While we waited for our post-walk treat, we sat outside and worked on our "leave it" and our sit/stay as people walked by. I'd like to remind everyone that even if you have a dog at home, you should ALWAYS ask the handler for consent before putting your hand in a strange dog's face. It doesn't matter if the dog SEEMS friendly. The handler may be working on commands, or the dog may be overstimulated, or the dog may simply have a hair trigger that isn't obvious. Today was a #familyouting where the whole family worked on #leashskills. It's so very important to be on the same page with both her commands and her triggers. We had a good #sniffy walk, followed by a training walk, followed by a special treat (ice cream for us and whipped cream for her).
