On the bottom left corner, there is a piece of thallus with the marginal soralia characteristic of P. collina.

Went down to the riverside to take pictures of the river. Did not take any pics of the river. Ended up taking pictures of the lichen on the trail bridges instead.

Platismatia glauca

Ragbag lichen,  gray tartsch lichen

I mean, what is there to say? This lichen is A number 1, gorgeous, perfect, effervescent? All true. If we are talking just like, really really good lichens? P. glauca is definitely one of them. This foliose lichen is widespread and variable in color and configuration across its range, which extends from everywhere in the northern hemisphere down to South America and eastern Africa. The upper surface is usually a pale whitish-gray or gray-green, and the lower surface is black near the center, and a mottled brown toward the margins. P. glauca has rounded and crescent-shaped soralia which produce granular, pale soredia. It colonizes wood and bark in open woodlands.
