some weird-ass astro
almost everything that we know of rotates counter-clockwise. it just does, like it's weird that so much stuff does. you wouldn't think it does but it do.
and most everything in our solar system faces the same way up, just about
not venus. venus is just like, uhhhh ... yeahhhh, i'm gonna need to rotate clockwise ... because i can. what now? what now!
and then uranus is just out there flopping around on its side, some weird-ass
why do you have a 97 degree axial tilt! why

Midnight Planétarium Watch Orrery This timepiece, created by Van Cleef & Arpels in partnership with Christiaan van der Klaauw, contains 396 separate parts and features bejewelled planets in our solar system accurately rotating around our sun. MVEMJS are displayed on this watch, but U and N are not.
Via Twisted Sifter:
Each of the planets are represented by precious and semi-precious stones, ranging from red jasper to serpentine and turquoise. There is also a ‘lucky day’ feature that uses the bezel to allow owners to select any day of the year as your ‘lucky day’ and the Earth will fall underneath the painted star on the watch’s crystal on that day every year.
Before you rush out to buy one for your stargazing friend, make sure you can afford the staggering $245,000 price tag!
