@kalli-kalli and I made a bloodpact (totally normal thing for women to do btw happens all the time) for our pixel-boyfriend-drawoff-challenge: 7 days of 10, 10-minute sketches of our pixel boyfriend. Mine is clearly Astarion. Or maybe not clearly, because THIS IS FUCKING HARD. I consider myself a decent artist. I SUCK at this so far and I hate his stupid little perfect face. But after drawing him in the least flattering angle I could find, it's a little less daunting. Fingers crossed tomorrow looks more like him.

I would definitely say the bloodpact helped me 😭 @serieslush it’s time for bloodpact #2! Gonna draw lots more of this beautiful man!!

10, 10-minute sketches. I forgot how frustrating this is. I'm so slow again!! But @kalli-kalli I have fulfilled Day 1 of the second bloodpact: no full-frontal, only some kind of angled view. I can only go up from here, right? Right?

How many pages did that take, you ask, to get Astarion the way I wanted, even though you didn't ask? This many. This many pages are taken up with sketches of my stupid pixel boyfriend. And I'm about to add 70 more sketches. @kalli-kalli , I'm ready for bloodpact #2.

Last day of 10, 10-minute not-full-frontal Astarion sketches. It was so hard!! I was so terrible that I almost quit after page 1. But I think 5, 8, and 9 were salvageable.

Day 6 of pixel-boyfriend-drawoff-challenge. I have done 60 drawings and spent 10 hours all together staring at this stupid beautiful fake man and I think it's finally paying off. My favorite is bitey kiss. One. More. Day.

I forgot to post day 7!!! I technically finished it on day 8 so the bloodpact is going to drink me dry now 😭 I feel very accomplished after this one. I think even more than the front facing. The end. Time for bloodpact #3 @serieslush

Day 5 of pixel-boyfriend-drawoff-challenge with @kalli-kalli and my darling Astarion. I think it finally looks like him. About 50-50 but making progress!

I caught up and promptly fell behind 😭 why does life always get in the way. The bloodpact gods are going to take me!!! Anyway here is my #51-60 of the not full-frontal pixel boyfriend draw off challenge.

I feel like there are a few on here that are actually pretty good!! 😩 @serieslush I’m gonna try to do my last 10 tonight. We’ll see if I pass out instead LOL!!

Finished day 4 of the pixel boyfriend drawathon (angles) yesterday!! I think 30-40 is where my brain finally clicked his freaking proportions a little bit better! Still not great, or even good, really. But I’m getting somewhere! @serieslush I think I’m finally not going to be behind a day! Weekends get in the way of my drawing.

Day 5 of 10, 10-minute not-full-frontal Astarion sketches.

I think I might finally be getting it. My recommendation: start with the tip of the nose and base all your angles off that. His nose is so distinctive and perfect that if you f that up, you're f'd.

But I finally love his stupid face again. And I might draw a big one of 9 because I love it.

Day 3 of 10, 10-minute Astarion drawings. Today was haaaaarrrrrdddddd I don't know why *distant sobbing*

Day 4 of pixel-boyfriend-drawoff-challenge. Halfway there! Getting more recognizable I think? A little less rough. I don't hate his stupid perfect face as much.

Day 2 of 10, 10-minute Astarion drawings. Better than yesterday.

Big fan of overly confident #4 and the panicked #7.

Pixel-boyfriend-drawoff-challenge concluded (without murders!). There's some bg3 upcoming ones in the works! Let me or @kalli-kalli know if you want in! If you're not female, it's a really easy form to complete to gain access to bloodpacts for the next 10 years (might be freemium. Guess you'll find out when you fill out the form!). Keep an eye on that expiration date though. Blood rules are blood rules.

This drawing was completely memory, no photo reference or previous drawings, still under 10 minutes. It's ok. I think I can now look at it and see where I went wrong. We'll try again in the morning (DnD planning calls)

That's it. I've fulfilled the pact @kalli-kalli . 70, 10-minute thumbnails of my dearest Astarion. 11 hours and 4 minutes. BUT #9 was drawn without a reference so I think I've gotten decent at him.

Lessons learned: What your brain thinks is true is different from reality. Draw every day and you'll get better. Less is more. Necks make a difference. Position of ears tells a lot about how a face is turned. I love teeffs and ears and those eyebrows.
