touched up/repainted parts of this official plastic Striped Kougra figure ive had lying around- i forgot to take more than a single janky before pic, but the pics of the one on this mercari listing are basically how it looked before. the biggest changes I made were changing the whisker dots from black to grey, enlargening the pupils, and bringing the pink marking on the lifted paw up higher
my one lone before pic, lol
#neopets#I DIDNT SCULPT THIS ONE#just touched up the paint job#of course NOW i notice the light pink i mixed wasnt light enough. Well Whatever

List 5 things that make you happy, then put this in the askbox for the last 10 people who reblogged something from you! Get to know your mutuals and followers♡
tysm for the ask!! I've been kind of bummed out lately so this is an important reminder that I should try to verbalize more of the good stuff that's going on re: being a human person, lol.
one: tea and sweets. I drink a lot of tea but I really love sitting down with a mug or cup with pot and a slice of cake or a scone or whatever. it feels like a special little treat even if it's just a couple digestive biscuits. I also like afternoon tea with savories too but I'm usually too lazy to make a whole spread myself.
two: casual cosplay. also regular cosplay, but I like finding excuses to get dressed up in more subtle ways because it's easier to pull off on the regular lol. I love wearing outfits that have references to stuff or are like functional pieces that look very obviously like a particular character's outfit or aesthetic. it does create closet space problems bc now I have things like a fuzzy princess mononoke vest from her universe that I rarely have reason to wear, but it makes me happy when I do wear it.
three: finally finding a thing you've been looking for for years on ebay/mercari/a thrift store/wherever. I have a lot of active collections and there is something so satisfying about finally!!!!! getting a piece you've been wanting forever but it's hard to find or usually quite expensive. I also love love love doing this for other people, like my brother broke his favorite mug - a long out of production dark blue disney mug with goofy on it - and being able to go online, keep an eye out for it and finally track it down was fantastic. one of my best friends collects nancy drew books and ephemera and I always send her pics of ones I find just in case its an edition she wants or something she's missing.
four: the fact that @heystovepipeboys has her 10 year green card!!!!! this is sort of silly bc she got it last year but the process was sooooo delayed because of covid and the department being understaffed and underfunded, so we were waiting and waiting and waiting and she had to take her passport everywhere and sometimes people wouldn't understand the documents she had proving she's a permanent resident. it still doesn't feel real that we're finally done with that whole process. if anyone ever has questions about the fiance visa process I am happy to give the rundown lol, 90 day fiance is not an accurate view of how simple the process is.
five: cats, I love cats. have never met a cat I don't like. they're all so funny and have such distinct personalities and weird rich inner lives despite their walnut sized brains. we have two cats and they're both weird little beasts and I love them. C:

Wanted to share these pics of some of the things I recently purchased and received, which are this Ikuemi Ryo's artbook ("The Best of Ryo Ikuemi [1990-1994]") and this very old-school pamphlet from the Di Gi Charat Concert in Yokohama Arena (2001) and, uhm... I didn't expect the pamphlet to be THIS big?
The Ikuemi's artbook is pretty nice, ngl. I didn't know this existed until I saw it listed on Yahoo! Auctions and Mercari, which basically covers art pieces that Ikuemi Ryo did during this time period of her career (around 30-smth years ago!). I obviously don't think it covers everything she did in the early 90s... but I appreciate it all together. Now, I wish there were more books like this that cover the late 90s, the 2000s, 2010s... I STILL suppose "Works" (2009) and sorta "Smile" (2019) cover something... Works, especially, since I WOULD UNDERSTAND IT... but Smile feels more like an anthology made by fellow artist friends and contemporaries... and I guess there's also that collaborative art exhibition she was part of some years ago... (it does have an exhibition art book... but it was over my budget, lmao).
Now, the DGC pamphlet... Let's say I was possessed when I bought it (obvs, I wasn't, lol), because I still feel tied to this particular DGC concert (I remember watching clips of this one uploaded in Nico Video a decade or so ago...), featuring a musical number with a certain someone that rarely does this (besides the few Tenifestas he went to).
It's a piece of old-school seiyuu events that double as concerts, I guess. I am not sure if Broccoli was the first that initiated this "seiyuu events + concerts" trend (but surely they were one of those that popularized it, since DUP and PKO were HUGE in the early 2000s), so I was expecting something more in line with WHAT I know these days (ie the Tenifesta pamphlets), maybe much more simpler... but not smth THIS big (how in hell did ppl carry these during the concert??? it's not A4 sized!) and CERTAINLY wasn't expecting it to double... as an artbook of sorts???
I mean... YEAH. Definitely not as the seiyuu event pamphlets I have known for years (which are covered with seiyuu's pics and small interviews or messages given the chance) and it is just a taste of what other official DGC art books (like Cioccola?) may offer (I also have one of the few DGC anthologies brought to the west by Broccoli USA that I bought a few years ago, so...) including some art from that dating sim? game that was released around the time the Yokohama Arena concert happened.
...It also includes a franchise timeline????
Still fascinating and definitely not something I was expecting (but I was previously suspecting from the pics provided by the seller, because of the way the pages looked like from the borders, there were the obvious "these definitely look like the pictures from the cast... these others are... what?")

@tavi-calypso So it's an official bust made by thinkgeek a few years ago. They actually made a lilith one too.
They're kinda rare from what I've seen, though not as rare as the rubber duck. This one, the seller actually didn't mention the that it was the bust anywhere. Just said "handsome jack figure" and a pic of the box, which is I think why I got it so cheap. I had to do some sleuthing just to figure out what it was lol.
Looks like the same seller has one listed on mercari too. I think they're a collectibles reseller and don't really know what they have.
I really like it though. It's pretty high quality actually. They really made so fucking little official jack merch and a lot of it is obscure and forgotten now, so I'm happy to add another piece to my collection. It's been a great addition to my Jack shelf.
Check out what finally arrived in the mail!

Hi, hope you’re well!
I was wondering how you go about getting perfumes secondhand? I’m scared of getting scammed. Thanks in advance!
mercari is by far the best place to get them in my opinion reddit is also pretty great over at r/fragranceswap! but there are a lot of scams esp on mercari so i understand why you would be wary. ill compile you a little list of tips and things i look for when buying a fragrance:
-do NOT trust sellers who basically only sell brand new in box/unused luxury fragrances with very few exceptions
-especially do NOT trust them if theres only 1-2 pics in the listing and they reuse the same pictures for multiple listings. i feel like this is obvious but lol. make sure the pictures look like they were taken by whoever is selling whatever it is
-look for partials! they are a lot more likely to be authentic and prob will be a better price because theres less obviously
-look at sellers profiles to gauge whether or not they may be real…like for example i like if its clearly justa normal person or a hobbyist trying to get rid of something i feel like that makes me trust that theyre selling something real more than someone who exclusively sells nib fragrances yknow..
-avoid buying incredibly popular hyped brands that have a lot of fakes like byredo tom ford mfk parfums de marly etc….unless you follow the tips above and you feel confident enough to gamble with that much money. ignore that all my tom fords and byredo fragrances came from mercari do as i say not as i do lol
ummmmmm yeah thats about it 🙂 hope that helps happy buying

ty so much for answering
actually i was really hoping to get that vip listing info since from what i can see that's not currently available anywhere? even the big neo twewy spreadsheet doesn't include it to my knowledge. np if you don't wanna take pics but even super low quality pics would be helpful to get that info down. i wish i had been smart enough to buy the guidebook at the start. anyway no prob if you don't want to.
what i REALLY wish we had was a guidebook for the og since that has a WAY more intricate system for FSG and shop unlocks
✨︎ I have Japanese guidebooks for both the original and Neo if anyone has questions about them, but I'm pretty sure by now all of the gameplay-related info has been pretty thoroughly documented in online guides already, esp. for the OG. I mostly own the books for the artwork and commentary (and reading practice lmao).
✨︎ The NEO guide on GameFaqs has a table of what you can buy at each store and the stats of each item, including what Day/VIP level it unlocks at. Individual thread pages on the TWEWY wiki also list how to unlock them (the TWEWY wiki actually has more info than the guidebook does lol).
✨︎ You can still purchase the guidebooks if you’re interested in actually owning them yourself. I ordered my copy of the NEO guidebook from suruga-ya through White Rabbit Express, but it’s also in stock directly from the Square-Enix store, and old guidebooks are the sorts of things you can regularly find for cheap(er) on Mercari.
#answered#anon#ooc#I own the Official Guide for both TWEWY & NEO and the -7 Days Survival Manual- for TWEWY#and both artbooks from the collectors' packs#p sure the only one I'm missing is the TWEWY Official Perfect Guide and idk if there's anything in that one that's not in the others already#so I'm cool answering qs or translating stuff from any of them but in most cases I can't post good images without damaging them#or if anybody needs help navigating Japanese sites to get their own merch I don't mind lmao

Thanks a lot for writing this!! If you don't mind, I'll add on with a few others I know about (including some which seem very obvious, but it might be useful to people who joined late :])
So, card games! Ichikawa drew two different sets of cards:
⬆️ I haven't managed to find a lot of info about this one, I only know it predates the second set of cards. According to natalie, it was supposed to be promotional material for vol 3, notably for libraries. I'm not sure how it was distributed, though (I've seen a few people claim they got individual cards when buying a volume).
⬆️ That one though, was actually produced and distributed as a bonus for vol 4. These two cards in particular were not included in the base set. Alloy Phos could be obtained with an issue of Afternoon Magazine (July 2015), and Padparadscha was a prize for a Twitter giveaway of vol 4.
Last but not least, Ichikawa drew two Phos cards as part of collaborations. The left one isf from Lord of Vermillon. The right one... I'm honestly not sure, I've tried looking into it but I can't find any satisfying results :( But you should be able to find them easily enough on mercari/yahoo/rakuma etc - here's an example of listing you can look for.
Moving on with fashion; HnK surprisingly had a few collabs with supergroupies! These included:
Jewerly,
Shoes,
Mineral-themed bags,
Lunarian-themed jewerly,
And gem-themed accessories (Shoes, handbag, purse, phonecase, overalls).
They're not the most affordable and tend to be pretty subtle about their affiliation with HnK, but it's still pretty cool seeing how much merch there was.
With the anime adaptation, there was also a big influx of new merch. ANIMATION ADDICT STORE had the bag you shared, but a few others items such as these 'antistatic wristbands' (their words, not mine) of Phos, Bortz, Dia and Cinnabar...
Or these various products ('bandana', night gown (?), tote bag, pouch, phone case).
We also got some cute chibi charms/pins of the cast, which were made by Exrare, a company that seems to have disappeared sometimes not too long after the anime aired.
These chibis were reused a lot though. Zextworks reused them for smartphone cases and little acrylic standees. (There's also little shikishi boards with the anime renders! Though, the character on it was random. All the pics are in the link.)
There were a few other goodies using these renders, like these acrylic charms by Atelier Magi:
(There's another series with Bortz, Rutile, Morga and Goshe)
Or these standees, which are supposed to be earring holders :
We also got a bunch of other standees by Zextworks, which. lol. lmao. This is where I'll stop listing most products that use anime renders, because a lot of them are pretty lazy in that regard.
In the style of the Exrare charms, there was another set of pretty cute charms (which I was convinced were the same as the others but I guess not? oh well)
And even if they appear in the link you shared, I'll take the opportunity to repost it : Minnanokuji had a few charms on the more original side, and a decently sized Ventricosus plushie which is very important to me 👉👈
Also pretty cool, but there's a few HnK manga shikishi. I know of 3 types (from 2014 ⬅️, 2013 ➡️, 2017⬇️). You could get the first two by buying tomes in libraries during special events, and the last by buying DVDs.
Some sellers also included bonuses with the Anime, like a mirror, a ceramic jewel box, and a pretty cute print.
And of course, this list wouldn't be complete without the famous Goodsmile figures:
And I can't mention these without giving a quick shoutout to the Phos figma, which was announced in 2018 and then never mentioned ever again. RIP lil guy
I ran out of merch to think about, but I'm probably missing some! If you want to be pedantic, the artbooks should probably be included (the ones that came with the manga's special editions, the orange artbook, pseudomorph of love, and probably the anime concept arts, too). But I guess mentioning them should be enough to get people to know of their existence, so 👍
It finally arrived! This a limited edition official clear folder of the 4th volume cover art. Since I own this now, it is very high quality. It feels like its made of plastic silicone(??), the button clasp is metal, and the cover is actually transparent, so you can see the lustrous laying on your documents.
There are several official clear files/folders of houseki no kuni (the manga, not the anime) floating around, yet there is barely any information I can find on them.
Note: photo is badly edited to show the colors more because my entire house has bad lighting, the colors on the folder match the actual colors on the artwork.
#(this is not including unofficial merch (notably garage kit figures which are still really cool))..... could talk a lot about this too#LMAO i didnt want it to be so long but one thing led to another. thank you for getting me to think abt hnk again :]#a lot of these came out before the anime (so before hnk was well known) which is a shame! it feels like they really slowed down on merch -#after that#possibly because ichikawa was producing her own merch in the form of artbooks etc? or maybe as the story got less cute it was harder to#market it? since a lot of merch seems to be very... yeah#no idea but its been super fun researching this so thanks :^)#its made me realize how little hnk merch i own too.... i only have a few artbooks and the 2013 shikishi. i should fix that someday

since ppl have asked over time here's where I got these wands specifically and where I buy magical girl wands in general!
For the Ojamajo Doremi items in this pic I just got lucky on eBay auctions years ago. I don't know what they go for nowadays, but in 2014 the Kururu Pollon was ~$175 and the Maho Tap was $25 (it's the American version).
All of the Go! Princess Precure merch I got from a site called Mandarake, a Japanese thrift store chain that quality check all items they get in. They have an online shop that ships internationally! They usually have a good amount of precure stuff, so if you want better prices for more current seasons they're def a great place to start looking! Pay attention to what store locations you buy from on their site, as they do not combine shipping for orders that have items split between multiple store locations. (ex. if you buy 3 items from their SAHRA warehouse and 2 items from their Shibuya store, you cannot have those 5 total items combined into one package, you have to pay shipping for two separate boxes.)
more info abt buying wands under the cut! ♡
Nowadays I mostly try to find deals on magical girl items through Japanese secondhand sites. I use a proxy service called dejapan since a lot of secondhand places do not ship internationally.
I mainly check Yahoo! Japan Auctions, as you can find some absolute steals there sometimes if you have the patience. In 2019 I won an auction for a new in box Parara Tap for ~$60, so it's still possible to find good deals!
I also check Japanese Mercari, and sometimes Rakuten (I found some great deals on HappinessCharge Precure precards there).
For western secondhand sites, eBay and Mercari are still places worth checking. Deals there are harder to find, but you just have to have patience! An eBay seller I follow who lists magical girl items frequently is kawaiiotakujp. Mandarake also has an eBay seller page!
Also, a weird but surprisingly good way to find listings for things you might want is through Google Images, of all places. If you look up an item you want, the images of that item tied to listings should pop up through the search. A lot of those listings can be old/unavailable though, so it might take some effort to find one currently on sale. I have gotten some great finds that way though!
For Japanese secondhand sites, you can search in English somewhat, but you should really search in Japanese to get the best results. here's some search terms to start with in case you don't know what to type:
おジャ魔女どれみ - ojamajo doremi
プリキュア - purikyua (pretty cure)
ポロン - poron/pollon (for doremi items)
タップ - tap (for doremi items)
ぬいぐるみ - nuigurumi (plushies)
うちわ - uchiwa (for character hand fans, this was kind of annoying to find out lol)
おもちゃ - toy (for site categories)
google translate is your friend! You can also enable Windows IME on your computer so you can type in Japanese on your own! I hope everyone can find good deals out there. Happy shopping~! ♡
I now have my two favorite magical girl wands… I’m a blessed weeb™ lol 🙏
