Happy Hispanic heritage month!!!! AND** DÍA DE LA INDEPENDENCIA DE MÉXICO 🇲🇽

As you know, I’m very very proud of being Mexican. I really am. And I project such proudness on my ocs. Tadaa theres petra right there 🇲🇽❤️

I am proud of my background. I’m proud of my family’s background and our home country. Our traditions our cultures are so important and dear to us. Hispanic culture is so rich and diverse and I want to acknowledge that all Hispanic culture is BEAUTIFUL.

I’m happy I have at least a small platform to share my culture through my ocs, my ocs mean the world to me. I am no longer ashamed of my heritage as I was before when I was younger WISHING I was something different.

Of course there are times where I am treated rather differently bc of my background,I acknowledge that but I don’t blame it upon my identity.

I’m proud and I’m happy and I’ll forever say that I’m MEXICAN. This also goes out to tomorrow which is Mexican Independence Day 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽 VIVA MEXICO Happy Hispanic heritage month!!!!!!

HAPPY HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH🇲🇽

Yes . I am a whole week late.. I’ve been getting side tracked..ANYWAY

happy hispanic heritage month to all my Hispanics out there, I’m truly am proud of my heritage, my culture, and where I come from. When I was younger I often wondered why most characters didn’t look like me, maybe I was watching the wrong tv shows lmao but I did wonder why. Of course when I would see a character that was Mexican, and embraced and embedded the culture with the character, I was overcome with joy. Someone who is like me. Someone who eats and celebrates like me. Someone who speaks and talks the same language as me. My culture being represented in media.

Now I will admit, Young me wanted to fit in a typical “American” lifestyle. I wanted to look whiter, I wanted lighter eyes, I wanted lighter hair. I didn’t want to sound funny with an accent due to me learning English. I often rejected who i was and where I came from. I was ashamed, i was ignorant, i was young- I just wanted to fit the American image. As I grew older, I realized what was truly in front of me, who I was.

When I started making ocs, I wanted to heal my inner child. That and represent, and show off my culture. I made my Nuestros ocs.

I know you may find it silly and weird that I express myself this way but, I care. I care a lot. Its who I am.

I’m proud, I really am, of what I made my characters to represent.

Thank you if you read this, it means a lot. Absolutely a lot and I’m sorry for the long post.
