Once the wretched bandits showed their hand, demonstrating that they had the capacity to become child murderers if necessary, Jack thought he had lost the battle. For, try as he might to claim otherwise, were he to watch as his daughter meet demise here such a scene would be...exceedingly detrimental to his fragile state of mind. 

So when the unavoidable did occur, his nightmares gaining form and shape with the assumed loss of his precious little girl, he saw red, vision blinded by his own raw fury as he appeared in person before the triumphant bandits, seeking blood. Thinking of nothing but the desire for reprisal, the aggrieved tyrant lashed out, first by eliminating the most significant member of the enemy’s party whilst capturing another. His intervention did not last for more than a few dozen seconds, a simple in-and-out, and yet his actions would speak volumes, gone again as quickly as he appeared with Lilith and his fallen Angel in tow. 

Whereas any parent battling loss would progress into acceptance, Jack had other plans. He knew she was special, one of the rare Sirens known to grace this universe at any given time. This fact, coupled with the vast wealth of resources at his disposal encouraged him to find a way to cheat the Reaper, sustain Angel’s life...and succeeded. 

Inevitably, he had eridium to thank for this miracle of life, ordering his men to resume injections loaded with the ethereal element so as to keep his own kin in the world of the living. In the grand scheme, his plans to open the second vault remain unchanged - a goal he was closer than every to achieving now that he’d brought the Siren Lilith to heel. But...for just a little while...such plans were suspended. He had a daughter to look after - and would stop at nothing to keep her alive.

“Is that so? Well that’s certainly good news.” At least he thought is was. It was a bit confusing as to why Angel said that and what lead her to saying it. He shrugged it off as if it were nothing. “That’s the spirit to be in, actually! It might make you happier keeping that mindset!”

The curtness of her demand gave Jack a sudden start, for once, taken aback by his daughter’s obstinacy. His gaze snapped to hers, an almost foreign, long-buried flash of distress behind those mismatched eyes; one that was replaced as soon as it appeared by anger, annoyance, as if she was being nothing more than a nuisance to him. The grasp on her arm tightened, almost BRUISING, as if to give a firm reminder of who was in charge while Jack worked to take control of the situation.

           She’s heard this voice more than once, first it was with those misfits searching for the infinite power of the Vault. The first batch of what would become another group. From the rumors that Tannis has heard, she’s referred to as the Guardian Angel to any and all Vault Hunters. She wasn’t sure exactly why but, supposedly it was because she saved the idiots from not knowing what to do next.

      Though what surprised Tannis the most was how she hear her say that. It was right after she sent the second batch of vault hunters out to hunt a few rats who wanted to integrate with society using disguises. She was wanting to continue the mission before the group of them left. Now she was alone, well mostly. 

    “How-w…” Questioning stutters faded off, just how could this thing contact her through her ECHO. Tannis had no knowledge of disposing it to the ‘Guardian.’ “Well, I would say you’re right. As of late, I'm wondering how you infiltrated my best friend. Care to tell me how you hacked into my ECHO?”
