like there’s no point in getting heated over it because nobody cares but the gymnastics that asian players have to perform in order to gain recognition in the prem is craaaaazy. look at park jisung who was the engine of united’s midfield (admitted by ferguson himself) and the way he was repaid by fans with that racist chant and is frequently omitted from conversation when talking about that era. obviously sonny is the best example of this because apart from a shaky first season in 2015 he’s done nothing but overperform and bag goals and assists (in a side with a prolific striker too!) and step up to the plate in difficult situations, carrying the club through that cl run in 2019. won the golden boot in 21/22 and wasn’t nominated for the pfa award. like it’s seriously such a joke! asian players come from countries that don’t invest in football or any facilities or academies (there’s a reason why korean and japanese players are the ones most likely to make it and that’s simply bc those countries invest a liiiiiittle bit more) and work hard all the way to the top by the skin of their teeth and yet don’t get recognition when they perform outstandingly well. written off at the first second because they’re asian. it’s maddening and it’s unfair and despite people like sonny and park jisung and lee youngpyo and tomiyasu and mitoma it’ll simply never get better if people don’t check their biases. anyway. eric said it best 👍🏾

Omg yessss we'll be interested in it, it add more the the story/character so it's good😁
This took me a little while to do! but I feel like it's a needed addition to the story and more depth to catley!reader other than just being Steph's younger sister who also plays football. Hope it all makes sense!
--------------------------------------------------- Senior Career
2016 - 2020 Melbourne City 2020 - 2023 Manchester City : 2020 - 2021 Brighton & Hove Albion (Loan) 2023 - Arsenal
International Career
Australia U17 Australia U20 Australia
Awards
2017 - 18 A-League Women Young Footballer of the Year 2018 - 19 W-League PFA Team of the Season 2019 Melbourne City WFC Player of the Year 2022 - 23 Women's Super League PFA Team of the Season
---------------------------------------------------
Wanting to follow Steph's footsteps, also being exposed to football quite early on from Steph, she joined the local team along with joining Melbourne City's Football School from age 5. At age 9 was invited to City's Select Squad program. After a few years working with Academy Coaches she was invited to train and trial with the a-league women's first team. After months of training and gaining experience with the first team she got her debut game. Beating Sam's record of being the youngest player to debut in the a-league women and she always brings it up to knock Sam's ego down a bit.
The younger Catley made the move to England and the WSL before Steph did. Manchester City having seen potential in the young player and that she would fit well in the WSL. A season on loan to get the minutes to develop further as a player on the pitch. Once returned the younger Catley fit right in with Manchester City, getting a few starts throughout the 21/22 season. Being an integral part in the 21/22 Conti Cup campaign and final helping Manchester City to win earning her to start almost every match the following season across all competitions for the 22/23 season.
Named in the WSL team of the year and with a contract ending with Manchester City at the end of the season, Arsenal were very interested in signing the younger Catley. Several other clubs across the WSL and throughout Europe were quite interested but Steph being at Arsenal that swayed her decision just wanting to be close and play with Steph again.
Junior matilda's (U17) -> young matilda's (U20) -> matilda's being a standby player for the matildas 2019 world cup campaign but not making a debut for the matildas until 2021
Quite the player, a little prodigy and she always credits Steph for her interest in the sport (she really looks up to her sister and is incredibly proud and hopes that she can make the family just as proud as Steph)

I'm a long-time english womens football fan and still know the days when we had a completely different league schedule with spring series and stuff. AKB arrived in the middle of the season (for us back then) from PSG at Birmingham in the summer of '16 and kinda exploded into the league. I think all the top clubs were waiting for her contract to run out once we reached the 18/19 season. She's been voted into the PFA team of the year in 17/18 for a reason. Chelsea back then was actually a baffling choice because they already had three keepers while most other teams only had two. Emma openly said that she didn't want anybody else to have her, so she signed her in the middle of the season although she planned for to be the future number one the beginning of the season after. AKBs contract ran to the end of 2018 because the league had a different schedule when she was signed. That Ann Berger and Jess Carter were a couple wasn't like very publicly known back then, but it definitely wasn't a well hidden secret for people going to games and following the league and players very closely. There were some mumblings when it was announced that Chelsea had signed AKB whether the signing of Carter was also partially to entice Berger over because while she was a talented young player Emma seemed to be way more interested in Berger and kinda thought of her as her "missing piece" that she needed for her team. Say what you will about her, and she certainly made very wrong roster decisions in the past that even have effect now after she already left, but this one paid off tremendously for Chelsea. Many people nowadays are just recent fans and don't even know how many cups and important games Chelsea only won because of AKB. End of my history lesson
Always love a good wsl history lesson

Presenting PFA Young Player of the Year... Grace Clinton
Manchester United Womens midfielder Grace Clinton has won the PFA Women's Young Player of the Year Award 2024 for her performances whilst on loan at Tottenham Hotspur last season.
Tumblr media
Midfielder Grace Clinton and defender Maya Le Tissier were both in attendance at the PFA Awards 2024 last night and both competing for the Womens Young Player of the Year accolade - Grace for her loan spell at Spurs and Maya for her crucial role at the heart of United's defence.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately it wasn't to be for Maya, but nobody can deny that Grace Clinton had a stellar season away from United, scoring 4 goals and assisting 4 during the campaign. We can only hope that she can brings that form and builds on it back at Manchester United this coming season.
There were rumours, as with several fully departed United players, that Clinton had issues with manager Marc Skinner. Plenty of us fans aren't sold on the man in charge, but his public comments on Grace have all been positive and all about her qualities and the role she has to play long-term at United. Grace moved to United from Everton in the summer of 2022 though, didn't feature by New Year 2023, and then was loaned to Bristol City for the remainder of the season - before again being sent out to Tottenham for a full season's development loan. It'd be hard not to be frustrated at that, which is perhaps where some of the rumours about unrest came from.
We can only hope this was part of a longer term plan though and that Skinner's comments are true. There's very evident talent on show, and with the departures of Irene Guerrero and Katie Zelem, and the arrival of young DM Simi Awujo, it seems that United are working to freshen up the midfield area.
youtube
The main PFA Women's Player of the Year award went to Khadija 'Bunny' Shaw, the star Manchester City striker, whilst the mens awards went to Manchester City's Phil Foden and Chelsea's Cole Palmer respectively; the first time two English men's players have won in the same season since 2009-10 when a young Wayne Rooney and a slightly older James Milner picked up their awards.

yes what ten hag is doing to sancho is extremely unprofessional yes sancho is being silly for not apologising yes they both need to bonk their heads together and call it a day
BUT don't exclude the fact that ten hag helped him last season, he protected jadon from the media, he sent him to the netherlands with coaches to help him regain his form away from the media away from any scrutiny, he let sancho come back when sancho was ready not when ten hag wanted him back, he didn't have an issue with it taking 3 months for sancho to be okay again
ten hag has been strict with the players since he came into the club, he sanctioned an 18 year old garnacho for not being on time during preseason he benched rashford for being 45 seconds late when we played wolves away he got rid of that stupid fucking crusty ronald, this harshness isn't anything new
the situation with sancho is quickly escalating to the point the pfa have offered to help to resolve the issues, it's such a mess and no one knows the truth of what's going on other than sancho n ten hag

Paraformaldehyde (PFA) Prices Trend | Pricing | News | Database | Chart
Tumblr media
Paraformaldehyde (PFA) is a polymerized form of formaldehyde widely used across various industries, including agriculture, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and resins. The pricing dynamics of paraformaldehyde are shaped by multiple factors, including raw material costs, demand fluctuations, regional market trends, and macroeconomic conditions. Formaldehyde, the primary feedstock for paraformaldehyde production, is closely linked to methanol prices. As methanol experiences price volatility due to shifts in crude oil prices, natural gas availability, and geopolitical influences, the cost of paraformaldehyde also tends to fluctuate. Additionally, the production of paraformaldehyde is energy-intensive, making energy prices a significant determinant in its cost structure.
The agricultural sector constitutes a significant share of paraformaldehyde consumption, particularly as a raw material in the manufacturing of herbicides and pesticides. Seasonal demand for agricultural chemicals often influences paraformaldehyde prices, with peaks during planting seasons. The pharmaceutical industry also contributes to the demand for paraformaldehyde, where it is used in various medical applications, including as a disinfectant and in tissue fixation. Any increase in pharmaceutical activity, whether due to population growth or public health initiatives, can lead to heightened demand and a corresponding rise in paraformaldehyde prices.

Geographically, the paraformaldehyde market exhibits varying pricing trends influenced by regional production capacities, import-export dynamics, and local regulatory frameworks. For instance, Asia-Pacific, being a hub for chemical production, typically benefits from lower manufacturing costs due to economies of scale and the availability of raw materials. In contrast, markets in North America and Europe often face higher production costs due to stricter environmental regulations and higher labor costs. This regional disparity in production economics affects global trade flows, with Asia-Pacific emerging as a significant exporter of paraformaldehyde.
The rise in environmental awareness and regulatory pressures worldwide has also impacted the paraformaldehyde market. Producers are increasingly investing in sustainable and eco-friendly manufacturing processes to meet stringent emission norms. While these advancements contribute to long-term sustainability, they often result in higher short-term production costs, influencing paraformaldehyde prices. Furthermore, the market is witnessing a shift towards bio-based alternatives to paraformaldehyde, which could alter traditional pricing dynamics in the future.
Another critical aspect affecting paraformaldehyde prices is technological advancements in production processes. Innovations aimed at enhancing production efficiency and reducing waste have enabled some manufacturers to lower production costs, thereby offering competitive pricing. However, the adoption of advanced technologies often requires significant capital investment, which could act as a barrier for smaller players in the market. This technological divide creates a competitive landscape where larger players with advanced facilities dominate the market, influencing overall price trends.
The competitive landscape of the paraformaldehyde market also plays a pivotal role in determining prices. Leading manufacturers engage in strategic pricing to gain a competitive edge, often leveraging their scale of operations to offer more competitive rates. However, smaller players, lacking such economies of scale, may face challenges in maintaining profitability, especially during periods of price volatility. Mergers, acquisitions, and collaborations among key industry players also influence market dynamics, potentially leading to consolidation and altered pricing structures.
Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria are increasingly becoming a focal point for stakeholders in the paraformaldehyde market. Investors and consumers alike are prioritizing sustainable practices, prompting manufacturers to adopt cleaner production methods. While this shift enhances the market's long-term viability, it also introduces additional costs that may affect pricing in the short to medium term. Companies that proactively align their operations with ESG goals may face initial financial burdens but stand to gain in terms of brand reputation and market share.
Market forecasts indicate a steady growth trajectory for the paraformaldehyde industry, driven by its diverse applications and rising demand from emerging economies. Industrialization and urbanization in countries like India, China, and Brazil are creating new opportunities for paraformaldehyde manufacturers. As these markets expand, they are likely to contribute to increased global demand, potentially exerting upward pressure on prices. However, this growth is not without challenges, as economic slowdowns or trade restrictions in these regions could impact market dynamics.
Raw material availability and cost remain critical to the paraformaldehyde pricing structure. Any disruption in methanol supply, whether due to natural calamities or policy changes, directly impacts formaldehyde production, and by extension, paraformaldehyde prices. Additionally, the availability of alternative raw materials or substitutes could influence pricing trends. Research and development efforts aimed at identifying cost-effective and sustainable raw materials are gaining traction, which could shape future price trajectories.
In conclusion, the paraformaldehyde market operates within a complex framework of interrelated factors, each contributing to its pricing dynamics. From raw material costs and energy prices to regional market trends and regulatory pressures, the factors influencing paraformaldehyde prices are multifaceted. As the industry navigates challenges such as supply chain disruptions, technological advancements, and environmental regulations, stakeholders must remain agile to adapt to changing market conditions. The future of paraformaldehyde pricing will likely hinge on balancing the dual imperatives of economic efficiency and sustainability, ensuring the market's resilience amidst evolving global trends.

The Rise of the Underdogs: How This Football Team Shocked the World
In sports, there's nothing quite as captivating as a team considered an underdog defying the odds to achieve greatness. In the world of football, there have been countless instances of teams overcoming adversity and upsetting the established giants. One such story that continues to resonate in the football world is the rise of Leicester City in the English Premier League during the 2015-2016 season.
The Background
Leicester City Football Club, based in the East Midlands of England, had spent most of its history in the lower tiers of English football. Before the 2015-2016 season, Leicester had only been a top-flight club sporadically, with their best finish in the Premier League being 14th place. In fact, they had just avoided relegation the previous year, finishing 14th in the table. Their squad, though spirited, lacked the star power of the league's traditional powerhouses such as Manchester United, Chelsea, and Manchester City.
The 2015-2016 season, however, was something different. Under the management of Claudio Ranieri, a relatively seasoned but often dismissed coach, Leicester embarked on a journey that would change the landscape of English football.
The Key Ingredients
Leicester's success wasn't built on an abundance of wealth or superstar signings. Instead, it was a blend of tactical ingenuity, team chemistry, and players who played with a chip on their shoulders.
Teamwork Over Stars: Leicester’s squad wasn’t filled with expensive marquee players, but with hard-working, determined individuals who gelled together on the field. Key figures like Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez, and N'Golo Kanté proved that in football, the sum can be greater than its parts.
Jamie Vardy’s Story: Vardy’s rise was the epitome of the underdog story. He started his career playing for Stocksbridge Park Steels in the lower divisions before eventually being scouted by Leicester. In the 2015-2016 season, Vardy became one of the most lethal strikers in the Premier League, setting a new record for consecutive matches scored in (11) and finishing with 24 goals.
Riyad Mahrez’s Brilliance: Mahrez, the Algerian winger, was one of the most creative players in the league. His dribbling, vision, and composure in front of goal made him the driving force in Leicester’s attack, and he was instrumental in their surprise title push, eventually winning the PFA Player of the Year award.
N'Golo Kanté’s Midfield Dominance: Kanté was a revelation. His tireless running, interceptions, and work rate in the midfield allowed Leicester to transition quickly from defense to attack. His defensive contributions were critical in Leicester's ability to counter their more dominant opponents.
Claudio Ranieri’s Tactics: Ranieri's style of play was built on solid defense, quick transitions, and exploiting counter-attacks. The team was organized and disciplined, playing with a compact formation that frustrated opponents while allowing them to capitalize on their fast-paced forward play.
The Season That Shocked the World
Leicester City’s remarkable rise began to gain traction in the 2015-2016 season when they went on a 13-match unbeaten run early in the campaign. By the time January rolled around, they were firmly entrenched in the top four and began to dream of an unlikely title challenge.
What set Leicester apart was their consistency. While the bigger clubs faltered and failed to string together results, Leicester kept winning. They achieved crucial victories against traditional powerhouses like Manchester City, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur.
As the season drew to a close, Leicester maintained a tight grip on first place. Their final run included a thrilling 2-0 victory over Sunderland and a 4-0 demolition of Swansea. On May 2, 2016, the dream became reality: Leicester were crowned Premier League champions for the first time in the club’s history, with two games to spare.
The Significance of Leicester’s Victory
Leicester's 2015-2016 title victory was not just a remarkable achievement for the club but a defining moment for the Premier League and football in general. It proved that with the right combination of belief, tactics, and team unity, the impossible could be achieved. Leicester’s triumph showcased the power of a well-coached team over financial dominance, inspiring countless smaller clubs around the world that anything is possible.
It also shifted the narrative of the Premier League, where the expectation was always for the wealthier clubs to dominate. Leicester’s victory shattered that narrative and became a symbol of hope for teams with limited resources.
Aftermath and Legacy
Since their title win, Leicester City has continued to be a competitive force in the Premier League, regularly qualifying for European competitions. They have also made significant strides in terms of infrastructure and investment, ensuring that their title-winning season will be remembered not just as a fluke but as a cornerstone of their long-term ambition.
The impact of their underdog story can still be felt, as smaller clubs in major leagues continue to look to Leicester as proof that with the right approach, anything is possible in football. Leicester's rise serves as a reminder that the underdog can often become the victor, shocking the world and rewriting the rules of the game.
In conclusion, Leicester City’s 2015-2016 Premier League victory was more than just a surprise— it was a revolution in football, proving that the beautiful game has a place for everyone, no matter their size or stature. It was the ultimate rise of the underdog.
