My favorite film ever, after Jurassic Park and my favorite Kong of all. What a masterpiece. When I first saw Peter Jackson’s King Kong in the theatre as a 10 year old, I was captivated beyond belief. The sense of awe and grandeur that this film has is second to none. A beautiful love letter to the 1933 original and a worthy remake. There are so many great things that I can say about this film. It was an absolutely wonderful process drawing this epic beast once again. To think that I was obsessively drawing him in school everyday during classes, is quite surreal when I see myself doing this as a day job now ✍️🦍. “It wasn’t the airplanes. “Is that a monkey...?” 🦍 This guy took a lot of time to draw. Many textures, different forms of hair, clumps, that bushy beard, basically loads of details ✍️. I also hurt my back and couldn’t do anything for a few days. Proved to be a setback. Not being able to draw really sucks, I hate it, lol. I’ve said this before. I was reserved when it came to the Monsterverse Kong design, but it eventually grew on me a lot. Now I absolutely love it, especially the new 2021 adult version.
