I don't play Project Sekai very much anymore. Even so, I feel attached to the character Mizuki Akiyama. It's to the point where even if I don't play the hame anymore, I still read her event dialogues.

And this is because Mizuki is amazing transgender representation.

It's not a gag. It's not obscure game trivia. The experiences and feelings behind the transgender experience is something the story deliberately explores through this character.

It so surprising to me because I never expected a HATSUNE MIKU RHYTHM GACHA MOBILE GAME to have amazing queer representation

Maybe it's because I'm not used to anime-styled content feeling "real." Queer topics are never addressed. Everybody in the cast is an idealized collection of gimmicks. Any themes are relatively shallow. By contrast, Project Sekai goes SO hard--- touching on depression, suicidal ideation, crumbling under expectations, perfectionism, and the transgender experience.

Akito and Ena are both ☆gamers☆. Akito plays all types of games and is a normal person about said games, while Ena only likes niche rpg maker horror games (Ib, The Witches House, etc.) and Akito is scared of them (he won’t admit it)

i think ready steady has the dumbest master chart in pjsk. it feels so wrong and amateur and it doesn’t feel like i’m playing it to the rhythm of the dang song. the flick notes during the chorus feel so strange. yes i just FC’d it today but the chart feels like an affront in of itself.
