no actually because the spidernoir comics published after 2010 don't exist!
Your noir!mj is everything. She deserved so much more than Just love interest laser beam. Like there's so much she could add to the story and I love her
I know!!! It’s insane to just reduce her to only a love interest when she’s such a compelling character. Idk why fun characters who can have agency and will to shape the world and narrative are just never given the chance. It makes for a better story??? But whatever. I have no clue what happens behind the scenes of comic stuff so I don’t even know who to point a finger at LMAO

Don’t Let Go (ii)
Word Count: 2.1k
Summary: One incident after another, and Fate and Coincidence aren’t sure how to cooperate with each other.
Warnings: Death of side character (it’s real obvious if u know anything about spider-man), mentions of bullying, there’s an argument and people are sad sometimes
Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 - Part 4
A sharp note rang out. It was loud, nearly unbearable. When Fate first heard it, she felt her stomach twist. It was that kind of sound; a sound that shook fear within you and created an air of unease.
It was only a few moments later when Fate heard screams. They hung in the air, begging for people to listen. This is what caught her attention. With a wave of her hand, she allowed a view of the atrocity to form before her.
There sat May and Peter Parker, watching as paramedics surrounded Ben. Peter held May as they both sobbed shamelessly. Red and blue lights scattered across the scene and reflected on their faces. Worried neighbors and terrified friends sat in silence as police asked them questions.
“The poor kid,” Coincidence sounded from behind Fate. She shook her head and turned to meet his eyes.
“Did you have anything to do with this?” Fate asked. She wasn’t accusatory, and she didn’t attempt to be. She knew his answer already.
“No, I was busy,” Coincidence replied. This was not the answer Fate was expecting. Looking back on it in that moment, she realized she should have known by his level of ease, how he knew that he could’ve done nothing.
“Can I know what you were doing?” Fate turned to look at the scene again. Peter’s face was red, and his breaths were quick.
“I was helping some homeless kids. There just so happened to be a very nice woman who brought them food and clothes,” Coincidence answered with a shrug. Fate nodded and felt Coincidence walk up beside her. “I’m hoping that’ll give me a free pass?” He said with a small lilt in his voice.
“Coincidence, you have a busy job. I can’t expect you to try to save Peter at every turn. I just hope the poor kid won’t have any mental trauma after this,” Fate said. She brought her hands up to her neck and began to fiddle with the silver necklace around her neck. She had a feeling that this death may have been her own fault as well. Coincidence recognized the nervous mannerism and reached a hand up to rub Fate’s shoulder comfortingly.
“He’ll be okay,” He whispered as he looked on at the image of Peter and May.
—————
Y/n sat in her room, impatiently tapping on the edge of the book she was reading. She could just barely hear the sirens that still sat outside, and Peter had yet to write anything else. She cut it down to coincidence, but part of her still felt her heart being tugged to concern.
She had a television in the corner of her room turned on for background noise. However, the sound of the Breaking News jingle caught her attention. She looked over to see a woman with black hair and a white suit appear on the screen. Her face was solemn, and Y/n already knew what this would be about.
“Benjamin Parker, age 38, was murdered this evening after a burglar broke into his house. According to witnesses, the murderer is said to be a white male with blonde hair, around 5 feet 10 inches, and 160 pounds.” A rough illustration popped up on the screen next to the reporter. Y/n studied it, but had no recognition of the man, “If you see anyone who matches this description, please call the police and bring justice to this terrible situation. Back to your regularly scheduled news program,” The woman, Sarah Tremay as the scrolling bar below said, vanished off of the screen and was soon replaced by a weather report.
Y/n was frozen as she watched the screen continue to show to regular news. She knew a Parker. She couldn’t remember his first name for the life of her, but the last name Parker was familiar. Then she remembered, Parker was a boy in her grade. She didn’t have any classes with him, but the incessant bullying from Flash made everyone know his last name.
“Poor kid,” She whispered to herself. She looked down again at her arm where her soulmate had written his last message. It was still unfinished, and the slash across her skin stared at her unforgivingly. She grabbed the pen nearest to her and wrote out a message. It was simple enough, but she never got an answer back.
Are you okay?
—————
“Did you hear about what happened to Ben Parker?” Was about the only thing Y/n heard as she walked through Midtown High. After all, he was all over the news. The all too recognizable and kind face was brought to the forefront of everyone’s minds. Soon enough, Y/n’s friend appeared beside her, asking the same question everyone else was asking.
“Of course I heard about him, Sam,” She said to the blonde girl who shifted nervously on her feet beside her.
“God, it’s heart breaking. You know his nephew goes to this school?” Sam said, looking around to make sure the boy wasn’t anywhere near them.
“Yeah, yeah. I don’t remember his first name, but Parker rings a bell,” Y/n replied while opening her locker. She began grabbing her books out when Sam piped up again.
“I don’t think I know his first name either. I mean, ‘Penis Parker’ seems to be a common nickname from Flash, but I don’t think I know his actual name,” Sam realized, almost whispering it to herself.
Suddenly, the hall quieted. The gossip of today seemed all to loud and the whole school came to a standstill. Y/n turned, and there walked two boys, all too aware of what was happening around them. One of them, Y/n knew as Ned Leeds. He was in her English class, but was quiet and reserved unless spoken to. The other, while Y/n didn’t know him, didn’t need an introduction. She already knew that it was Ben Parker’s nephew; everyone knew that. After what happened last night, and the boy’s low hung head, no one needed to ask.
Even Flash knew this was no time to tease him, and while he did begin to say something, he quickly shushed himself and looked away. Y/n felt her heart ache for this poor boy that she didn’t even know. From what she’d heard, he seemed sweet enough, and he was smart, entirely capable of getting into any college that he wanted. She looked over at Sam, who was giving the boy a concerned look.
“Should we do something?” Sam asked, turning to Y/n. Her green eyes which were normally filled with an optimistic spark were now sad, and almost looked watery.
“I don’t even know what to do. Isn’t he an orphan?” She whispered. And suddenly the silence of the school was broken, and it was back to the man who had graced Queens but had now passed all too soon. She looked at where the boys once were, and saw that they had turned into a classroom and shut the door.
“Yeah, only his Aunt is left apparently. It was in the newspaper this morning, my dad was reading his obituary,” Sam said. Y/n turned back to Sam and was going to say something but was soon interrupted by the bell ringing. So, she quickly said her goodbyes and left Sam and the problems of the Parker boy far behind her.
—————
“He’s going to get himself killed!” Fate exclaimed to the man who stood in front of her. Today, she had come to Coincidence, and now stood in his vast library. Shelves surrounded both of them, and while the books had no labeling, Fate was sure that Coincidence had no problems knowing what was in each one. Now, he sat in his desk, his glasses perched upon his nose and his face expressionless as he wrote down something in an endless book.
“He has powers, you know,” Coincidence said simply. Fate stood in silence, blinking at Coincidence with a shocked look upon her face.
“He what?” She questioned. She could now feel her blood boiling. What had Coincidence done?
“Lab accident, radioactive spider, it really was a fun thing to watch,” Coincidence replied. Fate was fuming, but she took a breath and stayed calm. “He’s doing good anyway, or rather, now he is. Ever since Ben died he’s been swinging through the streets and helping out old ladies. He’s practically doing my work for me!”
“He’s in danger!” Fate said, standing her ground. This made Coincidence raise an eyebrow.
“Clearly it was his… fate to be a hero,” He replied. A smirk coated his face and Fate had to resist the urge to slap it off.
“Sure, he may be running into the path of justice, but he’s also running away from his problems! For all we know, he has mental trauma. He lost his parents and his uncle. The only thing he has left is an Aunt who just lost her soulmate!” She was practically yelling at this point, but she couldn’t find it within herself to care. Coincidence was being insensitive.
“You didn’t care this much when Tony Stark had all his mental problems,” Coincidence mumbled under his breath, “Or when Steve Rogers lost his best friend, or when Bucky Barnes was being tortured, or when mental illnesses began booming in teens. Where were you for all of that? Have you ever considered that maybe this one kid isn’t all I care about?” Coincidence stood up and walked around the library that surrounded them. He pointed to a stack of books, “This is a list of lives of all the people that died in World War II, ever consider that I was busy then?” He then walked to another area of the library and looked at a giant book shelf.
“And this here? This is every single person in the world who suffers from a mental illness, trauma, a terminal illness, or other kind of life altering problem. So, I guess you could say I’m a little busy,” Coincidence snapped.
“I never said you weren’t busy! I have always said that you have a difficult job-“ Coincidence cut her off.
“You’re right, I am busy. I don’t just sit on a cloud and bless children with soulmates! I actually have things to do. So I’m sorry if I don’t have every second of my existence to look upon Peter Parker and make sure he isn’t getting killed,” Coincidence and Fate stared at each other as an uneasy silence filled the room.
“You’re right. I’m sorry,” Fate whispered. Coincidence’s face softened and he walked closer to her.
“Hey, I’m sorry I didn’t mean to snap like that,” He said and reached out a hand to her shoulder in an act of comfort.
“No no, it’s fine. I’m just going to go look after Peter. I’ll see you later,” Fate said and turned before disappearing out of the library.
—————
Y/n once again sat out on the balcony. No snow fell today, but unplowed sidewalks were covered in it. Once again, she sat and drew on her arm, hoping that Peter would eventually reply back. Her drawing was full of loops and leaves, but was simply a way to get her mind off of all that had happened today.
Despite not knowing this Parker boy, she felt a strange need to help him. In fact, she wanted to help him in any way that she could, but by the time she had this courage, she witnessed him leaving the school with puffy eyes and a red face.
Y/n paused her drawing for a moment and looked out at the skyline of Queens. The winter sun was beginning to set, and put an orange hue on every building that surrounded her. Just around a building, she saw something swing past. She curiously looked on at the thing that swung between buildings.
She soon recognized it as a person. Her eyes widened as she saw him continue to weave in and out of her line of sight. Something shot out from his hand, and he continued to swing between the large towers that surrounded him. He was coming closer, but eventually turned off and went into an alleyway. Y/n sat there in shock for a moment. It was crazy, she could have sworn she was going insane. But she knew what the saw. Y/n picked up her pen quickly before writing on her arm, half to make sure that she could feel the pen and wasn’t just dreaming, and half to make sure that someone else knew what amazing thing she just witnessed.
You will not believe what I just saw

#I actually do know Exactly what issue this is#number one of the uh edge of spiderverse (2022 I think???)#ugh it pissed me off so bad#like not a fan of cheating plots anyways but if you're going to attempt one do it right???#okay let's say peter benjamin parker cheats on mj. it would be with someone older.#AND NO DON'T MEAN MINOR/ADULT eugh. he's an adult at this point what I mean by someone older#is that in noir peter has consistently craved safety and guidance in older figures that's Part of why he and felicia have that whole Mess#if he were to cheat it'd be w/ someone who could represent safety.#obvi there's platonic/familial comforts that represent this 2 like urich n may but 4 someone who's consistently lost peeps it could extend#and then let's talk about mj and her role barely present for this whole ordeal and is just hanging off his arm or being begged at which is.#we don't get to see her thoughts about this At All other that she's vaguely “optimistic” about the state of things#and the last we see of her is running off to save him from the other woman#like girl if he decided hanging out with a wasp lady is better that's on him. he can endure a little poison.#peter benjamin parker ill kill u actually#<-prev tags so true actually#anyway writers read the original source material instead of going off vibes and personal fantasies challenge start now#love the spiderverse movie interpretation but it's like the guy's been ship of theseused so many times he is just a shell of his former sel#anyway I love your mj bc you understand the depth she can contribute rather than the prop she's been set up as#beyond ewoaf isn't canon to me <3 they are all completely different writers anyway there's little involvement of the original co writers#and most the noir stuff is spiderverse centric now and don't know how much of a hot take it is while the movies are deeply enjoyable#the spiderverse comics are kinda eh#anyway sorry!! ramble time is over
