mcl characters and uni courses or careers that i think they fit in
finals are kicking my ass sorry about dissapearing yall,,, but since i've spent sm time in campus these past few weeks this seemed fitting
i'll be back by the end of january, if i survive exams xx
kentin: vet studies or physiotherapy (iwaizumi hajime, 27)
nathaniel: i'm between med school at the beggining of the game but also a double degree in criminology and psychology for his detective-novella-loving side
castiel: starts off in some kind of sound engineering course but wouldn't mind music theory or smth along those lines (he'd eventually drop out to create a band anyway)
armin: game tech design, cs, some kind of cs engineering idk i'm not into techy stuff (sorry ;;) maybe cybersecurity stuff
alexy: he enjoys music and fashion but i see him going into a career in psychology or maybe even as a social worker working on cases of children and adoption
lysander: lowkey ornithology LMAO all jokes,,, he's the type to go into latin studies with ancient history and a sprinkle of literature studies all together and then become an author in the future (maybe acts as a ghost writer for castiel and other groups as a side thing)
kim: is it insane to say some masters in primary education or pedagogy?? i feel that she kinda becomes more serious about studies by the end of the game and she realises that all she needed was a better school system to believe in her
in anyway she opens up a gym and creates a special area all for classes with children where they can 'blow off steam'
violette: gets a full ride scholarship to many distinguished fine arts courses but it ends up being her making her teachers realise that they are learning more from her than anything else - also opens up a 'common space' for artists of all ages and backgrounds to have access to all sorts of art materials as a non profit project but makes a living out of commissions, expo's and teaching at her local community college
iris: i see her going into the tourism sector?? like - gets a quick professional formative course in hospitality, tourism and administration and leaves as soon as she can to travel around the world and adopt the odd job wherever she lands, she was never good at studies but she's known for being a very trustworthy tourist guide and vacation planner because she knows so damn much about all the places that she's worked in
melody: something in biological sciences is what i envision (idc if she works with zaidi in UL this game is MY CANON now)
priya: no doubt law studies she was made for it
peggy: again, obvious choice. journalism and something in social media maybe
rosa: helps out leigh with his shop for a short while but opens up her own fashion store and works as a fashion consultant for various clients
li: something business-econ related, idk
charlotte: also a business girlie but maybe with some studies in finance
amber: modelling gigs, slight nepotism because of her mother's influence

I've been walking around with this hypermobility diagnosis my entire life, and no medical professional ever told me definitively what it means. My parents can't remember specifically when I was diagnosed or who by – I was a severely premature baby with a rare disorder and a slew of other health issues, and the hypermobility got lost somewhere in there with all the other medical noise. Mostly, I was left to see hypermobility as something that made me super bendy and was fun to pull out at parties when I made all my fingers bend weirdly.
Everything I have been told about hypermobility came to me piecemeal, usually by happenstance. A nurse who said that the hypermobility explained why it was always difficult to draw my blood. A GP who mentioned that hypermobility was likely why my ankle hadn't broken, but had instead subluxated and then been left to heal incorrectly because it'd been misdiagnosed as a sprain. A rheumatologist who I was only seeing because of a colossal fuckup, who explained that hypermobility makes you far more prone to bruising. Everything else, I had to find out under my own steam, trawling websites repeatedly over the years and watching as the body of information grew.
When I went to my paediatrician with joint pain, she told me it was growing pains on multiple occasions. I've been to physiotherapy three times and multiple OTs when I was younger and none of them noticed that my knees' resting position was hyperextended. (It took 22 years and the aforementioned colossal fuckup that landed me back at rheumatology instead of seeing the chronic pain specialist nurse for someone to tell me that that wasn't normal.) PE teachers and gymnastics instructors made me feel lazy and inadequate and work-shy instead of thinking hey, this child has told us he's hypermobile, maybe we should pay attention to that. For a little while I got to use a portable slanted desk in middle school which was meant to make writing easier for me in lessons (it didn't). In high school I got to use an AlphaSmart – not because anyone listened when I explained that writing caused me serious hand pain, but because I was writing too slowly to keep up in lessons (and I was still told repeatedly by teachers that they were surprised I needed the AlphaSmart because my handwriting was so neat, as if that had anything to do with anything). It wasn't until my GCSEs that I first got serious accommodations in exams.
Did all those doctors I saw about my pain just think I was, I don't know, too young to be sick? I was born sick. It was there in my records! They knew, and they either decided I was some other speciality's problem or they straight up did not care.
Children can be ill and disabled. More than that, they deserve to be given all the information they might need and be offered necessary accommodations. They should be listened to! Parents shouldn't have to fight and claw for something as simple as a crappy plastic slanted desk. If I could trawl my brain to extract everything I'm feeling right now and inject it into the minds of every doctor who failed me, I would.

Day 792
Tangentially, I always knew my mother hated the first school I ever attended as a child. Hated to the point where she began to misremember what they did and did not do for me. She would claim forever and day that they never advocated for speech therapy for me.. And… It is very possible. I was once a client of the very centre I now work for. For all I know the therapy I received while in school was due to the advocating of my therapists and social worker, not because the school decided I needed it.
However, despite what my mother may remember, I did get speech therapy in my first school, along with physiotherapy to strengthen a club foot that had been corrected when I was in kindergarten. The only reason why I remember this, is because I have a fuzzy but distinct memory of the special ed teacher who ran me through my speech exercises encouraging me to keep the bible the school wanted me to return.
Due to the fact that the school had ‘given’ me that bible as part of my first communion, and then insisted that all the students give their bibles to the school. Don’t ask me why, I have no answers.
My mom’s anger though is not without merit. I was a child born in the 80s and grew up in the 90s. Inclusion Canada notes in their pamphlet on The Delivery on Education Services that the bill (Bill 82) that ensured publicly funded education for all students regardless of disability was signed in 1980.
I was born in 1984, and would attend school in 1990, only a decade after this bill was signed.
So one can imagine the bias and misconceptions that my mom had to face, especially because I was a high needs child. While my family has always had the adage of, “Your body may not work but your brain does,” (undiagnosed ADHD aside), the thing is, for children with high physical needs the ages between birth and five years of age, you’re pretty much always in and out of hospital. As a result, unlike being an adult, where my disability is now hidden, it was very obvious as a child.
Aware of this, I knew tangentially that my first school had issues. What I had not known until recently was that my mom chose that school, or more specifically the Catholic School Board, because they were the first school board to purposely integrate disabled students into mainstream classrooms. There was probably a lot of bitterness in that admission to me. I can only imagine the hopes she had choosing that school board only to have it dashed by a terrible principal and possibly equally terrible teachers.
I’m not unaware that my first principal once told my mom to not have any expectations of me.
What I wasn’t aware of was that my second principal from middle school was apparently my biggest advocate. Not only did he advocate for me while I was at his school, but he advocated for me when I was in high school. Which made me feel bad because I’m not even sure what his last name is anymore.
Especially considering I didn’t attend middle school that much. Puberty had hit my body so hard as a teen that I was in and out of hospital many times until I was 18. It was so bad that sitting was distinctly uncomfortable (and has given rise to the weird way I sit now), and I couldn’t walk far, and it was probably less walking and more waddling. So doing something as simple as walking to the school bus stop was not happening.
Nevermind the fact my energy levels were shit back then.
It turned out this man had advocated for specialized funding so I could be picked up from my home to go to school. A principal who was no longer my principal advocated for my ability to keep my agency and be picked up like every other student.
My mom telling me this blew my mind, not just due to the kindness of a principal going above and beyond, but also it put into perspective the last time I saw him. Unfortunately he passed away several years ago, but a few months before I left for university I had run into him. When I last saw him he was very pleased at my choice in university, not because it was prestigious, but because it had a very robust accessible learning department. He spoke positively on the size of the campus and the staff at that department.
Even back then, he was thinking of my well being.
In the face of that, I’m not surprised my mom doesn’t remember anything good about my first school. How can one school with a principal who tells a mother not to have great expectations compare to another school whose principal did everything even when that student stopped being theirs?

advice on using mobility aids – such as crutches or a walking stick to help you move around
Your physiotherapist may also recommend exercises that you can continue doing to help you manage pain in the long term or reduce your risk of injuring yourself again.

How can #Autism be cured and what is its cause?
Welcome to the Academy of Autism & Child Physiotherapy in #Ranchi! 🌈 Our mission is to empower children with autism and developmental difficulties.
Autism, also called autism spectrum disorder -ASD, is a condition that includes problems with communication and behavior. It can involve a wide range of symptoms and skills. ASD can be a minor problem or a disability that needs full-time care in a special facility.
People with autism have trouble understanding what other people think and feel. But from our experience, it’s not 100% true for all the kids. Some of them can actually feel empathy, it’s just that their way of expressing it is a bit different than what we normally see.
At Lalan Autism, we advocate for acceptance, understanding, and support for individuals with autism. Let's continue to promote awareness and embrace the diversity within our community.

The actress, singer, and X Factor contestant Kerry McGregor was born on October 30th 1974.
Kerry had an extraordinary life of triumph over tragedy with so many people describing her attitude as an inspiration to us all. Kerry’s first set back was the loss of her father George, who died in a road traffic accident when she was just 5 years old. Kerry was raised by adoring and single mum Margaret.
She was a budding gymnast, identified to compete at national level but when aged 13, Kerry suffered a broken back, when she fell from a tree, resulting in incomplete paralysis from the waist down. Kerry attended West Calder High School and at that time, the authorities told her, she would need to attend a special school.
Through sheer determination, proving the experts wrong, Kerry defied the odds and crammed all the physiotherapy of 2 years into just 6 weeks. Kerry developed her upper body strength and by using leg braces and crutches alone, Kerry showed she could make her way around the school and was permitted to remain in mainstream schooling. The following year, Kerry won the UK Child Achievement Award and described it as her “proudest moment”.
Kerry continued on crutches for as long as she could and developed her passion for the Arts. Furthering her education and dream of becoming a recording artist, she attended Jewel and Esk Valley College, in Edinburgh and learned her trade. From 1993, Kerry formed various bands and recorded albums which were minor hits. She was talent-spotted by Kenny MacDonald (manager of The Proclaimers) and in 1997, recorded an entry to the Eurovision Song Contest that was runner up in the UK competition. Kerry had also found fame as an actress, in both theatre and on screen, appearing in BBC1’s Grange Hill and Channel 4’s The Book Group. Kerry’s desire to lead a normal life while getting results continued, exposing the stereotypes associated with disability.
It was as a contestant in The X Factor TV show where Kerry was to capture the hearts of millions. Mentored by Sharon Osbourne Kerry reached the final 10, featuring weekly on the live shows in the memorable year Leona Lewis won the show. After the show, Kerry continued to perform sell out shows and managed to juggle being a singer-songwriter and mum to Joshua and loving partner to Dean Robertson. Kerry used her popularity and celebrity status at every opportunity to drive media attention for those affected by disability, giving hope and inspiration to millions. She worked with several charities representing women, children and the disabled including; Spinal Injuries Association, Voluntary Sector Gateway, Leonard Cheshire Disability, CLIC Sargent and many others.
Kerry’s achievements and attitude made her the perfect role model and obvious candidate for many events associated with various disabilities. However, in September 2010, after a long period of feeling unwell, Kerry was diagnosed with bladder cancer. She underwent extensive treatment but continued to support and raise awareness for a number of charities and also develop her own projects. She was appointed Ambassador to the UK’s first charity dedicated to fighting bladder cancer, Action for Bladder Cancer (ABC). Despite losing her trademark long blonde hair and the treatment almost leaving her deaf, she also continued writing and recording.
Kerry had been supported to perform at the opening ceremony for 2012 London Paralympics Games and was also set to record a charity duet with superstar and fellow West Lothian lass, Susan Boyle, who had paid tribute to Kerry in her book as her inspiration to go on the hit TV show Britain’s Got Talent but sadly Kerry’s health quickly deteriorated and on 4th January 2012, she passed away at her home aged just 37.
Kerry’s funeral took place on Tuesday 10th January, near to her home in West Lothian. Police closed off roads as hundreds of friends and fans attended to pay their respects to a truly inspirational but humble lady, who was loved by so many

Hello, I'm from Gaza, my little daughter Nour has hydrocephalus and seizures, we are now in a tent in very bad conditions, and every thing destroyed our house, hospitals and physiotherapy centers 😔 I'm waiting your reply hope you will support Nour as she's a palestinian child needs your urgent help because the seizures attacks have increased, and hospitals don't receive her because of the huge number of injuries and martyrs. She must see a neurosurgeon soon to adjust the doses of the antiseizure medications. Also she needs CT scan and MRI to ensure that the shunt is working well. She also needs to continue Physiotherapy ASAP and Occupational therapy sessions to enable her to stand and take her first steps. Please support my campaign because Nour needs special care out of Gaza war, GOAL $1350
I'm not currently in a position to donate, but I'm sharing this in hopes that other people might be! My thoughts are with you xx
Edit: THIS IS A SCAM, I didn't know that. But PLEASE do NOT donate and instead give to reputable charities like the Palestinian Children's Relief Fund

so two weeks ago my kneecap spontaneously dislocated. no one really knows whats up with that. i get raised eyebrows and “but what did you do”s every time someone sees my splinted leg and asks what happened. so the orthopedist says this stays on for six weeks. then, you can do physiotherapy and we’ll hope this never happens again.
ok, great. so the good news is i CAN put weight on it. the doctor in the hospital gives me a pair of crutches, smiles at me like it’s not 6am and i haven’t been sitting in the er all night, says Just In Case. that’s great too.
the bad news?
i live on the third floor of a building with no elevator.
the building i work in has three floors and one elevator on the opposite side from where we’re located, which can only be accessed with a special key anyway. oh, and there’s construction going on this summer - so actually, the elevator isn’t even going to be accessible. plus, it doesn’t go to the third floor anyway, which is where my classroom is, at the end of the hallway.
that’s fine, though. i take public transit to and from work every day. at least the metro stations have elevators, right? well…14 out of about 70 stations in the city have them. i’m lucky that my local one does - the station i transfer at for work doesn’t have one to the platform i have to transfer to. the one i leave work from has three flights of stairs from the platform to the terminal.
so, keeping in mind i have to go up and down the stairs at work by the whims of my children and supervisors, and the staff room where i have to eat my lunch is on a different floor than my classroom, i’m averaging 20+ flights of stairs every single day. and cannot bend one of my knees, which is at the end of each day about as swollen as it was the day i dislocated it. my doctor prescribed me a month’s worth of naproxen, which my pharmacist was shocked by. she said, usually you only need this for a week. until the swelling goes down.
but the swelling is managed with some ice here and there anyway. so i’ll live. what really hurts is when i’m on the bus - because my commute to work involves two busses and two trains each way - and people trip over my leg because they just aren’t paying attention. i am at the mercy of kind strangers who notice and stand protectively over my leg, when i am lucky enough that upon boarding a bustling bus someone even gives me their seat. otherwise, i’m forced to stand on one leg to avoid putting too much force on my injured one each time we hit a bump.
(three times since my injury i have been the only person to offer my seat to another person with limited mobility on the bus, which every time the person in question has denied while everyone else’s eyes remain down and mouths remain shut.)
and lets not forget - i live in a city where everything is built atop huge fucking hills. at the top of one is the hospital. just below that, my university’s campus and student clinic.
am i just complaining for the sake of complaining? a little bit. but mostly i am thinking about how the inaccessibility around me is actively making it more difficult for me to heal from what is, spontaneity aside, a fairly common injury. i can’t quit my job. i need to attend my appointments. were it not june, i’d have to go to class. i am incredibly lucky to have friends who are willing to help with groceries and laundry, which would be particularly difficult for me due to the number of stairs i’d have to climb with my hands full, but if i didn’t - those are not things i could stop doing for myself and expect to survive for six weeks either, especially when i’m working 40 hours a week with 2+ hours of commuting a day.
anyway. maybe there’s not a lot the average person can do to help people with limited mobility. but giving up your seat on the bus is a pretty good first step and always has been.
