man. The Spaniard sits in the passenger’s seat and I take my place behind them.
„The phone call came from someone living near the Harlem River, they saw that shitty Boston Terrier stealing chewing gum” says the Spaniard, folding out a map to check the route. The two cars take off, rushing towards the area facing Harlem River.
Inside the hurling car, I am debating whether I should tell the man with the strict face sitting before me that the Boston Terrier actually has a name. In the end, I decide not to do so. They wouldn’t care too much for what the dog’s name is anyway.
***
The north-eastern parts of Manhattan are mostly inhabited by immigrants. Most of the people passing us by are Puerto Rican or Mexican, the majority of the conversations I overhear are in Spanish. Many brown mansions stand by the riverside. The city of New York built these for low income citizens and they refer to them as a „project”. There are nearly 2900 of these „projects” in New York City, with roughly 420,000 people inhabiting them. Some apartments are used for drug trafficking, they are a hotbed for crime.
The stray dog hunting team gets out of the vehicles parking on the roadside and sets out looking around the neighborhood. I decide to stick with the Spaniard. First of all, he wants to meet and talk to the person reporting the dog.
The Spaniard approaches a young man of Latin American descent standing by a payphone on a street corner. He smells like marijuana.
„You’re the guys looking for the Boston Terrier, right?”
„Yeah. Can you tell us what you saw?”
„It was just now, like thirty minutes ago. A weird dog came out of that supermarket over there, it was eating something. The store clerk ran after it but it got away. It was black and white. I thought it was a French Bulldog but it had a slim body so I figured it was a Boston Terrier. I called the number from a poster when I saw that.”
The young man rubs his index finger and thumb together in a gesture of requesting his reward. The Spaniard hands him a couple of bank notes but he doesn’t seem impressed.
„Hey, this isn’t even enough for a beer!”
„If you have more info, I’ll give you more.”
The Spaniard sends the young man away and sets off in the direction of said supermarket. It is a small store standing in a dirty, graffiti-covered alleyway. I call it a supermarket but it is nothing more than a private business, with colourful vegetables on its racks that look fresh and delicious. The store clerk, a fat Black woman, is standing there with a troubled look on her face. The Spaniard calls out to her.
„We heard a Boston Terrier stole some of your merchandise, is that true?”
„Yeah, just look at this!” she beckons. The Spaniard’s work clothes have the logo of his company embroidered, she must know he’s an expert of vermin extermination. Right as we step inside the supermarket we find a candy shelf. The goods have been stolen from it and the empty shelf is sticky with a clear liquid dripping off of it. „It’s just like ’Alien’, isn’t it? The movie. Have you seen it? The monster was drooling just like this.”
The store clerk furrows her brows. The Spaniard takes out a ballpoint pen from his chest pocket, picking up some of the liquid with its end and examining its viscosity and smell.
„It’s drool. Those shelves had coffee flavour chewing gum on them, am I right?”
„Exactly! A small black and white dog devoured it right here. I tried to catch it but it picked up the entire box and ran off. I reported it to the police as well, just in case, but I’m surprised to see that you guys showed up! Then again, there’s so much crime on these streets, the police must be very busy.”
Leaving the store, the Spaniard gets in touch with his men. Each of them carries a transceiver, making it possible to exchange information between each other so long as they are within a couple kilometers radius.
I decide to investigate our surroundings as well. I move through dirty alleyways scattered with trash, looking for a Boston Terrier.
The wind carries the stench of alcohol and urine. It is probably drunks standing in the alleys and taking a piss. A row of cars stand parking on the roadside. It is a lonely street with no people or cars passing by.
Someone from our team is questioning a vagrant, holding the handle of a large net. It is the white man that complained to me in the office and reminded me of a rugby player. It seems like his work clothes were about to burst with his muscles.
„Didn’t you see a dog around here? A small, black and white one. It has a short snout and it farts a lot.”
The vagrant our rugby player is looking down to is an elderly man, leaning back onto a building’s wall as he’s sitting on the ground. He put down a piece of cardboard to make his sitting place more comfortable. His mouth seems to be mumbling something in response to the rugby player’s question, however he can’t form his words properly, having lost all his teeth.
„There... right there...” The vagrant’s words come in fragments. He points a finger at the wall right across the street. I turn to the rugby player.
„I believe this old man is pointing us to around there.”
The rugby player glances at me, turning his gaze to where the vagrant is pointing.
„There’s nothin’ there. Nothin’ strange. Not a Boston Terrier, not a place where a small dog could hide.”
„But this old man is trying to bring our attention to something.”
On the other side of the line of parking cars is nothing but old brick buildings, lined up without so much as a crevice between them. The vagrant is pointing at one of those walls.
The rugby player shakes his head.
„That’s just a wall. We asked the wrong guy. Maybe he’s hallucinating!”
The vagrant, however, keeps on murmuring.
„...weird... how...? It’s gone... I don’t...”
I decide to walk across to the other side of the road.
„Hey, Egyptian! Don’t just do whatever you like! Come back here!” I hear the rugby player’s voice but I ignore him.
I approach the wall the vagrant is pointing to, and trailed a finger along it. Its surface is just slightly damp, but also coarse. It is probably the speckles of sand dancing in the wind that stick to it.
„Hey! Egyptian!”
An odd sense of discomfort comes over me. My finger tracing the wall gets caught in the corner of a brick, which then quickly crumbles. As I try to apply some force, my hand sinks into the brick wall.
„H-hey... what’s that?!”
What we thought to be a brick wall crumbles into sand. It collects into large heaps under my feet and a small alleyway appears on its other side. It looks like there isn’t a crevice between the buildings but in reality, they aren’t stuck together at all. It simply appeared so because the sand’s fine imitation made it look like they were lined up continuously. The vagrant likely found it odd that the alleyway that was supposed to be there disappeared, and tried to bring it to our attention.
Sand speckles dance around me from the collapse. When my vision clears, I realize something is hiding in the dim depths of the alleyway. It is small, small enough for me told hold in my hands.
He is chewing on something very, very loudly. He must have been hiding himself right here all along, creating a fake wall with sand.
„Is that you, Iggy?”
The moment I call his name, the chewing noises stop.
A pair of eyes appears in the dim light. I see the whites of them clearly. Apparently he still remembers his name being ’Iggy’. His self-awareness has him reacting to me calling his name.
Someone grabs my shoulder from behind with great force. It is the rugby player.
„Hey, hey, hey! There he is! I thought it was sand dancing, but there’s a street there now? Looks like a dead end, so I guess he’s got no choice but to come over here, huh?” He fixes the net in his hands and takes off in the alley’s direction.
„Hey, wait!”
In response to the rugby player approaching him, he gets up on his four legs in the dark. His form is that of a small dog’s, but something is manifesting behind him.
The speckles of sand in the alley rise up, defying gravity, gathering in one place, taking shape seemingly too big to even fit the narrow alleyway behind the dog.
However, the rugby player doesn’t see it. It is a projection of life energy that regular people are unable to detect. Before his eyes, there is nothing but a single small dog.
He charges towards Iggy with his net. The giant behind Iggy moves, picking him up and jumping, scattering sand as it tramples the rugby player. The moment he hits the ground, it rushes out of the narrow alley. Its large body leaps over the line of parking cars with ease.
As it appears in a vast and well-lit place, I can take a good look at it in its entirety. The giant holding Iggy has the appearance of a dog with wheels. Its two front legs are dog-like, but its hind legs are missing, sporting car wheels in their place. On its head it wears feathers resembling Native American ornaments. It is a form blending machinery and organic life, scattering speckles of sand from its entire body.
A Stand. That is what I and my American friend referred as to such entities. Something standing by one’s side like a guardian. This must be the reason behind the odd sand related episodes happening around Iggy.
Stands do not possess a physical body. It is more like Iggy’s guardian. Some would call it a visualization of his psychic powers, others might even claim it as an evil spirit.
Iggy exchanges a glance with me, carried by his own Stand, then turns away as if he’s lost interest in me already. His Stand that leapt over cars so easily rotates its wheels, dashing away on the streets.
The rugby player stands up from where he fell on the ground and calls for assistance with his transceiver.
„He-he’s here! The Boston Terrier! Come right away!” He tries to chase after Iggy instantly, but he fails. The huge mass of sand that until just now has been forming a wall is now covering the ground. Before I could have noticed, it all centered on me. The sand swallows me up to the knee and firmly hardens. Without a doubt this is Iggy’s doing. Pulling as hard as I can, I free my legs but he has already disappeared behind a corner.
„Shit... don’t let him get away!”
The rugby player runs off, and I follow him.

Asking about Sparrow! From the post that you reblog about asking your OCs? Number 2 and 9 or one of these two. However you wanted to answer!😊
Hi! Love!! 🧡🧡
Ok let's start!
2. What is their dream vacation?
It wouldn't be a surprise that their dream vacation is going to the mountains hahahaha! Probably climb a big mountain in Nepal or India with her closest friends, and her girlfriend. But she knows that Amara wouldn't climb a mountain even if they paid her, going for a hike maybe, but actual climbing? NUH UH. So maybe if her dream vacation with Amara would be visiting different cities from around the world, mostly cities that are really far away from home with a very different culture than hers, like Kathmandu, Bangladesh, Jakarta... Just to keep the adventure spirit.
9. Are they a liar? Are they good at lying?
It depends. Does her life depend on that lie? Yes. She's the best fucking liar, she could be hired by the fucking CIA. She would keep a stoic face, play it like a poker game, and she would come up with the best lie. But when she has to do it casually... Nah. She's awful. For example maybe if she has to lie to Amara because she's hiding a surprise for her, she would get caught on the spot.
Amara: "Han, did you prepare something for our anniversary?"
Sparrow: "......" *Sweats* "...no...? Anniversary? What anniversary are you talking about? NUH uh are you even my girlfriend? Who are you?"
Amara: ".... Ok honey..."

I'd love to know more about "palutena trap (kid icarus meets the parent trap)"
Ok so I just answered an ask about this with a bit about the inspiration and approach I'm taking to this fic so this one I'm going to list some of my favorite plot points in no particular order:
This is a "modern au" so everyone has normal jobs, such as:
Investigative journalist who lives on a houseboat
Mob boss
Lead singer for a punk band which is actually a front for an eco-terrorist group
Karate sensei
Drag racer
Ex-MI6 butler
California surfer bro
Dark Pit, given the option refers to himself exclusively as "The Dark Falcon of Vengeance" or similar because I couldn't stretch my suspension of disbelief enough to call him Dark or to give him a different name entirely (much as I love @stonemaskedtaliesin's Pip, it just doesn't fit in the context I'm going with)
Dark Pit's actual name in this is Pit Pairisetti, and Pit's name is Pit Pasupati. Dark Pit's name is a more alliterative romanization of Bairisetty, a Telugu surname which means something like "falcon," which I thought was appropriate. Pasupati is a Hindi surname which was mostly picked because I liked the way it sounded and wanted both of their surnames to start with the same letter, giving the camp counselors an excuse to call them Dark Pit and Light Pit instead of just using their last initials.
Pit is going to mostly accidentally steal a team of horses from Hades as part of an escape when he's doing something with the Forces of Nature as the analog to the canonical Lightning Chariot. It will be glorious.
There is a Sonic expy who will never appear on-screen who is Phosphora's greatest nemesis (and possibly ending scene implied love interest, depends on if I think of anything funnier)
The background ship is past Palutena/Medusa and I haven't yet decided how much reconciliation they will do. Less than in The Parent Trap, for sure, but maybe more than I originally planned.
Medusa and Dark Pit know all the sorry details about their breakup, but Palutena never explained it to Pit
Despite their incredible athletic skills, both Pits sink like a rock in water.
As you might have gathered from their names, I am making Palutena and Medusa Indian, specifically from Northern India and Southern India, respectively. This is mostly because I can and encouraged by the fact that there's a species of parakeets from India that have naturalized to Greece. I'm pretty sure they're the ones from the tumblr poem about unmannerly peas, which is one of my all time favorites, so even better.
They met in Hyderabad and decided to marry each other instead of waiting around for whatever arranged marriage their families had planned for them. This is also why neither of them can go home because they would literally rather die than hear their aunt sigh and go "this is why blah blah blah."
They won the houseboat from Poseidon in a poker game. Palutena played the cards, Medusa helped her cheat.
The divorce was really ugly. Like, dragged through all the tabloids levels of ugly. Pit doesn't know about it because all of his electronics have parental controls about that specifically. It ruined Medusa's PI firm, which is why she now works for the mob boss.
This is why Pit just knows about the bad things Medusa has done (there was a REASON the divorce was ugly and it was not all Palutena's fault) but Dark Pit knows about things that Palutena said about him, specifically.
The Pits spend some time at camp bonding in the counselors-only Jacuzzi, and possibly over a camp play. Can't decide how much Addams Family Values I want to throw in.
Hades has eaten human hearts before, but prefers Amazon River Dolphin. He says the stench of evil ruins the taste.
Despite all the plot I have planned out (this is going to be so much longer than TFP) I feel like I have so much less of it planned out than TFP (which, to be fair, is a murder mystery). It's always a big shift to jump from one to the other, and it's going to be even more of a shift once I finish TFP and start editing and posting in earnest, but I'm looking forward to trying a different style of editing when I get there!
#I love all of the absolutely wild plot in this one it's my favorite thing#palutena trap#my writing#eriquin#kid icarus

Hateration holleration, oddball selections:
MOTHERS' INSTINCT (2024): Peculiar drama-cum-thriller, set in 1960, starring Jessica Chastain and Anne Hathaway as suburban neighbors Alice and Celine, whose friendship is disrupted when Celine's young son Max (Baylen D. Bielitz) is killed in an accident. Afterward, Celine becomes unusually attached to Alice's son Theo (Eamon O'Connell), who was Max's best friend, which begins to make Alice very nervous. Does Celine mean Theo harm, or is Alice's guilt (she was watching Max at the time of his accident) making her paranoid? The way the plot plays out offers little tension and few surprises — it feels a little twist-deficient as a thriller, attempting to compensate with a surprisingly dark finale — and it doesn't offer a lot of motive for the eventual drastic escalations beyond "sometimes motherhood makes women crazy." Also, while one can see why Chastain and Hathaway were interested in these parts as actors, they both seem a little too old for their characters, and Anders Anielsen Lie and Josh Charles are both wasted as their respective husbands. CONTAINS LESBIANS? Early on, it seems like there's something between Alice and Celine, but the movie isn't interested in exploring or even acknowledging that. VERDICT: Grim and gloomy, but never very exciting, and it keeps flirting with the idea of making some kind of point about the sexual politics of its time that never gels.
THE POKER HOUSE (2008): Lori Petty made her directorial debut with this semi-autobiographical drama, scripted by David Alan Grier from Petty's story about an eventful and upsetting day in the life of a 14-year-old girl named Agnes (Jennifer Lawrence), growing up dirt poor in a rough, mostly Black neighborhood, where her mother Sarah (Selma Blair) turns tricks when her boyfriend/pimp Duval (Bokeem Woodbine) isn't running illegal poker games, leaving Agnes in loco parentis for her younger sisters (Chloë Grace Moretz and Sophi Bairley), who hang out at the local bar while Agnes is at school. The story takes some dark turns — it centers on Agnes being sexually assaulted by Duval — but because it's based on Petty's own life, it's never indulgently sordid, and, with the notable exception of Sarah, it has a lot of compassion for the people in Agnes' neighborhood, who are doing the best they can with almost nothing to work with. As a result, the film is heartfelt if not particularly polished. (Curiously, it was produced by prolific TV writer-producer Stephen J. Cannell, best known for detective and action shows including THE ROCKFORD FILES, THE A-TEAM, HUNTER, and SILK STALKINGS, with a score by TV perennial Mike Post.) CONTAINS LESBIANS? Nope. VERDICT: If you like Lori Petty and can handle the subject matter (CWs apply for sexual violence), it's worth a look.
THE RAINBOW (1989): Earnest but somewhat awkward Ken Russell dramatization of the last section of the 1915 D.H. Lawrence novel, set around the end of the 19th century, about a young woman from Derbyshire, Ursula Brangwen (Sammi Davis), who has affairs with both her swimming instructor Winifred (Amanda Donohue) and a young soldier named Anton (Paul McGann), while striving for financial, intellectual, and romantic freedom that her era doesn't offer or encourage, especially for women. It's sort of a prequel to Russell's 1969 adaptation of Lawrence's WOMEN IN LOVE, which follows Ursula and her sister Gudrun 20 years later. I have not read either novel, so I can't say how Russell's versions compare, but taken strictly on its own terms, THE RAINBOW feels like something director Stephanie Rothman might have made for Roger Corman in the '70s, with dollops of Second Wave feminist idealism in what often plays like an exploitation movie. The uneasiness of that mixture leaves no space to interrogate some troubling aspects of the plot, like Ursula's racist ideas about moving to India with Anton, or her violent outburst at a student in the school where she becomes a teacher. CONTAINS LESBIANS? Ursula is bisexual, and part of the plot deals with her relationship with Winifred. VERDICT: At the risk of undermining my literary bona fides, I thought it worked far better as an exploitation movie than a feminist drama.

Entry #1
As my tumblr title suggests, I am starting this as way to hopefully hold myself accountable. There are a bunch of hobbies, skills, and activities I want to improve at, topics I want to learn about, and things I've always wanted to try but have never gotten around to. Lately I've been having this existential panic that I'm running out of time to give them a go, so I feel like I need to be more methodical in pursuing them. I am getting on ADHD meds soon which I think will be helpful in this pursuit, but I feel like giving myself an outlet to write about these things may prove helpful in keeping myself accountable to them. Maybe I can aim to do one entry a week, each centered around one of these areas and how I have been implementing it in my life/working on it/learning about it, etc etc. I should probably develop a stricter system so I don't fall out of the habit like I am typically prone to doing... whatever, for now I will just list them out and I can aim to do one a week to focus on. Maybe I will sticky this post, if you can do that on tumblr, so that I see these activities often. Things I want to improve at -Cooking -Taking initiative in getting to know others, plan things, etc -Speaking clearly and intentionally -Frisbee -Confidence -Basketball -Consistent cleanliness -Charisma -Style, grooming -Getting up early and developing a routine -Write about content I consume - force myself to consider it beyond just consumption -Going for walks frequently, touching grass -Writing more in Notion? I guess just journaling more consistently in general regardless of medium -Music production -Piano -Chess -Card games -Film photography -Manners -Eating more frequently -Being good with kids -Trivia/knowledge for the sake of knowledge -Duolingo/Anki consistent practice
Things I want to learn about -Astrophysics -Geography -Starting a business -India -Weather/meteorology -Plants -The economy -Cinema -Community building -Poker, blackjack, card games generally -Rap music -EDM -Different political theory -Asia -AI -Religion -Bridge, mahjjong -Agriculture -Alcoholic processes, types of alcohol
Things I want to try -Learning to make drinks -Pulling espresso shots -Unicycling -Wheelying -Actually gardening -Networking with professionals whose careers interest me -Talking with strangers more -Rollerskating -Engineering (what are good hobbies for engineers?) -Data analysis -Programming -Making an app -Driving a manual -Changing my own oil -Magic tricks -Making videos (maybe of bike tours) -Writing -Get on Jeopardy -Skateboarding -Scootering -Fishing/fly fishing -starting a business
I've kind of arbitrarily told myself that learning about something/at least getting the gist of something would entail of doing three of theses four things over the course of a week: -Reading a book about it -Watching a documentary, or 1+hrs of video/discussion of it -Trying it out if applicable -Reaching out to someone I know who knows more about it
We'll see how closely I follow that guideline. I guess I will start this week? Maybe my first one can be.... Piano. I will start playing the interstellar song and also look into developing a practice routine. By the end of the week my goal can be to have developed a workable day-to-day practice routine that takes 30-45 min, and maybe I can play a page of the Interstellar song...

Dragon Tiger in Teen Patti: Rules, Tips, and Winning Strategies
Teen Patti, one of India’s most beloved card games, continues to evolve with exciting new variations that engage players and bring fresh strategies to the table. Among these variations is the Dragon Tiger version, a simplified yet thrilling twist that combines the fundamentals of Teen Patti with a streamlined gameplay experience inspired by Dragon Tiger. This article dives into the rules of Dragon Tiger in Teen Patti, useful tips, and effective strategies to increase your chances of winning.
What is Dragon Tiger in Teen Patti?
Dragon Tiger in Teen Patti is a fusion of two popular card games: Teen Patti, which is often compared to poker, and Dragon Tiger, a fast-paced game that originated in Asia and is similar to baccarat. In traditional Dragon Tiger, players place bets on which card—Dragon or Tiger—will be higher. The Teen Patti Dragon Tiger variant simplifies the gameplay by focusing on high-speed rounds, making it perfect for players who enjoy quick decision-making and minimal rules.
Rules of Dragon Tiger in Teen Patti
Dragon Tiger in Teen Patti is a straightforward game that is easy to learn and quick to play. Here’s how it works:
Deck and Setup:
The game is typically played with a standard 52-card deck, excluding jokers.
Cards are ranked in the traditional order, with Ace being the lowest and King the highest.
Gameplay Basics:
Two spots are available for players to place bets: Dragon and Tiger.
Each spot (Dragon and Tiger) represents one card. The dealer deals one card to each spot—one for Dragon and one for Tiger.
Betting:
Before the cards are dealt, players place their bets on whether the Dragon card or the Tiger card will be higher.
Some variations also allow side bets, such as predicting a tie or a specific suit.
Outcome:
After bets are placed, the dealer reveals the Dragon and Tiger cards.
The spot with the higher card wins. If both cards are of equal rank, it results in a tie.
Payouts depend on the type of bet placed, with typical odds varying depending on the platform.
Payouts:
Standard bets on Dragon or Tiger typically have a 1:1 payout.
In case of a tie, the payout can range from 8:1 to 11:1, but some versions may take a commission on tie bets.
Tips for Playing Dragon Tiger in Teen Patti
While Dragon Tiger may seem simple, a few strategic insights can help improve your chances of winning:
Understand the Odds:
The odds are nearly even between Dragon and Tiger, meaning that every card draw is essentially a 50/50 chance.
Avoid chasing outcomes. Each round is independent, so past results won’t influence the next game’s outcome.
Consider the Tie Bet Carefully:
While the tie bet offers a high payout, the probability of both cards being equal is relatively low.
Unless you are comfortable with the risk, limit the number of tie bets you place to manage your bankroll better.
Observe Patterns:
Some players like to look for patterns in the card sequences, although there’s no concrete way to predict outcomes. Watching for trends (like several consecutive wins on one side) may help you decide when to shift your bets.
Bankroll Management:
Since Dragon Tiger is a fast-paced game, it’s easy to get caught up in a streak. Set a budget for each session, and stick to it.
Divide your bankroll into smaller portions and avoid betting your entire balance in one game.
Stay Focused on the Basics:
Dragon Tiger is a simple game. While some players may add a variety of side bets, staying focused on basic bets is often the safest strategy.
Winning Strategies for Dragon Tiger in Teen Patti
To enhance your chances of winning, it helps to apply some strategic thinking. Here are a few strategies for Dragon Tiger in Teen Patti:
Single-Side Betting Strategy:
This is one of the most popular strategies among Dragon Tiger players. Here, players consistently bet on one side (either Dragon or Tiger) for several rounds.
This strategy is based on the idea that, over time, each side will roughly equal out in wins. If one side wins, players stay with it. If it loses, they double their stake on the same side until they win back their losses.
Martingale Strategy:
The Martingale strategy involves doubling your bet after each loss. The idea is that when you eventually win, you recover all previous losses along with a profit.
This strategy works best with a larger bankroll and is best suited for even-money bets, such as betting on Dragon or Tiger.
Card Counting:
While more challenging in online play, in live games, card counting can give you a slight edge. Since only one deck is used, players can keep track of high and low cards to predict the likelihood of certain cards appearing.
However, it’s important to note that card counting isn’t foolproof and requires practice.
Avoid Betting on Ties:
While tie bets offer lucrative payouts, the odds are much lower than standard bets on Dragon or Tiger.
Stick with straightforward bets to maintain a more consistent win-loss ratio. If you do decide to place a tie bet, do so sparingly and only with a small portion of your bankroll.
Set Winning and Loss Limits:
Given the fast pace of Dragon Tiger, having set limits can help you maximize your profits and avoid significant losses. Decide beforehand how much you aim to win and how much you’re willing to lose.
Once you reach either of these limits, it’s a good idea to step back from the game, as it helps you avoid emotional decisions.
Common Mistakes to Avoid in Dragon Tiger
Even experienced players can make mistakes when playing Dragon Tiger in Teen Patti. Here are a few common ones to watch out for:
Ignoring Bankroll Management:
With fast rounds, it’s easy to burn through your funds if you aren’t cautious. Always monitor your spending and make small, consistent bets rather than large, risky ones.
Betting on Ties Too Frequently:
2.While tempting due to the high payout, tie bets in Bac Bo should be approached with caution due to their low probability of occurring. Betting on ties too often can deplete your bankroll.
Chasing Losses:
Some players fall into the trap of increasing their bets after a loss. Instead, take each round independently, as chasing losses can lead to overspending.
Emotional Decision-Making:
It’s crucial to remain calm and avoid making bets based on frustration or excitement. Maintaining a clear head improves your decision-making and ultimately, your chances of winning.
Conclusion
Dragon Tiger in Teen Patti is an engaging game that offers a simplified and exciting way to enjoy card gaming. With easy-to-follow rules and strategies that can adapt to your style, it’s suitable for both beginners and experienced players. By understanding the odds, practicing effective bankroll management, and sticking to strategic betting, you can elevate your Dragon Tiger gameplay. Remember that while strategies can help guide you, this is a game of chance, so enjoy the experience without relying solely on predictions. Practice, patience, and a bit of luck are key to success in Dragon Tiger in Teen Patti!

Name: Ishani Zahara Garcia
Faceclaim: Pooja Hegde
Gender & Pronouns: CIS-woman & she/her
Age: 34
Birthday: January, 31, 1990
Occupation: Owner of Soundwave Nightclub
Neighborhood: Carriage Falls
Does your character have a secret? While doing inventory in Soundwave's storage room, the door's faulty mechanism jammed shut, leaving Ishani trapped in the darkness when the motion sensor lights time out. She was found an hour later by an employee and has since kept the reason a secret for her breakdown.
Would you be willing to have this secret used against them at some point in the future? Yes
Biography
Ishani never knew her birth parents. Her earliest memories were of life in a crowded orphanage in Delhi, India. The orphanage staff had a soft spot for the little girl with the chubby cheeks and sparkling eyes, but the other kids weren't so nice. They picked on her constantly. By the time she was four and got adopted by Adela Garcia, she barely spoke or smiled anymore. But her new mom showered her with so much love that within months of moving to Wilmington, SC, her bubbly personality came right back. When her mom adopted Donnie Paak, Isha was over the moon—she finally had the sibling she'd always wanted. She jumped right into being the protective big sister, and the two of them were inseparable, always getting into some kind of mischief together.
High school was pretty normal for her—decent grades, nothing spectacular. She kept busy though, singing in the choir and playing volleyball on the varsity team. After graduation, she bounced around a bit trying to figure out what she wanted to do. She started out studying business at Seattle Pacific University but realized journalism was more her thing. She switched majors in her second semester and never looked back. After graduating, she landed a job as a field reporter at a local news station. At first, she let people push her around a lot. Then she met this hotshot reporter she'd always looked up to who told her she needed to stand up for herself. That advice clicked something in her head—she started holding her ground and not letting anyone walk all over her. Her career took off after that.
By 28, she was working as a foreign correspondent, traveling to all sorts of dangerous places around the world. Her mom and Donnie worried, but they were proud of her too. She had always managed to stay safe, until that assignment in Bangladesh five years ago. She had been covering the devastating monsoon floods when the building she was in collapsed. For 5 brutal days, she was trapped in this tiny pocket of space, barely able to move. The only thing keeping her sane was recording messages to her family on her phone—she had been pretty sure they'd be the last words her family would ever hear from her. She could still remember how the concrete dust made it hard to breathe, how the darkness seemed to press in on her from all sides.
When the rescue worker finally broke through and pulled her out, she had thought she'd be fine once she got home. But those 5 days changed her. She couldn't handle small spaces at all—even elevators freaked her out. She got panic attacks when she felt trapped, and sometimes anxiety hit her out of nowhere. After getting back to the U.S., she had kind of lost her way for a while. She would disappear for months at a time, traveling anywhere and everywhere because staying still made her feel trapped again. Somehow she had gotten really good at poker during all that wandering and made decent money from it.
Eventually, she just got tired. Tired of running, tired of being alone, tired of trying to outrun her memories. So she came home to Wilmington to open Soundwave. She’d even started seeing a therapist. But about five months after returning, everything she'd been pushing down finally caught up with her. She had a complete breakdown and had to be hospitalized. Her recently release was cathartic, but it also meant she had to try to piece her life back together. Rainy days were still tough though—the sound of water hitting windows took her right back to those dark days in Bangladesh. But unlike before, she now had the tools to deal with her anxiety.
tl;dr
Ishani spent the first four years of her life in a Delhi orphanage and was adopted by Adela Garcia. It was then that she was brought to Wilmington, SC. She grew up there with her adopted brother Donnie, got into journalism, and made it big as a foreign correspondent. But things got rough when she got stuck in a collapsed building for five days during a flood in Bangladesh. It messed her up badly. She had claustrophobia and PTSD because of it. Feeling lost, she went off the grid after that, just traveling around and playing poker to cope. In July 2024, she finally came back home and opened Soundwave. Months flew by. Things were going alright until one night she got trapped in a back room at Soundwave. It took an hour for an employee to realize she’d been shouting out for help. She had a pretty serious breakdown that landed her in the hospital. She was released on November 1st, 2024—hoping to resume her life now that she has her PTSD and claustrophobia under control.
Wanted Connections
Brother: He’s brother that Isha dotes on—she’ll protect him from anyone who tries to hurt him. Donovan Paak
Friends: Self explanatory
Neighbors: Same here
Employees: People who work at Soundwave
Best Friend: They grew up together and are as thick as thieves. Camila Moreno
Enemies: Could be a competitor or just someone she doesn’t vibe with
Yoga Friends: This person goes to yoga with Mahi. They could have met in a class one day
Poker Buddies: She's a poker champ and would take your money
