From vibrant cosplay conventions to adrenaline-pumping gaming tournaments, gamers across the globe come together to celebrate their shared passion through a myriad of cultural expressions and events. The emergence of competitive gaming, or esports, has propelled gaming into the mainstream, captivating professional players and audiences alike. Esports tournaments attract massive crowds, with players vying for substantial prizes and global recognition on the competitive stage.

The advent of game streaming platforms like Twitch and YouTube Gaming has revolutionized gaming into a spectator sport. Millions of viewers flock to these platforms to watch their favorite streamers engage in gameplay, interact with fans, and exhibit their gaming prowess (Taylor 2018, pp. 1–23). 2. Game and platforms

Gaming has witnessed a surge in accessibility across various platforms, including consoles, PCs, and mobile devices, each offering distinct experiences tailored to diverse demographics within the gaming community. Games serve as hubs for social interaction, fostering connections and communities among players. Multiplayer games, online forums, and virtual worlds provide avenues for gamers to collaborate, compete, and cultivate friendships.

Platformization not only serves as a lens through which we comprehend the world but also actively shapes it by marginalizing alternative configurations, histories, and politics of platforms (Chia et al. 2020). Game engines exemplify this phenomenon, transcending their role as neutral software development tools to become platforms that enable specific design methodologies, production workflows, and systems for coordinating user activities (Chia et al. 2020). Gordano Lodge 6244 who meet in the Clevedon Temple here in the Province of Somerset.

Recently held their awesome annual Christmas Carol service to packed to capacity audience, this social event in our calendar ticked all the boxes coming down from PGL Somerset, we had members and their partners, visiting members, joining members, new members, brethren awaiting to join, un attached members now wanting to re join all with Thier wives and partners too, we had masonic widows and just people who wanted to come to one of our events.

A huge well don to Phil and Jenifer Du Kamp for organising this carol service and wonderful festive meal.

Our brilliant WM and his wife Gill lead us masterfully right from the start, Matt played the organ and raised the roof of the temple as I am sure you could hear our carols out at the seafront in Clevedon, we had some wonderful readings in between the carols, one really rang out to me and resonated to my heart read by Julie an inspirational young woman.

The festive board was jolly with lots of laughter, a free raffle that raised lots of money from donations to local causes, even the children who were there were not left out and all received a gift from or WM and his lady and from the Lodge.

A wonderful day of Carols, Readings, good food and wine and fantastic company, what else would you expect from a lodge like Gordano 6244 who really do live up to Masonic values.

PGL reveals the schedule of first CS2 Major in Copenhagen

PGL decided to weigh in and announce the first CS2 Major's schedule after a recent flurry of Counter-Strike 2 news. Next year, the first CS2 tournament supported by Valve will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark, thanks to the tournament organisers. On June 12, the organisation revealed the dates of RMR events in each region as well as the precise dates of each Major stage. https://twitter.com/pglesports/status/1668166556889513984 When it comes to the qualifying tournaments—RMRs—the first one will take place from February 14 to 24, 2024, with European teams battling it out for a chance to attend the Major. It remains unknown whether PGL will split the European RMR into two qualifiers, like BLAST did for the Paris CS:GO Major though. Asian and American RMRs will take place on February 26-29 and March 1-4, respectively. As of now it remains unknown whether the RMRs will be hosted in the capital of Denmark as well, or if the participants will visit other cities, which once again, was the case with the Parisian Major. The first CS2 Major in Copenhagen will kick off on March 17 with the Challengers Stage, which will last four days. Then, the Legends Stage will begin on March 21. The best teams in the tournament will advance to the Champions Stage (playoffs), which are scheduled to kick off on March 28, with the grand final taking place on March 31. The exact schedule is as follows: - RMR Europe – February 14-24, 2024 - RMR Asia – February 26-29, 2024 - RMR Americas – March 1-4, 2024 - Challengers Stage – March 17-20, 2024 - Legends Stage – March 21-24, 2024 - Champions Stage – March 28-31, 2024 The PGL Copenhagen CS2 Major will feature a prize pool of $1,250,000. PureGaaLee's WIP Your Heart 2023: Event Wrap

Hello, PGL followers and event participants. I am going to start this event wrap on a somber and necessarily serious note.

If you were keeping track of the event dates, then you know this event wrap was originally scheduled to be released mid October when the WIPYHO officially ended. That did not happen due to the increased and on-going assault on Gaza, Palestine by the settler-colony known as Israel. With the genocide still currently unfolding, my attention and priorities have not been on fandom--and I know I am not alone in that.

I wanted to post-pone making this event wrap-up because of what's happening, but now that it's been nearly two months since the end of the event, I did not want to keep participants waiting. So I apologize for the wait, but I hope people are not only understanding, but also paying close attention to the escalation in ethnic cleansing taking place and doing what they can for Palestinians whether that's sharing posts, donating, or going to protests.

Dota 2 community grieves over tragic death of popular Chinese caster

Fans of Dota 2 gathered to mourn the passing of adored Chinese caster Mi "Yammers" Hongwei, who tragically committed suicide after battling mental health problems. Yammers revealed the news himself via a scheduled Weibo post on May 29, which has since circulated on social media, where the caster details his life and struggles with depression—particularly after the passing of his father in March 2019. Yammers will be forever remembered as one of the most passionate casters in the scene. He worked across numerous premier events and was one of China’s most prolific voices in Dota, including three iterations of The International, the Dota 2 Asia Championships 2018, ONE Esports Singapore Major 2021, WePlay AniMajor, The International 2021, Riyadh Masters 2022, and the PGL Arlington Major 2022. Dota 2 fans expressed their sorrow on social media, describing it as a “very tough read” and a stark reminder about how important it is for people experiencing similar things to seek help. One player claiming to be his friend said he was unaware of the struggles Yammers experienced throughout his life. He always seemed to be upbeat, positive, and lively, and although he had a deep passion for Dota, he never realized it was a means for him to escape reality. The Brazilian veteran has been a part of some of the best South American rosters in history, but he’s nowhere near his peak 2016 form which saw him lead Luminosity and SK to back-to-back Major wins. PureGaaLee Presents: WIP Your Heart Out

The end of the year is fast approaching, and with it PureGaaLee is getting ready for a new event to kick off 2023! After all, what better way to start the new year than with an event to help you accomplish one of your resolutions?

WIP Your Heart Out is designed to help you get those languishing stories finished! Did you make a resolution in 2022 to finish that fic, but didn't? Are you resolving to finish that fic in 2023? Do you have multiple WIPs hanging over your head? Well, this event is for you!

The event will be a long-running, formal event with sign-ups and regular check-ins, and it is for both writers and artists!

Writers will sign-up at the start of the year with any number of WIPs they want to get done, and artists will sign-up two months later by picking one or more fics to create art for! This event relies heavily on the relationship between fan writers and fan artists, and how we all inspire one another! And hopefully, this event can inspire you to finish your project!

This is not a prompt based event, so there's no need to worry about filling prompts or finding inspiration for a new idea. Just dust off those WIPs and get crackin'!

The event will be open to writers, artists, and artist pinch-hitters! So be on the lookout for announcements!

Lee didn't get to finish his sentence, for a sleuth of something tackled him to the ground, making the walls spin around him.

He felt it wrapping around him, runny and coarse. He got a taste of it with his fall, and again now that he was basically buried in it. it was undoubtedly sand, now mixed with the metallic taste of his blood. He could hear Neji's terrified screams. Let him go, you're a monster, you're killing him. There was a bone chilling growl as the sand pressed tightly around his body and started to move. He tried to scream for Neji to run, to find Tenten, but he only got a muffled scream out as the sand filled his mouth. He felt how the it dragged him across the floor and into the darkness, likely following diligently behind the red-headed ghost from before.

When the sand retreated and he found himself face to face with his captor, Lee tried reasoning with it. He wasn't sure it even understood what he was saying, but it was worth a shot. They weren't there to harm it, they didn't mean to disturb it, if it let them, they'd leave immediately and never come back, anything to try to convince the ghost to let him go. It just looked at him with bloodshot and empty eyes as it got closer inch by inch.

Something about Lee's tears must've pissed it off, cause the second it felt them with it's cold, dead hands, it at him and tore into his neck desperately with it's sharp fangs.

As the light dimmed in Lee's vision, he could've sworn he saw something other than hate in the monster's eyes.
