SWITZERLAND // Surreal views from Oeschinen Lake, Kandersteg. Kandersteg is an insanely beautiful high-altitude resort village in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland - it takes approximately 2 hours and 19 min by train to get here from Zurich. Took away cheese fondue from Raclette Stube Zurich (couldn’t finish it the previous night) to enjoy here. We had the fondue valaisanne (with tomatoes): CHF31.80 per person and pickled onions and gherkins (CHF5.90). Total bill came to CHF 69.50 which was around AUD 90. Crazy price as it was basically just melted cheese, bread, gherkins and onions. There was high alcoholic content in the fondue and we were so cheesed out by this fondue (I love cheese btw!) that we couldn’t feel like anything to do with cheese for the rest of the trip.
