#Unfortunately yes #but we have more than one word for it #originally it was just Styvpappa #but then because Sweden is a whimp the moment a word gets negative connotations they give it a new name
#I don’t know why the word styv suddenly became negative but it wouldn’t surprise me if it was because of things like Cinderella and #the evil Styvmamma #now you can also say extrapappa bonuspappa plastpappa
#the last one is PLASTIC DAD #and is arguably the funniest alternative
If you don’t think it’s funny that ”stepdad” in swedish is ”Bonuspappa” then get out

It’s much better than what kids called it when I was a child, “plastpappa”. Plastic dad. Because it’s your fake dad.

Some people also refer to it as “plastpappa” which literally translates to “plastic dad”

The real crime is that this person thinks “bonuspappa” is funnier than “plastpappa” which translates to plastic dad

You can also say "styvpappa"/"styvfar" (styv meaning stiff) or "plastpappa" (plast meaning plastic")! So bonus-dad, stiff-dad and plastic-dad lol
If you don’t think it’s funny that ”stepdad” in swedish is ”Bonuspappa” then get out
#My addition#The same rule applies to 'mom'#'bonusmamma' 'styvmor/styvmamma' 'plastmamma'#I don't really understand how bonus-parent is somehow a funny word but oh well#Plastic is funnier in my eyes
