"The U.S. military launched a clandestine program amid the COVID crisis to discredit China’s Sinovac inoculation – payback for Beijing’s efforts to blame Washington for the pandemic. One target: the Filipino public. Health experts say the gambit was indefensible and put innocent lives at risk."
I knew the fears over Sinovac were overblown and racist, but I had no clue the USA was pushing them! I'm appauled that my government would spend tax dollars during a fucking global pandemic to fearmonger and propagandize to another country's citizens about a perfectly viable vaccine!
It's Neocolonialism pure and simple, and it wiped out thousands of Philipino lives.

Looking up for Ichigo himself, "Takeshi" has two meanings, depending on what kanji is used, either "strong/healthy" or "military/martial". I'm not for certain, but I BELIEVE that Hongo's kanji is the former, so his name should mean strength. So something like Andre, Ethan, or even Zephyr (which also has connotations with wind, fitting Ichigo's original powers).
But there's actually two names that fit the military definition more, but seem like they really match Hongo? One is, funny enough, "Ryder", old English for "mounted warrior", which would be hilarious but too stupid. But apparently "Miles" translates to "merciful soldier", and I can think of few two-word descriptions that better fit the man who once said "human life is even more important than peace and justice".
"Hongō" apparently means "hometown or village", which, yes, kinda means Takeshi Hongo's name translates to "hometown hero". So like...Miles Patrick (which means "patrician" and in Latin relates to like...Roman city-states?)? Or Miles Bayan, if we make him Philipino?
I dunno, just spitballing here. Lemme be clear that even if they were to Americanize Kamen Rider, they could always cast Asian leads and retain the original names.
So out of random curiosity, I was thinking, "what if they did a western adaptation of Kamen Rider, in English with westernized characters?" Specifically, one based on the original 1971 series, with the same characters, but under new names? And that lead me to thinking, what do our lead character's names actually translate to, and what could a roughly equivalent Western name be, not necessarily in sound but in meaning?
This led to me finding out that our beloved Kamen Rider #2, Hayato Ichimonji, has a name that roughly translates to "falcon-man first-letter". Which would mean a westernized version of his name would be, according to my quick internet search, something like...Haytham Alpha. Or if you wanna go with a more common modern name, "Gavin" means hawk. But I kinda like Haytham because it also keeps the HAY and T from Hayato, so it's both a punny alliterative translation and a meaningfully accurate one.

Egypt & Jordan - day 10
We started the day in Amman early, as we had to drive many kilometers. Our first stop was Mount Nebo. It is mentioned in the Bible as the place where Moses was granted a view of the Holy Land. . The view from the summit provides a panorama of the land, the valley of the River Jordan, and the West Bank of Jericho. sometimes Jerusalem can be on a very clear day - unfortunately our day we not too clear and very windy. After being almost blown away literally and figuratively taking our photos, we went inside the church where beautiful Byzantine mosaics are found on the floor. Once inside we were joined by a tour bus of Philipino Catholics on a pilgrimage and they had Sunday Mass. It was very special to view a little part of their mass on a Sunday in a primarily Muslim country.
We then headed to a Mosaic factory, which employs only handicapped employees. We watched as some of the ladies cut the pieces of stone and lay them on the mosaics. It was fascinating and beautiful.
We boarded the bus again and headed to the town of Madaba, home to one of Jordan’s largest Christian communities and the Greek Orthodox St. The church wasn’t built until the end of the 19th century, but during construction workers uncovered one of the most important surviving artistic relics of the Byzantine era: the Madaba Mosaic Map. Created by artisans in the 6th century, the mosaic was once an intricate map of Holy Land sites, covering modern-day Jordan, Israel, the Palestinian Territories, and Egypt’s Sinai. Only a quarter of the original work survives today, but even this fragment, which sits in the floor of the church, shows astounding detail.
When we finished checking out the map, we headed to Al-Karak to see the remains of Karak Castle, one of the largest castles still standing from the Crusades. The fortress is an impressive example of military architecture, built on top of a ridge, separated from the old fortified town by a deep moat.
After Karen Castle, we continued our long journey to the town of Wadi Musa, our home for the next two nights. We had a group supper at the hotel. They served Maklouba - a casserole made of layers of rice, vegetables and chicken. After cooking, the pot is flipped upside-down onto the plate when served. Maqluba literally translate as ‘upside down’. We went to bed early, as we would have an early and long day at Petra tomorrow!!

Copied from a group on FB:
On 8 May 2021, Sunni Islamic terrorists attacked a girls high school in Hazara Shia areas of western Kabul. Sayed al Shuhada High School located in the Hazara neighbourhood of Dasht-e Barchi in western Kabul was hit by three blasts in the afternoon local time as hundreds of girls were walking out of their school. The blasts killed 80 and injured over 150, mostly school girls aged between 15 and 17 years olds. This is not the first time that Taliban/Islamic State terrorists are attacking Hazara Shia schools and educational centres. In the past on several occasions they committed similar attacks of terror, killing hundreds of Hazara Shia kids.
My community is in total shock. Terrorists carried out their attack at a school in slum-like outskirts of the city where only a week early those students protested for not having classrooms, teachers and other educational facilities. Their school despite being located at the capital city did not even have a proper building. The girls who were killed and maimed yesterday were studying under torn out tents and on dirt on the ground. Their families who are struggling with backbreaking poverty have been forced to flock to slums of the capital city because of continued Taliban attacks targeting them due to their ethnic and religious identities.
What is more shocking is the utter silence and disregard of the international community. Incidents like yesterday barely make a news coverage in international media but usually the number of casualties reported are several times lower than the actual figures. In February 2020, Trump Administration signed a Peace Deal with the Taliban providing the medieval terrorist group with international political and diplomatic recognition and legitimacy. Taliban provide an umbrella or coverage to the most barbaric Islamist terrorists whose fighters are fighting with the rank and file of the Taliban. Among the groups that are offered sanctuary by the Taliban are Al-Qaeda, Sepahi Sahaba - Pakistan, Jamiat Ulama-e Islam - Pakistan, Haqqani Network - Pakistan, several other Pakistani groups, Kashmiri terrorists, Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, Islamic Movement of East Turkistan (Uyghurs of China), Arabs, Philipinos, Indonesians, Malaysians, Bangladeshis and Chechens. Despite all that the US signed a deal with the Taliban which is practically handling over Afghanistan back to terrorists. Islamic State-Khorasan Province also continues to target and kill Hazara Shia through sustained campaign of mass killing by their suicide bombers, car bombers and other brutal methods such kidnappings and beheadings.
Afghanistan is not safe for Hazara Shias. The Pashtun ethnic, President Ashraf Ghani is not only mentally unfit for office but he is an ethno-fascist whose policies have so far been directed toward more marginalisation of ethnic and religious minorities. His government released 5500 hardcore Taliban terrorists who were all captured while committing acts of terror. He has shadowy figures in his close circle of insiders some of whom are accused of closely working the Islamic State and other terrorist groups. Ghani government is openly targeting Hazaras by unnecessarily deploying and stationing military garrisons with hundreds of tanks and armoured vehicles in places like Behsud, in Maidan-Wardak province. Through his ethno-fascistic and discriminatory policies, President Ghani has sown the seeds of more animosity and hatred among the diverse religious and ethnic populations of the country. During his 5 year tenure in power, some 60,000 Afghan security forces’ members have been killed.
Currently, over half the country is controlled by the Taliban. American and NATO forces announced that they complete the withdrawal of their forces by 11 September 2021, the twentieth anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York, Washington DC and Pensilvania that led the US to invade Afghanistan and Iraq. The US and NATO troops are withdrawing even ahead of their schedule, handing over to the terrorist Taliban and the tens of other Islamic terrorists groups affiliated with the Taliban.
My community is in shock. Hazara Shias are not safe in Afghanistan. Hazara Shias are getting targeted and killed in their schools, tuition centres, sporting clubs, mosques, wedding functions and funerals. Hazara Shias cannot move about freely. They’re getting kidnapped, tortured, killed and beheaded on the roads and highways. Afghan authorities have shown times and again that Hazara Shias’ lives do not matter for them. Hazara Shias fear that with the return of the Taliban to power, they will be subjected to renewed round of massacres, ethnic cleansing and genocidal campaign. Afghanistan is on the brink of an all out war and if the situation is not managed well, the country would inevitably face an ethnic and religious genocide that would remind the world of the 1994 Rwandan genocide when ethnic Hutu extremists slaughtered some 800000 ethnic Tutsis. If the international community turn its back to Afghanistan today, tomorrow will be too late but to lament our failures.

Japan in WW2
Beginning in the 1920′s, Japan had the idea to build up it’s army, to then attack China in 1931, from what was considered the beginning of World War 2. During the period of this conflict, Japan was given it’s reputation for being particularly brutal in combat and execution, though this bout with China led for a desperate need for more conscripted soldiers.
Beginning with a boarder dispute, the Imperial Japanese Army began another conflict with Russia, ultimately being defeated by the Red Army. Due to this failure, the Ministry of War lessened it’s prestige on the IJA, and moved most of it’s funding towards the Navy instead. Inadvertently, this created a rivalry between the services.
In 1942, Hideki Tojo gave the order to attack the American-owned military base, Pearl Harbor, in Hawaii. This attack lead to America officially joining the conflict of World War 2. Despite forcing the world’s most powerful nation into war with a small secluded Island who had failed in all two of it’s prior conflicts, the Emperor made Tojo Prime Minister.
The Japanese went on to hold it’s land taken from the Chinese, and also taking Hong Kong and Singapor from the British Empire, before moving on to the Philipines, taking on thousands of American and Philipino prisoners of war.
Moving on with it’s conquest, The IJA went to conquer Burma with the help of the Thai Army and Burmese Independance Forces, managing to push the Chinese and British forces out of the country.
After a few waves of success, Japan was forced to take a more defensive stance due to Allied counter attacks, which lead to Japan having a shortage of a multitude of supplies, meaning most Japanese soldiers were dying of starvation than in conflict, leading the Japanese to taking more “sacrificial” attack methods, such as wild rifle-charges, and kamikaze pilot maneuvers.
In 1945, the US took back the Philipines, even taking Japanese islands Iwo Jima and Okinawa, leading the Japanese recalling all troops back to the mainland to prepare for an invasion that did not come.
The war ended with the destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki by atomic bomb and Japan surrendered to the US.
6.3 million men served in the Imperial Japanese Army, 1.3 million were killed or missing in action.
Look at this wanker...

Martial Arts Battling Styles - A Presentation
Martial arts battling styles are numerous and fluctuated with methods as well as standards, societies and philosophical methodologies shifting generally. One of the troubles in grouping battling styles is that there is no distinct agreement on what is the meaning of a genuine martial arts battling style. With the end goal of this article I will utilize the meaning of a martial arts battling style as any framework or strategy relating to battling and battle circumstances, as this consents to the word reference meaning of the terms martial and art. A few "specialists" would contend that they should begin from Asian societies; an assessment that does not consider the battling frameworks of old Greece or Europe and their cutting edge inferences. From a general point of view martial arts styles can be isolated into those that stress the utilization of weapons, those that focus on striking and those that underline hooking systems. This is just an exceptionally broad order the same number of frameworks consolidate at least two of these groupings and albeit numerous reporters would contend that a genuine martial art requires the utilization of these parts of battling that isn't the situation with huge numbers of the acknowledged martial arts disciplines. Frameworks of martial arts battling styles have developed from the battling strategies and techniques utilized by warriors all through the world and can be as differing as full frameworks educated in schools of military preparing to frameworks of battling created and kept inside families. It is just in the late nineteenth and mid twentieth hundreds of years that we see the deliberately encouraged guidance of styles that we see today, developed. A considerable lot of these frameworks have lost their reasonable battling capacity to the alleged thoughtful parts of the particular art or have been totally transformed into just sports. Some martial arts battling styles have just showed up inside the most recent 100 years and have never been presented to the thorough choice of genuine battling that their antecedents experienced. In the weaponry rich frameworks we locate the Japanese frameworks of Kendo, Kenjutsu, Iaido, Jodo together with the Karate weaponry frameworks got from the Kobudo weapons frameworks. Striking and catching is either missing or in all respects inadequately created in these frameworks. The Chinese arts additionally use numerous weapons as part of their Kung Fu frameworks yet these are instructed as part of unarmed battle frameworks also. Likely the most extravagant weapons frameworks are those of the Philippines and close by regions of Malaysia and Indonesia; the edge and stick-battling frameworks of Kali, Escrima and Arnis. These battling frameworks likewise have an exceptionally mind boggling and incredible unarmed battle parts, together with the weapons and some additionally use tossing and ground battling, these frameworks were especially family prepared frameworks. The Europeans additionally have the quarter-staff, sword and knife frameworks which were incredibly very much created and in the event that you need to acknowledge the definition that martial arts battling styles are frameworks and strategies for war and battling then you would likewise need to incorporate the controls of present day gun and blade use in this arrangement. The striking frameworks are presumably the most outstanding and most rehearsed all through the world with the Karate arrangement of Japan being the most notable. There are a wide range of styles of Karate each having marginally extraordinary accentuation on various procedures and keeping in mind that most incorporate some type of weaponry at higher levels it is positively not very much created and doesn't have a viable sensible use, apart from exercise and fortifying worth which is ordinarily the support for utilizing them as part of their frameworks. A lot of it is drawn from the Kobudo gathering of weapons and has lost a great deal of it's usefulness in custom. The most dominant striking martial art would be Muay Thai and its nearby cousin Burmese boxing; these striking frameworks are all around created and convey hits with unfathomable speed, power and fierceness. Brazilian Capoiera is an aerobatic striking style that has lost quite a bit of its useful battling capacity that existed in the first African framework from which it was determined. A comparable circumstance is shown by the Chinese martial art of Wushu which has turned out to be garish and exhibits minimal handy battling capacity. Do we incorporate western confining martial arts? I believe that we ought to on the grounds that it satisfies much indistinguishable prerequisites of Judo from a martial art. It has endured the difference in time in setting rules on it however in the past it was surely progressively severe then it is presently. It conveys its very own way of thinking and that acquaints me with the contention that a martial art ought to have a fundamental way of thinking a point that I unquestionably concur with, nonetheless, who is anybody to state that the methods of reasoning by which we westerners do things are not as substantial as the ways of thinking of the eastern societies. Present day wrestling is in a similar class being gotten from the antiquated Pankration and now constrained by principles however again it was initially utilized for battling and had and still has an unmistakable way of thinking behind it. Presently we go to the self protection frameworks of Close Quarter Battle and Krav Maga again these would fit the arrangement of a martial art as set somewhere around different determinants. This is despite the fact that Krav Maga does not profess to be one, however one just needs to peruse the first goal of its originator to establish that it is a martial art. The striking arts of the malaysian, philipino and indonesian region are likewise vey all around created with the silats showing an extremely mind boggling and rich comprehension of battling standards and ideas. The battling styles that stress catching incorporate Judo, Jiu jitsu, Aikido and sumo from Japan together with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Jawline Na from China. Here we locate the most grounded help for the contention that a portion of the frameworks I have named martial arts above ought to be incorporated. On the off chance that you are to expel boxing and wrestling from the order of martial arts then you need to evacuate Sumo and Judo too. Russian Sambo, American Catch, Free-form and Greco-Roman wrestling are battling frameworks that exist on that edge of the order are generally named a game. The most extravagant of the martial arts battling styles are the muti-discipline martial arts, for example, Ninjutsu and the Chinese Kungfus in spite of the fact that the last has a wide range of styles with most just underlining a couple of parts of battling. The most prevailing battling framework right now is Blended Martial Arts. This together with its motivation from Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Vale Tudo is the greatest thing that has happened to martial arts since Bruce Lee. There are those that would contend it's anything but a martial art - as I would like to think this is totally ridiculous it has the majority of the prerequisites apart from the utilization of weapons, however neither do a significant number of the other acknowledged battling disciplines. The way of thinking is a western style of theory of mental strength and preparing order and, I state once more, what is so unique about that and eastern methods of reasoning. Particularly as we see eastern thoughtful driven social orders exhibiting hostile to humanistic and against condition rehearses all through the advanced world a significant number of which are driven by the methods of reasoning of Sun Tzu and the Go Rin No Sho as fundamental aides. This article is in no way, shape or form a total record of every battling framework as pretty much every nation around the globe has a battling framework as part of its way of life each having developed as time has passed by and ways of life have changed that thusly has prompted us using the estimations of martial arts for various reasons. What's hilarious about the Japanese is that they're politely racist to just about anyone, their immigration minister has been telling the UN to fuck off for years, and the police regularly stop foreigners and ask for ID. They're not assholes about it, but they have 0 issues asking for identification or paperwork if they even think you might be a foreigner. Many places, like liquor stores and bars won't even serve foreigners because a lot of the time they get loud, arrogant, and rambunctious tourists who trash the place. It's hard to rent in Japan as a foreigner because you need someone of Japanese descent to vouch for you that you're not a piece of shit, and the further you get away from tourist hotspots, the harder that is. A lot of places try not to rent to foreigners because they fear it will scare away their main customers, actual Japanese people. If you're military, it's even worse. I've been told by friends who are stationed in Japan that the mainland base, Yokota, isn't as bad, but at Kadena in Okinawa it's pretty bad. You pay out the ass for rent, enough that sometimes BAH won't even cover it all the way. You can't buy beer or liquor on base or in town because dipshits fuck people up drinking and driving. There are stores that won't sell to you at all past a certain time of night. The cops check military ID liberally. Imagine the vitriol western countries would get if we did the same thing to people from other places. I went to tech school with people from allied air force's, mainly the Saudi's. There a few Philipino guys who were nice, but holy shit the Saudi guys were dicks. They refused to listen to their female instructors who outranked them by multiple stripes, had a habit of calling all the female students, including me harlots and whores because apparently the us air force ABU doesn't cover up enough, and frequently had a shitfit at the dfacs over pork. They got their own special section of the dfac where their food was made because they had a cow if their food was prepared within even 50 feet of pork. They had their own roped off area where they ate, no females allowed. And nobody ever bothered them on base or off base despite them being huge cunts to everybody.
Guess who made a new comic today? Fucking Christ, Dobson…

How “comfort women” are currently being addressed.
After viewing Tiffany Hsiung’s film “The Apology,” it’s clear that there is a collective public denial of the Japanese military using Korean women (also Chinese, Philipino & Taiwanese) for sexual slavery in WWII. Moreover, the women struggle to be recognized as sex slaves by right wing community members (in Japan) who insist on counter protesting the women talking about their experiences of this institutionalized violence.
The current mayor of Osaka, Toru Hashimoto, is quoted saying that “forcing Asian women into prostitution was necessary to maintain army discipline.”
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2332027/Britain-US-kept-sex-slaves-World-War-Two-says-Japanese-mayor-Toru-Hashimoto.html
Following a public outcry against this sentiment, Hashimoto points fingers at American and British military for using sex slaves as well.
Reading these statements from Hashimoto makes me recall the tactics from Las Casas’s account of colonialism. In 1552, Bartolome de las Casas published “A Short Account of The Destruction of The Indies,” in which he justifies colonial efforts. Las Casas compares Spanish colonizer’s actions vs. other European countries (which, by his account, the Spanish were more brutal) to justify colonization. Las Casas attempts to claim that colonization was beneficial to the Native people, and that the Spanish colonizers were the group to commit the most violent atrocities. He claims that only after the Spanish colonizers used violence did the Native people protest to their colonization.
How Hashimoto is [not] addressing the sexual slavery used by the Japanese military in WWII is very similar. Hashimoto claims that the enforced brothels were for the greater good of the people. The idea behind the enforced brothels was to reduce the risk of potential sexual violence against young Japanese women.... except, Hashimoto refuses to acknowledge that the “comfort women stations,” were filled with women who were violently denied bodily autonomy, raped and sometimes murdered. Hashimoto points fingers at other militaries’ use of brothels to attempt to justify the violent actions of the Japanese military.
