A blog that people might not know about, but that I want to recommend. Hmmm hard to choose. But someone who I have been mutuals with for a very long time - and who I definitely recommend - is @confusedau-ra.

As well as the adventures of Clara Lara (the titular confused Au Ra herself), this blog also posts many inspiring aesthetic pictures, reblogged FFXIV art and does a great job of celebrating the screenshots and gposes of others. A blog that I think might fly under the radar for a lot of people, but a real joy to follow and one of my favourite mutuals!

2. A blog who I wish posted more often - at least on Tumblr, as I think they are more active on the site formerly known as Twitter - would definitely be @phoebe-of-ivalice.

An incredibly talented writer and gposer, I am always very excited to see a new post from them. And despite being such an accomplished creator, they have always been very kind and friendly in every interaction I've ever had with them. Whilst I can fully understand that it's hard to spread yourself over multiple platforms, I can only hope those Twitter-types appreciate how lucky they are to have @phoebe-of-ivalice so active on their site!

I don't really exist in fandoms very much, but I'll list my top ten franchises and my favorites there.

FFXIV - Lyse. I adore her character so much in Stormblood, I just wish we had more time with her. She would've been really neat to take through Shadowbringers, with her cheerful personality.

RWBY - Ruby. I wanna cheat and say all of team RWBY, but I won't. Ruby's journey through V9 really jumped her past Weiss as my favorite from the show. Also... Gun-scythe?!?!? Hello?!?!

Baldur's Gate 3 - Karlach. I may have romanced Shadowheart my first run, but Karlach has my heart forever. She is just... so good!

Nier - 2B. She's neat and a much more enjoyable protaganist than the dumb little boy of 9S. (Most of my dislike of 9S is his gameplay and his ideas in the final act) A2 is a close second tho.

Genshin Impact - Eula. She's got such a cute quirky little personality, and her fighting style looks like a dance with that greatsword.

Magic: The Gathering - Nissa. I've adored Nissa and Chandra since I started magic, but Nissa's story is a little more special to me. She's also the only planeswalker card I kept when I sold my collection.

Honkai Star Rail - Kafka. She's the main driving force in the game it seems really. And that voice!!!!! Gives me the good kind of chills.

FFIV - Rydia. I would die for any of the cast of IV, but I have the softest spot for Rydia.

Hades (Supergiant Games) - Zagreus. Dude's just living his best life, running away from home. He's bisexual, poly and all around great guy. What's not to love?

Arcane - Caitlynn. Yes, I know this is just league of legends, but I don't play the game and I enjoy the show!

Last song: "Liquid Diamonds" by Tori Amos. There's a sultry vibe to this song that I needed for a recent gpose, but the song itself is not sultry at all. The power of tone!

Currently reading: Bridgerton Book 1. I love the Netflix series, and a friend loaned me the first two books. It has been taking me forever to read through them, though--gposing keeps me away.

Currently watching: The latest season of Alone on Netflix. Many of my characters, such as Leif, are the survivalist type, so I love watching shows like this one to gain footnotes on that type of lifestyle and way of thinking. Anything for more immersive writing!

Current obsession: FFXIV, specifically Leif, despite the trials and tribulations of being in the fandom.

WOL Inspo Chart

Lexa kom Trikru (The 100): Lexa's entire aesthetic and introduction was what made me get hyped about the show seeing as how she wasn't in the books. She was always interesting to me for how she commanded the respect of her people and was a visionary. She did what she needed to do even if people ended up hating her in the end. It was a trait I knew that Iza needed to have.

Eris, Goddess of Discord (Sinbad): Eris by far was one of my favorite villains and in the beginning even with Iza being hailed the Warrior of Light, she was indeed a villain. Eris is the true, pure representation of malevolence and deviance which after losing her entire family, that's who Iza became. In order to beat the Garleans she had to be just as ruthless, manipulative and intelligent as they were. They bought chaos into her life and she would return the favor BUT despite that she remained a woman of her word.

Evelyn O'Connell (formally Carnahan) (The Mummy): Evie's love of history, knowledge and adventure in general is another one of the bases of who Iza is at her core. She adapts that philosophy of "if she could touch something and see it, then it was real".

Avatar Kyoshi (Avatar the Last Airbender): Everyone knows Kyoshi as the "take no shit" Avatar and this is extremely true but she is also a person who was empathic, considerate, trusting and level-headed. She also suffered from low self-esteem and doubted her abilities to be a good avatar. To loved ones, she showed those soft traits. To the world, she is the direct, fierce and assertive woman we know and has always been an idol of mine. It would have been easy to pack on only good traits to the making of Iza but I wanted her to have hidden gems as well that only the most determined of people would find.

Naruto Uzumaki (Naruto): The entire story of Naruto from beginning to end is emotional and so inspiring. To be doubted and feared to loved and respected is something he earned through years of having one goal and dream. In many ways, Naruto and Iza are truly one and the same in that respect except the talking. Iza would much rather just beat someone's ass.

Lynn Wiles (Pulse): Lynn's personality of seeing life for what it is and having the ability to connect with everyone she meets while while being incredibly cheesy is who Iza was and who I hope to make her once again. It's one of the many things that has to be drawn out by the right people.

Character Theme | Kien Eilath

What instrumental track would play in the background of your character's story during their most meaningful moments? 

This song definitely plays for other meaningful moments in Kien's story but this moment above in particular is the first one I thought of when I got tagged! Takes place in Shb right after Mt. Gulg--I imagine the theme would begin to play as soon as Blaise (@circusredmage) hugged him because up until that point in Shb, Kien had been keeping quiet about the light corruption happening to him and not wanting to worry his friends but this was a pivotal moment of finally processing it all and knowing he had friends who cared and wanted to help him. Anyways, I am rambling and could go on forever XD I might do this with my other ocs if I have time! I was very excited to be tagged in this one so thank you @sundered-souls for the tag! ^^

Astraea:

I'd say this is accurate to Astraea's character. She starts her journey a wounded and lost soul, but it's through the kindness of two strangers that she finds her courage to return to Dalmasca and confront her past. Kindness is what saved her from herself, and so she confidently moves forward with kindness toward others in need of it, to aid them and show them a way forward from their pain.

6. Illusion

"You've been having difficulty sleeping lately. You're haunted by thoughts as you lie in bed‐ worries… regrets…"

The adorable, freckle faced Raen sitting across from me in this cheap, dimly lit bar can't believe what she's hearing. She looks down at the divination cards I've spread out on a velvet cloth on the ale stained table. She's thinking about how magical this experience is. I'm thinking about how sticky I've just made a nice piece of velvet by spreading it on this gross table. She won't be the only one kept awake by regrets tonight.

"How… how do the cards know that? How can you read that in them?"

I can't. My saying I can is just another trick. An illusion. I believe some people can genuinely read these cards because I believe in the goddess of fate and I believe in magic. I just can't figure out how to tap into my own. I need to push these thoughts aside and leave the insecurity and intrusive feelings of inadequacy to the other drunks in this bar. I know she has trouble sleeping because she's here right now, near closing time, with dark circles under her eyes and asking a stranger to read her fortune. 

"The cards can tell us anything we want to know," I answer mysteriously. This is a true statement, of course. We can read any damned thing we want into them. "I just happen to have specialized training and insight into them." This is a lie. I have no training and I don't know chocobo shit about them.

"Can… can they tell me about Jaron?" 

"Of course," I say with an easy smile. "Same payment as the last reading?"

She nods and orders me another drink. This might be my last reading if I don't want to just drunkenly admit I've made everything up. She's adorable and she's really getting off easy here. I haven't stolen from her or asked her to give me any of her things as payment. Just buy my drinks. Am I getting soft!?

I go through the motions of gathering the cards up again. I shuffle them slowly. I think it's better to do it slowly in this kind of scam. It puts weight and anticipation behind it the more intentional the actions look. Ritualistic. I then ask her to shuffle them to infuse her aetheric pattern into the oracular weave of the cards or whatever the fuck. She does so. She takes it very seriously. She closes her eyes while she does it, really investing herself in the magic of the moment. This would be the perfect time to pickpocket her. I don't. 

Well, fuck me, I am getting soft.

She finishes, opens her eyes, and smiles at me, taking a big, nervous breath in the process. "Tell me about Jaron?"

I scrutinize her. Is this a boyfriend? A crush? A brother? She's nervous. I can just tell her the cards see that. Say the cards tell her to worry less and-

I look at the cards.

What in the Seven Hells?

These aren't my cards. One of the cards is of a black haired Viera woman. She's wearing a mask and black, skin tight clothes. There's a dagger in her hand. And one strapped to a thigh. And… actually… I squint. Does she have even more hidden on her despite how tight her clothes are? She's terrifying. And, obviously, also incredibly hot.

"What do you see?" The guest at the table peers at the cards. Can she see this too? 

The second card is another masked figure. This one with swords. He looks terrifying. He moves on the card- turning his head towards the Viera. I scoot back in my chair and whisper the only magic mantra that makes sense to me. "What the fuck what the fuck what the fuck…"

My vision goes out like I've been forced into a dream. I'm watching this man follow the Viera. I can feel what he's feeling. Murder. This is a job to him. That woman was responsible for… something? He has to stop her before she interferes with more of his plans. Is this real? An illusion?

Then I'm me again. In this tavern. Sweating and confused. The cards are the regular cards again. I have one thought on my mind: "I have to let that woman know." I look up from the cards and the Au Ra looks very confused. But I'm not looking at her anymore. I'm looking past her into a dark corner of the tavern- to an area I hadn't paid attention to before. Sitting there, nursing a drink, and watching the rest of the bar is a Viera with dark hair, dressed all in black, a dagger on the table.

It's her. 

The girl from the cards.

"Is my brother ok?" The Raen asks, concerned.

Oh! It was a brother! 

"Uh," I say. "He's going through a lot. He's going to need you in the days to come. He might try to shut you out, but communication is key. Don't give up on him." She is satisfied with my generic answer and does not stop me as I stand and say,

"Excuse me. There's someone else I need to talk to…"

For the random dialogue prompts: “Please tell me you have a plan?”

"Of course I do."

The confidence in his voice was assuring, at least for the moment. Having tossed a ring to her as he watched Phoebe expertly snatch it from the air, Syla couldn't help but huff proudly. The pair of viera had gotten mixed up yet again in something far over Syla's head. But still, he had listened to Phoebe's plans. Why he had needed to abscond with the ring from a very influential noble woman was far beyond him. But he left the why to her. Hells, he trusted her enough to.

But the getting out portion was...on him. The pair half walking at a faster pace, side by side as they loosened any constraints on their formal wear. "Now, don't ask me if it's a good plan. That wasn't what we agreed on." Trying to laugh to keep himself level headed, Syla cracked his knuckles loudly.

Just in case they had to fight their way out. Even if something in him wanted to fight their way out. And by the sound of the oncoming footsteps? He might just get it.
