I'm supposed to be doing a training thing via zoom call and my boss is late. So y'all are gonna get this thing that's been in my brain for a while.

Pirate!Eddie who needs a medic for his crew except the best medic that he can find is Steve who comes with four kids who he adopted after each one attempted something on his person. (Max tried to stab him and Dustin tried to pick pocket. Erica succeeded on the pickpocket and Lucas was just the distraction.) Plus his twin sister Robin (who his not his actual sister but anyone who says that will get a feral medic).

Medic!Steve is a package deal and Eddie eventually accepts his terms.

Except they get hunted down by Nancy Wheeler's crew where the 3 children there are upset because Steve didn't take them too while Nancy and Jonathan would have just appreciated a heads up so that their siblings don't wreak havoc in port again.

At some point, they come to some sort of alliance and a shovel talk gets squeezed in somewhere when one of them realizes he has less than platonic feelings for Steve. Barb, Robin, Steve, and Argyle meanwhile are chilling on the deck and being bitchy about the latest attempts from the Navy to find their crews.

Only for Steve to drop a figurative bomb a la "You'd think my father would have realized I do not want to come home when he hasn't been able to find me in the last 3 years."

And that's how Eddie and the Hellfire crew find out that their slightly bitchy medic is in fact the missing Prince.

Little story points behind the image lol (some this is dark ig so read with caution ig (I don’t go into any details)) (if you want to make a fan fic based on this you have full permission to use anything :) ) (also I haven’t read any pirate au fanfics so sorry if I stole ideas without knowing)

- William was kidnapped (sold by Lonnie 😭😭😭 idk) by/to Henry at the age of 12 and 7 years later (so he’s 19 now) he was finally able to escape

- He found a ship to get on to and was in the middle of cutting his hair when Michael found him

- Michael Wheeler or Michael the Disheartened (I just wanted to use the word heart somehow in his name lol) is the Pirate Captain of this ship with a crew of 5 (Lucas, Jane, Erica, Max and Dustin)

- Michael’s eye was taken away from him as punishment for his ✨homosexual thoughts✨ or his “wandering eye” if you will :/ and therefore banished from his home at the age of 16 (he still keeps in contact with Nancy and Holly in secret)

- William’s hand was also a punishment/warning for him. Henry thought he was painting too much and not studying enough (idkkkkk)

- Brenner and Henry are bitter rivals (both kidnapping kids for experiments ig)

- Jane has magic :) and so does Henry :/ (maybe will does too idk)

- Jane was kidnapped as a baby (by Brenner) because she showed signs of having magic

- William wants to find his family while Michael wants to take down the evil government (the some government that took his eye ig)

-Henry’s Curse (basically birthday gate), nobody can remember William from before the day that he got kidnapped and William’s memory is a bit foggy too but remembers his mother, his brother and maybe there was a boy… his best friend?

- Michael swears their was a boy he was friends with when he was younger, he thinks they meet at a swing that hung on a tree… he just can’t remember his name.

- So the image above is their second first meeting lol

- Michael warms up to this stranger, strangely fast for some reason, it usually takes him months or years to start trusting someone 🤔🤔🤔

-William becomes a part of his crew obviously

Anyway those were just a few ideas that I was thinking about, I have some ideas for the origins for the other characters (mainly the crew (the party))

Mike Wheeler's Guide to the Undead- LITTLE BABY MIWI, Will died in the upside down and comes back as a zombie, cute cute cute, the little baby party, Nancy Wheeler, Miwi again, heart-to-heart on top of a crypt, we get REVENGE on Troy Walsh, it's younger Mike so he's sweet (31k words)

It Wasn't A Bad Thing (REWRITTEN)- Mike's a florist, Will own's a tattoo parlor, El and Mike and Will all have POVs as they try to figure themselves out, my aro/ace Eleven agenda is showing, Mike and Nancy, Will and El!, Mike's an absolute disaster, the zoo, Robin and Will friendship, Mike and Will get matching tattoos, the angst very much agnsts (52k words)

I just started reading this pirate AU by @rainypebble07 and I can tell I'm going to love it! Summary:

One unsuspecting night, the children of the duke, Mike Wheeler and his sister Nancy are swept away by a group of pirates aboard a ship called The Cleric. They soon learn that the pirates plan to trade them to an evil captain named Vecna as repayment for a debt. Mike convinces a crewmember named Will Byers that he can help the crew to solve this problem in a way that doesn't involve Mike as leverage and he sets off with The Cleric on an adventure to defeat the villainous Venca. Along the way, Will and the rest of the crew teach him that maybe not all pirates are as heartless as Mike thought. Little does everyone suspect, Will knows exactly how this adventure will end, and it isn't good.

pirate captain steve au

steve runs away from home at 17. he comes from a wealthy family where he was constantly ridiculed and verbally abused by his father while his mother never even acknowledged him. eventually he decided ‘fuck it’ and got on the first ship leaving

after a few months of pointless wandering, he is found by hopper, a renowned pirate captain, who takes him in and offers him a place on his crew. steve agrees and steadily works his way up the ranks until he’s the first mate at age 20. a few years later hop retires and passes the title of captain onto steve (age 23)

when steve becomes captain, the Party, erica, robin, nancy, jonathan and argyle are the crew

steve is the best with a sword, nancy is the best with a gun, robin excels with explosives, el is a nereid (sea nymph) and max is the best with knives (though lucas has the best aim with throwing knives). robin is the quartermaster, erica is the navigator, nancy is the bosun, argyle is the cook, jonathan is the carpenter, will is the sailmaker, lucas is the medic, max is the gunner, dustin is the chief engineer and mike is the helmsman

steve is known as ‘the dread captain king steve’ (which is actually just an inside joke among the crew that was overheard by pillaged naval officers, who started calling him that and the name stuck. steve hates it)

steve and the crew are more of a robin hood type situation, all steal from the rich and give to the poor but they keep some for themselves as well. they also go after guards (and other people in similar positions) who are abusing their power to harass/steal from/attack civilians. pretty much whenever they find trouble they help out, and people sometimes go to them to ask for their assistance (they’re often paid in food or supplies rather than money but they don’t mind)

eddie is a thief who escapes from royal guards and stows away on the first ship he sees, which happens to be the S.S. Hawkins, aka steve’s ship. the crew finds eddie and shenanigans ensue

here's my take on merman eddie and pirate captain steve

"push!" steve instructs and his men follows. they push the levers in order for the net they spread on the sea to come up. the storm a week ago took a toll on their supplies that could have lasted until they make port on the next town.

"two more turns, lads!" the captain instructs once again and the men follows. their captain have never failed them and if steve says two more turns, they for sure would believe that after two more turns, there'll be plenty of fish on their net to eat for dinner.

the men hear the splash of water and their mouths starts to water. they can already imagine the number of dishes their cook can do to those fishes.

then their captain shouts, "off the capstan!" and the men pulled away. loud splash of water can be heard and it's somehow different. it's like one big thing fell into the water instead of several fishes.

"captain, what happened?" nancy, the firstmate asks. their captain's brows are furrowed, scowling.

before steve could reply, the answer came from the waters. "steve, why!"

ah, the crew understood why their captain made them let go of the net.

"we need fish on out nets, eddie!" steve shouts to the creature below.

at first, it was genuinely amazing seeing a merman in their ships deck. but their firstmate's lover, robin, firmly believes in the power of supernatural beings and insisted for them to free the merman. nancy is smitten for robin and their captain values the word and advice of his firstmate and crew, so he instructed the crew to put the merman back into the sea.

somehow after that the merman they came to know as eddie have been frequenting their nets in the afternoon, just when they're fishing of their dinner.

"i am a fish!" eddie shouts back.

"we can't eat you eddie! robin doesn't want to!"

the crew can't believe what they are hearing really. they have seen the most bloody fight and deadliest storms in their lives but never did they think they'll be seeing their captain arguing with a merman.

"that's why i brought foods! see! these are clams and crabs!"

true to what eddie said, he has several clams and crabs on his arms, still on the net that fall through.

steve looks at nancy then his crew. "what do you lot think?"

the men looks at each other, then "we can accept the clams and crabs for dinner, captain."

then nancy said, "we'll take those clams and crabs. let eddie stay here while we try to get fishes without him on our nets."

"understood," steve said to his men and to eddie he said, "hold tight, eddie! we'll pull the nets up, okay?"

"anything for you, my captain!" was eddie's resounding reply that was mixed with other sounds that the crew thinks only merpeople can do.

Here's the summary for you:

One unsuspecting night, the children of the duke, Mike Wheeler and his sister Nancy are swept away by a group of pirates aboard a ship called The Cleric. They soon learn that the pirates plan to trade them to an evil captain named Vecna as repayment for a debt. Mike convinces a crewmember named Will Byers that he can help the crew to solve this problem in a way that doesn't involve Mike as leverage and he sets off with The Cleric on an adventure to defeat the villainous Venca. Along the way, Will and the rest of the crew teach him that maybe not all pirates are as heartless as Mike thought.

Little does everyone suspect, Will knows exactly how this adventure will end, and it isn't good.

Pretty much, it's pirate byler! It's got lots of fun stuff and slow burn and a little angst and Nancy and Mike interactions and everything and I just think it's a really fun AU, so I hope you enjoy it.

Pirates of the Caribbean Steddie + Ronance AU

So. I'm aware of the pirate Steddie AU, but what about a Pirates of the Caribbean AU?

Eddie as Captain Eddie Munson who lost his beloved ship, Hellfire, when he refused to carry "human cargo". He needs to repay his debt to Davy Jones, but newsflash - Eddie is actually a good guy and doesn't do shit to collect the souls he owes. He just collects misfits into his crew and tries to prepare for the moment he ends up in Davy Jones's locker. His crew has a lot of kids that lost their parents to the British navy - Dustin lost his dad and he joined the pirate crew to provide for his mom, Erica and Lucas were freed from a slave ship, El was being transported as a part of a circus/freak show...all that and more.

Nancy Wheeler is the daughter of the local British official, Mr. Wheeler. She would prefer to study and travel the world, but her only value lies in being married to a suitable person to expand the connections for her family. Nancy plays her role well and often talks to her assigned match, Steve Harrington, a son of a local wealthy merchant family. She and Steve are childhood friends and actually dated for a while, but it didn't work out, they function better as friends and they know it. They are both resigned to eventually being married, Steve finally having his family off his back and Nancy regaining some freedom in marriage with Steve because she knows he'll allow her to pursue her dreams, as much as possible.

The shitshow starts when Mr. Wheeler reconsiders the marriage and actually agrees to wed Nancy to a young officer from the navy, Jason Carver. Carver is traditionalist, considers Nancy more of a trophy wife and if Nancy thought that lifetime being married to her childhood friend and pretending to be in love would be dishonest, this is way way WAY worse. She and Steve try to plot, they try to figure something out, but Nancy's father forbids them to see each other as it would be improper.

As luck would have it, the pirate ship Hellfire targets their port next. It is well known for its connections to the Royal navy. However, what the pirate Robin Buckley - joined Eddie's crew at fifteen when her parents found her in bed with her music teacher (would be bad as it is, but the teacher was a woman, gasp!) - goes to plunder the house of the wealthy merchants and finds a handsome young man there instead. He tosses all contents of his parents' safe at her, already packed, and informs her that this is all hers if they take him and his friend out of this hellhole. Before Robin can react, Steve climbs the window to Nancy's room, tells her they're joining/being captured by the pirate crew (Nancy just rolls her eyes and says "well, beats marrying Jason fucking Carver") and that's how they end up on Eddie's ship.

Eddie just stares at the two and very guilty-looking Robin. "So. Are you joining us or are we capturing you for ransom?"

Steve returns his gaze and doesn't flinch when Dustin ransacks his very hastily put together sack of clothes. "Whichever allows us to stay longer. Now, shouldn't you set sail? The navy usually reacts by daybreak."

The pirates aren't happy about the newest addition, thinking Steve and Nancy would be a burden, but they soon prove themselves. They disregard their fancy clothes and scrub floors, climb and fulfill their duties without a single complaint. Nancy soaks in all information about navigation and shares what she knows about weather patterns from her studies, back when she was too young to get married and was free to do what she wanted. Steve inspects the crew's weapons and identifies when they could crack, which ones should be better maintained. When they ask him how the hell would a rich boy know this, he just shrugs and says that since his parents were never home, he often stayed with the local blacksmith, Benny, and observed him working. He would have liked to become a smith himself, but of course his parents wouldn't stand for it.

Of course they fall in love. Of course Steve adores the dashing captain with his heart, soaks in adventures, freedom, the new friends, but mostly just Eddie, Eddie who is vilified but always does the right thing. And of course Robin and Nancy fall for each other, finding in each other what their families refused to allow.

And maybe Eddie gets saved by Steve from his fate, moving in front of him when Jason Carver wants to kill him. Maybe Steve has to serve for ten years on the Flying Dutchman, but he'll be fine, because Eddie wants to pay his dues and will serve those ten years with him, no matter what Steve says. And in ten years Steve and Eddie will be free, because if in ten years someone who loves Steve waits for him on the shore, then the curse will be broken, and Robin and Nancy will be there. They will live on the shore, watch the sea every day. And in ten years, there will be a free room in their house for their two friends who didn't age a day, and neither did their love.
