Down The Cobblestones Of Galeba Lane. Uncle Charles & Aunty Janet (The Countdown Couple) have settled in Galeba, Glendene. They invited Uncle to come visit, explore the nearby eateries and be given 2 artifacts from Angkor Wat as they are downsizing. He was over in a flash. The new abode is certainly cosy as Aunty Janet is a dab hand at cosiness while Uncle Charles nods his head, like one of the Buddha head he’s been pgiven. The gardens have fruit trees bearing mandarins, tangeloes, lemons and grapefruit. There’s a lot of fruit-sharing with Galeban neighbours. Up the Glendene shops, we find Thai, Indian, Pacific Islands, Japanese and a Roast eateries + bakery and cake shops. Our new residents have already tried Tuk Tuk Thai so we traipsed into to have lunch. We shared spicy chicken nibbles; Aunty had Drunken Noodles, Uncle Snr the Beef and Garlic on rice while Uncle Jnr had the Chicken Panang Curry. Mine hosts enjoyed the food and said they plan to make this their local (Thai). The new owners of Bakery Express arye Cambodian; their shop is brimming with all manner of cakes, pies, pastries and Kiwi classics. We took home a fruit flan, a pink lamington and apricot slice; all so delicious and fresh, with our lotus bud tea. So glad my Chin Lang have settled so well so quickly into their new home and adapted to new surroundings.
