Here is the area I’ve been preparing for this year’s art project. It is slowly but surely becoming a courtyard that will feature a site specific installation inspired by the increase in traffic on this road. My art project is in collaboration with a local hardscaper and area landscaper.

Me and the caterpillars continue to work on our projects out in the garden of sustenance. While I sand carCobbles for my Dover Traffic Spiral, a land art installation, inspired by traffic, the giant swallowtail caterpillars munch away on the gas plants... how ironic!

The hearty herbal sisters, chamomile and red clover, appear as volunteers every year. I find them growing together in the driveway, next to the garden beds, and along path edges. I dry the flower heads and use chamomile for tea and red clover for infusion.

Hey looky here little swallowtail instar! Did you just hatch in the bouquet I picked for Andy last week? I hear you need to need to eat a lot to become a caterpillar so off we go ... back to the fennel patch .
