My Black history So here I am in the Favela of Brazil (which In love) with my partner of 30 years Doc B as we shoot another video with kaos MC for a track he is doing with British Soul great Noel Mckoy featuring Duendy and Bull Dogg. But where did It start? I started years before i cut my first record at 10 years old. The group I was in when I cut that first record was called 'The Ellis 5' heavily influenced by the Jackson 5, lovers Rock and Reggae we cut the track 'Misty Morning' The Ellis 5 consisted of my two sisters and two of my 6 brothers. I played drums and sang. That was our one and only recording. While the rest of the fam went on to pursue other things I stayed in the music game. Between now and then I've had chart success in over 15 countries including the UK in several genres from dance to pop, reggae soul etc. I've worked with all my idols except Michael Jackson although I've worked with other members of his family. I've performed for millions and work with the best in the world. I've made history, broken down boundaries and crossed several genres. I've been so broke I was homeless and so rich I could not spend the money. I've had dreams crushed and dreams realised. I can honestly say I've achieved all of be musical childhood dreams. Perhaps at the cost of some other dreams. Would I change anything. Yes. I wish I could have been wiser quicker. I trusted too much because i just love the music i love what I do. But besides that I'm happy with whom I am despite my many faults and mistakes made. My journey has been amazing 10 books in the writing. I have lived and will die living hence my stance on covid-19 and all it entails. I did not come this far too live in lockdown, chipped up and controlled by any new world order. So here I am still living my dream and still helping others realise their dreams. Here in Brazil making music for you all. It's Black History month And, at a time when so much history is being questioned and we are learning about all the lies taught in schools I can only be sure about my history, my history as a black man. We performed twice for Prince Harry and Prince William. By special request form young Princess. I don't know why we were even allowed as hip hop and rap was frowned upon then. We were the only black act at both events, the only rap act and we turned it out as we always did.
