▸      WHAT’S    THEIR    HAIR    LIKE ? Rukia has somewhat wavy black hair. The majority of the wave comes at the ends of her hair, where it flips in several directions. When she was growing up, Rukia had no access to hair products so she just let her hair fall where it was. That’s how her center bang came about. After moving from the Rukon district, Rukia decided she liked the bang in her face, It’s also a personal reminder for her of where she came from. 

▸     DO    THEY    SPEND    A    LOT    OF    TIME    ON    THEIR    HAIR     /    GROOMING ? No, not really. She brushes her hair out and that’s pretty much it. Rukia is pretty low maintenance about her hair. She does prefer to be clean and will shower/personal groom frequently if possible. Another privilege of no longer living in the Rukon district.

▸      DOES   YOUR   MUSE   CARE   ABOUT   THEIR   APPEARANCE   /   WHAT    OTHERS    THINK ? At first, Rukia could not care less what others thought of her. Where she grew up, it was a little dangerous to be attractive anyway so she spent very little time concerned with that others thought of her appearance. She was more concerned with her skills. After being adopted by the Kuchiki family, Rukia had to learn and maintian the rigourous conduct standards of her clan so as not to bring shame. - so the very few times she interacts with nobility, Rukia does her best not to embarrass her brother (which is who she cares about anyway). But other than that, no, she doesn’t overly concern herself with these things.

Tendency to be a workaholic (or train-aholic??) because she feels she isn’t as strong as her friends so will forego eating and sleeping to train harder.

▸      HAS    YOUR    MUSE    LOST    ANYONE    CLOSE    TO    THEM ?      HOW    HAS    IT    AFFECTED    THEM ? Oof. Rukia’s past is very traumatic. When she lived in the Rukon district with Renji, she lost several friends at a young age. Rukia was slower to build bonds with others as a response to this. Then when they joined the Academy and the Kuchiki family adopted her, Renji effectively stopped talking to her, causing Rukia to lose the only true friend she had that could understand her. That honestly broke her heart though she refused to let anyone see it. Instead, Rukia devoted herself to training and being a Soul Reaper, hardening her heart to friendships. Kaien was able to break through that and Rukia felt hopeful that she had found a friend and mentor that seemed to see past everything and into who she really was as a person. Then Kaien died and, worse, Rukia is the one who physically killed him, again taking away the one person that could reach out to her. Byakuya refused to even make eye contact with her so even though she lived in a fancy house filled with nobles, servants, etc, it was the loneliest she had ever felt. She “dealt” (and I use that term loosely) with Kaien’s death alone. Rukia once again, put up ice around her heart, refusing to get attached to anything. She coped by volunteering for mission after mission which Ukitake took pity on her and allowed her to do. It wasn’t until she met Ichigo that Rukia felt the walls of ice around her heart start to melt away slowly.  

▸      WHAT    ARE    SOME    FOND    MEMORIES    YOUR    MUSE    HAS ? Rukia has a few fond memories of her childhood, mostly revolving around Renji and their friends. She remembers late nights when Renji would sit down at the base of the tree Rukia had climbed and they just talked - about everything. They would talk about their pasts, perhaps strategize a way to get more food, or make fun of the way the adults acted around them. Sometimes, they would talk about what they would do to fix the hellhole they lived in. 

Other times, Rukia would have a hard time staying sleep. None of the kids slept deeply since they never knew when danger may come, but Rukia especially was prone to nightmares. Renji would hear her and quietly comfort her until she fell back to sleep. He never told her he did this and Rukia pretended she didn’t remember. 

▸     IS    IT    EASY    FOR    YOUR    MUSE    TO    KILL ?

No, Rukia takes killing very seriously even when it’s an enemy. This isn’t to say she is unable or unwilling to kill. She can kill and has killed. But Rukia doesn’t take it lightly by any means. 

▸      WHAT’S    IT    LIKE    WHEN    YOUR    MUSE    BREAKS    DOWN ? Rukia doesn’t allow anyone to see her breakdown. For so long, she’s only been able to rely on herself that it’s hard for her to trust letting anyone see that vulnerable side of her. Renji has seen it once or twice when they were children but that’s it. Even around Ichigo, Rukia is hesitant to let herself breakdown. 

▸      IS    YOUR    MUSE    CAPABLE    OF    TRUSTING    SOMEONE    WITH    THEIR    LIFE ? Yes but it is very slow. Rukia only trusts very few people with her life, that being Ichigo, Renji, and Byakuya. Even with their other friends, Rukia would trust them to fight side by side but still doesn’t entirely let them in to that degree.

▸      WHAT’S    YOUR    MUSE    LIKE    WHEN    THEY’RE    IN    LOVE ? When Rukia is in love, she’s really slow to realize it. She stays in denial about it for a while and even then, continues to think there must be some other reason. She’s not used to talking about emotion so really mushy gushy crap would make her a bit uncomfortable, although she’s not opposed to romance, just organically and not super over the top. But once she comes to terms with her feelings, she is very attentive but not clingy. Don’t Move In There

Have you ever been tempted to feel sorry for yourself? They say that melancholy personalities are more prone to self-pity. For sure this personality weighs everything, mulling over, ‘is it worth it or not?’ I have wrestled with this all my life. The melancholy part of my personality coupled with the abuse was always tempted with self-pity— the ‘victim mentality.’ Obviously I’m not alone, Heman the Ezrahite who wrote this text scripture felt the same.

“No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man…” 1Corinthians 10:13ESV, establishes the fact— we are all tempted in the same ways. Why do temptations come? Doesn’t temptation always lead to sin? We’re never going to be tempted by something which our personalities and past doesn’t lean towards to begin with. Take the alcoholic— usually a person raised in a home where addiction, perhaps to alcohol, drugs, food, rage or control ruled and reigned. Temptation to drown sorrows and pain in alcohol then overwhelm and override the common sense to not drink more than one drink.

For the person whose life has known —rejection, heartache, fear, anxiety the desire to control everyone and everything— desire for control over freewill takes over. There’s a young teenager who has lived separate years with an alcoholic parent, then a rage-aholic parent. Rejected by ‘father’ shortly after birth, ‘teenager’ seeks to control everything which happens in life, in home; where ‘parent’ is allowed to go, and what ‘parent’ is allowed to do; what happens in ‘siblings’ lives. What looks like a very organized and mature teen is actually a very wounded child looking to prevent any further pain or abuse by controlling the lives of everyone else. Self-pity is out of control with manipulation tactics.

Oswald Chambers has enormous amounts of wisdom and insight. He wrote of temptation in My Utmost for His Highest, September 17— “Temptation is a suggested short cut to the realization of the highest at which I aim— not towards what I understand as evil, but towards what I understand as good. Temptation is something that completely baffles me for a while, I do not know whether the thing is right or wrong. Temptation yielded to is lust DEIFIED, and is proof that it was timidity that prevented the sin before.” (my emphasis.) What is becoming ‘god’ in our lives?

The further I walk emotionally away from self-pity, control, and anger, the more absolute peace I have. Yielding my will, plans, and desires has brought answers to prayer which have been long awaited.

As I’m reading through the Psalms again, God is highlighting to me— we all have temptations, fears, and feelings of self-pity. Yes, like Heman the Ezrahite, telling God our feelings is fine……. but DON’T MOVE IN THERE WITH THE FEELINGS. God “…is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us,” Ephesians 3:20NIV. Telling Him the feelings— fine. But don’t neglect to praise Him for the coming victory over those fears and feelings. Then we will see what we say, what we pray for and what we believe come to pass. It’s your choice. You choose.

LET’S PRAY: Papa God thank You for allowing us to tell You our feelings and emotions. Praise You for being bigger than those feelings and emotions. Praise You for being able to relieve those feelings and emotions, answer our prayers and calm the storms within. Help us to not move in with those feelings and emotions, and to share Your goodness with others, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

So, all of the main cast but Sans is dead, and there is no king to rule the Underground. Thus, the Underground fell into anarchy, where only the strongest are allowed to survive. Imagine an Underground similar to the one in Underfell (without the edge) and Horrortale (without the body-horror and mutations). I was thinking maybe your Sans got his transceiver stolen, or maybe, even my Sans took it in a desperate attempt to escape the timeline, but then had a change of heart later on because he realized he was turning into a really bad person and because he noticed that even if he jumped into another universe he’d never see any of the original people again, and seeing how this was already the case with Gaster he realizes how he doesn’t even want that either. 

But maybe, he only comes to that conclusion when he another monster notices the potential of your Sans’ abilities, and who then wants to take advantage of him not much unlike my Sans himself (maybe an Alphys that somehow didn’t commit suicide as it was implied, but just vanished and got reaaally dark and desperate) So, while your Sans was actually on really bad terms with mine in the beginning, trying to get his transceiver back and all,  in the end, instead of being a selfish ahole, my Sans actually steps in to protect your’s from that other monster’s attack, returning the transceiver to him with his dying breath. Honestly, I don’t know. I just had something similar in my mind when writing my drabble so I thought I should let you know. ]

The skeleton was on his knees. He wasn’t a hero. Or at least, he had never perceived himself as one. Hero work was better left to the less cowardly, the less level-headed characters that thought it was worth to throw away your life for the next best thing that they believed in. Yet that didn’t change the fact that he was on his knees right here and right now, with crimson ribbons sprawling their deadly wings across his chest and running into a lake below his feet. What a pitiful way to go, slain by another monster, not even an enemy he’d been willing to fight. At least, he’d bite the dust without regrets, since he had nothing left to lose anymore. 

His consciousness fading by the seconds, it took him a moment to realize that he was being talked to. Once he did, however, his set of dull eye lights flickered up as they sought to focus on the voice that had yanked him out of his train of thoughts. Was it begging him not to die? An impossible request, too hilarious to be taken seriously. And what better way to shatter the other’s illusions than through blatant realism, through cynical laughter emphasized by words of truth that came out as heavy panting instead of the full bass he’d usually speak in: 

“heh. looks like plans are already set for today’s activities. sorry, pal.“ 

But even if he couldn’t escape death’s door this time, there was something, someone else that his sacrifice would help to do just that. With that eternal grin still sticking to his skull, he stretched out his determination stained left, skeletal hands clasping one another, as he slid the transceiver into his alternate’s palm. “hey, don’t make such a face, buddy. it’s worth it, trust me. you’ll get to escape like you wanted and, uh, find yourself a better timeline to stay in.” He winked at his other self, attempting to give off a comical vibe, before he dropped that act as well, and bluntly revealed the true depths of the despair that his metaphorical heart was filled with in the face of this universe’s dire outlooks; the entirety of his breakdown being mirrored by nothing but that eerie expression that was working its way across his face and that proceeded to mercilessly eradicate the mask of nonchalance he usually hid behind, when he was not busy dying. 

“personally, i’ve got nothing left to lose. everyone’s dead or crazy, the kiddo won’t reset and the underground’s gone to hell. so, uh, do yourself a favor and take the bone i’m throwing ya.” Even as Sans voice cracked, as his body began to crumble, crushed by his own weight, emotionally and physically, it felt great to state the facts with nothing but painful honesty for once. After all, there was no denial, that he was becoming too much for his fractured soul to bear. Still, in a twisted way, this was the most at peace that he had felt in a long, long time. He was dying, yes. But to him, death had grown into a promise of reunion, instead of a monument to fear. 

Only through his death, he’d be able to meet his friends again. Only through his death, he’d be allowed to spend time with his beloved brother once more. Thus, a genuine smile adorned his face as he turned to dust, as his physical shape decomposed and faded away into thousands upon thousands of tiny particles. Eventually, his alternate was left with nothing but those worn-out, crimson soaked clothes, that lay on the ground in an untidy mess, and the echo of Sans’ splintering soul, there to haunt him for all eternity.
