Eu confesso que me encantei por essa fachada e fiz a fotografia, e somente tempos depois fui procurar saber qual era, exatamente, esse templo... essa é a bela sinagoga que existe em Bayswater, Londres - New West End Synagogue - inaugurada em 1879. Não a visitei por dentro, aliás nunca entrei numa Sinagoga. “It’s just a Cafe Nero babe” is what I said, but then you look deeper and wonder why there’s a single cafe sitting alone in a piece of open space with people enjoying there coffees, lunches and newspapers all actually completely oblivious to this areas tragic history. On Palm Sunday 1945 much of this area was decimated by the last air strike on central London of 10 rockets only 1 of which went off killed many people at Bank station and Bethnal Green and 9 people in this very spot of which London’s loneliest cafe stands today.
