i've just thought of a fanfic idea for the obra dinn, but i need a little help in figuring out what the plot should be
so basically, a member of the Obra Dinn (dead or alive) either willingly or unwillingly have to go back in time and save the ship
i've seen a couple where the inspector goes back, but not one with the members i think
here are the members i would find most interesting going back in time (spoilers under the cut)
in no particular order:
-Charles Hershtik, Thomas Lanke and/or Peter Milroy: first off, the midshipmen deserved better. secondly, they deserve the chance to save the ship to be together again. it would probably be angstier if only one of them goes back (probably lanke) and the other two wouldn't know what's going on
-Martin Perrott: mostly because of the fact it's martin, like the man had the best intentions out of everyone, wishing for the mermaid to bring the obra dinn back to england.
-Robert Whitterel: the man deserves a second chance. by The End, he's a flawed and broken man, devastated by the death of his wife and his crew. i feel like to would be cathartic to his character to have another shot at saving everybody
-William Hoscut: again, for probably the same reasons as the Captain. he's lived through hell and back, loses his sister, then he gets shot by his brother-in-law. ouch.
-Henry Brennan: i dont really have a reason for him, just wanna see funky beanie man do funky things. (headcanon that he's friends with hoscut, since they stick together for a bunch of the scenes)
-Henry Evans: being one of the two owners of the Memento Mortem (that we know of), he'd probably feel the same as a lot of players feel, watching his friends die over and over, and can't do anything to stop it.
and finally,
-Edward Nichols: hear me out. it'd be funny lmao. jokes aside, it'd be so satisfying for him to be the one who saves the Obra Dinn, as he was the one who doomed it in the first place. he would probably be forced to save her at first, to keep his life, but maybe (just maybe) he would change, given another chance
that's my pick, do you all have any characters that would be interesting to play around in this scenario? let me know!
#return of the obra dinn spoilers#return of the obra dinn#obra dinn#i am having so many thoughts about the murder sudoku game

UK NHS top surgery waiting times
UPDATE MAY 2020: all waiting times given below are subject to reconfirmation due to the impact of coronavirus on surgical resources. We’re not aware of any NHS top surgeries being definitively scheduled at the current time, but we welcome updates from any followers who have had contact with surgeons since April/May 2020!
Waiting times from the surgeon’s office receiving your referral to your surgery date, accurate to the best of our knowledge as of February 2020. Please note that top surgeon waiting times can change quite quickly and those below are estimates, so might vary by a month or two. If you’re seeing this post via a reblog, please check the original post for updates. If you have any updates, can fill in blanks, or know of other surgeons regularly operating, please get in touch!
Note on private surgeons: we don’t currently keep track of surgeons, costs and waiting times for private surgery, as we find these tend to be more difficult to keep up to date and we have very limited resources. If this changes in the future we will put a separate list of private surgeon details on our resources page.
Note on ‘unknown’ waiting times: The main reason we might list a waiting time as ‘unknown’ is if the most recent verifiable information we can find is more than about 6 months old. As waiting times can change quite quickly, old estimates may be inaccurate and misleading so we would prefer you to know that we don’t have recent info. In some cases we might also be unable to confirm whether a surgeon is currently taking on NHS-funded patients. If there’s a surgeon on this list who you are very keen on but we don’t have any information, our best advice is that you contact their office directly (usually this information is quite readily found on the internet).
Philip Drew (Cornwall): unknown.
Antony Fitton (Plymouth): 4 months (3 months to consultation).
Peter Kneeshaw, Brendan Wooler, Kartikae Grover, Constantinos Demetriou (Hull team): 10-14 months (8-10 months to consultation). Kneeshaw is at the longer end of this estimate, Wooler and Grover are at the shorter end.
Grit Dabritz, Ioannis Ntanos, Kate Williams (Manchester team): 20-24 months (10-12 months to initial consultation). More information on process here.
Andy Mellington (Brighton): 6-8 months (5 months to consultation).
Catherine Milroy (London): unknown.
Robert Morris (Plymouth): 4 months (3 months to consultation).
Victoria Rose (London): unknown.
David Ross (Brighton): 7-9 months (6 months to consultation).
Philip Rubin (Newcastle): unknown.
Thangasamy Sankar (Kettering): 9 months (3-4 months to consultation)
Andrew Yelland (Torquay): unknown.

Celebrating 60 Years of the John Moore's Painting Prize
The competition first came to be in 1957 and is named after Sir John Moores who sponsered the prize, the competition is held at The Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool every two years and forms a key part in the Liverpool Biennial. The exhibtion itself is held in partnership with the John Moores Liverpool Exhibition Trust and although the exhibtion is prone to change over the years the main message and intent is clear: to support artists and bring together the best contemporary artists across the Uk.
Over the many years the entry criteria for the prize has changed; Until 1965, as well as a painting category there was also one for sculpture, french and ‘junior’ artists. However, from 1965 sculptures, kinetics, watercolours and graphic art were excluded in favour of painting.
Each and every category in the prize had its own structure and award, but every exhibtion as a whole has an overall prize winner. Now, the first prize is awarded £25,000 and an additional four prizes of £2,500 and a Visitors Choice Prize which in 2018 was £2,018.
"The John Moores is one of the most prestigious art competitions in the UK and winning the Junior Prize in 1961 is one of the achievements of which I am most proud." Sir Peter Blake, artist.
( Lisa Milroy, Handles, 1989, oil on canvas, 190.5x211cm, Walker Art Gallery)
Becoming a winner of the prize in 1989, I have to say this peice by Milroy is one of my favourites. Handles is an abstract depiction of lines and dots in moments of formed detail and pattern; the placement of the ‘handles’ depends on different cataloging and placing that Milroy chooses.Without the use of colour, it unifies the handles as a group, but they also invite individual consideration.
They are not real handles only depictions. They emphasise the idea of touching or pulling with a recognition of the formal structures of presentation. It makes the veiwers gaze weave in and out of the ‘handles’.
