It opened on July 30, 1980, a mere 5 months after the first Showbiz Pizza Place. A cast of animatronic characters made by Advanced Animations also debuted there, featuring Bert Newthound (Emcee), Melton Pom and her joey (Piano), Hector (Fiddle), the Koala Sisters (vocals), Ringo Dingo ( "The Outback Australian"), and Ned Kelly (Irish Outlaw).

Despite it's obscurity, many people seem to remember it when you tell them about the kangaroo playing "Crocodile Rock" or the bear playing "The Devil Went Down To Georgia". It's nice to see people realize it wasn't just some dream they had and recall the memories of this place.

Pizza Showtime closed it's doors sometime in 1984. The bots were said to be sent to Sydney and dismantled. The Grand Theatre building was demolished in the 90s. All that remains are the fuzzy memories of those who watched with wide eyes as animal heads popped out of the walls to sing as the band played.
