Hi!!! Thanks for asking some questions! These are from Nitty Gritty Worldbuilding Asks.

2. Are there any other clans living near by? Are they friendly or are they rivals? Tell us about their interactions with your clan.

Not many other clans live nearby! Clan Rivensong lives on the Welkin Isles, and has sort of chosen to physically distance themselves from other clans. That being said, there are clans who visit (especially in the warm months) and Rivensong maintains a healthy trade partnership with many of their allies. Then there's the clans they raid...

3. What is your clan’s main source of income?

Raiding and trade make up the majority of my clan's income! It's a tricky economy to manage and can be very feast or famine at times, but the coin master, Kar, has gotten exceptionally good at managing it. Rivensong also receives royalties from exaltees who they have trained.

20. Are there Beast Clans near your clan? How does your clan interact with the Beast Clans?

Most of the beast clan my clan interacts with are maren, talonok, and harpies- the ones who are most likely to live near the islands themselves. They will also raid beast clans as well as dragon clans. Rivensong views beast clans as equals but don't hold any particular close bonds to any beast clan groups. They visit and trade with the clan just like any other background dragon might, but they don't hold a very large role in my clan at all.

That being said, there are a handful of beast clan characters who are active within my lore! Tugo's friend Dahlia (Dappled Dunhoof) came with him when he joined the clan. Chert's as of now unnamed adoptive mother (Plainstrider Bard) also is a part of the clan. The most significant beast clan character in my lore is Laeralis (represented by a coatl in my lair) who has joined the clan in order to write about draconic culture- and who I use as a framing device for some of my more expositiony lore!

The meta explanation for why there's not many beast clans in my lore is just... I don't find them interesting. I'm primarily interested in Flight Rising for the dragons and the dragons alone. I just don't like the beast clans as much as I like the dragons themselves. Maybe one day they'll take a larger role in my lore, but I've tried that before and just never been satisfied with it. Mostly I just don't care about the beast clans that much.

That being said, I do love seeing what other people do with them! I think some of the beastclan/dragon dynamics people explore can be super interesting.

So um. I kind of forgot I was on Thunderhead Savannah for this challenge and I’ve been grinding there for NotN...I’ve had a TON of drops including a plague egg (which I didn’t get a screenshot of rip) so I’ve been done for a while! This list is kind of a guess based on what’s in my hoard now...

Dungeons In Dragons - Season 2, Session 21: “Ties That Bind”

The party races to Cerwind, attempting to apprehend Ichthyarbourus Fel before he reaches Alicia Van Osternburg. But the tables turn quickly as they discover the situation is far more complex than they expected...

A knuckle-fused Ignis and stick-wielding Evelyn trade blows in the garden as onlookers gather to see them spar: weapon-training versus ki-ability. During the friendly scuffle, Ignis's embedded Charcoal Knuckles do unintended fire damage to Evelyn's tunic, and he stops the fight before things escalate further. Evelyn and Vera later inspect Ignis' knuckles, confirming strange arcana responsible but unable to determine more. 

Though the duel ends, emotional strain remains between a few of the party members. Nymeria sits with If outside of Mikael's room as they wait for him to wake, sharing some time in quiet contemplation. Vera and Evelyn speak at length in a nearby room about their faith and pasts, putting their differences aside. The night ends in an awkward late-night confrontation between Evelyn and If in the hallway.

The morning provides silent truce as the party reconvenes for breakfast. If sneaks away to investigate Mikael's now-vacant room, finding strange runes drawn on every surface. They take some sketches of the sigil, while Mikael expands on his training: from his time at the Battlemagus to his current studies with the Iljikimaru (an arcane academy) and the "Plainstriders" (an Elvish order that protects the valley from undead spirits). When the time comes, Mikael leads the group to the Plainstriders' temple, accessing the teleportation sigil deep underneath and transporting them directly to Cerwind. A brief confrontation is had with the Argus Magus, "Battlemage wannabes" as Mikael puts it, and they safely depart with a fine of 60 gold.

As they emerge from the Cerwind Argus Magus building, before them is a city full of would-be adventurers from all parts of the world. They encounter only a few of these strangers: two twin Half-Elven musicians, a towering knight in Xiao Empire armor, and a human woman with trident and fiery red mohawk. The party beelines past them to Van Osternburg Furs & Fineries Headquarters, but are surprised when they are refused entry to the compound. Reporting that their orders from Juno Cytheria are not to let anyone inside, the guards remain stalwart and the party is unable to convince them otherwise. A decision is made to regroup elsewhere and form a new plan.

Evelyn, Vera, and Mikael head out to find an inn, eventually coming to a popular adventurer's spot known as "The Quest Stop" Tavern & Inn. They are greeted warmly by the owners Alexandria Arroway and her husband, the famous bard Davtiln Arroway whom Evelyn is a fan. Nymeria, If, and Ignis go shopping for supplies and get sidetracked: Nymeria finds an owlbear plush and beholder puppet among other goodies, and Ignis visits a pawn shop to verify the integrity of an ornate tonfa, to the chagrin of the shopkeeper.

Nymeria suddenly ducks into various alleyways to follow strangers hiding in the darkness, eventually discovering an invisible man whom she greets joyously. Caught off guard and feeling desperate, the invisible man asks the druid's help before If intervenes. The invisible man recognizes If's voice, and identifies himself as none other than their old companion Ichthyarbourus Fel. He explains Alicia Van Osternburg's life is in peril, and reveals Juno Cytheria as the fourth bastard child of Baron Tymorus Van Osternberg... the same Juno Cytheria who now commands the house of Alicia Van Osternburg. With tentative trust in their former friend-turned-fugitive, If and Nymeria lead Fel towards the others, intent on breaking into the fortified mansion at the top of the hill...
