I have been torrenting since 2007, but putlocker and a few of these others were my go to until I could afford TB storage and a good PC for a home server. Now I use Jellyfin plus Sonarr/Radarr, and NZBGeek with Docker for easy media downloading. Tbh, my spouse did 99% of it cause he's a Linux nerd and all I can manage is a VPN and qbittorrent.
It's a bit of a pain to set up initially but well worth it, especially the paid tracker(NZB), since free streaming sites aren't that reliable (not always great quality and stuff can get taken down). Plus you get to actually own your shit and can old media since these corps don't care about archiving.
If that's a bit much, you can still do well with torrenting. Just use qbittorrent and pay for a vpn, I recommend mullvad or PIA, free ones are unreliable with privacy. It's still cheaper than any streaming service and more useful anyway. 1337x and rarbg are the go for torrents. PirateBay sucked even in the early aughts, they only have brand recognition.
The piracy subreddits were an excellent source of info in getting set up and I highly recommend checking those out.

Highly recommend reading the other two books! Howl is even more ridiculous as a "main character" that only shows up in the end. Especially in the third book. My guy just masquerades as a cherubic toddler cause his own baby been getting more attention than him. And he somehow spins it as doing work actually while poor Sophie being the real wizard while juggling two children ℓσℓ
that Diana Wynne Jones interview where she’s like “I don’t understand why so many girls are into Howl, it must be because they want the challenge of fixing him” is so optimistic, like DWJ’s out here hoping I at least want to make him a more functional person as if “rogue academic turned melodramatic fashion disaster whose social skills Do Not live up to his own hype” is not a perfectly valid thing to be attracted to
