today i saw a reel that said "my life is like lara jean before she dated peter kavinsky" and that sums me up perfectly

there is something so hilarious to me about the way peter kavinsky

lets lara jean kiss him completely out of the blue

seeks out her company (see: milkshakes in the diner)

suggests the whole fake dating thing unprompted

goes out of his way for her (see: yakult)

suggests he writers her notes every day and then writes her *actual* notes instead of just pretending/writing something generic

continually finds excuses to keep the scheme going (ski trip)

increases the stakes by involving other people - getting to know her family and introducing her to his own, as well as his friends

goes along with her contract and her various requirements to the scheme, even if they don't particularly serve him (e.g. no kissing rule)

and lara jean still thinks he's completely in love with gen and her crush on him is entirely unrequited. girl????

Thinking about how Lara Jean walked on the lacrosse field to tell Peter she wanted to fake date him towards the beginning and ending the movie with her walking up to Peter on the same field to tell him how she felt so she could start real dating him.

Summary: You and Peter write and discuss the rules of your fake relationship.

Authors note: This is my first post things might be misspelled so please bear with me. Deeply inspired by to all the boys I loved before except no letters and Peter is a basketball player instead of lacrosse (sorry). Please tell me what you guys think! Thank you!

You and Peter were fake dating. And are currently talking about the rules right now at school. We walk towards the bleachers sitting down.

“Okay what are the rules?” Peter says

“We can’t tell anyone about this arrangement.” You say.

“Right, that one is obvious." He nods his head, leaning against the metal of the bleachers. "What else?

“You have to drive me to school.” You say.

“And after school. That’s easy enough, I’m always going home." He then says some of his rules.

"And you’ll go to my basketball games, right?” He says.

“Yes if you can take me there.” You say.

“Of course I can take you, babe." He grins, playfully using the pet name.

You roll my eyes at him. “Anything else?”

He laugh at your eye roll, pretending to be hurt. "Aw, don’t roll your eyes at me. Can I have one more thing?”

“Sure” You say.

He smirks, eyes flickering with mischief. "Can I put my arm around you in public?”

“Yes.” You say.

He scoot closer to you, wrapping his arm around your shoulders and pulling you against him. "Good. Now you’re really my fake girlfriend.”

You start to write down the rules for this arrangement making a contract and write two lines at the bottom sighing your name on one of them.

He watches as you write the contract, his arm still wrapped around you. He peek at the list, raising an eyebrow at the contract part. "A contract? Are you really going to sign that?”

“Yes” you say seriously.

He lets out a chuckle, amused by your seriousness. "You're so dedicated to this fake dating thing. Are you sure you're not enjoying this a little too much?”

“Are you sure you are?” You tease.

He pretends to think about it for a moment, a smirk playing on his lips. "Maybe I am. You're not too bad as a fake girlfriend, you know.”

You push the paper for him to sign giving him a pen.

He take the pen and signs his name on the contract, a grin spreading across his face. "Now it's official. We're fake dating, babe.”

You grimace and write another rule. *No calling me babe*

He pouts, feigning disappointment. "Aww, come on. It was cute. And it's part of the boyfriend experience.”

“You can call me sweetheart then.” You say smoothly.

He rolls his eyes playfully, but a smile tugs at the corners of his lips. "Fine, sweetheart it is then. But you have to call me darling.”

“Fine darling.” You smile playfully.

You and Peter are doing this arrangement for two reason one to make his ex girlfriend jealous and you to avoid your neighbor who has a crush on you but can’t take a hint.

Peter is aware of your situation with your neighbor, and it amuses him a little. “So you're using me to get your neighbor off your back, huh?” He grins. "I guess I'm just a convenient shield, sweetheart.”

“And you’re using me to get back with your ex.” You say in the same accusing tone.

He chuckles and nods, not bothering to deny it. "Guilty as charged. But hey, I get to spend time with a pretty girl while doing it. So I'm not complaining.”

You roll your eyes and then see your neighbor josh looking and walking towards both of you and panic kissing peter.
