gentle touch of morning
( a small scarian epic au piece <3 reblogs do more than likes! )
It’s funny.
Over the twelve long years Scar spent fighting, leading his men into battle, the thought that kept him going was his eventual homecoming. Every waking thought was of his husband and son, and Scar’s reason for living, for breathing, was his family. As he sailed rocky waters, faced monsters and gods alike, lost men after men, Scar wished for nothing more than to be home, to awake with his husband sleeping beside him.
But as he stands in his home, the one he most intimately knows, Scar feels… wrong. Out of place. He’d woken up early, savoring the sight of Grian’s sleeping face (he could never get tired of it), and felt so restless that staying in bed for any longer seemed impossible. So Scar took to walking around his home.
He and Grian built this place up, together. The memories are some that Scar looks back on fondly. He could never forget it, no matter how much time he spent away from it. Scar only fears that it has forgotten him.
Scar takes easy steps, walking and reacquainting himself. He notes the pictures, most of them being of his son. He hardly sees Grian in any of them, perhaps one or two, less than a handful. And the ones that Grian is in, his smile doesn’t light up his face. It makes Scar frown.
He wanders for a bit, traversing each winding hallway with careful movements. It’s as if he fears the house may collapse at any moment, or some attacker may jump from the shadows, perhaps a god will catch him off guard and finish him off. Not even in his home does he feel the full safety he’s supposed to. These walls feel foreign, unfamiliar. Even if he can picture everything clearly in his mind, knows this place like the back of his hand. Scar still feels like a stranger.
Eventually, he finds himself in the kitchen. He pauses in the doorway, catching sight of another person.
His son.
His little Pitta.
Well, not as little anymore, as a young boy at fourteen. But to Scar it still feels like he’s just an infant that he could cradle in his arms. Another thing time robbed him of. So many missed moments, opportunities, to watch his son grow. And while Scar knows that there are still many years to come, to see, a piece of him mourns the time he lost.
For a moment, Scar keeps quiet. He watches his son, taking in his dark brown hair and hazel colored eyes. He’s the striking image of both Scar and Grian somehow, even if they aren’t related to him. But Scar loves him all the same; would move mountains to give him whatever he needed. He can’t help but wonder what kind of person his son is, what he likes and dislikes. Does he resent Scar for leaving? Does he consider Scar his father, or a stranger who left a loving husband alone for years on end? He doesn’t want to find out. Not now.
Scar stands there until he can’t anymore, finding hazel eyes landing on him. He watches the way in which Pitta’s eyes light up, turning all shiny and bright when he notices his father. He turns away from the counter, abandoning the slices of bread he had taken out. He smiles, and gods, does his smile look like Grian’s. “Papa!” Pitta greets, the timbre of his voice cheerful and soft.
“Hey, Pitta,” Scar returns, heart melting each time he’s reminded that he’s finally returned home. He never thought it would happen, that maybe it’d take him longer, or maybe something would strike him down on the way back. But against all odds, fourteen years, and Scar is home. His son stands in front of him.
“What’re you doing awake? Is dad up too?” Pitta questions, raising a brow at him.
“Uh…” Scar blanks, unsure of what to say. It’s not like he’s going to tell the truth, Pitta shouldn’t have to worry about him. Scar has already caused him enough pain, there’s no need to cause more now that he’s actually here. “Gria— your dad’s still asleep,” he stammers. The words feel awkward on his tongue, like they shouldn’t be there. This life of domesticity… he doesn’t know how to go about it. It isn’t just some enemy he can cut down.
The very thought makes him nauseous.
“Oh!” Pitta blinks at the response. “Well, that’s… good.” He nods to himself awkwardly, and Scar hides a grimace.
He… really doesn’t know how to interact with his son.
There’s this dark curdling of doubt in his mind that begins to creep up, settling over him. He’s afraid. Worried that this is one thing he’ll never overcome. It’s a familiar feeling, an old friend, a once enemy turned begrudging shadow. It’s a feeling he experienced in battle, traversing home, taking his castle back from scoundrels that dare to stain it. But there is a new fear that joins it, overwhelming like a tidal wave.
Does he even know how to be a father?
Scar feels his breath sharpen just a tad, skipping a beat and hastening. He can feel hands curling around his throat, beginning to press into his skin. He feels it tightening on him, the grip firm. The pressure starts off as something light, until the fingers of Fear dig deeper with each shakingly quiet breath. It gets stronger and stronger, straining his lungs until he can feel his throat being squeezed, choked.
“Papa?” Pitta’s voice breaks him from the spiraling thoughts, from the overwhelming fear sneaking in.
The hands around his neck relax, and the terror recedes, sinking back into the depths of his mind momentarily. He allows himself a moment to breathe, a chance to suck in a soft breath and recenter. His vision clears, and he becomes aware of the way his heartbeat pounds in his ears, loud like a drum.
He manages a smile, “I’m uh, gonna go check and see if our Sleeping Beauty is awake.” Keeping his eyes trained on his son, Scar tries to maintain his light smile. He takes a few small steps back, slipping into a casual mask. He’s gotten quite good at it over the years of putting on a brave face. “Be right back.”
Pitta watches him, brows creasing in concern as he goes. “Oh… okay,” he answers, sounding resigned as Scar retreats.
Scar turns around, and brings himself back to the beautiful olive tree where his Grian is fast asleep. The sun shines down on him, cutting through the green leaves. The light spills into their bed, painting a halo in the soft yet sandy blond locks of Grian’s hair. He rests in their bed, eyes shut and face relaxed. His body is curled somewhat, the blanket tucked just over his shoulders.
Staring at him, taking in the near angelic sight, Scar takes a few breaths to calm himself. He walks over to their bed, sitting down on the edge, right beside Grian. He contents himself with just sitting there, watching the rise and fall of Grian’s chest. It feels a little easier to breathe, with the love of his life right here, peaceful. Scar can almost allow himself to pretend he lives in a world where he never went to war, where he never had to leave his family behind. He can almost allow himself to pretend he was the husband and father he should have been.
Chest aching and overflowing with doubt and regret, Scar reaches out. Tenderly, Scar brushes some of Grian’s hair away from his face. He ever so softly tangles his fingers in the silky strands as he rhythmically cards through his hair. Scar’s expression softens, chest swelling with love for the man before him. He drags the pads of his fingertips along Grian’s head, feeling the soft locks under his touch.
He can’t imagine what it was like, doing so much alone for so long. Scar has always believed Grian to be strong, the strongest person he knows. But this? Scar doesn’t think anyone could compare, not even the gods.
Not in the way it matters, at least.
His thumb idly strokes Grian’s cheekbone, loving and sweet. “I’d be lost without you, my light,” he murmurs. Because it’s true. Scar would’ve given up a long, long time ago if he didn’t have Grian and Pitta to come home to. Grian is his rock, his eye of the storm, his compass. Scar is caught within Grian’s orbit, forever wrapped up in him. There’s nothing he wouldn’t do for this man. Grian kept their home in one piece. He raised their son. He handled whatever it was that Scar couldn’t in his time away. Grian held out hope for fourteen years that Scar would come back to him.
Scar owes him everything and more. But most importantly, Scar owes him his love. And by the gods will he offer every last ounce of it, every drop. Scar is a man. No general, and certainly no hero. He is just a man who wants to pour his heart and soul out for his spouse. Scar is just a man in love.
Beneath his touch, Grian’s face twitches, and he begins to stir. “Mmm… Scar?” he mumbles, still groggy and waking up.
“Good morning, my love.” Scar smiles at him, brushing away a particular curl of hair before stroking his cheek. “Sleep well?”
“‘ink so, yes. It was warm with you,” Grian answers, leaning into the hand on his cheek. “What’re you awake for?”
Scar pauses, if only briefly. “Uh, well, y’know. Just admiring my pretty husband while I have the chance,” he answers, which isn’t entirely a lie.
Grian looks at him with clear suspicion, but doesn’t push. Instead, he sighs quietly as pushes himself to sit up. “You can do that when I’m awake too,” he teases, leaning to press their lips together. Scar is more than happy to sink into it, using the hand on Grian’s cheek to angle his head slightly, deepening it. The kiss is sweet, loving. It’s slow and patient, carrying the patience of fourteen years within it.
When they pull away, Scar rests their foreheads together. “I guess I can, yeah,” he agrees softly. “Mind if I take a few more minutes to admire him?”
Grian smiles, kissing the corner of his mouth in return. “I suppose.” Scar simply smiles, and gods is he happy to be home. No amount of fear could ever leave him unhappy to be back with the loves of his life. Never.

Ayurvedic Secrets to Radiant Skin: Understanding Your Dosha and Simple Homemade Skincare
In the pursuit of healthy, glowing skin, many of us seek solutions in expensive creams, serums, and treatments. But what if the key to vibrant skin lies in ancient wisdom that's been practiced for centuries?
Welcome to the world of Ayurveda, where the holistic approach to skincare goes beyond topical treatments to address the root causes of skin imbalances.
What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda, often called the "science of life," is an ancient healing system that originated in India thousands of years ago. At its core is the belief that our well-being is intricately connected to the balance of three fundamental energies known as doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.
Understanding Your Dosha:
Each person is born with a unique combination of these doshas, which influence not only our physical characteristics but also our mental and emotional tendencies. By identifying your dominant dosha, you can tailor your skincare routine to address specific skin concerns effectively.
Vata Dosha: If you have Vata-dominant skin, you may notice tendencies toward dryness, flakiness, and sensitivity. Vata skin often feels parched and is prone to premature aging. To nurture Vata skin, focus on moisturizing and nourishing practices.
Skincare Routine: Massage your skin with warm sesame oil to deeply moisturize and improve circulation. Use gentle, hydrating cleansers and rich, emollient creams to lock in moisture.
Homemade Recipe: Create a hydrating face mask by mixing mashed avocado with honey and a few drops of almond oil. Leave it on for 15 minutes before rinsing with warm water.
Pitta Dosha: Pitta-dominant skin tends to be sensitive, prone to redness, inflammation, and occasional breakouts. Excessive heat and stress can exacerbate Pitta imbalances, leading to increased oiliness and irritation.
Skincare Routine: Opt for cooling and soothing ingredients like cucumber, aloe vera, and sandalwood. Use gentle, non-abrasive cleansers and avoid harsh exfoliants that can aggravate inflammation.
Homemade Recipe: Make a calming face pack by mixing sandalwood powder with rose water and a pinch of turmeric. Apply it to clean skin, leave it on for 15 minutes, then rinse with cool water.
Kapha Dosha: Kapha-dominant skin tends to be oily, prone to congestion, and enlarged pores. Kapha imbalances can result in dullness, blackheads, and a lack of vitality.
Skincare Routine: Focus on purifying and detoxifying practices to balance excess oil and congestion. Use gentle, oil-balancing cleansers and lightweight, non-comedogenic moisturizers.
Homemade Recipe: Create an invigorating scrub by mixing ground oats with yogurt and a pinch of turmeric. Gently massage it onto damp skin in circular motions, then rinse with lukewarm water.
General Ayurvedic Skincare Tips: In addition to dosha-specific practices, there are some general principles of Ayurvedic skincare that benefit all skin types:
Practice Abhyanga, or self-massage with warm oil, to promote relaxation and improve circulation.
Drink herbal teas like chamomile or tulsi to reduce internal inflammation and support overall well-being.
Maintain a balanced lifestyle with adequate sleep, regular exercise, and stress management to promote skin health from the inside out.
Ayurveda offers a holistic approach to skincare that emphasizes harmony between mind, body, and spirit. By understanding your dosha and incorporating simple, homemade remedies into your skincare routine, you can unlock the secrets to radiant and healthy skin naturally. Remember, consistency and mindfulness are key to achieving lasting results. So, embrace the wisdom of Ayurveda and let your inner glow shine through!
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need further guidance on your Ayurvedic skincare journey.

🥒🌶🥬 According to Ayurveda, one of the ways we can encourage balance in our mind-body type is through the foods we eat. Whether you’re a Pitta who could use some cooling, a Kapha in need of stimulation, or a Vata who requires grounding, we’ve got a hummus recipe to help bring you back to center. 🙏
Vata ☁️
To balance and pacify Vata, foods that are sweet, sour, and salty are best. 🍋 These tastes will help ground and warm Vata’s naturally cold and airy nature. Beets are naturally sweet and provide a grounding effect for the naturally airy Vata. With a side of pita chips, with limited or even no beans, this hummus recipe is ideal for Vata.
Pitta 🔥
To balance and soothe Pitta, it’s recommended to gravitate toward foods with the taste quality of bitter, sweet, and astringent. This helps to cool and calm Pitta’s innate fiery energy. 💦 This recipe uses lime instead of the traditional lemon because lemon irritates the already acidic Pitta digestion while lime juice has a cooling effect.
Kapha 🌿
To balance and invigorate Kaphas' earthy and grounded nature, foods with bitter, pungent, and astringent qualities are best. With both bitter and astringent qualities, artichoke hearts are the perfect match to garbanzo beans and will create a dry lightness for Kaphas. Add a little heat to spice things up and you have the perfect hummus recipe to get Kapha moving. 🌶

Sri Vaidya Ayurveda Panchkarma Naturopathy Care
Sri Vaidya Ayurveda and Naturopathy: A Holistic Approach to Health and Wellness
Ayurveda and Naturopathy are two of the world’s oldest and most comprehensive systems of natural healing. Both focus on the balance of the body, mind, and spirit to achieve overall well-being. Sri Vaidya Ayurveda and Naturopathy, with its dedication to holistic healing, brings together the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda and the healing principles of Naturopathy to offer a unique, integrative approach to health and wellness.
Understanding Ayurveda and Naturopathy
What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda, which translates to “the science of life,” is a 5,000-year-old healing system that originated in India. Rooted in the belief that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between mind, body, and spirit, Ayurveda emphasizes prevention and promotes a balance between these elements. The system operates on the belief that the universe is made up of five elements: air, water, fire, earth, and ether. These elements combine in the human body to form three primary life forces or energies, known as doshas: Vata (air and ether), Pitta (fire and water), and Kapha (water and earth).
Ayurvedic Hospital in Delhi India Each person’s dosha is unique, and Ayurveda teaches that maintaining harmony between them is the key to health. When one or more of these doshas become imbalanced due to diet, lifestyle, or environmental factors, it results in disease or illness. Ayurvedic treatments, such as herbal medicine, dietary changes, yoga, and meditation, are aimed at restoring this balance and promoting self-healing.
What is Naturopathy?
Naturopathy is a system of healing that focuses on natural remedies to help the body heal itself. It promotes lifestyle changes and the use of natural therapies like diet, exercise, and herbal medicine to address health issues. The philosophy of Naturopathy is based on the body’s ability to heal itself, given the right conditions. Rather than simply treating the symptoms of an illness, Naturopathy seeks to address the root cause of health problems by considering the physical, emotional, and environmental factors that may be affecting a person’s well-being.
Ayurvedic Hospital in Delhi India
Naturopathy encourages a healthy lifestyle, stress management, detoxification, and a balanced diet as essential components of health. Therapies such as hydrotherapy, acupuncture, and herbal treatments are often incorporated into naturopathic care to support the body’s natural healing processes.
Sri Vaidya Ayurveda and Naturopathy: The Integration of Two Healing Sciences
Sri Vaidya Ayurveda and Naturopathy aims to combine the best of both Ayurvedic and Naturopathic practices to offer holistic healthcare. This center focuses on treating the individual as a whole, recognizing the interconnectedness of the body, mind, and spirit. By blending Ayurveda’s ancient wisdom with Naturopathy’s modern principles of natural healing, Sri Vaidya offers an effective path to wellness.

Rewatch of Only Murders In The Building to prepare for season 4 (IIII)
<Part I> // <Part II> // <Part III>
Block #OMITBRewatch if you don’t want to read notes that will have spoilers up to seasons 3. Just to make it clear, while quoting, I use M, O, C for the main characters.
Also I’m putting this under a read more because it gets long.
S2 E3
C: "I kissed Bunny on the lips" and that saying after he mentioned that Bunny is potentially his sister.
Oh, right. It's Bunny's last day.
Bunny: "I can't belive this is my last day. As board president."
Aww, Bunny :(
Love how the main three re-tell what happened to their fan-club.
Nina learned a lot from Bunny.
Uma and Bunny are such good friends, it's cute.
Bunny: "Is that your cute way of saying you don't want me to go?" Uma: "No, go. You know I have a key. Maybe I'll go into your place and wear all your stuff." Bunny: "Fuck you." Uma: "Fuck you."
It's fun how everyone seem to love Bunny if they aren't living at the Arconia.
She is giving that waiter so much money to fullfill his dream.
And as Mable says, she is a badass.
And Charles says "What would we do without you?"
Both of that just gave Bunny a boost.
And then she is instantly reminded that it's her last day. The one thing she always loved to do... the one thing she lived for.
Incredible... also Howard is great at taking minutes.
"And Nina shows her true face."
Please invite her in! Please! ;_;
Go to her Apartment! Invite her!
There had been three instances at which they could have saved Bunny.
S2 E4
I wondered if Lucy appears in S2 or S3 and it's season 2 which makes sense.
"She is an angel in Flip Flops, pitta putta!"
A wheelchair and a touch of dementia... how did the studio plan to redcon that? In case Charles is innocent?
Oh Oliver... your son needs you.
Oh look it's Teddy.
Oliver: "So... how is prison?" Teddy: "Actually... Transformative. I don't know if you konw Master Han, but he's helped me realize... I don't have to act on my thoughts." O: "Ah." Teddy: "For example, right now, the thought of ringing your neck, really stimulates my root chakra, but it's probably not worth losing three of my mindfulness badges." O: "Ah. Th-that's... That's good..."
O: "Well, I guess I'll see you around." Teddy: "Oh, definietly. Because I'm going to fuck you, Oliver." O: "Excuse me?" Teddy: "I'm going to fuck you. I'm not sure... when or how quite yet, but I'm going to fuck you. Hard. Harder than you've ever been fucked before. In a way you won't see coming. Until one day, you'll slip your knubby little fingers into one of my dips you love so much and realize... you're choking. Choking on a big heaping bowl... of fuck." O: *snort* Teddy: "Namaste."
Teddy is awful but holy shit he is hardcore.
I love how Mabel now is supposed to talk with the teen and then, being almost 30. also doesn't understand anything. Same though. DSM-5; 100 gecs (never heard of them except for omitb)
The knife in the ceiling is such a crazy thing...
Yay Lucy!
I love stuff like that... passage ways and caves and bunker...
The design changes to the Arconia are so ugly...
That is tragic... but that is all on you Teddy. You should have protected your son instead of using him.
The whole episode is about parent-children relationships.
Oliver being there for his son.
Lucy saw someone in the walls.
Jan is a freak.
S2 E5
Ah, the iphone ring tone
"Son of Sam"... we used to play that but it's call "murder at the disco".
Also fun that Teddy and Oliver knew each other since they had been... teens? early 20s?
So... I guess Teddy had learned how to hide his tells from Oliver? On the other hand, Tedd had not been Tim Kono's killer.
Lmao... Jan is a freak. But why waste internet time on TikTok? Use the 10 min of internet for pornhub. That is a better use of that data.
It's kind of clicheé to ask another murderer for help... like... hmmm "Silence of the lambs"? Ever heard of it?
Oh shit, I just remembered the secret that Will does not know about.
The two old white men talking american politics and having another bestie moment while Mabel just wants to figure out the clue.
Great, that the fanclub hears about the secret passageways.
O: "Our fans! You rascals."
I have to admit I wondered if Alice was the killer too. Because she fit the "profile". And I guess also because I did not really like her? She is a great red herring.
The fans actually seeing it all as a story and not reality...
Lmao Charles being protective about Mabel.
Alice: "Can I say I couldn't be more excited to meet the both of you?" C: "Oh!" Alice: "And hold on. Charles, were you not in..." M: "Here we go." Alice: "... that swedish movie, with the tempestous throuple that go camping and torture each other with orgasms?" Charles: "You saw 'Encounter at Uppsala'? I played the park ranger." Alice: "Fabulously, by the way. If it were anyone else's hands, it would have just been an average peeping tom. It's one of the most memorable half-scenes of the entire film. Honestly."
There is so much about that sentence alone to talk about. xD Like, How many memorable half-scenes wher ein this erotic swedish movie? Charles hands? Did you even see his face? Also how big is the chance that if Oliver had learned that Charles would have had *another* part in the movie he would instantly google it? Also how did Charles get the part in a swedish movie?
O: "And how did you see this movie?" Alice: "I took a class on deviant sexuality in Scandinavian cinema."
WHERE? also was it a british or an american class and did your professor call it deviant and why?
This is Olivers episode.
Also how he tells Charles that he is as uncomfortable as he always looks and then leaves him be to be completely uncomfortable between a bunch of people he does not know and then Charles instantly makes an ass out of himself.
Alice: "This is demented. I'm in." ... yeah no.
with murder at the disco, the one who wrongly accused someone would also die.
It's crazy that Oliver got the murderer in the game wrong... makes you wonder... also Mable was the son of sam?
I guess it's easy to lie about your life back in England when you're in New York.
... oh Charles...
Lol, are they aware that usually prison calls are recorded?
oh lmao Oliver was right about Alice being Son of Sam!
and ... there it is... holy shit...
S2 E6
you really start to feel for Poppy because Cinda is such a bitch.
Jan: "What? We never broke up." C: "Well, I guess I just assumed." Jan: "Why? Because I tried to kill you?"
... well...
Jan: "How many times are you gonna make me apologize for that? You're all I have, Charles. Are you really gonna leave me in here, all locked up, and not in a sexy way. I still love you. Is that crazy?"
Yes, Jan. That is crazy. But it's even more crazy that Charles stays... but also so understandable. He is scared too.
CINDA: "I need to poop!! Come in and say I have a call!"
Oh right, Joy!
Lmao Oliver and Mabel instantly knowing that there is some chemistry between Charles and Joy.
C: "Because she's not my type." Lucy: "What, emotionally stable?" O: "Age appropriate?" M: "Not incarcerated?"
The show is so good with red herrings. It's great.
The glitter bomb is such a good idea.
Was the whole episode of the Cinda podcast just two minuts?
Lmao Mable being just pissed at Charles for talking with Jan, because she is also protective towards Charles.
Also she is right, Jan killed Mable's friend.
LOL how they miss the bomb. It's a dramatic scene and the background is so silly...
Lmao letting Sazz do the breaking up is so crazy and also so genius. But also Uh Oh!
Incredible...
Uh oh... there is the bad thing Alice did...
I actually thought that it happened in Mable's apartment. But it's the studio.
Charles and Oliver are besties.
Poppy is so clever...
But also the glitter bomb worked.
Oh fuck! right... Mabel stabbed someone...
Poor girl...
And that was the most awkward hug in history.

Moon bathing
Moon baths are an ancient practice that involves enriching the body and mind with the energy of the Moon. This practice is associated with the cooling and calming influence of the Moon.
Moonbathing offers a range of health benefits, and it is particularly advantageous for women’s hormonal health. In medical astrology, the Moon is associated with the pituitary gland, which plays a crucial role in regulating hormones such as follicle-stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone. This connection suggests that spending time in the moonlight can have a positive influence on hormonal balance and overall well-being for women.
In Ayurveda, the Moon is associated with the energy of the Vata and Pitta doshas, which tend to become overly active or imbalanced. The cooling effect of moon bathing is particularly recommended for balancing the fiery Pitta dosha, helping to create harmony in the body, especially during periods of stress or excessive heat.
Moon bathing offers solitary time in nature to meditate and fully embrace the present moment. It is typically practiced in one of three ways: spending time outdoors under the moonlight, letting moonlight stream indoors by opening the blinds, or taking an actual bath while basking in the Moon's glow. Allowing your body and mind to unwind fully ensures you absorb all the healing and restorative effects, leaving you feeling refreshed and balanced.
There's no set duration for how long you should moon bathe – the experience is entirely personal and can be tailored to your preferences.
After your moon bath, it’s crucial to continue nurturing yourself to amplify the practice’s benefits. Start by drinking plenty of water to rehydrate and restore your body’s natural balance.
Take some time to reflect on your experience—whether through journaling or meditation. This reflection helps you to capture and process the emotions and insights you gained, offering deeper clarity and understanding.
Benefits of Moon Bathing
🌙 Calming and Soothing Effects - It’s an ideal way to unwind after a long day, allowing your mind and body to relax deeply.
🌟 Balancing Energy - By spending time in the moonlight, you can harmonize your internal energies, creating a state of equilibrium within your body and mind.
💧 Supporting Emotional Release - The gentle, reflective nature of moonlight helps create a safe space for processing and releasing these emotions, leading to a lighter, more balanced state of being.
💤 Improving Sleep - Engaging in this practice can help regulate your circadian rhythms, making it easier to fall asleep and stay asleep.
Moon Phases & Moon Bathing
The Waning Moon, which follows the Full Moon, is associated with the energy of release and letting go, making it an ideal time for Moon Bathing focused on cleansing and renewal.
Conversely, the Waxing Moon, which comes after the New Moon, is linked with growth and expansion, making this phase more suited for those looking to cultivate new intentions or embrace a learning mindset.
To make the most of these practices, the lunar calendar serves as a valuable tool, helping you track the Moon’s phases and their corresponding energies.
Enhancing Your Moon Bath
While enjoying your moon bath, you can also take the opportunity to charge some lunar water. Simply place a bowl of water where it can soak up the moonlight, either beside your bath or outside under the open sky. As the water absorbs the moon's energy, it becomes "lunar water," believed to carry the Moon's calming and healing properties. You can later use this charged water in rituals, or even to enhance future baths, adding an extra layer of lunar magic to your self-care routine.
By aligning with the Moon’s phases and embracing its gentle energy, you can cultivate a deeper sense of peace, balance, and inner clarity.

Veera's Hair Haven - The Doshas
Hi everyone!
This week, I am grateful to be able to teach you about the hair Doshas! Keep in mind this might be long but packed with useful information!
The Ayurveda, or the Indian health and wellness system believes in the existence of Doshas, which are used to define your hair "type."
Generally they are divided into three Doshas, the first being Vata, the next being Pitta, and finally, Kapha.
Vatta:
Vata-dominant hair often struggles with dryness, frizz, and breakage. It can feel thin and lackluster, and the scalp tends to be sensitive. Gentle care is essential for this hair type.
To nourish and protect your Vata hair, focus on deep hydration and gentle treatments. Regular oiling with coconut or sesame oil can work wonders. Don't forget to pamper your scalp with gentle massages. Avoid harsh chemicals and excessive heat styling to prevent further damage.
For an extra boost, try natural hair masks. Honey and yogurt offer intense hydration, while henna can add strength and shine.
Pitta:
Pitta hair is often characterized by its fine texture and natural shine. However, it can be prone to premature graying, thinning, and oiliness. The scalp tends to be sensitive, reacting easily to harsh products. To maintain its health, balance is key.
Gentle care and cooling treatments are essential for Pitta hair. Look for products with soothing ingredients like aloe vera to calm the scalp.
Kappha:
Kapha hair is often characterized by its thickness and natural body. However, it can also be prone to oiliness, flatness, and dandruff. The scalp tends to be balanced but can become oily over time.
To maintain the health and bounce of Kapha hair, focus on balancing oil production and adding volume. Regular cleansing and lightweight products are essential.
Thats it for this week!

———————
I sat up feeling the cold emptiness at the side of me. My eyes squinted as they skimmed over the dark room. The cold caused the familiar chill to travel up my bare arms.
My fingers wrapped around the edge of the duvet, comforting, whispering to me, asking for me to lie back down and go to sleep.
My shoulders slumped in a fatigued sigh. My eye lids growing heavier and heavier by the minute. My head occasionally trying to roll and nod forward.
The room was warm like a well needed blanket. The desire to sleep teetering on the edge of my slowly slipping conscience.
I could feel my fingers began to slip, only now resting on the soft material. I contemplated laying back down allowing for the endearing of sleep to swallow me whole. As I began to be pulled down by the hugging arms of drowsiness I could feel the relaxation of it all intoxicate me.
Suddenly I shot back up. The clattering in the kitchen startling me. I was wide awake now. Eyes fully open. My fingers wrapped back around the edge of the duvet.
Drowsiness released its dangerous hug. I shuddered as the freezing travelled through out my blood stream. The floor boards creaked under my feet as I carefully crept forward.
The whole house was dark. The ominous black beckoning me forward ready to eat me whole. I pressed my hand against the door frame giving myself some more time to wake up.
Venturing further my heart pitta-pattered pitta-pattered to the beat of my padding feet across the floor. I dodged the furniture that mapped out the living room. Ringing my hands as I grew closer.
The gnashing teeth of anxiety gnawing on the back of my mind. The impending pulse of an already forming headache spread across my skull. I felt the shift of atmosphere as I pushed open the slightly ajar door.
I swallowed down the fear as I felt my breath leave me and my quickening pulse to fend for ourselves with the horrifically twisting shadows. I reached my hand back. Feeling my breath return as I felt the plastic under my finger print.
I flipped the switch. The old lights flickering on. “Bucky?” I whispered into the yellow covered room. My gaze flicked over each surface and crevice.
The tainted glint of shining silver caught my eye. I walked forward. One foot in front of the other. I watched as red spots began to lead my way.
I could feel the acidic bile creep higher and higher, my breath growing ragged. I stopped just before the black handle. A bloody kitchen knife lied before me. Removed from its wooden blocked home where it belonged.
I crouched down picking it up. Breathing deeply through my nose, allowing the breath to get uncomfortably lodged in my throat. I opened my mouth, but shut it. My breathing replaced with another’s.
My grip on the knife’s handle tightened. Turing around the curved corner of the island. Instead of a knife at my feet there was now a slouched man sat in front of me. Leaning against one of the walls of the island.
The top hung over him, casting a dreary shadow. Crouching down once again -to be at his height-. Putting a hand on his shoulder, “Buck?”
Placing the knife down gently at my side. I leant forward; trying to meet his eyes. Yet he just stared past me into a nothingness. His mouth was agape slightly, eyes dim, but the steady rise and fall of his chest gave him away.
“James?” I moved to crouch in front of him. My hand flew over my mouth. My feet rapidly moved me, shuffling me away. The bottom of my back colliding with the counter top.
I fell to the ground pain flourishing through me. My hand still pressed tightly to my mouth as a sob broke free, tears falling like a melancholy waterfall.
My eyes were fixed onto the metal arm, unable to look away. The blood the dribbled and dripped, staining the floor beginning to crust into ruby red jewels. The skin around where his arm is was red and swollen.
He tried to tear his arm off? How did I not hear him? How did he not cry?
A sickening mess. My stomach twisted and plummeted. I looked up my eye lids flickering as the image permeated itself, engraving itself into my soul . The skin was teared into. A steady stream of crimson still flowed from the deeper cuts.
Claw marks and knife gashes littered the skin. “Oh...my love,” I muttered. Crawling forward to sit back in front of him. I placed my hands on either said of of his face. Pulling his head forward softly,
I closed the gap kissing his forehead gingerly with trembling lips. Pressing our foreheads together as I continued to cry. Turning my head planting repeated kisses on his cheek, my right hand tucking the hair that ghosted over his face behind his ear. Once then twice, repeating the action while I proceeded to look into his desolate.
I stood up, rushing to draw a bath. The dingy damp little room was lit by the water damaged light. I worked quickly. Putting the plug in, drawing the bath, skimming my hand through the water making sure it was just right.
I rushed to the cleaning cupboard under the sink pushing everything out of the way finally finding the med kit. I threw it next to the bathtub. Jogging into the kitchen.
Come on, I heaved slinging his good arm over my shoulder. Dragging him into the bathroom , grunting. Once we were back into the tiny space I sighed in some relief. He stood still unmoving. I moved past him turning off the tap before helping him undress. I held onto his arm as he stepped into the beige tub.
I sat by his side, the separation weighed on my shoulders even if it was just a chunk of plastic. I unzipped the med kit taking out: the disinfectant, bandages, the needle and thread. I gulped as I sanitised the needle. Shaky hands trying one, two, three, four times before finally threading the needle.
I tied it off, reaching a blood stained hand up. I gently pinched the skin together, feeling his shoulder jerk slightly. I breathed bracing myself as the bile crept back up as the metallic small burned my nose.
I stitched the deep cuts together. Fighting off the constant need to gag as the squelch of flesh echoed in my ear drums. Finally sewing shut the last one of the three, biting the thread to separate it.
I dropped the bloodied needle into the lid of the med kit, reaching over the ledge of the tub. Grabbing the floating wash cloth. Ringing it out. I ran it lightly over the skin of his back, ridding him of the blood, sweat and grime that riddled his body.
Dipping it back into the ever growing reddish-brown water. Ringing it out once again. Soothingly wiping the wash cloth over his stomach, dragging it cautiously over the flesh arm then his chest.
Dipping and ringing it one last time. I grabbed the bottle of disinfectant soaking the cloth in it. I braced one hand on his other shoulder. He flinched as I pressed it to the angry searing skin finally waking up from his nightmarish state.
I ran it over the skin, cleaning his wounds. I heard him breathe in a sharp breath through his teeth. The sound of wincing was soon overcome. Soft whimpers and cries scurried out from his mouth.
I dropped the wash cloth into the tub. His head turned as he now faced me. His eyes looking into mine. More tears burning at the back of my eyes.
Tears trickling down his cheeks. “I’m sorry,” he whispered ashamed. “I’m sorry!” His shoulders shook as he sobbed, leaning forward. I leant to meet him half way.
He rested his head on my shoulder sniffling and crying. Continuously whispering sorrowful woes in my ear. My heart broke even more. A little bit of us both broke for each other today.
“It’s okay, Its okay.” I whispered back. My fingers running through his hair. “Its okay.” He sobbed impossibly harder. His hands wrapping around my wrists, his thumbs drifting across my skin.
“I love you,” he spoke into the my hair. The light flickering above us, ready to give up. I felt him tuck his head further into the crook of my neck. Feeling the way his chest shuddered to the stutter and squeeze of my heart.
I chewed on my bottom lip as we continued to cry holding each other like a grieving family to the memory of a loved one...
This is something I will never forget. Forever in the forefront of my mine. Carved out in my mind mirroring the way it was carved into his skin something to haunt me for the rest of my life with jagged white lines.
But I’m happy. It’s sick and sadistic, but I’m happy that he is still here with me. I’m relieved. Scars or not he is still as beautiful as the day I met him.
And so with a tearful sigh I said “I love you too.”

Are you a starter or desert type of person?
You mean if I prefer starters to deserts? For me, the thing about eating deserts right after the main course is that... since my stomach is full and my palate full of salty tastes, most of the time deserts don't hit as right. I prefer to have a bit more space to eat, and be able to enjoy the desert as it is. That is, if I'm served something I like, I will eat it, but with not as much excitement as if I ate it an hour or so afterwards.
Now, when it comes to starters... the thing is that Greek starters are good. The first thing that comes to mind, probably the most common starter dish in mainland Greece: French fries with tzatziki (yogurt - plain yogurt, not yogurt "sauce" - with garlic and trimmed cucumber) which is just... *chef's kiss*. Whoever thought first of that combination is a genius.
You can dip a lot of stuff in tzatziki - as you see in the pic, someone has dipped a piece of pitta bread, which is the second most common thing to dip in it, but french fries are inarguably the best choice.
Then there's stuff like zucchini "balls". Like meatballs, but made of zucchini instead of meat.
They can also be made of tomato,
mushed chickpeas (like falafel, I guess)
and then we can get a bunch of vegetables and salads in general. Aubergines, peppers (the long ones, we call them Florinis here), fried tomatoes, pretty much anything goes.
... Maybe my view of "starter" meals is very different due to our cuisine. When you go to a Greek traditional restaurant/taverna, you don't get a starter meal per person eating. You get a bunch of them, and we put them in the middle of the table and share, and it's only the main course that's separate for each. Probably the once and only time I've had an actual "starter" was when I went to a non-traditional restaurant in Istanbul and had tomato soup for starter. That one was great, lol.
So yeah, even though I love desserts, when in such a setting I prefer the starters. They're easier to digest before the main course, they come in a bigger variation (compared to what dessert options most Greek restaurants offer), and it's fun to be sharing them with the people around the table.

Join us as we unravel the compelling synergy between ancient traditions and modern diabetes management, offering a roadmap for self-healing from within.
Understanding Diabetes and its Management
Diabetes is a chronic condition characterized by high levels of glucose in the blood. It can result from inadequate insulin production, ineffective use of insulin, or both. The management of diabetes involves controlling blood sugar levels to prevent complications. Conventional treatments often include medication, insulin injections, and dietary modifications. However, the holistic approach of yoga and Ayurveda offers complementary avenues for managing diabetes. By understanding the underlying causes and impacts of diabetes, individuals can make informed choices about incorporating these ancient practices into their lifestyle.
Yoga and Ayurveda offer a holistic perspective on diabetes, considering the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit. Rather than simply treating the symptoms, they address the root causes of imbalance, aiming to restore harmony and well-being. As we delve deeper into the specific practices and principles of yoga and Ayurveda, we will uncover their profound potential in transforming the lives of those grappling with diabetes.
Yoga Practices for Diabetes Management
Yoga, an ancient practice originating in India, encompasses a diverse range of techniques designed to promote physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. When tailored for diabetes management, yoga practices can play a crucial role in regulating blood sugar levels and enhancing overall health. Asanas, or yoga postures, are a fundamental aspect of yoga practice. Specific asanas, such as the Sun Salutation (Surya Namaskar), the Shoulder Stand (Sarvangasana), and the Seated Forward Bend (Paschimottanasana), have been found to be particularly beneficial for individuals with diabetes.
In addition to asanas, pranayama, or breath control techniques, are integral to yoga practice. Deep breathing exercises, such as Anulom Vilom (alternate nostril breathing) and Kapalbhati (skull shining breath), can help improve insulin sensitivity and reduce stress levels, both of which are essential for managing diabetes. Furthermore, meditation and relaxation techniques in yoga can alleviate the psychological and emotional stress associated with diabetes, promoting a sense of calm and balance.
Ayurvedic Approach to Diabetes
Ayurveda, often referred to as the "science of life," is an ancient system of medicine that originated in India over 5,000 years ago. Central to Ayurveda is the concept of individual constitution, or dosha, which influences one's physical, mental, and emotional characteristics. In the context of diabetes, Ayurveda emphasizes the balance of the three doshas – Vata, Pitta, and Kapha – to manage the condition effectively. Ayurvedic treatments for diabetes typically involve a combination of herbal remedies, dietary modifications, and lifestyle recommendations tailored to an individual's doshic constitution.
Herbs such as bitter melon (Momordica charantia), fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum), and turmeric (Curcuma longa) are commonly used in Ayurveda to regulate blood sugar levels and improve insulin sensitivity. Additionally, dietary guidelines in Ayurveda emphasize the consumption of whole foods, such as whole grains, legumes, and fresh vegetables, while minimizing the intake of processed and sugary foods. Lifestyle modifications, including stress-reducing practices, regular exercise, and adequate sleep, are also integral to the Ayurvedic approach to managing diabetes.
Benefits of Yoga and Ayurveda for Diabetes
The integration of yoga and Ayurveda into diabetes management offers a myriad of benefits beyond the regulation of blood sugar levels. These ancient practices promote overall well-being by addressing the physical, mental, and emotional aspects of health. Yoga and Ayurveda can enhance insulin sensitivity, promote weight management, reduce inflammation, and improve cardiovascular health – all of which are crucial considerations for individuals with diabetes.
Moreover, the holistic nature of yoga and Ayurveda fosters a sense of empowerment and self-awareness, allowing individuals to develop a deeper understanding of their bodies and the factors influencing their health. By incorporating these practices into their daily routine, individuals can cultivate resilience, balance, and vitality, ultimately enhancing their ability to manage diabetes effectively and lead a fulfilling life.
Incorporating Yoga and Ayurveda into Daily Routine
The integration of yoga and Ayurveda into daily routines can be a transformative endeavor for individuals seeking to manage diabetes holistically. Establishing a regular yoga practice, even if it involves just a few minutes of gentle stretching and breathing exercises each day, can yield significant benefits. Similarly, incorporating Ayurvedic dietary principles, such as mindful eating, balanced meals, and the inclusion of diabetes-friendly herbs and spices, can contribute to better blood sugar control and overall health.
Furthermore, the incorporation of mindfulness and stress-reducing techniques, such as meditation and relaxation exercises, can help individuals develop resilience in the face of the challenges posed by diabetes. By making these practices a part of their daily routine, individuals can experience a profound shift in their well-being, fostering a sense of empowerment and self-healing from within.
Dietary Recommendations in Ayurveda for Diabetes
Diet plays a pivotal role in the management of diabetes, and Ayurveda offers valuable insights into dietary recommendations tailored to individual constitutions. The emphasis on whole, unprocessed foods, as well as the inclusion of specific herbs and spices, can contribute to better blood sugar control and overall health. In Ayurveda, dietary guidelines for diabetes revolve around balancing the doshas, promoting digestion, and managing excess sugar in the body.
For individuals with diabetes, incorporating foods that are naturally low in glycemic index, such as leafy greens, bitter gourds, and whole grains, can help regulate blood sugar levels. Additionally, Ayurvedic principles advocate mindful eating, emphasizing the importance of savoring each meal, chewing food thoroughly, and being attuned to one's body's hunger and satiety cues. By aligning dietary choices with the principles of Ayurveda, individuals with diabetes can optimize their nutritional intake and support their overall well-being.
Case Studies and Success Stories
The profound impact of yoga and Ayurveda on diabetes management is exemplified by numerous case studies and success stories. Individuals who have integrated these ancient practices into their daily lives have reported improvements in blood sugar control, reduced dependence on medications, and an enhanced sense of well-being. From gentle yoga postures to personalized Ayurvedic regimens, these individuals have experienced a transformative shift in their relationship with diabetes, empowering them to take charge of their health and lead fulfilling lives.
These success stories serve as a testament to the potential of yoga and Ayurveda in diabetes management, inspiring others to explore these holistic avenues for well-being. By sharing these experiences, we can illuminate the path for individuals seeking alternative approaches to managing diabetes, offering them hope and guidance in their journey towards self-healing.
The Science Behind Yoga and Ayurveda for Diabetes
While the therapeutic benefits of yoga and Ayurveda for diabetes have been widely acknowledged, the scientific understanding of their mechanisms continues to evolve. Research studies have demonstrated the positive impact of yoga on insulin sensitivity, glucose metabolism, and stress reduction in individuals with diabetes. Similarly, clinical trials investigating the efficacy of Ayurvedic herbal formulations and dietary interventions have shown promising results in managing blood sugar levels and mitigating the complications associated with diabetes.
The convergence of modern scientific research and ancient wisdom provides a compelling foundation for the integration of yoga and Ayurveda into diabetes management. By bridging the gap between traditional practices and contemporary evidence, individuals and healthcare professionals can gain a deeper understanding of the multifaceted benefits of these holistic approaches, paving the way for their wider adoption in the management of diabetes.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the integration of yoga and Ayurveda offers a holistic and empowering approach to diabetes management. By incorporating targeted yoga practices, breathwork, meditation, herbal remedies, dietary modifications, and lifestyle recommendations, individuals with diabetes can embark on a transformative journey towards holistic well-being. The profound synergy between ancient traditions and modern diabetes management illuminates a path for self-healing from within, empowering individuals to cultivate resilience, balance, and vitality. The Best Shirodhara Treatment: A Comprehensive Guide to This Ancient Ayurvedic Practice
Shirodhara is a revered Ayurvedic therapy that involves pouring a steady stream of warm herbal oil or other therapeutic liquids over the forehead, particularly on the "third eye" area.
This ancient practice, rooted in Indian holistic healing traditions, aims to promote mental clarity, alleviate stress, and balance the doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Shirodhara is not merely a relaxation technique; it is a profound treatment that offers a multitude of physical and psychological benefits.
To truly appreciate and select the Best Shirodhara treatment in Ahmedabad, one must understand its history, benefits, and the specifics of the treatment process.
The Origins and Philosophy of Shirodhara
Shirodhara, derived from the Sanskrit words "Shiro" (head) and "Dhara" (flow), is a part of Panchakarma, the five-fold Ayurvedic detoxification programme.
This therapy has been practised for thousands of years, with its origins tracing back to ancient Ayurvedic texts. The primary philosophy behind Shirodhara is the principle of balance.
Ayurveda posits that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between the mind, body, and spirit. Shirodhara is designed to calm the mind and enhance the function of the central nervous system, leading to overall equilibrium.
Historically, Shirodhara was used to treat conditions related to the head, including migraines, insomnia, and anxiety.
The continuous flow of warm oil is believed to have a deeply meditative effect, helping to release pent-up stress and tension while nourishing the scalp and hair. This holistic approach makes Shirodhara a unique and invaluable treatment in the modern wellness landscape.
The Process and Experience of Shirodhara
A typical Shirodhara session begins with a brief consultation with an Ayurvedic practitioner to determine the individual's dosha type and any specific health concerns.
The choice of oil or liquid used in Shirodhara depends on this assessment. Commonly used oils include sesame oil, coconut oil, and specially prepared herbal oils, each chosen for their unique therapeutic properties.
The treatment itself involves the patient lying on a comfortable treatment table with their eyes covered.
A specially designed vessel, called a dhara pot, is positioned above the forehead.
Warm oil is then poured in a thin, steady stream onto the forehead, oscillating rhythmically across the forehead to ensure an even distribution. The sensation is often described as deeply soothing and hypnotic, inducing a state of relaxation akin to meditation.
The duration of the oil flow typically ranges from 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the individual's needs.
After the treatment, it is customary to rest quietly to allow the benefits to fully integrate. Many recipients report immediate feelings of tranquillity and heightened mental clarity following the session.
The Benefits of Shirodhara
Shirodhara offers a plethora of benefits that extend beyond mere relaxation. The therapy is known to significantly reduce stress and anxiety levels, making it an excellent treatment for those suffering from chronic stress or burnout.
The gentle, consistent flow of oil stimulates the hypothalamus, which helps regulate hormones and can lead to improved sleep patterns and mood stabilisation.
Additionally, Shirodhara can improve cognitive functions such as memory and concentration by calming the mind and reducing mental fatigue.
The therapy is also beneficial for various skin and scalp conditions; the herbal oils nourish the scalp, promoting healthy hair growth and alleviating conditions such as dandruff.
For those with neurological disorders, Shirodhara has shown promise in alleviating symptoms associated with conditions like hypertension, migraines, and vertigo. The therapy’s ability to calm the nervous system and enhance blood circulation contributes to these therapeutic effects.
Choosing the Best Shirodhara Treatment
To ensure the best Shirodhara experience, it is essential to select a reputable Ayurvedic clinic with certified practitioners.
The quality of the oils and the expertise of the practitioner play crucial roles in the effectiveness of the treatment. Look for clinics that offer personalised treatments tailored to individual dosha types and specific health concerns.
Reading reviews and testimonials from previous clients can provide insights into the clinic’s reputation and the experiences of others.
Additionally, some modern wellness centres offer Shirodhara as part of a comprehensive Ayurvedic treatment package, which may include dietary recommendations, yoga, and other therapies to enhance overall well-being.
Conclusion
Shirodhara is more than just an Ayurvedic therapy; it is a holistic experience that rejuvenates the mind, body, and spirit.
Whether you seek relief from stress, improved mental clarity, or holistic healing, the best Shirodhara treatment in Ahmedabad can offer profound benefits.
By understanding the origins, process, and benefits of Shirodhara, and by choosing a reputable clinic, you can fully immerse yourself in this ancient practice and enjoy its transformative effects.
