A center for Japanese film in New York City since the 1970s, Japan Society has previously welcomed cinema greats including Akira Kurosawa, Toshiro Mifune, Hideko Takamine, and Nobuhiko Obayashi.

Anime NYC 2021 - All the Feelings

I'm intrigued at J-Novel Club and Yen Press' ventures into audiobooks. I don't necessarily read most of their stuff, but I like to see what comes out of it.

I think Azuki is doing a cool thing in promoting the works of the other small manga publishers, Star Fruit Books, SOZO Comics and Glacier Bay Books.

Viz Media and Kodansha USA should have substantial booths at next year's Anime NYC and/or beyond. Viz had nothing at the event compared to New York Comic-Con. And Kodansha only had the Attack on Titan manga exhibit. With how hard it is to get manga in print lately, it's a big boost for everyone if they could sell the hot titles that fans wanted. Of course, with how hard it is to get manga in print nowadays (i.e. not enough books to possibly match the demand), that could be a reason why they didn't do Anime NYC.

There's part of my commentary that sounds like I dislike industry people (I could be wrong though). I actually do like being around them (i.e. I did say that I could listen to Carl Horn all day). I find them to be cool people once you really get to know them. There's just a part of me that's been listening to more stories about regular people and I realize that I've learned a bunch about life from them than experts at times. So I would like to try to become this observer/recorder of fans and Artists' Alley, not just industry folks.
