"Their soul snakes in on itself like flustered birds panicking in their chests as it tries to magnetize and recombine when within a certain distance of one another, and so Fern's job of stalking Finn turns into a headache of trying to keep his silence in all his double's one sided ramblings.

This comic starts after the confrontation in Seventeen and ends with Penelope (Finn's next incarnation in the comics) entering the Heart of the Forest, nostalgic sensation rushing down her spine as she relearns that 'everything stays but it still changes' one thousand years in the future."

The style is shaky cuz I was still trying to figure out how I wanted to draw 'em. One day I'll go back and redraw the whole thing but that's a ways away still. (anything typed is text from The Stand)

An idea to those who might be interested: plant!reader who, because they are so new to holding a humanoid form, is incredibly bad at communicating verbally. Since plants seem to come across as communicating to each other through non-audible means, this could translate to plant!reader having a very hard time understanding the concept of sounds = words = ideas.

Though they can try to communicate to humans using their natural telepathy, the act itself is incredibly painful to the humans it’s directed to because their brains are simply not wired to understand the mental language, and instead it causes massive migraines.

Over time, plant!reader finds that it is much easier to learn how to communicate through other means, which has led a lot of unsuspecting folk to assume that they are simply mute, and thus over time they have picked up a simplistic form of sign language that is accentuated with very gentle nudges of their telepathic voice.

Since this has worked well enough, they have never bothered to learn to speak—so you can imagine the complete shock from plant!reader when they realize out of the blue one random day that there is someone who not only doesn’t keel over in agony under the weight of their thoughts, but also has the ability to respond to them in kind. It’s like finally being able to breathe, finally having a gag removed from their metaphorical mouth.

You can also imagine the absolute storm of emotions flowing through Vash and/or Knives when they realize not only do they have that ability themselves, but that there is another plant like themselves somewhere out in the desert—and they have to come to terms with the wave of newfound emotions and instincts that come from that.

EL DIABLO

I finally finished this and I am SO PROUD of how it turned out! Please watch it in full view because I'm sure Tumblr will butcher the derails xD.

The entire work is painted with traditional mixed media: water colour paints, Indian ink and ecoline paints on paper.

It certainly betrays that I deeply enjoy drawing the plant markings, doesn't it? XD

I cherrypicked some of my favorite aspects of the different variations of Vash's plant-form and ran with them real real hard.

I'm also really happy with how the prosthetic came out ♡!
