The TA -- Joan(Jaune) Arc
Original Artwork Inspired Post.
(Artwork created/owned by @pilot-boi, No rights Claimed/Implied by the author of this story)
Joan(Jaune) was able to escort Ruby to the auditorium, without any issues. Seconds after arriving a rather impressively busted blond made a b-line to them. Joan(Jaune) figured it was "Boob-zilla", Ruby's sister, and no... she was not upset that ANOTHER blond won the genetic lottery with a good set of tits. No. Not jealous at all.
After introductions, and once again getting the "Isn't that a girl's name?" question, Joan(Jaune) bid Yang and Ruby a good night. Minutes later there was a commotion around the pair. Joan(Jaune) looked and sighed. It appeared that the "Meanie" had decided to make a follow-up... strafing run?
Joan(Jaune) was even less enthused about being here when she heard the "Meanie" speak...
"Yeah! And we can paint our nails and try out clothes and talk about cute boys like tall, blond and... scraggly over there!"
Yep. She should have gone to Argus. Rolling her eyes, she walked away. She had very much at this point decided that the world was filled with idiots, and morons. How could NO ONE see she was a girl? So what if she didn't have the sweater melons the rest of her family sported. She had the complete package of hips and ass to die for!
Joan(Jaune) stopped at the large bay windows of the expansive room, and considered her reflection. She twisted about, striking a couple poses, trying to find her best side, and then gave up. Who was she kidding. When it came to the classic Arc woman... she didn't measure up. Stuffing her hands into the pocket of her hoodie she scuffed her feet along the floor, as she made her way towards the stage.
Sitting down on the steps, she slouched and waited. Aunt Glynda had told her to wait near the staging of the auditorium, if she wasn't at the bullheads to pick her up. Knowing better than to not listen to Aunt Glynda, Joan(Jaune) followed the instructions to the letter. There was one thing Joan(Jaune), all her sisters and cousins knew. If Mom or Aunt Glynda said to do something. You did it... lest you face the "glare"
Joan(Jaune) sat with utter disinterest through the speech. She wasn't here to study, how to hit things. She was hear to be an intern and figure out what she wanted to do with her life. Though if she was to listen to her mom's plan... was to get knocked up and have babies. Only one problem with that easily followable plan. She needed to find someone who even had the remotest interest for getting into her panties. Which considering her current, and perpetual single status, didn't look possible.
Once everything was said and done, Aunt Glynda came to collect her. While the victims, as Joan(Jaune) preferred to think of them, all got ready for Beacon's day one sleep-over, she followed her Aunt to her new home away from home.
"The room to the left is yours." Aunt Glynda informed Joan(Jaune). "You affects have all arrived so while initiation is happening, you can unpack, and get better settled."
"So what am I supposed to do here?" Joan(Jaune) asked.
"What do you mean sweetie? You're here to assist me in my classes."
"You teach teenagers how to beat each other up, Auntie." Joan(Jaune) pointed out. "How am I supposed to assist you in that?"
"You will be assisting me with various administrative tasks, in regard to my classes, and my workload as Deputy Headmistress."
"So I'm going to be your secretary? or is the term receptionist?" Joan(Jaune) tilted her head, pursing her lips as if thinking deeply. "Executive Assistant?"
"Joan(Jaune) do be a brat." Glynda chuckled. "You're my assistant, end of discussion."
"But Brat is my specialty!" Joan(Jaune) fake pouted,
"I'm sure it is. Now I'm ordering take out from the cafeteria. Anything special you would like for your first night here?"
"Bacon Double Cheese Burger with fries and gravy?"
"You should eat better." Glynda admonished.
"Why?" Joan(Jaune) asked. "You think if I start eating salads I'll suddenly get a growth spurt and have some good sized boobs?"
"You still on that Joan(Jaune)?"
"Duh. You, mom, my sisters... all of you, have bazongas worthy of legend... and what do I have?" Joan(Jaune) grabbed the front of her shirt and squeezed her chest. "I'm the president of the itty-bitty-titty club!"
"Joan(Jaune) enough. Get dressed for the night. I'll place your order and then we can sit down and watch some movies."
"Grimm-oids and Grimm-oids 2 Aftershocks?"
"You and your taste in films." Glynda rolled her eyes, before shooting her niece a warm smile. "Of course."
"Yes!" Joan(Jaune) cheered, as she spun about and made her way to her new room. "Finally this place is looking up!"
"What would you like to drink Joan(Jaune)?"
"Cola!" came the reply. "Can I get a box of Pumpkin Pete's Marshmallow Crunch?"
"Why would you want that garbage?"
"I don't know? Let's see, I think it tastes good, especially dry, and oh yeah! Hot red-head on the box!" Joan(Jaune) replied, "Plus I need like fifteen more tops to get the pink version of my hoodie!"
"I'll ask. Anything else?"
"Nope."
Glynda shook her head, but was smiling and chuckling. She had missed spending time with Joan(Jaune) and her sisters. These last few years had been rough, and it was nice to have some family close by again. Opening the cafeteria after hours app, Glynda put in her order. Once it was confirmed, she went to her own room to get changed.
Thirty minutes later she and Joan(Jaune) were cuddled up on Glynda's couch. Watching a horrible, but entertaining creature-feature-comedy-horror movie. Food wrappers and beverage containers cluttered the coffee table. While in Joan(Jaune)'s lap was an open box of cereal which she was eating like popcorn.
(A/N - I think that's enough leeching off of @pilot-boi's artwork. This may get another post or two... If I can figure out what I was trying to do with it. Anyway hope you enjoyed. If you like the artwork, drop by the artist's Tumblr and give them a like. TTYL)

The TA -- Joan(Jaune) Arc
Joan(Jaune) stood in Beacon's courtyard, totally not overwhelmed by the number of students. Her mother had decided Joan(Jaune) needed to get some real world experiences so after discussing (threatening) her sister Glynda Goodwitch, Joan(Jaune) found herself assigned to work as a TA for her aunt and some of the other professors.
Joan(Jaune) was thinking it was a mistake, and she should sneak off and go hang with Saphron and Terra in Argus. Like seriously! Everyone! Literally everyone was walking around with weapons! There were swords, spears, knives, guns of every type, even a scythe! That's a farming tool! Next she'll see someone with a shovel or a rake!
"Of course I would." Joan(Jaune) deadpanned as two students just walked past her with those exact lawn and garden tools balanced on against their shoulders.
An explosion behind her caused Joan(Jaune) to shriek and jump backwards. Causing her to bounce off someone.
"Watch it dude!" came the gruff voice, as the young man just kept walking. Joan(Jaune) sighed. Looking around again for her Auntie, she noticed the girl with a red cap, still laying in a small crater. Seeing no one offering a hand, Joan(Jaune) did the right thing and walked over.
"Welcome to Beacon." the capped girl muttered.
"Need a hand?" Joan(Jaune) asked, while offering her hand to assist.
"Thanks?" the girl replied. Once she was once again vertical, she looked at Joan(Jaune) with her silver eyes. "I'm Ruby Rose."
"Joan(Jaune) Arc." and instantly she growled, as Ruby was giggling at her name. Joan(Jaune) knew exactly why, and was waiting for the question to be asked for the millionth time.
"Joan? Isn't that girl's name?"
"Yes, it is, and before you say anything else... I am a girl." Joan(Jaune) was annoyed, while all her sisters hit the jackpot with in the family gene pool, Joan(Jaune) seemed to have drawn the short straw. What truly baffled her was how NO ONE could tell she was a girl just from the sound of her voice!
"Really?" Ruby tilted her head and squinted, before nodding. "Yep, sorry about that. I see it now."
Joan(Jaune) just deadpanned. She should have gone to Argus. Terra could have gotten her an internship at the CCT.
"Do you want to see my baby?" Ruby beamed as she pulled some weird boxy contraption from under her cap.
"Is that a weapon of some kind?" Joan(Jaune) asked taking a step back.
"Yep!"
"Maybe later?"
"Aw. Phooey."
"Sorry, but I'll take a rain check." Joan(Jaune) offered, "It's just I need to find my Aunt. I'm working here with her for a term."
"Working? You mean you're not a huntsm... huntress-in-training?"
"No."
"Seriously?"
"Yes."
"Huh." Ruby started to fidget. "Um..."
"Yes?"
"Do you know where the auditorium is? I was supposed to head there until I ran into that meanie... which wouldn't have happened if my stupid boob-zilla sister hadn't run off!"
"Sure." Joan(Jaune) smiled warmly. Ruby seemed like a nice person, so why not give her a helping hand. It's not like she's some weapon obsessed gothic loli. Paused and gave Ruby a once over and then shrugged. "Already said I will, can't back out now."
"Did you say something?"
"Just talking to myself."
"Oh. Do you do that often?" Ruby froze, and started to stammer, "I'm sorry! I didn't mean it! I'm not judging< I swear!"
"Ruby... it's okay. It's okay."
"You not just saying that are you? I mean I would totally understand if you were, considering..."
"RUBY!" Joan(Jaune) shouted to get the red caped gothic loli to focus. "You didn't do anything to be so worked up about. Okay?"
"Okay, I..."
"No."
"No?"
"Do not say I guess." Joan(Jaune) sighed. "There is no middle ground here. You are either okay or your not. So are you okay?"
"Yes!"
"Good, now let's get to the auditorium."
(A/N - I have no idea what it is... but I see these pictures/drawings... and just have a NEED to write something for them. I think I have issues. None of the above is cannon to what ever AU this image is associated with.)
Have you ever drawn rule 63 Jaune?
Not sure, but here she is

made a small (SMALL) pot of coffee but did it on auto pilot and used the usual amount of scoops (enough for a full pot) (pot is family sized) and the concoction I've brought into existance can no longer be considered coffee. it is dark enough to show Narcissus his reflection. Boss music pours from the spout. four shots of adrenaline housed in the confines of an 8oz mug. my Palpitation Potion, if you will. if this beast takes me out know I died by no means but my own hubris like god intended.

Yandere Vees x platonic reader
Vox, velvette and Valentino x reader
Warnings: Valentino
Okay so you know how I move through stories so much because I hyperfixate on something and become obsessed with it? Well guess who watched the hazbin hotel show after watching the pilot episode years ago. And I saw so much yandere potential.
So let me know if you enjoy this and if I should make more.
You were quite a modern soul, with you dying around the 2010s
And you died quite young at the age of 18
So when you get to hell your pretty scared and confused, with no one around who could help you
So you did what you could to live, by surviving off scraps and sleeping rough on the streets
That also leads you into a life of crime as you relayed on robberies and mugging people to get enough cash to afford to eat for the week
But on day you make the grand mistake of trying to mug an overlord
Vox was simply trying to avoid paparazzi by going through the back alleys, thatâs until he hears loud music out of no where
See, when you got to hell you were given your own special ability the same way the others had
Your ability was Turntablism
Which essentially means you could manipulate and create new sounds from your environment, similar to how a DJ can use turntables to manipulate and create new music from existing sounds
This means you could silence or enhance sounds around a demon and that you would be able to create a sound from the environment, such as loud music, and it would be able to discombobulate or entertain the demons around you
So you silenced your footsteps before surprising vox by blasting loud rave music to confuse him as you grabbed his wallet and phone before hightailing it out of there
Of course that doesnât work, vox watches you through the phone as he decides how to deal with you
He sees you climb into your âhomeâ which is in fact a cardboard box built around a dumpster with a small pit outside of it for fires
You intrigued him for some reason and he thought there was no harm in watching you for a few days before he decided what to do with you
He watched how you used your ability to survive and how you were actually white street smart
Eventually, he came to a decision
He appeared to you and claimed that you owed him a debt for stealing his wallet, before offering you a job as his assistant with a room in the vee tower in exchange for you soul
You were extremely cautious of him so you denied his deal, until he points out the fact that you were a young homeless girl who had stolen from a well known celebrity who could easily have killed you
So you shake his hand and your soul is officially voxs
He stuck true to his word and gave you a small room near his in the vee tower, and even if it seemed small to him it was the biggest room youâd ever slept in before
Vox explained the daily tasks he wanted you to be able to complete while you worked there and explained how he wanted to combine his hypnosis with your ability to make it so that the voxtech jingles would be more persuasive and would make more buyers come in
You nodded your head with the doubt that it would work stuck in your mind, but vox owned your soul now and you had to do what he said
He eventually introduced you to his business partners, velvette and Valentino
Velvette could not give less of a shit about you and just barked her coffee order at you
Valentino on the other hand tried to offer you a job in his studio but vox warned him that your soul was already owned, so val settled on just pouting while ordering you to fetch him some lunch
You worked with them for a few months and it wasnât all bad
Sure, they were all demanding people who would hurl abuse at you if you got something wrong, but vox provided you with food, shelter and clothes so you couldnât complain really
They all grew accustomed to your presence, so much so that when you werenât around they had the strange feeling of missing something from their daily routines
Being voxâs assistant was hard because it practically made you all of their assistant, because we all know the vees share everything
So some days youâd work closely with vox, and others youâd be in vals dressing room to assist him with scripts or choosing actors for certain projects (vox told val that you were too young to be in the studio, which you were eternally grateful for)
And other days youâd be with velvette as she scoffed for the millionth time at the fashion designers attempts to please her
Velvette liked having another young eye to look at the designs, sheâd never admit that she respects your opinion in a million years though
Eventually after working for the vees for a few months, you held a reputation in the offices
Youâd hear your bosses workers whisper the nickname âpetâ as you trailed after one of the vees with a schedule in hand
You hated it but you decided to just put up with it, itâs not like you had any authority to be able to do anything about it anymore
But the whispers of your coworkers reached the ears of your bosses and they all seemed to have a shocking reaction
When they sat down and talked about it, they realised that they do view you as more of a pet than a worker
And how they seemed to need you around in some capacity to be able to go about their days normally
Thatâs when their obsessions began
And you had a long, dark road ahead of you
This is probably trash đ
But this is just a rough idea of what Iâm trying to do so I have loads more ideas
Let me know if youâd be interested :)

CURLY - MOUTHWASHING | 18+
cw: THIS IS REALLY BAD. softdom!curly x afab!reader, juggleballs exists(but only to exist), fuck idk. both of u are just horny :(
despite the optimistic attempts of the tulpar's acclaimed captain, there were times that temptation could not be bought away by simple discipline. sometimes, watching you rub the sleep from your eyes with the bottom hem of your shirt, your silhouette staining shadows afront the night time window screenâ he can't tear his eyes away when he knows you're not looking.
seemed neither of you could sleep after that booming argument exchanged between the captain and his co-pilot. curly tossed the paper-thin sweetener packet your way as he passed by your lounging stance on the sofa. picking it nimbly with your fingers, you read the minimalistic packaging. predictably ironic, how some of the most detestable items on earth have become a luxury. on earth, you imagine, curly had just generously given you a piece of chocolate.
"don't want sweetener?" asked you, with mild incredibility. it's the one thing that made most of the food on board bearable anyway. "i don't have a taste for sweet things." he said. "you sure?" your head tipped boredly on the headrest, watching his back frame. he smiled mildly, just barely over his shoulder as his mug turned hot with coffee. "you can ask anyone. they'll tell you." right. but you're not really up to chatting with jimmy. and, well, speaking of jimmy, it seemed that both your minds were holding the same face coincidingly. he sat down beside you with his eyes trained on the screen. sometimes, you get a bit tired of the view and its entirety. just a bunch of dots symbolizing different celestial masses. like you weren't already surrounded by it. "hey." "yeah?" you hummed. he should've thought for a bit longer. curly struggled silently piecing his words together, until he blurted. "do you think anya was right about that dead pixel?" he took a hot sip. and you, glanced back at the illusion. that thing again. the whole dead pixel theory circulated around the freighter a few days ago. of course, knowing daisuke, he believed it the moment the possibility came. "... as long as it's seen, it's still there, no?" you tucked your knees in a bit. you looked at the captain. "i could believe it as long as there's a reason to." he almost looked pensive. but he didn't. the captain's face was stoic, at best. he liked pulling the curtain whenever he looked like he was struggling. you couldn't taste, that hint of regret that circumvented his mind. it left a bitter tinge on his tongue; trying to make it seem like it was just the coffee. "sometimes i wonder if i'm being misled by the bigger picture." he whispered softly as he found himself melting around you vulnerably. you hummed, again. "maybe you had him looser than you thought." the proximity between you suddenly felt palpable. but make no mistake, it was intentional. "but still. i believe, or at least have to believe in you." "i don't like letting anyone down." curly sighed as his eyes fell to his lap, and then came the unconscious outburst aroused by your presence. his heart raced. his cheeks blossomed. "and you." especially? "you're losing your head in the bigger picture again." "right." curly abandoned his mug on the table. he couldn't catch the mellow, lip-lined grin that reached your cheeks when you looked at him. but then curly did. he fidgeted with his employee card as his subtle, lighthearted smile mirrored yours while he spoke again. "and what's got you so happy?" curly questioned hushedly without glancing at you. maybe the wall next to you, or the vase across the room. but never your eyes. he might just turn to stardust. "nothing." leaning your temple against the knuckles of your fist as you rested your elbow. sure. you're thinking about nothing. nothing is the feeling of his lips. nothing is the way you're looking at each other a little too long without words. nothing is the nervous gaze under his eyelashes as either of your lips turn tangible before they took each other. why were you pretending? can he please be more than this? he couldn't take it anymore. and he was so soft and breathless. gently gripping your shoulder. your fingers traced delicately over the clothed sternum where his heart thrummed at the ship's pace, practically. like a magnet to your touch, felt like it was trying to reach you through his ribcage. goddamn it. curly took your hand and brought it just right by you with his cosy calloused fingers between the gaps of yours. you've officially anchored the captain to you. hook, line and sinker since the start. silent hums of appreciation from his throat as his kisses grew fleeting. hurting you was a nightmare. maybe kissing you with coffee breath was a bad idea. "you drive me insane at every turn, you know that?" he mumbled into your hair. his fingers reflexively squeeze around your palm. "but I love you for it. You keep me on my toes, challenge me, keep me from getting complacent. I wouldn't have you any other way.
you were turning needy at a quicker rate than you expected. every affectionate gesture only caused your desire to flicker. and with that confession, you swept in for another. words don't do much good, anyway. "curly.." you mumbled subconsciously. that. except that. that, he needed. your arms lifted to loop around his neck and curly helped like you couldn't do it any quicker, guiding your elbow over his shoulder before he took your waist in his arms, all his stress suddenly leaving so silently the moment it recognized your body.
no taste for sweet things? yeah, right. he couldn't even take his mouth off you the moment he got you into his quarters. his hands fell from your wrists to idly trace your arms, over your sleeves before stopping at your buttons. you nodded before he could even ask. his hands were there, why play oblivious? curly's lips stemmed beyond yours before his fingers got to work with unclasping with little grace. you could hear his breath just adding on a little more weight the more he got to see your skin, which earned short-lived pecks from him. "this okay?" he muttered with your shirt open. it tickled a bit, which was probably why you held onto his bicep impulsively. "yeah." you rasped quaintly. he leaned forward just to taste your voice again, that soft whimper you let out rendering sweetly on his tongue as it pushed past your lips. those hands were warm over your sides as they took a gentle feel of your torsic skin. his hair was your favorite fidget, the waves feeling just right in your fingers as you tugged carefully. curly's love-hazed gaze did an overview of your body whilst his hands rested on your lower back, like he didn't want to let go of you. once unclasping your bra, he traced his fingers over your scarred skin, awakening every sensory before you reeled the captain back in for another liplock. he groaned. "mmh." he brought the stray hand back around the small of your back to haul you onto his lap. he smelled so clean.
your thighs hooked over him, straddling him from where you lay. you've pushed curly to a point where it's starting to grow painful just being in his clothes. you pulled away from making out once you've struggled out of your clothing, pony express's uniform making heavy rustles as it took your panties with it. he had to contain his voice in his throat. "..fuck, you're so beautiful." he whispered, albeit how embarrassingly corny it was. the truth dresses for no one. he brought a thumb to swipe gently over your tender clit. almost moaning with you. he almost doesn't have the need to take his own clothes off, he's happy to just make you feel good and end the night with that. but he knows you've been waiting too long. you're an inch away from soaking. so could you really help the drop in your stomach when he reached between your legs to unfasten his thick belt? curly's hand engulfed the sheets, bunching it in his fists as he teased his tip against your pulsating core. the first inch in, his hips gently sputtered at just how tight you were. his throat took a similar manner as he gasped. "mmh-, hold on.." you whimpered, pawed and grabbed at him, your voice breaking out into a full cry you kept to yourself as he bottomed halfway. the bed would softly rock, just tapping against the room walls as he tried to get used to the feeling despite the heat creeping hotly to his face. a simple, mechanical motion that churned the moment awkward at first. you blinked at every contour of his body that you could touch. "curly.." you tugged at him. his fingers dipped just a little deeper into your waist just hearing you speak. he couldn't focus but the pleasure gave him a drive; back and inside you as his cock pumped its girth softly with the slick of your arousal, eliciting the lewdest of noises. "y-yeah? what is it, honey? what do you need?" he cooed. "..n-nothin'.." you mumbled as you chewed on your thumb's nail. "then-" he breathed, a quiet huff. "why'd you say my name?"
"...'cause you're right there." your words tumbled, a bit agitated by his questioning when you're literally going limp on his lap as he's starting to graze around the right spots as he began humping. your back curved into him. "yeah, iâ" curly mumbled back, his words broken by a moan as your hips shifted in his lap, causing a sensitive stir on his already throbbing cock. "o-oh, fuck!" he muttered to himself frantically, eyes wide, having deeply shoved himself forcefully into your clamping hole by impulseâpelvises meeting. his eyes almost burned with tears. it felt so good.
you yelped at the alarmed thrust and his cheeks creeped with warmth just seeing your skin jiggle softly from the impact. all you could render in your hair-clouded vision was his pleasure-steamed expression before you leaned up with your hands against the bed, letting him take full control. a dangerous reward. curly looked you over. "fuuck.. don't look at me like that, baby, please." he begged with his watering voice. his eyes flutter, whimpering as he stared between your bodies in bliss. the body he was holding so securely in his grip, rabbiting into the sweetest of your spots that made your cunt take him like a good girl. syrupy soft choruses of "curly!~" that wrung his restraint dry as his thrusts reduced to sticky ruts as you cum. your cries were weeping with your fluttering little folds. "s-so cute, baby..." he'd blurt to you fondly. he got helplessly vocal between his shallow breathing, 'til he began to form words. "f-fuuck, too good, baby- I'm.. I need to, I need to I need to-" curly's lips fell slack open, letting his body supplant his mind. "i can't- I can't-" he whined pitifully as grinded into the tight walls of your warm body until he felt the throbbing snap, creaming your tender insides delicately with a messy sigh. he kept your squirmish hips anchored onto him as you clawed at his shirt and rambled to him. though, he had to apologize, because in all honesty he was too dazed to really listen. time was suddenly scarce, wasted none of it leaning over to hold you and soothe your overwhelm once you fell onto the bed.
his tip left a loose connecting trail between your thighs, and he wasn't conscious of it. curly palmed your cheek gently to give your lips the soft kiss it deserved after you made love with him. (on the tulpar, with no shame.) though his hair gently trickled your skin, you couldn't miss the happy smile that graced that previously-poignant face.

secret - luke danes
luke danes x fem!reader
summary: lorelai oversteps and luke reveals your relationship
warnings: secret relationship, reader is younger than luke but no specific age is given, tiny bit of angst perhaps?
word count: 1.4k
âcoffee?â luke asked, and you pushed your mug towards him with a smile.
âthanks.â
you were sitting at a table at lukeâs diner when you overheard lorelai and rory talking about him,
the man oblivious as he went to fetch their order.
âdo you think heâs dated anyone since rachel? lorelai said to her daughter in a hushed voice.
âI donât know,â rory shrugged. âwhere would he meet anyone? heâs either here or in his apartment.â
âmaybe he has a secret life. maybe heâs got a little chippy stowed away in mount pilot,â lorelai suggested, and rory laughed through her nose. âwell weâll know eventually.â
âi think heâs a bachelor for life.â
âand i think thereâs someone for everyone,â the younger gilmore disagreed, before they began talking about music.
you tuned out the rest of their conversation, as it no longer pertained to your boyfriend. you and luke had been dating for about three months, and by some miracle had managed to keep it a secret; not an easy task in stars hollow. you couldnât change the channel on the television in this town without someone finding out about it.
you were keeping the relationship hidden while it was new, since you were new to town and you were also a bit younger than luke. you had only moved here a little under six months ago; you didnât need the added attention of a relationship while you were still settling into town, and luke respected that.
once the gilmore girls left, you went over to the counter to get another coffee to go, and luke smiled as he turned around and noticed it was you.
âhey, another coffee?â he asked.
âto go please,â you nodded, and he handed it to you, exchanging it for the mug youâd had. âcall me later?â you whispered, though the diner was pretty empty, and he nodded, before you walked out of the store.
â˘
it was a few days later, and you were walking into the diner to grab a bite to eat. you put your headphones on but didnât turn on your walkman so you could still hear as you walked inside and sat in the corner, luke holding up a finger to let you know he would be with you in a minute. you heard the door open and watched lorelai walk in and sit at the counter across from luke. you felt guilty for eavesdropping, but soon realized what the conversation was about and decided it did (slightly) pertain to you.
âhey, good party yesterday,â he greeted her, and you remembered him mentioning last night that heâd gone to help her fix something at a party her club was hosting.
âyeah, not badâ, she agreed with a smile.
âi like the new look it was very high class substitute teacher.â
âexactly what i was going for.â
âcoffee?â he asked.
âoh, to go,â she answered, and luke switched the mug heâd placed in front of her for a paper cup. âhey luke, i feel a little weird even mentioning this to you-â she began.
âwhat?â
âwell yesterday i saw you talking to ava you know sheâs in my booster club?â
âyeah i know who she is,â he replied, and you wondered what she was getting at.
âso anyhow, i saw you guys talking alone and it seemed kind of private and she mentioned earlier that you didnât make her you know - gag,â she emphasized the word before continuing. âso I just figured you guys were making some sort of plans to hang out and see the thing is i just think it would be a little weird if you started dating a chilton mom.â you sat dumbfounded on the other side of the diner and luke raised his eyebrows slightly as she rambled on. âi know i have no right to say anything to you, but itâs just if you did date her - well iâm in the booster club with her which means iâll hear things and i donât know itâs just- iâd like to keep that chilton life separate from my stars hollow life so if thereâs anyway that you could not date her, that would be really great,â she finished with a smile and a tap of her fingers on the counter top.
you sat in disbelief in your seat, still not daring to look their way as you wondered if it might have been better to not listen to the conversation after all.
âboy i tell you, youâve got nerve,â he replied, sounding less than impressed with her speech.
âokay, uh w-â she stuttered. âwell i know this is your private business-â
âit is my private business.â
âyou donât see any validity to my side at all?â she asked.
âi am a grown man. you cannot tell me who to date to date,â he insisted.
âiâm not telling you who to date, iâm telling you who not to date,â she argued.
âyou canât tell me that either!â
âlook-â she began but he interrupted her.
âi will date who i like and if that screws with your plans, then iâm sorry - and if you donât wanna hear things then donât listen.â
âbut-â
âif you donât like it, you can just deal with it!â he said, and you werenât sure you had ever heard him use that tone before.
âokay! iâll just deal with it!,â she replied.
âgood.â
âi just thought that if something was going to affect our friendship in some way that you might care about that because if the situation was reversed then i would care about that but thatâs me! so go ahead date her!â she said, standing up, obviously offended. âmarry her! make her mrs.backwards baseball cap - live happily ever after. see if i care!â lorelai flapped her arm around as she began walking out of the diner. âand by the way, I wasnât asking her out,â luke informed her. âi was giving her directions for the quickest way back to hartford. it was very romantic. i said you take a right at deerfield and you catch the I-5 and you take it south. oh man, hot stuff!â he explained.
âthat is so typical of you!â
âwhat?â he said, and you could recognize by his voice that he was rolling his eyes.
âthat is not the quickest way back to hartford. everybody knows that you take main to cherry to linwood and then grab the 11. everybody knows that luke - everybody apparently but you!â she said, and her voice wavered as if she was getting emotional.
âand just for the record, not that itâs any of your business at all, iâm seeing someone. donât worry sheâs not one of the snobs in your chilton club so you wonât have to hear about it!â
you were glad you didnât have a coffee yet or you probably would spat it out in surprise, and you wished more than anything that you had been able to see the look or lorelais face. you had nothing against her, but you did agree she had severely overstepped here.
âwell thatâs great! iâm so happy for you!â she spat angrily, and stormed out of the diner. thankfully there hadnât been many people inside eating to hear the conversation, or lukeâs confession of having a girlfriend. you decided you werenât as concerned with people finding out anymore. you were happy with luke and thatâs what was most important.
âhey,â luke greeted quietly as he appeared next to your table with a mug and coffee pot.
âhey,â you smiled up at him.
âhow much did you hear?â he asked sheepishly, pouring you drink.
âall of it,â you admitted. âiâm sorry.â
âyou donât have to apologize. iâm sorry i told her without asking i just-â
âhey,â you put your hand on his softly. âiâm not mad. i guess the cats kinda out of the bag though.â
âno one knows itâs you,â he pointed out.
âitâs a small town - how long do you think itâll take them to figure it out?â you laughed.
âyeah i guess so.â
âso, this chilton mom-â you teased.
âdonât start,â he rolled his eyes, but smiled. âyouâre really okay with people knowing about us?â he asked, and you nodded.
âyeah, i am,â you decided. âare you?â
âyeah, i guess i am,â he agreed, and you smiled.
âgood.â
âgood,â you beamed, and luke walked back behind the counter. you thought he had gone back to work, but he returned with another mug of coffee and sat down across from you.
âmind if i join you?â he teased, and you were surprised.
âare youâŚtaking a break?â
âyeah,â he agreed.
âyou? luke danes? are taking a break-â
âshut up before i change my mind?â he said playfully and you smiled, sipping your coffee.
âdeal.â

falling backwards
rafayel; 1,670 words; fluff, fem!reader, no "y/n", slight!suggestiveness, fade to black, the slightest spoilers for raf's bday card, existential cuteness?
summary: the sky forgets, but the sea remembers
a/n: this is rly short and sweet, with a sprINKLE of spice in there for the bday boi!! happy belated my fav mermaid oi
lost and found.
He has waited for you for a thousand years.
And like, this he thinks he could wait for you a thousand more.
âDo you remember?â he asks, his thumb running along the thick rim of his coffee mug, the morning sun pouring thick and lemon-sweet through the endless windows of his vast studio.
âA little,â you say, your eyes fixed on your own coffee, steam still rising in faint, ghostly tendrils above the milky surface.
âOnly a little?â Rafayel sighs, leaning back in his chair, his white shirt buttoned carelessly to the middle of his chest, revealing a strip of smooth, unmarred skin beneath. You lick your lips and take a sip of your steaming coffee, cheeks warming as you try to look anywhere else.
âI was just a kidâŚâ you say, a little rueful of his disappointment, but Rafayel only laughs, leaning forward to dip a finger into the chantilly cream dollopped on top of the bowl of fruit sitting in the middle of the table. He reaches out and swipes a bit onto the tip of your nose, making you jerk back, going slightly cross-eyed as you frown.
âHey!â
âThere she is ââ he nods, apparently satisfied as he sucks the remaining cream from the tip of his finger, eyes flickering up to meet yours, âThereâs that laugh I love so muchâŚâ
You somehow find it in yourself to blush and look away, the abashedness of all your previous and younger years welling up inside you, only to crest up your neck and into your cheeks like the morning tide, staining your skin in the color of sunrise. Rafayel watches you with a pleased glint in his eyes, his tongue flickering out to wet his lips.
âYou promised youâd come back for me,â he says, pushing his mouth up into a childish pout. You fight the urge to roll your eyes.
âThat I donât remember,â you say, petulant, as you wipe the bit of cream from your nose, scrunching your face to make sure thereâs no more. But itâs a lie â though not entirely. You do remember, but only in the way the most important memories always fade with time, tucking themselves into the forgotten corners of your mind until theyâre needed. And then up they come, floating to the top of your mindâs eye in flickers and goldfish flashes, like brightly colored fins caught in the morning light, just beneath the waterâs shimmering surface.
âLiar,â Rafayel says, and you donât refute him. He takes a long sip of his coffee and casts his eyes towards the distant horizon beyond his huge, studio windows. The air smells of burgeoning spring, of melting snow and drying paint. Of empty canvases and seafoam and the dewdrops lingering on the leaves of freshly budding flowers.
You press your palms to the warmth of the thick ceramic mug cupped between your hands.
âBut⌠you found me again, didnât you?â
a whole new world.
The entire world is 70% water. So you know this. So Rafayel tells you.
âThe other 30% though, I had no way of seeing, of knowing ââ his eyes are faraway as you sit, shoulders pressed against each other, a thick blanket wrapped around you both as the morning chill threatens to seep right into the marrow of your bones.
âI wanted to see the world â the whole world â not just the parts that were sunken under water.â
He says the words sunken like a curse, but you lower your eyes to your hands, clasped in your lap, and you wonder if things enveloped by the soft embrace of water might have it better than the bits of the world doomed to be above it.
âYâknow⌠I wanted to be a pilot when I was a kid,â you say, leaning back and casting your eyes far up towards the endless sky, the horizons brightening in silken steams of pinks and yellows. Still, the sky directly above you with color of a healing bruise, and a thick, unrelenting darkness simmers along the opposite skyline like a crouched cat, waiting for the sun to turn her head before leaping back up again.
âYou did? I thought⌠well, honestly, I thought all Hunters wouldâve wanted to become Hunters from when they were kids.â
You shrug, laughing, âYouâre not wrong, but⌠I thought â how cool must it be to fly the planes that Hunters rode in for their bigger missions? How cool would it be to pilot something into Deepspace? I mean⌠thereâs so much out there that we donât knowâŚâ
Rafayel turns toward you. You flash him a soft, indulgent smile.
âSo⌠in that sense, weâre not so different â we both wanted to see part of the world that we hadnât before. Parts of the world that we didnât have access to but⌠I was thinking about it and⌠isnât that a kind of running away too?â
Rafayel stills, his breath going shallow as he turns back to watch the far horizon, where the dawn is rising like a great phoenix, feathers burning, her throat full of bright orange light, and suddenly, all the stories and legends make sense.
âThe sea remembers everything the sky forgetsâŚâ Rafayel says, never taking his eyes off the rising sun, âThatâs what my teacher used to tell me. Artists â we try to remember the things that the world tries to forget too â we paint moments and feelings, try to capture a second in time, even though weâre doomed to fail, over and over again.â
You turn to glance at him, and you catch him staring. Your eyes meet and itâs not so unlike the colliding of lost stars. He reaches out to trace a finger along the edge of your cheek and you feel your breath burning like sunrise in your chest, and suddenly, thereâs an entire world caught in your belly, a rising dawn feathering its way out of your throat â
Kiss me, you want to say. Instead, you say, âHappy birthday.â
Thanks, it looks like he might say.
He leans in to kiss you instead.
calculations.
Later, when the sun has risen and set once more, when the tides have come and gone again, when the moon hangs high and envious in the late winter sky and he has his lips pressed to yours, the taste of your pleas slick and sweet on his tongue, he wonders if a lifetime under water has just been preparation for this.
He traces the seashell shapes of his fingers along the white sand beaches of your skin, dropping kisses into the moonlit pools caught in the dip of your collarbones.
âR-Raf ââ
He savors in the way your breath catches and cuts, the way he can sever them with silver scissors as he laves his tongue across the midnight bruises blooming along your shoulder, your chest, your hips, the soft, plush insides of your thighs.
âDonât you think you owe me at least this much?â he asks, his own voice a soft rasp as he pulls back, panting, âAfter leaving me alone all those years ago⌠making me wait for so long?â
You keen, head pressing back into the soft feather-down pillows of the mountain-top chalet, lips kissed pink, your cheeks flushed dark with color.
âI â please â more ââ
âMmâŚâ Rafayel grins as he cocks his head, drinking in the sight of you spread out beneath him, âSince you asked so nicelyâŚâ
He figures that the human body is also made 70% water. Of salt and gravity. Of the mind forgetting while the body remembers.
Of oxygen and the stuff of lost and wandering stars.
âTell me one more time,â he says, bending down to graze his lips along your earlobe. He savors in the way your body shakes with shivers, the slick of sweat, the soft break in your voice as moan his name.
âRaf - a - yel â please. I want â I want you.â
hiraeth.
âDo you⌠ever miss home?â
You try to think about how it might feel to miss a home you can no longer go back to, to come from a place that everyone around you has written off as legend â about the doubt and uncertainty, but about the freedom too.
Itâs the morning after, except this time, youâre tucked into the bend of his arm, your ankles locked beneath the twisted sheets, his hair a tangled mess, haloed around his face against the soft white of the pillows.
âHome⌠doesnât always have to be a place, yâknow.â
âYeah⌠I know that.â
âOh? You do?â
Rafayel smiles, a thing of tenderness and salt, even as he tucks you close. Like this, you wonder if he knows that thereâs an entire ocean locked beneath the dark of his gaze.
âSure I do. Ever since that day â on the beach, my home hasnât really been Lemuria.â
You swallow passed the dryness collecting in your throat like so much soft, white sand.
âThenâŚâ
Rafayel lets out a puff of laughter, turning his eyes towards the ceiling.
âCâmon, I thought you had to be smart to pass the Hunter exams.â
You crinkle your nose and inch in closer.
âMaybe⌠maybe I just want to hear you say it.â
You donât miss the way his ears go red as he makes a show of sighing, glancing back towards you with a helpless smile.
âFine, fine â ahem⌠here it goes,â he says, clearing his throat with perhaps too much pomp and circumstance.
âEver since that day on the beach⌠my home hasnât really been LemuriaâŚâ his voice trails off as his eyes soften and he turns to face you properly, the teasing lilt seeping from his voice until the only thing left is warmth and honesty and you canât help but hold your breath.
âSince then⌠my homeâs always been⌠you.â

love you, miss you, mean it (ii)
*part two of the original!*
**read part one here!**
pairing: bob floyd x f!kazansky reader
word count: 3.6k
summary: during his time back at topgun, bob finds a found family within the daggers. now that the special detachment mission is over, the daggers are being recognized for their success, and all of their families are gathered around them. when rooster recognizes an esteemed guest arrive with shiny new wedding bands, bets are on who the admiral's daughter is married to.
based on this ask! (thanks for the best ideas frank <3)
warnings: mentions of injury and hospitals, a small section of angst, dagger family love, phoenix being my fav ever, angst followed by more bubble gum fluff.
-
Years later, after a long engagement and an intimate backyard wedding, flight school and master's programs, TOPGUN (the first time,) and a handful of deployments and moves, Bob and Y/N Floyd now lived in a cottage-style home not far from the beaches of North Island. Well, they did for the past few months, since Bob got his call back to TOPGUN. Y/N didn't mind, she knew what she was signing up for when she married a Navy man, she only missed Bob now more than ever. She occupied her time by walking their dog, visiting her Dad who lived only a ten minute drive away, and rewatching her favorite TV show while she waited for Bob to come home at night. This mission had been different from the others, not that Bob nor her Dad could tell her much, the details had been fairly secretive. Y/N only knew that Bob left early in the morning, almost always before the sun, pushing his glasses up his nose and kissing her forehead. He'd return home after the sun had set, reeking of jet fuel and sweat. He'd be exhausted and dirty, but he'd make sure to take his sleeping wife from the couch to their shared bed before going to shower the day off of him. He'd be gone by the time she woke every morning, but there was always a post-it on her coffee mug in his scratchy handwriting:
Love you, miss you, mean it.
Y/N knew about his new teammates, the cocky Hangman, the kind and charming Rooster, the pranking, jokester duo of Payback and Fanboy, the smooth talking Coyote, and of course the infamous Maverick, who she knew better as Uncle Mav. Maverick had been in and out of her house throughout her whole life, which Bob was somewhat shocked and also unsurprised to know. She knew every time he was about to go into the air, accompanied by his new partner, Phoenix, who he talked about most of all. Y/N would hear her phone ding with a message, checking it quickly to see Bob's name flash across the screen.
In the air with Phoe, love you, miss you, mean it. x
The phrase that had started as an inside joke had slowly become a term of love that she looked forward to every day. It gave her something to look forward to, a sign that he was okay, that at least for a brief moment in time, he was okay.
After a week or so into his new training, Y/N began to notice some differences in her husband. He was still mostly himself-quiet but talkative in her presence, talking about his day with an upbeat attitude, but any mention of their present mission would send the corners of his smile downward a bit. Y/N didn't fully understand why, but with the amount of talented pilots and WSO's on this mission, she knew it was a dangerous one.
Several days later, Y/N woke up feeling...out of place. She had woken earlier than normal, considering how late she had stayed up waiting for Bob to get home. She felt uneasy, but blamed it on her lack of sleep. She continued her routine like normal-coffee, breakfast, walking the dog, starting the laundry-but every time she started a new task her mind began to wander. She knew she was likely overreacting, her mind playing tricks on her. When she came in from her walk, she immediately checked her phone, her thoughts taking over. She breathed a sigh of relief, there were no terrible messages or missed calls, only random notifications from her installed apps. Y/N still feels shaky for reasons she can't explain, so she reaches for the one person she always calls when she feels this way. It rings for a few seconds before the call picks up and her father's voice fills her ears.
"Hey, pumpkin! What's going on?"
Y/N sighs, biting her lip.
"Hey, Dad, sorry to bother you at work, I just, I've got a bad feeling I can't shake...I-I don't know what's wrong with me."
"Hey, hey, none of that. Nothing's wrong with you," her father's voice was calm and comforting. "Remember what we do when you have thoughts like this?"
Y/N was about to respond when her phone beeped with another incoming phone call from an unidentified number. Y/N's eyebrows furrowed, she recognized the local area code.
"Dad, let me call you back, I'm getting a call."
Her father signed off quickly, and Y/N's heart hammered as she answered the other number.
"Hello?"
"Hi, is this Y/N Floyd?"
"Um, yes, this is she. May I ask who's calling?"
"Mrs. Floyd, this is the Naval Medical Center of San Diego. You've been listed as the emergency contact of Lt. Robert Floyd-"
Y/N's ears seemed to flood with water, unable to hear anything the nurse on the other line was saying as she sank onto the nearby chair, forcing her brain to tune into the words coming through the speaker.
"He is in stable condition, he is alert with no serious injuries. We would just like to keep him overnight for further observation."
"O-Okay, um, thank you. Am I allowed to see him?"
"Of course, he's in room 431, just visit the desk before to get a visitor's pass."
"Thank you."
Y/N hung up the phone and collapsed against the back of the sofa, her chest heavy and eyes overwhelming with tears. Her phone beeps, reminding her that her father was still on hold. She takes a deep breath, wiping away her flurry of tears before pressing the button and rising form the couch, in search of her keys.
"Hey, everything alright?" Her dad's soft voice entered her ears.
"Uh, no, no," She couldn't keep her resolve, her tough facade faltering quickly. She knew that Bob was fine, that he hadn't been hurt, but the phone call had terrified her. "Bobby and his partner had to emergency eject, he's at the hospital. I-the nurse said he was fine, but it scared the shit out of me, Dad."
She pulled her keys from the bowl by the door, all but racing towards her car as her father tried to calm her, reassuring her everything was fine.
-
Bob leans back against the pillow on the hospital bed, his few scratches and cuts already bandaged. Phoenix had been the same, the dark haired pilot now sitting in a chair next to her backseater's bedside.
"My wife is gonna kill me," Bob's quiet voice finally broke the silence, his eyes toward the ceiling.
Phoenix wasn't an idiot-she knew that her partner had a wife. Bob was quiet, private, especially with the other members of the squad, but Phoenix was incredibly observant. She noted the gold band on the chain around his neck under his flight suit, and the Polaroid picture of him and a girl tucked into his chest he glanced at from time to time. She'd never press him to talk about it, but she noticed.
"Doubt it," came her reply. "She's probably freaking out though. Not a common occurrence that your loved ones have to eject a fighter jet."
Bob's eyebrows raised, "When your father is the Commander of the US Pacific Fleet, you get used to it."
Phoenix's eyes widened, her jaw dropping. "Holy shit, Floyd! You married an Admiral's daughter?! Iceman's daughter, no less! I never would have thought that. Innocent little Bob, with an Admiral's daughter."
Bob chuckles lightly, sitting up with a slight groan. Footsteps sounded behind them, Y/N appearing before both of them. She had been crying, Bob noted quickly, her clothes disheveled as if she had simply ran out of the house.
"Baby," Bob's voice came, Y/N saying nothing as she approached him, doing nothing but wrapping her arms around his torso, her head tucked into the crook of his neck. She nearly cried at his familiar touch, his familiar smell-jet fuel, sweat, the lingering scent of his cologne. Any other time, she would've pushed him off lightly, telling him he needed a shower, but now, she wouldn't have cared if he smelled like rotting food. Bob's muscular arms held her tight, kissing the top of her head.
"Robert Floyd, you scared the living shit out of me. Never do that again."
He knew his wife's words were in jest, she had been shaken by the news of his ejection, but was thankful he was okay. The couple broke apart, Y/N's hands pushing Bob's hair that had fallen in his face, his hands on either side of her hips. Y/N turned to the girl in the chair, her face clouding over with embarrassment.
"I am so sorry, I completely barged in without even speaking. You must be Phoenix. I've heard so much about you, it's so great to meet you. I'm Y/N."
Phoenix smiles, "Natasha, itâs great to meet you too. Although I canât say the same, Bob here keeps all intel about you on pretty tight lock. Donât blame him though, the others would probably give him hell for snagging an Admiralâs daughter.â
Y/N blushes but laughs heartedly at Phoenixâs jab, the two quickly falling into a conversation with one another. Bob sits back and watches, his thumb rubbing his wifeâs diamond ring and wedding band where their hands intertwined. As he watched the two women bond, he began to think of the rest of his found family. He wanted to introduce Y/N to the other Daggers, for his favorite people to finally all know one another.
-
The perfect opportunity presented itself in the form of the Daggersâ recognition ceremony after their successful mission. All of the Daggers and their respective families would be present, and of course, Ice would be there as well, as long as numerous other Navy personnel.
Under the summer sun of North Island, each of the Daggers sported their dress whites, their families in chairs in the crowd. Bob sat next to Phoenix, the pair exchanging knowing glances when people they knew arrived, or when certain family members arrived in a sort of over-the-top fashion. Phoenix had nudged him harshly with her elbow when Y/N arrived, dazzling in her sundress, sunglasses over her eyes as her arm was interlaced with her fatherâs.
âSince when was Ice Spice married?â Roosterâs voice sounded amongst the small crowd the Daggers had formed. âI swear I saw rings on her left hand. I mean I havenât actually seen her since we were like sixteen, but I didnât know she got married.â
âIce Spice? The hell are you talking about, Bradshaw?â Hangmanâs southern accent responded, eyes squinting as he looked into the crowd. âYou mean Admiral Kazanskyâs daughter? âIce Spiceâ whereâd that come from?â
âIt was her nickname, we grew up around the same people, most of the kids nicknames were extensions of their Dadâs call signs. Baby Goose,â he gestured to himself. âIce Spice.â He gestured to Y/N. âI didnât even know she had a boyfriend though, God Iâm out of the loop.â
Bob couldnât help but grin to himself, almost glad heâd not told anyone other than Phoenix, whose brown eyes were piercing the side of his head, as if to say âare you gonna say something?!â
âSheâs gotta be married to someone here, though, right?â Coyoteâs voice sounded. âNot like sheâs coming to all her Dadâs events for shits and giggles. My moneyâs on someone higher up, some other Admiral or something.â
Fanboy scoffs, âWho? Cyclone?â His voice is laced with sarcasm.
âNo fucking way,â came Paybackâs reply. âSheâs way too good looking for someone like him. Way too young too, heâs ancient next to her.â
All Dagger eyes were locked on Y/N from across the pavilion, her smile wide as she spoke with another Admiralâs wife Bob couldnât quite remember the name of.
âIâm gonna go with Javyâs theory. Nobody under Ice would be man enough to try to date his daughter. Iâm a cocky son of a bitch, but one look from Iceman makes sweat roll down my back.â Hangmanâs response was honest.
âHeâs not so bad,â Bradley spoke. âBut youâre not wrong, heâs one hell of an intimidating man. Youâd have to have balls of steel to approach him about dating his daughter, especially if youâre under him.â
Bob smirked, remembering just how nervous he had been on Tom Kazanskyâs front door at seventeen years old.
âWhat about you two? Where are you placing your bets?â Mickey looked over at Bob and Natasha.
Phoenixâs smile widens into a sly grin, the one she gets when she proves Rooster wrong, or gets one over on Hangman in the air.
âGirl like her-gorgeous, high-ranking father, everyone seems to love her. My guess is on someone youâd never expect, someone out of left field.â
Hangman nods, contemplating. âWhat about you Baby on Board?â
Bobâs eyes widen beneath his glasses as he scrambles for a thought. He looks over at his wingman, Phoenix giving him a look that undoubtably means to play along with it.
âUh, I gotta go with Natâs theory.â
âCourse you do,â Coyote jokes. âSo $100 on the bets, winning team take all?â
The Daggers agree unanimously, Phoenixâs grin almost slimy with satisfaction.
âFloyd,â a slap on Bobâs shoulder jolts him into sitting straight before turning to look at where the voice came from. âGood to see you, man. Havenât seen you and the missus around much lately.â
âAdmiral Jones, good to see you,â Bob shakes the older manâs hand with a firm grip. âTheyâve been keeping me busy. I think weâre coming to the barbecue Sunday, you and Mrs. Jones enjoy Boston? How were the grandkids?â
The Daggers watch intently as the most reserved member of their group chats animatedly with an Admiral that theyâd only seen in passing, Phoenix stifling a chuckle at the secret only she seems to know. The Admiral walks away after a moment, and Bob turns back to the group, who all look at him as if waiting for an explanation.
âNeighbor,â came Bobâs short reply.
âMissus?â Roosterâs voice speaks, his whiskey colored eyes shooting down to Bobâs hands, his wedding band glimmering in the sun. âIâve never seen you with that.â
âOh, no, probably not,â Bob starts. âWear it on my dog tags when weâre in the air.â
âBobâs married, and weâre all bachelors? Never saw that coming.â Hangmanâs voice pipes up.
âItâs always the quiet ones,â Paybackâs retort is the last chuckle as the ceremony begins.
Admiral Kazansky opens the ceremony, introducing Maverick and the other members respectively, honoring them and finishing out the ceremony as quickly as professional. As the service ends, the Daggers distribute but keep close quarters, looking to see who the Kazansky girl ends up running to. Meanwhile, Phoenix watches as Bob interacts with nearly every member of high-ranking in attendance. He goes from bumbling, awkward Bob, to some other version of himself that makes dad jokes and has a firm handshake.
âWell Phoe,â Rooster speaks as he sits down in the chair next to her. âThe only person Iâve seen her hug is Mav, and I know itâs not him. Should I just ask her myself?â
Phoenix face breaks out into a full blown smile as she watches Y/N make a quick sprint through the crowd of Navy uniforms to get to her husband, her arms thrown around his neck as her smile could blind.
âWonât be necessary, Roo. I think the mystery has been solved, and Iâm about to be $300 richer.â
Roosterâs eyes cut to his childhood friend embracing his teammate, Bobâs hands resting respectively on her waist, his blue eyes locked on his wife.
âHoly shit. Bob? And Ice Spice? Jesus-you-â he turns to face Natasha. âYou knew!â
âTheyâre high school sweethearts. Got married right after he finished the Academy, been together ever since. Live in one of those cute cottage houses by Pennyâs, got a Corgi named Solo. Frequent guests at most Navy personnel barbecues, birthdays, weddings-it was Bobâs story, didnât seem right for me to tell.â
Rooster sighs, standing to tell Coyote who stood talking with his sister. Javyâs eyes widen, looking over at the couple who is now talking to another Admiral and his wife, Y/Nâs laugh fading into the crowd of voices. Javy nudges Jake talking beside him, Jakeâs cocky grin fading as Mickey and Rueben have both already noticed. Their looks of shock fade momentarily as Bob pulls Y/N towards their direction, a smile plastered onto his face. Y/Nâs smile is bright, her arm intertwined with her husbands, her pastel purple dress blowing in the sea breeze.
âFloyd! Got somethinâ youâd like to tell us?â Hangmanâs shit-eating grin faced Bob.
Bob letâs out a chuckle. âY/N, meet the one and only Hangman.â
Y/N smiles, nodding, âPleasure to meet you, Lieutenant Seresin.â
âThe pleasure is all mine,â Hangman gives Bob a wink as Bob flips him off in response.
âIgnore him, baby.â Bobâs voice is full of good-natured humor, used to the teasing. âThe tall one is Coyote, next to him is Payback, Fanboy, of course you know Phoe, and R-â
âBradley Bradshaw,â his wifeâs voice speaks. âHow long has it been?â
She approaches Rooster with her arms wide open, Bradley reciprocating her hug.
âToo long, Ice Spice. Howâd a nice girl like you end up with our Bob here?â
Y/Nâs eyes furrow, her smile never faltering. âUm, when Dad and I moved, Bobby and I went to the same high school, been together ever since, high school sweethearts.â Her eyes sparkled as they met Bobâs sapphire ones, her arm going back around his arm. âWhat can I say? Heâs a charmer.â
The Daggers hovered for nearly an hour, all taking turns swapping stories with Bob and his wife, getting to know one another. They mostly told stories to embarrass Bob, jabbing at him and his âballs of steelâ for not only dating, but marrying an Admiralâs daughter. Commending him on his royal stupidity for hiding his wife from them, all commenting that she was infinitely cooler than Bob himself. Bob took them all in stride, giving Y/N a kiss to her head before Phoenix began chatting with his wife. Standing in the center of the big group of people he considered family, his wife on his arm, charming them all, his heart swelled in his chest, warmness blooming, the same warmth he had felt when he spent time in the Kazansky house-true familial love, understanding someone without having to say a word.
As the Daggers split off one by one, leaving only Bob and Y/N, he pulled her close, hand on her waist, the setting sun and light breeze a picturesque backdrop for their night.
âHey, Floyd?â His wifeâs sweet voice reached his ears.
âYeah, Floyd?â He chuckled back, pulling her in closer, leaving a kiss on her temple.
âWe should have a celebration of your successful mission. A real one, not a formal one like this. We could invite everyone, all the Daggers, and their families. We haven't had Nat around at the house yet, and Dad would love it, would give him and Uncle Mav more time to conjure up how to terrorize the Navy even further.â
Bob nods, âI like that idea. Sounds good, Iâll text the group, see what weekend works best." His voice turns serious. "Thank you, baby, youâve always been my biggest supporter, feel like I donât tell you that enough.â
His wife is quiet for a moment, her focus on her shoes walking on the ground. She looks up at him, her expression serious.
âIâm proud to call you my husband. Always have been, but just thought I should remind you. And as much as Iâve missed you through this special training, itâs nice to see you have other people who take care of you, appreciate you like I do.â Sheâs quiet before she starts again. âAll that to say, love you, missed you, mean it.â
Bob laughs loudly into the air, stopping to pull his wife into a proper kiss, one a tad more inappropriate than the chaste ones heâd given her after the ceremony. The two finally break after a need for air arises, their pupils blown wide as they stare at one another.
âHow long do you think we have until your Dad notices weâre not at his place for dinner?â Bobâs voice is deeper, sultry.
âLong enough,â his wife replies. Bob smiles and picks her up into his arms bridal style, her laughter boisterous as he races her back to his trusty pick-up truck parked close by, his chest so full of love for her he simply canât contain his wide grin filling his face.
As he starts the truck and peels out of the parking lot, he looks over at his wife, her curled hair blowing in the wind from the rolled down window, her pastel purple dress highlighting her best features. Heâs hit with a wave of nostalgia, a younger version of his wife in this same truck-her hair a bit longer, her eyes still wide with new love, a purple corsage on the same hand where a wedding band now sits.
âWhat?â She giggles, noticing his stare on her as theyâre stopped at a red light.
âYouâre beautiful.â She blushes pink, just like she had at the bottom of her childhood homeâs staircase, the night Bobby had uttered those words through a shaking voice.
He thinks of seventeen-year-old Bobby, the version of himself who had said those words for the first time, more in love with Y/N now than he was then. If only seventeen-year-old Bobby could see him now, maybe he wouldnât have been shaking with nerves, sweating through his rented tux. Bob smiles to himself as Y/N leans to turn the radio up, a folk song they both love.
He shakes his head, maybe itâs best his younger version didnât know the outcome. The nerves were good, healthy. Even shaking, stammering teenage Bobby had more nerve than he thought. After all, he was there to pick up an Admiralâs daughter.

my silly little hcs
more under the cut
Curly
comes from a very very very big family, the kind of australian family that always has either a slow roast or a grill on at all times. their house smells amazing. but no food lasts longer than 10 minutes.
went to college with jimmy, absolutely had a weird fling with him that he doesn't really think about anymore. if you ask him about it he just shrugs "ah yeah you know, we were young. still figuring stuff out" and jimmy is in the corner still recovering in the worst way possible
had a dog when he was younger named harry, he was a boston terrier
actually wanted to join the air force and be a real pilot, but he had to settle for next best and applied to be a freighter pilot a couple years later after becoming burnt out in his early 20's when pony expressed picked him up, he offered the job to jimmy when he was 25
Smokes with Jimmy, totally shouldn't. Anya gives him a serious glare every time he does it, but she doesn't turn down a cigarette either, depending on the day
is sort of ? dating anya ? its a bit complicated, its become a situation of waiting for the first person to act first (they never do)
voice claim - bluey's dad, bandit
Anya
comes from a very small village, she moved away from home when she turned 19 to go pursue medicine in america, unfortunetly it got pricey very quickly, and she was unable to finish her courses, but kept applying regardless until pony express approached her. shes been with them ever since
had a white cat when she was younger named roan
her younger sister got married as soon as she turned 18, which made anya feel a little left, she felt very "behind" and ended up making some questionable relationship choices because of this. realized that was stupid a little too late.
has a very obvious and very terrible crush on curly, doesn't do a very good job at hiding it but thankfully the man is very dumb and hans't realised it yet (neither has she) (daisuke brings it up once and she almost dropped her favorite mug)
doesn't have her license, and probabaly never will. she rides a bike everywhere, is definitely some end of the hippie spectrum but never has enough free time to truly commit to that.
she has a habit of chewing her fingernails whenever she is nervous, so she paints them regularly to try and break the habit. Her favorite color is actually orange.
voice claim - diane nguyen
Swansea
despite what many people think, Swansea actually got divorced on relatively good terms with his ex-wife. As he was sober entering the relationship, and ended it. He still talks to his kids, and laments over how they sound just like Daisuke sometimes. They'd be around the same age too.
he actually hates coffee, and can't stand the taste of it. Tastes like dirt to him, and would rather drink something sweet or even tea if it's an option. He sometimes drinks coffee if it's the only thing though
Curly was actually his intern for a little while when he first started out, he was helping out carrying boxes and moving stuff around to help him get acquainted with the layout of the ship or to put those young legs to work. They go back a little, so it means something to Swansea to see him achieve what he has. He would never admit it publically, but he is proud of him.
He wanted to play instruments when he was younger but never got much say in it considering how quickly his life fell apart. So he settled for the first thing before him to get him out of that pit, and it just stuck.
He plays card games in his spare time, usually practising. Now that he has a victim, he beats Daisuke at everything.
Swansea actually did not trust Jimmy at all when he first came on board, said Jimmy reminded him too much of a weasel. And he kept that right up until the end.
He notices a little bit of his own kids in all the crew, and it's definitely something he internalizes like crazy. Being so far away from his own kids, he tends to let them lean on him a little more than he should and would make a poor Captain for this exact trait. He just can't bring himself to be too strict, and even after reprimanding Daisuke, he feels extremely guilty, even if it was an important lesson. His sentimentality gets to him easily, but he tries to not show it.
Voice Claim - Ron Swanson
Jimmy
Wanted to be a cop at some point.
He doesn't speak to his sisters, they've long left him or gone off to go do their own thing. He's better off without them anyways.
He met Curly when he was younger, and wanted to desperately be his friend but didn't know how to express that. So he hit Curly over the head with his lunchbox, and they've been friends ever since. Curly took it as just roughhousing, something he was very used to in his large family.
He is allergic to cats, and constantly sneezed around Daisuke in the first few months.
Jimmy actually hates playing board games, he thinks they're extremely boring, but it was very hard to say no when Curly would drag him into them every time. It got the point where he had to start purposefully avoiding him until he got over this phase.
After Curly graduated early and went off to go to flight school, Jimmy dropped out. He was studying finance and law. Went on a four-year bender, and got himself stuck in multiple dark pits that he thought couldn't get any deeper until he ended up somehow on Curly's doorstep. Curly has been working hard to essentially rehabilitate him to a healthier life. Jimmy hates this.
Totally doesn't have a huge crush on Curly still, it rots him to his core at how disgusting it is. Half the time he doesn't even know if these feelings come from desperation, genuine love or anxiety of being in that pit again, and he rolls his eyes at the idea of even discussing it.
Despite being very lanky, he is not the most acrobatic man ever. And is quite clumsy, he tries to hide this but Curly always notices and it drives him nuts.
Voice claim - Bojack Horseman
Daisuke
He has three cats back at home. Junebug, Jazzy and Ducky.
Daisuke actually really likes pokemon, but unfortunately, he didn't bring any games with him. He complains about it almost daily.
Even though he beats Anya in board games, he will probably never beat Swansea. He's so jealous of the card deck he holds.
Has an even bigger sweet tooth than Swansea somehow, and absolutely split one of the last few candy bars from the vending machines.
His mother is a writer, and his father is an architect. He wanted to pursue art but felt like it was very lacking in comparison to his parent's achievements. He didn't resist when they gave him the opportunity to intern, but It wasn't fantastic news either.
Daisuke is actually extremely smart in very technical stuff. He will repeat the dumbest string of words, but accomplish something only a master electrician could in seconds. Swansea and Curly don't understand how his brain works, but it gets the job done. (Its the Autism)
Daisuke is actually terrified of doing something without his parent's permission. He was never an extremely rebellious kid, and it always felt weird to do something without them knowing or their permission first. He was a nervous kid and wasn't always sure if what he was doing was the right thing to do or if he was doing it correctly. This was a habit that got on Jimmy's nerves very quickly.
Daisuke sings in the shower, very loudly. He brought his own walkman, but unfortunately, that got misplaced somehow and he's been bummed out ever since. In return, Swansea and Anya let him have choice of the music sometimes to make him feel included.
He doodles with Anya, showing off their art skills to each other. Anya has a portrait he drew of her in her office desk. She loves it.
Voice Claim - Finn the human

Thermodynamics and Turmoil (Curly x Reader pt. 4)
I am back !! Thank you for bearing with me as I try and figure out where I want to take this :)
Last Next
Engineer! Reader x Curly TW: J*mmy being a creep Word Count ~ 1.7k
A few days passed since the incident in the utility room, and (Y/N) saw very little of Curly. It was almost as if he was now the one avoiding her. The only thing keeping her from believing so was Jimmy telling the crew that they were steering through a chaotic bit of space debris and bragging about his contribution.
âWell if youâre so much of a help, why arenât you in the cockpit with the captain instead of sitting down and eating dinner with us, huh?â Swansea glared, annoyed with his gloating. That shut Jimmy up quickly as he murmured something about working really hard today.Â
Nightly routines went on as usual, and (Y/N) sat on the couch to read. Before she could open her book, she glanced over at the coffee machine. Given that she hadnât seen much of Curly in the past few days, it was likely he was still in the cockpit, looking over the steering of the ship. She got up, pressed a few buttons to dispense coffee and started making her way out of the lounge. He seemed like the kind of person to like his coffee black.
Opening the door to exit, she almost bumped into Jimmy and withered slightly under the intensity of his gaze.
âI was just looking for you,â he said, voice low and breathy. Something didnât feel quite right to her about this.Â
âOh? What do you need me for?â She asked cautiously as he walked into the room, making her backpedal into the lounge.Â
âI just wanna talk, thatâs all. Can we do that?â He started reaching for her shoulder and she quickly stepped a bit further from his reach. A sinking feeling in her gut told her that talking to him wouldnât end well.Â
âA-Actually Iâm on my way to take this cup of coffee to the captain. He should be expecting me any minute now. Maybe we can talk another time?â She diverted and lied. He grumbled and skulked past her, making his way over to the kitchen as she made her escape. Closing the door behind her and now heading to the cockpit, her heart beat against her ribcage and she felt a rush of relief. Talking to him was always so uncomfortable, but this was the first time that she felt like he was hunting her with his eyes. If she hadnât lied about Curly expecting her, she didnât want to think about what Jimmy wanted to talk to her about.Â
In the cockpit, Curly sat, exhausted and a little frustrated. He had heard enough of his co-pilotâs complaints of having to stay shut in there all day and couldnât blame him for his cabin fever induced by the cramped and overstimulating room, so he sent him to bed, not taking too much effort to assure him that he could take care of the steering for the night. A small knock on the door snapped him out of his fatigue only slightly, and he cautiously put on autopilot to get up and open the door. He opened the door to find (Y/N), the object of his thoughts when he needed some comfort from this hellish leg of their journey.Â
âHey,â she said shyly. âFigured you might still be up and over here. How are you?â He slowly moved his arms around her, engulfing her in a hug and letting out a tired sigh.Â
âWeâre in a bit of a rough patch of our journey, but weâll make it through.â He looked down at the mug of coffee she held in her hands. âIs that for me?â He asked. She nodded, bringing the cup closer for him to take it. Tenderness filled his expression as he took the cup and moved his other hand to place his palm against her cheek. âThank you. Can IâŚâ He trailed off, hesitant as he darted his eyes to her lips, unsure of where things were where they left it a few days ago. She nodded, closing the gap herself, conveying as much care as she could through the kiss. Breaking away, she looked over at the multitude of screens.Â
âSo, what are we up to tonight?â she asked.Â
Curly raised an eyebrow. âWe?âÂ
âUh, yeah. Seems like you decided to throw a slumber party in the cockpit and didnât think to invite me, so Iâm inviting myself,â she stated simply, moving towards the chairs.Â
He looked at her in disbelief, amused by her antics. âOkay, very well then.â He sat down back in his seat before patting his lap. âWant to join me here?â
(Y/N) felt shy with this new level of intimacy with the man she had only gotten to know and catch feelings for within the past few weeks. She was a grown woman with independence to do whatever she liked back on Earth but it had been a while since her last romantic encounter, and this level of vulnerability was uncomfortable to her but not unwelcome.
Lowering herself down into the chair to sit on one of his thighs, her shoulders lay perpendicular to his, resting against his chest as he wrapped an arm around her waist and a hand on her thigh. Concerned, she broke the silence. âAre you sure youâre okay steering like this if Iâm sitting on you?â
âOf course. Most of the steering is done by autopilot anyway. All Iâm doing is making minor adjustments to the course every fifteen to twenty minutes or so.â His hand moved to her knee, rubbing his thumb against the material of her pants.Â
She rested her head on his chest, trying to see if she could hear his heart beating when she yawned. âOh, there it is.â
âHmm?â he looked down at her, amused by how comfortable she had already gotten, and so quickly too. Space had a way of making people feel lonely in a way they never experienced before. After so many years of flying with Pony Express, Curly thought he had gotten used to it, but in that moment when the two of them sought comfort from each other, he realised how wrong his assumption was. With her, things were moving quickly, but in a place as lonely and isolating as space, he thanked his lucky stars for such an easy person to talk to, someone understanding of his ambitions and desires and wouldnât fault him for them like his friends did. It made sense how fast these feelings approached and manifested into what they were now â her, curled up on his lap with her head on his chest, trying her best to force herself to stay awake with struggling success.Â
âCurly?â She looked up at him. He smiled, hearing her drop the title and nodded for her to continue. âThis feels like itâs moving so fast.â
âUs?â he questioned.Â
âYeahâŚâ She trailed off, mentally kicking herself for not knowing what exactly she was trying to say.
Curly moved forward a bit to adjust the position of the ship with manual steering before leaning back in the chair and sucking in a breath. He watched as the ship coordinates blipped forward on the screen, moving frame by frame. âIâve been doing this with Pony Express for nearly a decade now. Every time I leave, every time I return, I always have a routine I never break. Iâll have drinks with Jimmy and a few of our other friends to catch up on what we missed back home at the same dive bar we always go to. Iâll spend some time with my widowed aunt who lives alone and has no children, just to make sure her insurance is up to date and to keep her company as much as I can. The family-owned Chinese restaurant thatâs only a few blocks away from where I live will be waiting for me so that the owner could complain that I got thinner returning from space and encourage me to stuff myself with char kway teow and collard greens while sitting with his younger son, telling him to study hard so he could someday become a captain like me and make a lot of money. I feel like I come back as the same Curly, year after year, and even though my routine stays the same, everything around me changes. Friends get married and have children, my aunt gets older, heck, that little boy from the Chinese restaurant just started high school, I think.âÂ
He stared at (Y/N) with what she read as sadness in his eyes. âThere isnât really such a thing as time out here. I lose track of it so easily. Whenever we return to Earth it feels like everything around me goes by so quickly and I feel like Iâm always missing out, so Iâm glad youâre here,â he said, brushing a few strands of hair out of her face before tucking them behind her ear. âIâm glad that you joined us so that we could get close so quickly. It makes me feel like Iâm back on Earth, going the same pace as everybody else is. Every time we talk, every time I see you, I feel grounded. I feel normal.âÂ
He buried his fingers into her hair as he pulled her in for another kiss, trying to convey all of the want he had for her through the shared contact of their lips. Her hands were splayed across his chest, and she dragged them up to his shoulders, gripping the collar of his coveralls.Â
Breaking away, his hands dropped back down to loop around her waist as he gave her a look that ached with so much longing.Â
She broke his gaze trying to stifle a yawn, making him chuckle. Placing his hand on her head, he brought it down to lay on his chest.Â
âRest, hun. Thereâs no need to torture yourself to stay up with me.â He pressed a kiss to her forehead.Â
âBut youâre going to be up all night trying to make sure things are fine.â She frowned.Â
âItâs okay. A pretty lady came by earlier to bring me a cup of coffee, see?â He raised the mug up to his lips to take a drink and she scoffed.Â
(Y/N) kept her eyes open, not moving from her position on Curlyâs lap, straining her eyes staring at the screens before her eyelids lost the battle of staying open.
ugh. Be still, my heart. I love a good monologue, if you couldn't already tell. I also cannot stop thinking about Curly's thighs. Thank you for all the support so far :D

Mentally I'm here
Joyce, Hopper and Terry's message
I've already talked about the many Kali-Henry parallels, but there are other very interesting things. For example, like other people pointed out, Axel's mask is also at Melvald's (and the girl's mask is a tiger, hm)
Brain damaged. The only close up we get of the tattoo is in 2x01. Mike also mentions brain damage in S3, when he's worried about El. So, 2x01, the first time we see Kali, starts with a police chase, Brain Damaged tattoo and Kali creating an illusion that causes a car accident. What could it mean for El? If you follow my blog, you know my car crash theory. A car accident in the past that involved Hopper, maybe drowning, and then being revived? (Breath! She wasn't breathing)
A bald man even says to El: You're dead! We're all dead! (Ten in 4x01: Ellis and Six. Dead. They're both dead)
The only bald child in the show is Sarah. And she's dead. And the other scene where we see bald people (the prisoners) and kids are mentioned, is when Hopper yells at Dimitri that his son is not his son.
But this also seems connected to Joyce. In this scene we see Kali and El in front of a wrecked green car (there's also a green car in Terry's memory), the words mom and Janice (J, like Joyce), No. (number) and Ace.
Green car, mom J, police, El, car accident and Kali (Number One)
But speaking of Sarah. Dottie wears a clown mask. There are clowns on Sarah's pajamas, and Will was scared of clowns.
In 2x07 we see a flashback of what Kali does before the police chase in 2x01. I think it could be another hint at what happened in the past, maybe even what caused the car chase and the accident. Kali kills a man connected to the lab: one of the articles El reads in 2x05 is about the abduction of a newborn boy from a hospital by a nurse, who is later found dead from a gunshot wound in her house. Name of the journalist: Frank Williams
This extra, a blonde pregnant woman. El's mother? But the number on the bus is 4+2+2= 8 (or ten, if we count the other 2). Not eleven. Eight/Kali makes people see or not see whatever she chooses, so I wonder what is true and what not in Terry's memories.
The song that plays in this scene is Runaway
All your life all you asked is when's your daddy gonna talk to you. But you were living in another world, trying to get your message through
Then shot of the cops. This reminds me of Hopper seeing and hearing Sarah, but telling himself that it was all in his mind.
(end of the episode, when El sees her dad in the void, Mike says almost the same words. He too is trying to get a message through. I need to get through! I need to get through! I need to warn them. It's a trap!)
The cops are drinking coffee. Like coffee and contemplation (and donut). First thing Hopper says, when Flo tells him that Joyce can't find her son. And he has his coffee mug in S2, when he and Murray talk about the girl, the "russian spy".
In 2x05, at Terry's, before El enters the room, this is what they're saying on the TV:
Name a way you occupy your time when you're having a boring day at work. Drink coffee. "Drink coffee" said Mike. ... Yeah! Five answers will beat it, Lynn. [Lynn] Visit with other employees. [host] "Visit with other employees!" Terry: Rainbow.
Mike? Well, maybe not our Mike. I'm thinking about the many Michael Myers references, and Mikhail not being Dimitri's son.
Drinking coffee when you have a boring day at work -> coffee and contemplation. So, the first thing they do is connecting Terry and Hopper. And they do it in S1 too, when Becky says twice, with a smile, that Terry and Hopper would get along. They even have the same octagon table. Eight again...
The name Lynn. Like Vera Lynn? Her song, We'll meet again, plays after the sauna scene in S3, when we see the crowd of Flayed people. A song about Vera Lynn is in Pink Floyd album The Wall (Ross posted the photo of the poster a few weeks ago) which was released in 1979. I could be wrong, but...
Vera Lynn-> 1979, and Terry's first word, after Lynn says "visit with other employees", is rainbow
Could this be a hint that Terry wasn't just a subject of the experiments, but worked with Brenner? (employee) That she was Mama to Brenner's Papa?
Back to the coffee. Not only do they mention it on the TV, but then Terry shows El two coffee mugs, when she changes the channels, after a police chase (Kali calls Hopper policeman) But why would Terry show El police chases and coffee mugs? The other commercials seem about the lab. Terry is not just randomly changing the channels. She's talking. And for some reason, she's including Hopper in her message.
Blonde woman. Not sure if she stands for Terry or Virginia.
The score: 91, 64 -> 9+1, 6+4. Ten and ten. One and One. Or two. Lol, or eleven. I have to make a post about all the other things they show on that TV.
After the blonde woman, Terry shows El donuts. Many identical donuts and Was it worth the trip? Imo, a hint at the lab kids.
Then a Computer Supercenter. The Lab. MkUltra. I think Will's visual aid about Alan Turing hints at that too, not just at his queerness.
Then the police chase and the coffee mugs. But, like I said, if all this is about Terry and El's past, what does Hopper have to do with it?
Unless Terry is connecting El and Sarah. Maybe in S5 we're going to see Sarah's story in the lab, but I doubt it, or maybe Sarah and El were swapped at the hospital (after the car chase?) and that's why there are so many parallels between Hopper, Joyce and Terry?
Joyce and her coffee mug! But the coffee is drugged. Interesting.
Another big clue, imo. Ray was in Vietnam (here) And there's an extra who resembles Hopper in Terry's memory
It's just crazy how connected Joyce, Hopper and Terry are.
#coffee and contemplation#and how it even ties to the birthday mug that we see for the first time subtly behind will in 1x01#and then again in 1x02 with el#w/ hopper waving around his coffee mug in the pilot#terry silently putting in the work to relay messages through the tv is something so devastatingly epic#just trying to get that message through đ#el hopper#kali prasad#terry ives#jim hopper#joyce byers#st parallels#st theory#st analysis#stranger things#willel twins#joyce + hopper = willel twins

So i answered this ask about silly NikPrice headcanons and for one of them i say that Nik collects little trinkets from people. Well i have a list of the trinkets lol i didnt think about sharing it in the ask but i still like this idea so im gonna share it anyway :O
Nikolai is a secret hoarder of little mementos from people he cares about, and his jacket pockets, desk drawers, and even the cockpit of his helicopter are filled with them. Each item has a story, and he wouldnât part with any of them for the world.
Price: A crumpled scrap of paper with handwritten coordinates from one of their first missions together. Price scrawled them hastily when their comms went down, and Nik has kept it ever since. He claims itâs a reminder to âalways be prepared,â but really, itâs because it was the first time Price trusted him with something classified and since then Nik has always been included no matter what.
Soap: A keychain of a tiny plastic haggis that Soap gifted him as a joke. Soap called it âa wee bit of Scotland for your chopper,â and while Nik pretended to scoff, itâs been dangling from his control panel ever since.
Gaz: A dog-eared football trading card that Gaz handed over during a long, boring stakeout. Gaz had found it in his jacket pocket, his nieces and nephews must have left it in there, and thought it might cheer Nik up too. Nik doesnât even like football that much, but the gesture stuck with him. It's now laminated and sitting in his wallet. (along with a few photos of the team)
Ghost: A single, slightly dented bullet that Ghost handed him after a mission where Nikâs flying had saved them all from being overrun. âOne less I had to use,â Ghost had said gruffly, his tone matter-of-fact. Nik knew it wasnât meant to be sentimentalâjust a blunt statement of the truth. But he kept the bullet anyway, tucking it away as a quiet reminder of that moment. To Nik, it wasnât just about saving ammunition; it was about making sure Ghost never had to fire more bullets than absolutely necessary. Because every bullet fired meant Simon was one step closer to not coming back. And if Simon didnât come back, Nik knew thereâd be one less bright smile on Priceâs faceâand that was a cost Nik wasnât willing to let them pay.
Laswell: A coffee mug from Laswell that says Best Pilot in the World in bold letters. She sent it to him as a joke after a mission where he barely avoided crashing into the side of a mountain. It has a small chip on the rim now, but he still uses it religiously.
Farah: A woven bracelet from Farah, made by a child in her village. Nik helped transport supplies during a particularly rough time, and she gave it to him as thanks "I was told to give this to the 'big loud man' as thanks". He keeps it in the pocket of his flight jacket, though he wears it sometimes during long flights. He hopes he never stretches it out
Alex: A small, polished stone Alex picked up in the desert during an op. An unlikely place to find such a stone so it must be special. âFor luck,â Alex had said with a grin. Nik had laughed but tucked it into his pocket, and itâs still there to this day.
Rudy: A wooden charm in the shape of a Vaqueroâs hat that Rudy carved himself. He gave it to Nik after a particularly tense mission, calling it a âthank you for not dropping us out of the sky.â Nik keeps it on a string near the controls of his helicopter next to the frankly horrifying haggis keychain.
Alejandro: A neatly folded piece of cloth embroidered with the Vaquerosâ insignia. Alejandro handed it to Nik as a sign of gratitude after Nik extracted him and Rudy from a particularly sticky situation. Nik uses it to polish his aviators, though heâs careful not to fray it.
Nik knows the team would absolutely take the mickey if they found out how sentimental he gets over these things, so he keeps them tucked away and out of sight. But during long flights or quiet moments, heâll pull one out and run his thumb over it, letting the memories ground him. Itâs his way of holding onto the people he values most, even when theyâre scattered across the world.
