Final Offer - Lauren Asher
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Honestly I knew this was going to be a fave and yes🥺. The final book of the Dreamland Billionaires follows Callahan and Alana. The character growth? I would have liked to maaaybe have had a little more on Lana's side but ugh this was good. Kids playing matchmaker and having more insight than the adults is always hilarious and Cami is a b e a n. Lemme tell you.
Cal?👀 Sir, listen, ok, please dare me? I accept the challenge?👀 - His storyline was so good. My favourite of all the brothers for sure. The way he grew through his challenges, was there for lil Cami and Lana, worked on his issues and stuff, very well done.
The spice?👀 If you like them where the girl pushes back a bit, this is deff going to be a recommendation for you out of all three. Lana has attitude and I am here for it!
I binged this in basically 1.5days? It's a super easy read and I flew through it!

Highly Suspicious and Unfairly Cute | Book Review
Author: Talia Hibbert
Genre: YA Romance, YA Contemporary.
Publisher: Piatkus
Release Date: 03/01/2023
Rating: 4.25/5 🌟🌟🌟🌟💫
Synopsis:
Bradley Graeme is pretty much perfect. He's a star football player, manages his OCD well (enough), and comes out on top in all his classes . . . except the ones he shares with his ex-best friend, Celine. Celine Bangura is conspiracy-theory-obsessed. Social media followers eat up her takes on everything from UFOs to holiday overconsumption--yet, she's still not cool enough for the popular kids' table. Which is why Brad abandoned her for the in-crowd years ago. (At least, that's how Celine sees it.) These days, there's nothing between them other than petty insults and academic rivalry. So when Celine signs up for a survival course in the woods, she's surprised to find Brad right beside her. Forced to work as a team for the chance to win a grand prize, these two teens must trudge through not just mud and dirt but their messy past. And as this adventure brings them closer together, they begin to remember the good bits of their history. But has too much time passed . . . or just enough to spark a whole new kind of relationship?
Review:

“King of Pride”, by Ana Huang
On April 27th “King of Pride”, the second book of the “Kings of Sin” series by Ana Huang, was released in America and on KU in many more countries around the World. The paperback edition for Europe will be published by Piatkus on May 25th. When I managed to download it onto my kindle, I told Ana Huang that it would probably take me less than a day to read it, from experience with her previous works. But boy was I mistaken and in a good way. I read the book in three days but there is a reason for that. “King of Wrath” is the long awaited story of Kai Young and Isabella Valencia and it si probably my new favorite book of all of Ana Huang’s production so far, and the reason is very simple; just like Josh and Jules from “Twisted Hate”, Isa and Kai are the most relatable characters of all the books in Ana’s bibliography. Without going into detail because I want you to go blind into this book so I won’t reveal anything about the plot save for the fact that Kai is ridiculously rich and a member of the Valhalla club (the connector between all of the “Kings of Sin” series) and Isa is a bartender in that club, the two of them are very down to earth. Both of them are hardworking, they are nerdy, they have insecurities or pride, especially Kai. And they stand out because they are honest, which is refreshing to find out about Kai, compared to Alex or Christian, Kai is a good man, he’s kind, encouraging, faithful and supportive.
As per usual, the story is told in the first person following two points of view; Isabella’s and Kai. Isabella is incredibly nice and caring. She undervalues herself like she doesn’t do to other people. She’s proud of her friends’ achievements and also she’s proud of Kai, and he is proud of her in return. He know that despite tose insecurities she’s strong and capable, and he’s determined to show her what she’s really made of. Kai was my favorite character in the book, he’s so nice, so elegant in everything he does, he isn’t grumpy or vindictive, he doesn’t hold grudges and he’s vulnerable too although he hides that vulnerability behind a mask of pride that is completely fabricated in self defense. This book is different to all of the other books in that there is light in it. Ana Huang usually writes dark romance, but I don’t consider this book to belong in that category. This one is romantic, full of sweet scenes and also spicy scenes, but not as many as you would find in any of the other books. Ana herself said that this hero wasn’t like any other she has written before and, in my opinion, that made the book completely different, unique, swoons and a six out of five stars. Now let me tell you that it took me three days to read it because I wanted to enjoy every page of the book, slowly, I fell in love with Kai and Isabella. Now I know that Ana Huang can do anything and do it well.

Dark Demon by Christine Feehan
Title: Dark Demon Author: Christine Feehan Series: Dark Series #16 Number of Pages: 500 Genre: Romantic Fantasy Publisher: Piatkus Date of Original Publication: February 28, 2006 ISBN: 978-0749936686
Well, March hit and I had a lot of time on my hands, so I’m attempting to finish some older series, while I’m at it. Book 16 of Christine Feehan’s Dark Series is titled [Dark Demon]. It’s worth a read as long as you are reading the series in order.
I like Feehan’s writing style, it is descriptive and she takes time with her action scenes. Her Dark series is based in the common world, and the main characters are not typical vampires but more shifters that drink blood. She has added in several of other mythical species into the series so far. She incorporates strong family values into her novels and keeps characters recurring.
The only thing that bothers me is that the male characters are always similar and aren’t rounded with unique personalities. Sometimes I get them confused as I have been reading other books while progressing this series. It’s very long with a lot of characters to remember.
★★★★ I would recommend this one as long as you start the series from the beginning and in order.

The Lost Daughter of Venice by Charlotte Betts
Come to Venice. Please, Phoebe, do not fail me.
Venice, 1919
Seventeen years ago, the grand Venetian Palazzo degli Angeli was Phoebe Wyndham's home; now, the neglected walls of the palazzo are just a haunting reminder of all she has lost.
Arriving back in Italy after a plea from her estranged relative, the Contessa di Sebastiano, the recently widowed Phoebe is shocked to discover her aunt is dead and the palazzo now belongs to her.
All she wants to do is sell the property and return home. However, when a dark family secret is exposed, the shocking deception rocks Phoebe to her very core, and she vows not to leave the City of Water without first unravelling the truth from the lies.
As Phoebe searches for answers, she finds herself growing closer to two very different men. But, when her camera catches something more sinister than the faded grandeur of Venice, Phoebe begins to question who she can really trust and whether her aunt's death was truly an accident after all . . .
Book page: https://www.hachette.co.uk/titles/charlotte-betts/the-lost-daughter-of-venice/9780349432717/
My Review:
A good historical fiction set in Venice after the WWI, a compelling story that mixes family saga, secrets, miscommunications, old and new loves, and a lot of surprises
I was hooked since the first pages and I liked Phoebe, the girl who went away, and the atmospheric description of Venice.
There’s a story and there’s the big history in a moment when everything is changing and nothing what used to be.
Phoebe discovers her long estranged aunts left her Venice palace to her.
It’s a beginning of a story that goes back in time and makes us know what Phoebe’s she was past and how became a famous photographer. The eye of the photo machine is a way to discover things and It will play a relevant role in the story.
The characters are fleshed out and lively, I felt for Phoebe and found the other characters interesting.
The historical background is well researched even if there’s some details that made me wonder as I think it could have been very hard even if not impossible, the religion choice at the beginning for instance
That said I thoroughly enjoyed this story, and I will read other by this author as I always liked her story
It’s strongly recommended if you want to read a well plotted and intriguing historical fiction.
Many thanks to Piatkus for this ARC, all opinions are mine

The Harrowing
A perfect Halloween read! Young Adult meets Horror, this one had exactly the right feel of creep factor to it all the way through. Not over doing it, but just enough of an unnerving feeling that stayed true through the whole story.
I love the characters, each of them feel very real, the 5 outcasts being brought together at a random Thanksgiving. Something that keeps them together throughout.
The writing is so good, it flows really well and you can tell that the author , Alexandra Solokoff, has been a scriptwriter in the past, it's almost like a movie when you read it.
Okay so November 1st, we return to Doctor Who - we've got 3 books left - Next up is Apollo 23 by Justin Richards, featuring the Eleventh Doctor and Amy Pond.
