Brief Description: You're tired and your boyfriend's making sure you're getting to sleep.

Point of View: 2nd Person

It was movie night, like every Friday night, and you and your boyfriend had just sat down to pick something to watch.

As your boyfriend was scrolling through your movie options, out of the corner of his eyes he saw you yawn. He smiles like a lovesick fool at how cute you look when tired.

Turning to you, he chuckles quietly asking, "Tired, baby?"

"Extremely," you reply in a soft voice, leaning against his side.

He throws an arm over your shoulders, pulling you onto his lap. You shift slightly, trying to find a comfortable position before you lean your head against his chest.

"What time did you go to bed last night?" he asks you softly, brushing your hair out of your eyes.

You shrug, answering, "I don't know."

He rolls his eyes affectionately at you, pressing his lips to your temple, which only causes you to melt into his embrace more.

"What was the last time you saw on the clock?" your boyfriend rephrases his question.

Your eyebrows furrow together in thought, your boyfriend's heart melts just a little bit more at the sight. God, you're gorgeous.

He never thought he could fall in love before, let alone this in love. Every little thing you've done and will continue to do since he met you has only made his heart beat stronger for you.

"One twenty ... something," you respond.

Your boyfriend's arms tighten around you, holding you closer as he asks in worry, "You went to bed that late?"

With a small giggle, you reply, "I went to bed like two hours after that."

He makes a sound between a sigh and a laugh, bringing you closer to his chest as he presses a series of kisses to your face.

"Baby, you need to sleep more," he gently scolds you, smiling down at you with that same lovesick smile.

"I know," you whisper back, nuzzling your face into his chest.

Getting a sudden idea, your boyfriend twists around on the couch, laying down across it as he settles you onto his chest.

"How about we play the movie as background noise so you can sleep?" he suggests, running his hand through your hair as you snuggle deeper into his chest.

"Sounds good," you mumble, yawning once more.

He kisses the top of your head, clicking on your favourite movie as his arms encircle your waist, keeping you close.

"I love you," he mutters, nuzzling his face into your hair, smiling at the smell of your shampoo.

God, he was whipped.

"I love you too, sweetheart," you mumble back, closing your eyes as the feeling of your boyfriend's finger running through her hair and the warmth of his embrace lulls you to sleep.

“darling.”

you smiled, extending your hand out to reach the body of the person who spoke, trying to cuddle into their side more. you expect to feel warmth. you expect to feel a person. because, it’s something you’re used too. so, when you feel the cold material of the bed next to you, which hasn’t been slept in, your eyes shoot open. you hope. pray. that it’s just a terrible dream. you want to see his brown eyes looking back at you, with so much love in them. you want to see, him.

but, you don’t. because peter is dead.

it’s been a month now since...he left, and each morning you can hear him. you can feel his presence. but, when you act upon it, the feeling goes. it’s like he was never here in the first place. well, he was never here.

wiping your eyes, from any signs of sleep as well as sadness, you stood up walking out of the tent, immediately smiling at the smell of fresh food, being cooked by fry. walking over, you couldn’t help but freeze, as you caught a glimpse of peter’s name carved in the rock.

“morning, y/n. sleep well?” brenda ran up to you. everyone’s been trying to keep you busy. keep you happy. try and stop you from thinking about peter. but, even though you try, you can’t help but let the thoughts rush back.

“yeah, i did thanks,” you mumbled, smiling slightly, “did you?”

“yeah.” she smiled, looking behind you. turning around, you followed her line of vision to thomas, glancing back at her, chuckling slightly.

“is he treating you well?”

she looked back at you, suddenly, cheeks blushing slightly, “yeah. so well. but, i can tell he thinks about her though.”

her. teresa. you nodded, “he will think about her for a while, brenda. but, i know he cares about you. and he loves you a lot.”

“yeah, i know,” she beamed, but her smile fell, “he’s not sleeping though.”

“why?” you inquired.

“he’s worried.”

“about what?”

“you,” she replied, simply, “y/n, we can hear you crying, every night. of course he’s going to be worried about his younger sister.”

tears started to well up in your eyes, as she spoke. you didn’t mean to make people worried about you. but, sometimes the nightmares get too much. they become...too real.

“he shouldn’t be worried though,” you scoffed, “i’m fine.”

“your not alone in this. if you just talk to us, we can help-“

“brenda,” you snapped, “i’m fine. i promise.”

her eyes went wide, at your sudden anger, before she nodded.

“i’m sorry,” you whispered, guilt flooding you, “i’m okay.”

“okay.” she grinned, but you could tell she wasn’t fully convinced.

you were about to help yourself to some breakfast, but brenda stopped you, “newt got you breakfast. it’s over there with him.”

she nodded her head towards to fire pit, where your friends were sat, eating and laughing with each other. smiling at her slightly, you left, walking towards them all, before sitting in between newt and minho.

“here. get this down ya shank.” newt spoke, handing you a plate of food.

“god, i haven’t heard you say that in a while, newt,” you laughed, shaking your head slightly at the glade slang, “makes me think about the maze.”

“do you ever think about it?” newt inquired, as you took a bite out of your bacon. even though he looked at you, he was aiming the question at everyone.

minho shrugged, “we never thought we would get out. now look as us. we’re finally free...from everything.”

“yeah, that’s all thanks to thomas!” fry laughed, nodding at him.

thomas looked up at the sound of his name, frowning slightly.

“hey! i helped!” minho screeched.

“so did newt! and y/n!” gally shouted, pointing at you both, while you and newt rolled your eyes.

“everyone helped!” you laughed, shaking your head at the boy’s uproar.

“gotta say y/n, you being the only girl in the maze, caused way more disagreements than this.” fry commented.

“why?”

“we all tried to get your attention, 24/7!” gally chuckled.

“even you gally? thought you hated me.” you spoke, eyes wide in surprise.

he shook his head, “nah.”

“we all wanted to be super close with you,” minho teased, laughing.

“yeah, but no one could be as close to y/n as peter.”

you know fry was just trying to add things into the conversation. you know he wasn’t trying to make you upset. it’s not like everyone is banned from every saying peter’s name. however, peter hasn’t crossed your mind for the first time, in a month. you were finally...happy. so, you couldn’t help but freeze at the sound of his name, as your throat started to close up, before your friends around you, fell silent.

“fry!” newt gritted, anger all over his face. he hasn’t seen you laugh like that, in a while. and it made him so happy to see it. but, now, all he saw was heartache, written across your face.

“shit, i’m so sorry, y/n. i didn’t mean to make you upset.” fry panicked, as his heart dropped at the sight of fresh tears, welling up in your eyes.

“no, fry, it’s okay. i’m okay.”

“liar.” you thought.

you saw thomas glance at brenda quickly, who only walked over a few minutes ago, before looking back at you, leaning over to press his hand on yours, “y/n.”

you stood up abruptly at his action. the last time someone did that to you, with the same place they put their hand, to the way they spoke your name, was peter.

“i’ve just remembered that erm harriet, wanted me to help her with something. so i’m going to go. t-thanks for breakfast.” you croaked, and without another glance you turned away, walking towards your tent to calm your breathing. harriet didn’t really need you. you just needed to get away.

“y/n!”

you sighed, as you heard your brother shout your name, getting closer to you, before his arm landed on your shoulder; he turned you around to face him. he pouted, as he saw your bloodshot eyes, “are you okay?”

“i-i’m fine.”

your not fine. you never will be.

“p-people aren’t banned from saying-“

you were cut off by a heavy sob, as you completely broke down into harsh tears in-front of your brother. you felt his wrap his arms around you, as you weeped into his chest.

“i-i don’t know what to do,” you croaked, between tears, “i-i can’t do a-anything without him.”

“i know.” thomas hushed, stroking your hair.

“i l-love him.”

you felt thomas nod above you, “and he loves you. so much. but, y/n, you can’t live like this. he wouldn’t want you to do this.”

you leant back, looking down at the floor while thomas wiped away a few fresh tears from your cheek.

“what do i do then?” you questioned.

“live.”

you looked up, tears falling at his words.

“i know it sounds harsh, but he would want you to live. live the life you were supposed to have, even if he was here or not. after, teresa died, i thought i would never be able to do anything. but, when brenda helped me, through everything, i found something which made life worth living. it doesn’t mean i’ve forgot about teresa, or moved on from her. i’ve just done, what i know she would want me to do. live.” thomas spoke, as he rubbed your arms gently.

“but, there’s no one else.”

“there’s one person.” he shrugged.

“who?”

“newt.”

your eyes went wide at his words. you would of never expected him to say your bestfriend.

“w-what if i don’t love him, in that way?”

“that’s fine.” he smiled.

“what if, i never love him?”

“that’s also fine. you just need someone. to help you live. why don’t you go to the beach and i’ll get newt to come over, to talk. yeah?”

you nodded, about to turn away before you placed a hand on your brothers chest, “thank you, thomas. for everything.”

“i don’t want you to be sad anymore, y/n.” he smiled, before he walked away to newt.

“hey,” newt spoke, sitting next to you on the sand, “tommy said you wanted to speak to me. what’s up?”

turning away from the ocean, you glanced at newt, “how long?”

his brows furrowed, “how long what?”

“have you loved me?”

your saw his eyes widen, as he was taken aback by your question. he glanced at the sand, before looking back at you, “since you came up in the box.”

that was...years ago. but, as you thought about it, it all made perfect sense.

in the maze, he was helping you with everything. whether that be from if you were stressed about being a second commander, to helping you with your feelings with peter. he was there.

and now, in the safe haven, newt is always there. he constantly makes you smile. or try’s to anyway. whatever time of the day it is, or if he’s busy or not, he will stop and wrap his arms around you, as you sob into his chest. he doesn’t care though.

because, he loves you.

“i don’t want to force you into anything though, y/n. i know it will take you a while. i understand that. but, i’m always here for you. as a best friend or more.” he spoke, brining you out of your thoughts.

“i’m scared that i will never be able to love you, the same way you love me.”

he smiled, “i know i’m not peter. i’ll never be peter. but, i just hope i can finally make you happy. which is what you deserve.”

you placed your hand on his, making him gasp slightly, as you looked at the ocean.

“he would want you to be happy, y/n. always.”

looking back, you were about to reply, but behind newt you saw a glowing figure stood, watching you. glancing to look at the figure, your heart dropped, at the sight of peter, who was beaming widely at you.

“it’s okay,” peter whispered, nodding his head, “i want you to be happy.”

then you blinked and...he was gone.

"Peter!"

Voice hoarse, you were desperately limping to the spider boy.

What the hell is happening?

What did Thanos do?

Your breath went up and down, the need for oxygen was enormous. But, you couldn't, you couldn't take a deep breath, it was too painful.

You took another step, the dry ground underneath you cracked. The eerie sound of rusting metal made you dread what will come.

Dust particles flew around them.

Not him too.

Your helmet was long gone, anyway what was left of it. Quickly pushing it away when he escaped. It was maybe 30 minutes, when that happend. You took a seat on a piece of rock and bide your time, hoping that whoever fought on Earth was winning.

You accepted it, your finger traced the wound on your leg in anticipation. Maybe then, the pain would stop. Your dad, Tony walked up to you with the help of Peter and swatted your finger away.

You could read his face easily.

Anxious, worried, mad these three emotions were swirling in his head.

"If you dare to touch that wound again, I'm selling all your stuff."

"No you don't." Nothing else could came out of your throat.

The two of you tried to smile eachother but it turned into a grimace. Quickly he gave a peck on the crown of your head, but the wound on his side didn't agreed with it.

"Stop- Dad! You're hurting yourself!"

"Stop talking," he ordered and with a big sigh he continued "I'm too good for this world". He turned his gaze to the wound, to examanize it, to analyse it, to heal it. He wiped away the blound on the corner of his mouth, he had to help you first. Tony had to find a way to heal you, find away to get the task out of his head otherwise he wouldn't know if you would survive it.

He wouldn't know if he would survive it to live without you or Peter. He didn't know if they could ever return to Earth.

Maybe they had to spend their slenting days on this planet.

He tried to think about something else, tried not to look at your wounds, at Peters wounds but that's everything he could see. Everthing was red, spilled with the blood of you two.

No, he couldn't lose you.

He couldn't.

So, he didn't tried to remove the piece of moon that got stuck in your leg, in fear that would cause an unimaginable blood loss.

Your breath was quick to quick for his liking. He blinked his tears away and saw that yours too were watery.

"Does it hurt?" He softly touched the side of your neck, his heart was making loopholes.

You hummed in pain, wiping away the blood on your cheekbone. You could hear Peter talk with a tensed voice.

The pain was overbearing, voices were distorting and you swore there were stars clouding your vision.

"Something's happening," Mantis whispered a warning.

You whipped your head and instead of Mantis, you saw a bile of dust flying away.

Oh my God, you were going crazy.

Then, Drax, Peter Quill and Dr. Strange followed.

Your eyes widened.

Scared were you.

No, terrified.

If you could scream, you would have done that.

Peter wasn't at your side anymore, he walked away. His breath was becoming deeper and deeper over the next couple of seconds and he folded his arms around his ribcase, he looked.. a bit sick.

"Mr. Stark?" He called out, Tony tore his gaze away from you and looked at Peter. With pain in your body, you shot yourself up, panic fueling adrenaline kicking in.

"I don't feel so good," wobbling at his feet he was looking at his hands. A couple of tears fell on the boy's cheeks.

Walking up to his mentor, no his father he stammered something out. He was looking for reasurrance, that it would be alright.

But, it wouldn't.

"You're alright," Tony's lie was a poorly covered up one.

Peter stepped forward, "I don't, I don't know what's happening. I don't-"

He fell in Tony's arms and clamped his arms around him like a scared child, he held Tony fast with a tight grip. He didn't want to slip away, Tony gripped him equally tight.

You took a step forward and then the next.

"Peter!"

He was frightened.

It was quiet to quiet, for your liking. Only the buzz in your ears, the pleading from Peter and the soft sniffling from Tony was all that you could hear.

Tony softly laid him on the ground, you practically ran towards him. You didn't care that a piece of rock tore up your leg, you just wanted to go to him, to Peter.

On your knees you pushed away the curls from his forehead, he stared at nothingness for a second. He locked eyes with yours, turned his gaze away and looked at Tony.

He wanted something to say to the two of you, His arm, that was around Tony's shoulder dusted away.

"I'm sorry."

Turning his head, he looked at nothing again.

Slowly turning to dust.

You touched the place where he laid, but all you felt was dust.

"Peter!" you whailed.

Your dad engulfed you in a hug, trying to calm your grief, trying to calm his grief.

He lost Peter, he couldn't lose you.

A cry tore your vocal cords, laced with anguish and grief.

"No, not him. Not him, not him," you stammered out over and over again.

Tony rocked the two of you, patting the backside of your head.

You felt droplets in your hair, the both of you trying to calm down the other. You hugged your father, finding an anchor to hold on to.

He is still alive.

That's a positive sign right?

Pain is good, pain is life.

Sobbing again, you hugged him even tighter.

"What the fuck happend?"

"I don't know, I don't know."

Laying down your cheek on Tony's shoulder, you stared at the rusty fundments, should that have been buildings what Thanos talked about?

You wiggled your fingers, they felt strange. Then a hit of numbness and tingling shot up in your hands, mouth dropping to a frown you spoke alarmed.

"Dad-dad."

He pushed you softly away and looked you in the eye, you looked everywhere than his.

"My fingers-my hands. My hands are numb," your voice was higher than ever, panic laced in your voice. "My hands are numb."

Your hands were vanishing.

You freezed up, you could only watch your arms slowly disintegrating.

I'm going to die, I'm going to die.

I don't want to.

"I'm scared, dad. I'm scared, I don't want to-"

Tony hugged you again, a peck placing on your forehead.

Tears streamed down your cheeks.

"It's okay, sweetheart, just let go-"

"I'm scared."

You sniffled and a watery cough escaped your throat.

You turned your gaze away from Nebula, who stood a couple of meters away, then your eyes became glassy.

Turned to dust.

Tony doubled forward, catching the leftover dust that was supposed to be you.

When a child loses their parents, people will call them an orphan.

But what do they call parents who lost their child?

What do they call Tony now?

Disorientated he sat again, looking at his hands.

Empty.

That's what he felt.

"He did it," Nebula whispered, perhaps to no one.

Hunching foreward, he slowly shook his head and folded his hands around his chin.
