I just finished up working on my gifts for the delightful @bnuuywol in the FFXIV Swap Discord, and I figured I should post my work here too for folks who follow me here and aren't already in that group! So here it is, in 3 (technically 4) parts:

Part 1 is a fic I wrote that's a collection of short scenes from across the events of the MSQ, told from Phoenyx's (his WoL) perspective. Here's the AO3 summary:

"Sometimes a good drink is exactly what you need.

A few vignettes from the life of Phoenyx Eldritch, Black Knight and Warrior of Light."

Part 2 (2 and 3 really) is two character playlists that I made that have been fueling my imagination as I wrote, and some write-ups highlighting my favorite lyrics and what my thoughts were when picking each song.

The first one is more rock-oriented, and roughly outlines Phoenyx's origin story and his journey through MSQ till around Stormblood or so.

Part 3 (really 4) is a cocktail recipe inspired by Phoenyx himself! I enjoying creating and mixing drinks in my free time, and I thought that it might be a fun challenge to drinkify some friends' WoLs, so I decided to do one for Phoenyx as well, as a gift. The primary flavors are raspberry and chocolate, and I wanted the drink to be red as a nod to the prominent red highlights in Phoenyx's hair. Here's the lil' recipe card I whipped up for it:

update:

i found out the identity of the offleash dog who killed my beloved duck, splitzø, and that dog's owner. that dog is dead, which? 🦀🦀🦀🦀

i wanted to lay all the updates out here bc no one knows me IRL!

the dog's owner is an absolutely massive piece of shit, too. absolutely evil woman. that same dog has a history of issues with violence/aggression, and has also killed a flock of 8 chickens before.

the dog actually died giving birth to a litter of puppies. bc ofc she wasn't spayed, and the owner was NOT a breeder or professional of any kind. not even qualified to have a dog, period.

she worked for my neighbor, who she also withheld the incident from. she's since been fired, and he was delighted to get rid of her. she's caused him a LOT of problems.

my neighbor was absolutely distraught to hear about splitzø being killed, and even offered a duck from his own flock (politely declined). he really wants to meet me and offer his condolences in person. he understands disability and autism, too!! and he's trans-supportive!! he genuinely seems like a wonderful, compassionate man, and he understands how hard the loss has been.

i'm just so glad to have a fraction of closure and for the warmth and care we've been shown.

i'm just so glad that dog is dead, and can never hurt anyone ever again. afaik her puppies are fine, too.
