Through this patrons only essay, I think through the way surface both retains and exceeds Blackness, stretching from the epidermis to pornotropic Black geographies.

Delia daughter of Renty on B.F. Taylor Plantation, Columbia South Carolina [Picture # 1]
[ID] @DaRealKingCoopa tweets: "This is why Spanish women and black guys go together...Look at the production lol" There are two photographs of two light skinned little girls below the tweet. The little girl on the left is holding a crushed paper cup and looking to her right. The little girl on the left is lifting her hair. She wears a red shirt that reads "PLAYDATE MATERIAL". [end of ID]
The daguerreotype and screenshot above best visually describe the essay. Here are some excerpts:
There needs to be a Black body whose epidermis is weighed down with meanings for Blackness to register as legible. Louis Agassiz commissioned daguerreotypes of Delia and Drana amongst others to surface what he considered black inferiority; as it was, there was (and is) nothing to be said, almost nothing to be seen. There's nothing to be retrieved from the surface, for there isn't any meaning to it.
and
How does one settles through the contradiction ? How it is that the surface can hollow and index ? What about the Black epidermis means countability without recognition ? The archive begets the algorithm. The algorithm begets the archive. PredPol, a company producing predictive policing software, rests on the surface of the event. The type of crime. The time of the crime. The location of the crime.
and
@DaRealKingCoopa tweets: "This is why Spanish women and black guys go together.. Look at the production lol" . The (re)produced girl children stand silent, growing more opaque as @DaRealKingCoopa imbricates the skins of body in flux. Through the dreamed introduction and the material disappearance of his extremity, he participates in a process, that would, by proxy, identifies his body as obsolete and defaced, a debris to be rid of for the surfacing to occur in all its quaint neatness. He would no longer exist as he is; the fleshy brand of his abjection would rub up against the sandpaper of a deracialized "Spanish" woman, peeling off into unidentifiable children. Now you see me, now you don't.

WELCOME
This is a little info thing on the Smith Virus Medical Center AU. It's a massive directory with characters, backstories, etc. Maybe even some snazzy pictures one day.
BACKSTORY
Remember this commercial? In this AU, something went horribly wrong recording it, and now the Smith virus is in OUR world. A hospital in Kissimmee, FL has responded to the outbreak by converting into a research facility populated by a bunch of odd "nurses" (for now, nurse is a very wide term as they act like doctors but look like nurses) and other workers, who've signed a contract that makes it so they live at the hospital indefinitely to investigate the outbreak and risk their life for...wait, this seems like a trap...And the doctors are slowly startng to lose their sanity too
CHARACTERS
there will be more.
Sophia Amburgey
Her first gig as a nurse
A miserable Midwesterner who was "forcefully" relocated to Florida. She's lived in Ocala for nearly a year, but still hates it and wants to go home, although she knows she can never return home. She's being driven to insanity from her desires. She's rarely happy, but when she is, she's bound to show it off in the craziest ways.
Amburgey likes to study the neurological parts of the virus, and seems to show quite a bit of sympathy for the infected; after all they were once like her, and it's almost as if she can feel the pain they can not. After all, her studies point to them having some sort of trace of their humanity within them
(also she is very autistic)
Maria Koch
Westside Hospital - Plantation, FL
A witness to the Aventura Hospital incident. She's a bit of a luddite, and tries to avoid using the computer whenever possible. She also has very odd dreams, and she claims that a dream she had weeks prior to the incident where she was transformed into a familiar-looking man was a prediction of the outbreak.
More than anything, Koch wants to find a cure despite all evidence pointing that no cure will ever be good enough, and this is generating so much stress its like she's competing with Amburgey
(i accidentally gave her heterochromia :D)
Hernando Ramirez
Palms of Pasadena Hospital - South Pasadena, FL
- It may not show, but this guy's been killing it at his game for years. He even treated Dr. Amburgey for norovirus when she was little during a Florida vacation gone sour, before she became the jaded, insecure woman we know her as now.
Granted, the hospital was mainly self-serve, but he promises to "lock the fuck in" as Dr. Amburgey says. He just acts like a general nurse, checking in on the clones similarly to Dr. Amburgey and "Jennie". Sometimes this even extends to other nurses -- Koch seems to particularly concern her, as she frequently forgets to eat or sleep in the name of research
Ethan Hunter
North Florida Regional Medical Center - Gainesville, FL
Dr. Amburgey's cousin-in-law, this former paramedic is now taking care of incidents all around the hospital and metropolitan area, from St. Cloud to Orlando, (the ones at the amusement parks are the most horrific usually)
Sometimes he brings other nurses along, especially his cousin Sophia.
{REDACTED] Smith
Aventura Hospital and Medical Center - Aventura, FL
WE DO NOT TALK ABOUT HIM.
He manages the software for the project and nobody knows how the fuck he got in. We're too scared to fire him
JENNIE BARRETT
Mercy Hospital - Miami, FL
Although Jennie dons the nurse uniform, you're more likely to find her working the gift shop.
Inspired by the "deirty girls" of Hugo Weaving's fandom, Jennie is fucking insane. I mean, she sacrificed her brother just to work as a GIFT SHOP CLERK. She also seems to be be living off of pot brownies because there's no way she acts like that regularly. She also has an affinity for things like Strawberry Shortcake and Sanrio; she's a Hello Kitty girl to her very core! She also has a pretty sweet Build-A-Bear collection, and Dr. Amburgey seems to get along with her wonderfully
Jennie also seems to have something wrong with her as well, as she's getting herself into dangerous situations just to spend time with the infected.
Damian Madison
There's something suspicious about him too?
This shaggy emo-looking boy is Dr. Amburgey's best friend and partner in crime. He's stuck cleaning rooms most of the time
Sarah Edmonton
Central Florida Regional Hospital - Sanford, FL
Sarah can't catch a break, can she? A highly desirable target for the infected, she tries to work as a receptionist in the lobby, as far away from the clones as possible. They assimilated her family, and she's very likely the next up.
Ayrton Ivanov
Barista
Ayrton is a very curious young man, and the only human employee at the coffee shop. He loves to nerd out over cars, and he's got some decent art skills too, drawing mint kitties, characters to cheer you up while you cope with the fact that your Smith-infected daughter forgot who you were and lashed out. Some nurses have very ermmm...impressive collections.

Honestly, I think the TV/computer restrictions we had in my house were good for kids our age. The computers were desktops so you couldn’t really hide what you were doing on there, but the only bad part was that my dad would like comment on my writing when I was very obviously simply writing bad fantasy fiction. They didn’t care if I was on Neopets or playing Cake Mania or whatever. I also remember watching Glee in the middle of the computer room, where my parents could see the screen but not hear what was happening. They didn’t have to closely monitor what I was doing (like having tracking software) because they knew they could always just see it. I started having access to a more private computer around 12 or 13 ish.
What they almost never tracked was what we were reading from the library, so we would read stuff way too old for us (I remember reading Memoirs of a Geisha pretty young) but the harm that can do is in part limited on account of being vetted by a public librarian for inclusion in the library. My sister and I also both read the Elsie Dinsmore series, which is this horrible very Christian series about an antebellum plantation. Elsie is a poor little rich girl who lives on the plantation; her family owns slaves and the slaves all love Elsie because she is so virtuous and upholds Christian values. Elsie’s father is abusive and mean because he is not Christian, but she does what she’s told to anyway because she knows to honor her father. Eventually he reforms and accepts Jesus into his heart and becomes a better father. And again, my parents could see what we were reading (except Memoirs of a Geisha, I was so sneaky about that one because I knew it was about sex) but they mostly didn’t care. Parental panopticon? Maybe! But it worked pretty well.

the desert afforestation software engineer guy apparently went on a trip to mexico at some point to visit an agave plantation and the workers there talked about (among other things) how the best way to get more agave is to let one pup and then split off the new rhizome
and meanwhile the guy there is like, ahh, rhizoma, like they've just explained some highly technical agricultural technique.
(anyway then he planted hundreds of agave seeds and all but one of them failed to germinate and the one that did germinate died)
i mean i guess i admire his tenacity to some degree but like. dude start with a backyard garden. do some xeriscaping somewhere that's not a four hour drive away from anything

Control Surveys in Southwest Georgia: Ensuring Accurate Land Development
When it comes to land surveying, precision is everything. Whether you're developing property, constructing infrastructure, or mapping land boundaries, accurate measurements are crucial. This is where control surveys play a vital role. For residents and businesses in Southwest Georgia, understanding the importance of control surveys can streamline projects and ensure long-term success. At NASH SURVEYING & DESIGN, we specialize in delivering high-quality control surveys to support your development goals.
What is a Control Survey?
A control survey is a type of land survey that establishes precise reference points for future mapping and construction activities. These reference points form a network of horizontal and vertical control points that guide engineers, architects, and construction teams throughout the project.
In Southwest Georgia, where land conditions can vary between flat plains and uneven terrains, control surveys ensure that measurements remain consistent and reliable. This method prevents costly mistakes and minimizes errors in large-scale developments.
Why Are Control Surveys Important?
Control surveys provide a foundation for accurate mapping and design. They are critical for:
1. Construction Projects: From roads and bridges to commercial developments, control surveys ensure that structures are aligned correctly and meet design specifications.
2. Land Subdivision: Accurate boundary lines are crucial for property division, avoiding disputes and legal issues.
3. Infrastructure Development: Control surveys support the installation of utilities such as water lines, gas pipelines, and power grids.
4. Mapping and GIS Data Collection: Control points create reliable reference systems for geographic mapping, ensuring data accuracy for planners and developers.
5. Floodplain Management: Accurate elevation data from control surveys helps determine flood risk zones and guide proper drainage system planning.
Key Components of a Control Survey
Control surveys involve several essential steps to ensure precision:
1. Establishing Reference Points: Surveyors place stable, durable markers in key locations to act as permanent reference points.
2. Using Advanced Equipment: High-precision GPS devices, total stations, and laser scanners are employed to gather accurate data.
3. Data Analysis: Collected data is analyzed using specialized software to confirm accuracy and create detailed mapping frameworks.
4. Verification Process: Cross-checking measurements ensures all control points align with existing geographical data.

Applications of Control Surveys in Southwest Georgia
In Southwest Georgia, control surveys are particularly valuable in the following sectors:
Agricultural Land Management: Accurate measurements support irrigation planning, boundary marking, and land division for farms and plantations.
Urban Development: Growing cities like Albany, Thomasville, and Bainbridge rely on precise mapping to expand infrastructure efficiently.
Transportation Projects: From highway expansions to new road networks, control surveys are vital for aligning routes and structures.
Environmental Preservation: Surveys aid in mapping conservation areas, ensuring ecosystems are protected during development.

Marpu Foundation: Pioneering CSR Solutions in Today’s NGO Landscape
In today’s dynamic NGO panorama, Marpu Foundation sticks out as a trailblazer, seamlessly blending Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) with community improvement. Through progressive projects, Marpu is transforming the way organizations and communities engage, supplying sustainable solutions that address pressing social problems. Here’s a more in-depth look at how Marpu Foundation has pioneered CSR solutions with a variety of impactful initiatives.

1. Empowering Education Through ‘Project Prerana’
Marpu Foundation’s Project Prerana is a top example of ways CSR can contribute to growing lasting instructional possibilities. The initiative specializes in supplying first-rate schooling to underprivileged children in rural areas. By partnering with nearby colleges, the muse supplies crucial sources consisting of textbooks, college resources, and infrastructure improvements. The task also consists of mentorship packages that equip youngsters with skills beyond the lecture room, making sure that they’re prepared for the demanding situations of the future. One fantastic fulfilment story from this initiative is the expanded enrolment fee and retention of college students in schools where Marpu has implemented their academic programs. The software’s holistic approach has not only led to stronger overall academic performance but also built more potent network ties.
2. Promoting Health and Well-being with ‘Swachh Sehat’
In line with its commitment to public fitness, Marpu Foundation released Swachh Sehat, a CSR initiative that addresses sanitation and fitness attention in rural groups. This undertaking focuses on the construction of sanitary lavatories, easy-to-consume water centers, and health camps supplying loose scientific test-ups, vaccinations, and health training. For example, in the village of Rajapur, Marpu helped lessen waterborne diseases by means of providing secure drinking water and building over 50 sanitary bathrooms. As an end result, there has been a big decrease in fitness-associated troubles, and local communities are actually greater aware of hygiene and preventative care practices.
3. Environmental Stewardship Through ‘Green Earth Initiative’

Environmental sustainability is another key pillar of the Marpu Foundation’s CSR strategy. The Green Earth Initiative specializes in afforestation, waste management, and growing attention about environmental conservation. Marpu collaborates with local communities and businesses to plant trees, smooth up rivers, and teach people approximately sustainable practices. In one of its most ambitious initiatives, the foundation initiated a large-scale tree plantation force inside the metropolis of Vijayawada. In just 12 months, over 10,000 saplings were planted, considerably improving air quality and growing green spaces for the network. The initiative has sparked a broader environmental motion, with neighborhood corporations and schools joining efforts to preserve the environment.
4. Women’s Empowerment thru ‘Nari Shakti’

The Nari Shakti program is a testimony to the Marpu Foundation’s commitment to gender equality and girls’s empowerment. This mission offers vocational education, monetary literacy, and entrepreneurship help to girls in marginalised communities. By focusing on talent improvement in fields that include tailoring, handcrafts, and organic farming, the inspiration empowers ladies to become financially impartial and energetic individuals in the economy. Through the Nari Shakti initiative, Marpu has helped over 500 girls begin their very own small corporations, many of which have now grown to be successful companies, reaping benefits for complete groups. This challenge no longer only improves the monetary balance of families but also promotes gender equality by encouraging women to tackle leadership roles in their groups.
5.Enhancing Livelihoods with ‘Sustainable Farming Practices’
Marpu Foundation has also made sizeable strides in selling sustainable agricultural practices. Through its Sustainable Farming Practices program, Marpu trains farmers on eco-friendly strategies like natural farming, crop rotation, and water conservation. By decreasing dependency on harmful insecticides and fertilizers, those practices help grow crop yields at the same time as retaining the surroundings. In the village of Sankarpur, Marpu’s initiative has brought about a 30% increase in crop yield, enhancing the livelihood of over 200 farmers. The fulfilment of this assignment serves as a version for integrating CSR with agricultural sustainability.
Conclusion:
A Model for CSR Excellence Marpu Foundation’s tasks exhibit that CSR is not just about charity; however, it is approximately developing systemic trade that blesses each corporation and community. With a focus on education, health, the surroundings, women’s empowerment, and sustainable livelihoods, Marpu is proving that CSR can be an effective device for positive trade. Their tasks exemplify how NGOs and agencies can paint hand-in-hand to address the demanding situations of today’s world, making Marpu Foundation a true pioneer in CSR solutions.

Two years from now, floating down the Tombigbee River, I don’t want to have to recall the format of the turret’s SCAN and ZOOM commands to make the camera sweep slowly across the magnolia-draped waterfront of an antebellum plantation, then zoom slowly onto a sagging dock. But how do you write a GUI on an eight-bitter with 64K of address space and no disk?
Obviously, you don’t. Let the little guys do what they do well, and add layers as needed to do the sexy stuff, which, after all, is consistent with our power-miser philosophy (when we’re asleep, we need vigilant nodes, not animated GIFs).

With Digital Ocean’s Tarpon wireless Newton and a wired unit for the helm, along with software wizardry from Chris Burmester and Allpen’s Erik Browne, we quickly evolved a clean custom layered control console that allowed pen control over the entire system; see Figure 3. In the turret view shown, touching any point on the circle around the boat moves the selected camera to that angle. Drawing an arc shades the selected region and scans the camera at whatever speed is selected by the slider. Other views control VCR or ham radio, display bargraphs of environmental sensors, and so on — one even lets us create macros (or presets) of Forth commands, name them, and select from a pick list. All tools simply send ASCII strings in response to touches, or convert received variables into graphs and icons.

Lying racist texts sent to Black people nationwide after US election
COGwriter
Although we are all part of the human race, horrible racist texts apparently intended to strike fear and sow hatred were sent to Black people in the United States after its presidential election this week:
Authorities work to find the source of racist texts sent to Black people nationwide after the election. Here’s what we know
November 9, 2024
Federal and state authorities are working to find the origins of racist text messages sent to Black people across the country referencing slavery and telling them they were “selected to pick cotton at the nearest plantation.”
Children, college students and working professionals have received the mass texts from unrecognized phone numbers in the wake of the presidential election. The hate-filled rhetoric reminiscent of the country’s painful and bigoted past has been reported in more than 20 states from New York to California, and the District of Columbia. …
Donald Trump’s presidential “campaign has absolutely nothing to do with these text messages,” spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said in a statement.
Students from at least three historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) – Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia, Fisk University in Nashville and Claflin University in Orangeburg, South Carolina – have reported receiving the text messages, according to statements from the universities.
The Federal Communications Commission’s enforcement bureau is investigating the texts, FCC Chair Jessica Rosenworcel announced. “These messages are unacceptable,” she said. “We take this type of targeting very seriously.”
The FBI said it “is aware of the offensive and racist text messages sent to individuals and is in contact with the Justice Department and other federal authorities on the matter,” …
It was not immediately clear who sent the messages, and there is no complete list of to whom they were delivered. At least some appear to have been sent through TextNow in what the company believes “is a widespread, coordinated attack,” it told CNN on Friday.
“As soon as we became aware, our Trust & Safety team acted quickly, rapidly disabling the related accounts in less than an hour,” said the company, whose service lets people sign up anonymously using an email address and send texts that appear to come from a randomly generated phone number.
TextNow is “working alongside our industry partners to uncover more details and continue to monitor patterns to actively block any new accounts attempting to send these messages,” the company told CNN. “We do not tolerate or condone the use of our service to send harassing or spam messages and will work with the authorities to prevent these individuals from doing so in the future.” …
Attorneys general in Washington, DC, Virginia, New Jersey, Illinois and Maryland have condemned the messages and urged those who feel under threat to contact law enforcement.
Texts addressed recipients by name
Screenshots of the texts shared with CNN and appearing on social media show the racist messages addressed the recipients by name.
The senders likely collected personal data by buying it online and then inputted that and other data into machine-learning algorithms to attain demographic information, Cori Faklaris, an assistant professor of software and information services at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, told the Associated Press.
“All of this means it might be easier than most people realize to make a really good guess about the race or ethnicity of the person attached to that phone number,” Faklaris said.
New York Attorney General Letitia James said the texts, which “appear to be targeting Black and brown individuals,” may also include other personal information about the recipient, including their location.
“Whoever is responsible for this did some real research not putting together the target list, but also crafting a message that had info that made it seem real,” Kenneth Gray, a University of New Haven lecturer and retired FBI special agent, told CNN affiliate WFSB. …
Nicole Nuñez, whose 15-year-old son attends a Stella charter school in Los Angeles, told CNN affiliate KABC her son and some of his friends got a similar text message.
“It said he has been chosen to be part of group B to go pick cotton at a plantation, and he will be picked up by a black van and to be ready by 6 p.m. And he said a lot of his Hispanic friends have also gotten the message saying that they will be deported, so they’re getting different messages, just worded a little differently,” said Nuñez.
Students at major universities, including the University of Alabama, said they received the messages this week.
Black honors freshman Alyse McCall was in tears and wanted to go home after getting a message saying she had been “selected to pick cotton at the nearest plantation” and should “be prepared to be searched down,” her mother, Arleta McCall, told CNN.
“It’s eerie that it’s the day after the election. It’s eerie that it came to my daughter’s personal phone. It’s eerie that it’s only going to Black students,” McCall said. “Her group of friends have mapped out their paths to class so they can walk together and keep each other safe.” https://www.cnn.com/2024/11/09/us/racist-texts-black-people-investigation-what-we-know/index.html
It would seem that this was a fairly sophisticated texting of hate as the texts even addressed people by name.
This was wrong.
The Bible says to:
1 Cry aloud, spare not; Lift up your voice like a trumpet; Tell My people their transgression, And the house of Jacob their sins. (Isaiah 58:1)
Yes, this texting was a sin, and I am denouncing that here.
I also denounced the targeting of Jews in Amsterdam here yesterday (see Jewish soccer/football fans in Amsterdam hunted down by persecutors).
Now on the matter of race, here is something from the Statement of Beliefs of the Continuing Church of God:
LOVE AND SALVATION FOR ALL RACES AND PEOPLES
Racial hatred is wrong. While there can be racial differences, the Bible does not teach that one race is superior in His eyes to any other. The Bible commands all humankind to love their neighbors as themselves (Leviticus 19:18; Matthew 22:39; Acts 17:24-29). Jesus came to bring joy to all peoples (Luke 2:10). The Bible shows that salvation is now freely offered to both Jews and Gentiles (Acts 10:34-35; Romans 10:8-13; cf. Joel 2:32) and that God intends to save people “of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues” (Revelation 7:9). Christian love should be shown to people of all ethnicities (Romans 13:10; Luke 10:30-37; (see What About Romans 11:25 and the Full Number of the Gentiles? and What is the Ezekiel Warning?), and continue in doctrine (1 Timothy 4:16). “Our God is the God of salvation” (Psalm 68:20) “And all flesh shall see the salvation of God” (Luke 3:6; see Universal OFFER of Salvation, Apokatastasis: Can God save the lost in an age to come? Hundreds of scriptures reveal God’s plan of salvation).
We also have websites intended to reach people of various ethnic groups and languages:

The Continuing Church of God (CCOG) put out following video on our Bible News Prophecy YouTube channel:
youtube
22:07
Mystery of Race
Where did the various races come from? Did they evolve? If God created them, why? What is a Cushite? Is one race superior to any other? Why are people different shapes and sizes and with different hair color, etc.? Were Adam, Eve, Noah, Noah’s children and their wives involved? From whom did coastal people descend according to Genesis 10? Why are some weaker and others not? What is the purpose of multiple races? How could this be part of God’s plan? Does God have a plan for each INDIVIDUAL?
Here is a link to our video: Mystery of Race.
God made people of various colors and ethnicities to be part of the one body (Romans 12:4-5; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14) and to learn various lessons, so all who will accept God’s plan will be able to give love in a unique way to make eternity better for themselves and all others in the Kingdom of God.
No group is superior to another in the sight of God or the CCOG.
People should not send lying, hateful, and such fear-generating texts as CNN mentioned happened in the USA this week.
