Edelgard's Twin Crests came with inconvenients. Thankfully, the power of the Crest of Flames shielded her from most of the side effects of bearing two Crests, but caused another, more inconspicuous one :

Edelgard's body temperature was naturally higher than that of normal people.

It had no impact on her existence until late autumn rolled around during her year at the Officers' Academy and her classmates, used to warmer climates, noticed that she was a very convenient source of heat in the draughty Monastery.

Slight Edelthea and Petradetta, but it’s really not the focus of the text.

Edit : Ferdinand got punched in the original version, but I thought it was a tad too violent, so I edited it in him only getting smacked behind the head.

okay mortifying ordeal of fic writing aside... i’m nearly done with a fic that i’d started a while ago and i’m so happy with how it turned out. but the issue is that it’s for a very niche f/f pairing that only a handful of people care abt, meaning no one is gonna read it & i’m a little sad because i really am proud of it 😔

OK OK OK IM HERE WITH AN OTP HEADCANON. So! Probably. A niche one. Petradetta. Petra used to braid Bernie's hair during their academy days and was super upset when she cut it post timeskip, but in typical Petra fashion she just adapted like a #girlboss and found new ways to braid Bernie's hair. Bernie also gives her tons of plants and embroiders her clothes for her. tons of little plants and arrows and hearts. Bernie also totally made them stuffed bears of each other so they can always be together <3

aww i love that! bernie does seem like someone who struggles with her hair (this is entirely based on hopes) and i can see petra lovingly doing her hair for her <3 i can also see petra proudly showing off her little embroidered patch that bernie made for her :) perhaps she would even learn about brigid culture and do a brigid-related design for petra! ty for sharing ❤️
