Aj!! I wanted to ask you what trope or like classic character in book/movie each of the enha members are to you? like a few that always feel like they go w eachother to me is like childhood friend/boy next door for jake (maybe it’s basic but it DOES IT FOR ME EVERYTIMEEE) and like fake dating heeseung or brothers best friend for hoon like secret dating or rivals to lovers yk?? Jay also gives like old money x scholarship girl
hmm, for me it depends on the mood however i'll give you the ones i am feeling rn (also, your tropes are so accurate!)
heeseung: brother's best friend! i always associate it with him because i think he has such a caring personality mixed in with subtle affection (the way he pats the members' heads etc.) so i think he would subtlety show affection to his best friend's sister and eventually fall for her.
jay: cafe owner! its kind of ceo-ish but with a cuter twist. i think he suits the calm, serine type of tropes because of his gentle nature OR anything w crime - either the criminal, detective etc. because he is so headstrong and passionate.
jake: first love/soulmate! i think everyone and their dog knows i love soft and dreamy jake in all senses, i think these tropes fit his personality the best because he is the embodiment of sunshine and falling in love weirdly feels like drowning yourself in sunlight (in the best way ofc)
sunghoon: rivals 2 lovers! i agree w you 100%, in any kind of story where rivals are present. i think its because his striking beauty can be minconstrude as him being cold but his personality quickly makes you see how warm he is. so in public he would hate reader bc he wants to be first but inside he would love love love the challenge and relish being w the rival, yknow?
sunoo: best friend 2 lovers! he is so best friend coded!! its because he is so easy to fall in love with, there is no escaping his cuteness or love i fear.
jungwon: boy next door! i was also going to say college sweetheart but i think next door neighbour suits him a lot. he would help his neighbours, esp the elderly with shopping etc. because he is so cute and endearing he is.
ni-ki: highschool/college sweetheart! i think he could also fall into the first love trope like jake. i cant explain why i think this other than i get the vibe???? he is so cool that i think 90s romcom college trope would be best for him

Late 2022/Early 2023 Bops!!
Two Knocks - aeseaes
Vandalize - One Ok Rock
That Unwanted Animal - The Amazing Devil
The Horror and the Wild - The Amazing Devil
Dream Away - KWINI
mm+i - serin oh
Bird Song - Florence + The Machine
Seven Nation Army / Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) - Buffalo Rose
A Beautiful Song (from Nier: Automata)
Mourning (from Nier Automata)
Sogno di Volare - Christopher Tin (from Civilization VI)
Bird Song has quite literally been my February anthem, but all of these have been on repeat for weeks. Alongside all of Upstate tbh. Once again, I prove myself to be pretty genreless lol. We’ll see how many of these survive to the Spotify Wrapped.
I wonder if PhD admissions these days are biased toward extroverted (or extrovert-presenting (such as myself)) students. I mean, I suppose most things in life show preference for extroverts, but I’ve certainly noticed during my visits that many students who make it to interviews or to the admit stage are quite (and, occasionally, aggressively) extroverted. And while, on one hand, I feel like this disadvantages great students who just don’t have that same charisma, I also think it kind of represents a changing academia. Prioritizing future academics who are more likely to be team players, who are more likely to reach outside of their fields and engage in that ~interdisciplinary research~ which universities adore. Prioritizing friendly, collaborative, and fun cohorts at the graduate level. Rewarding not just intelligence and hard skills, but also soft skills. Maybe I’m thinking too much into it. It’s just that I’ve been so surprised by how personable all of the prospective students I’ve met this cycle have been, and I’m wondering if that initial “reaching out phase” in the early fall is meant as a screening process to select for those personable students, not just the brilliant ones. I mean, I suppose that can also come out through letters of recommendation and such, I don’t know. I’m probably just overthinking; I should go to bed.
Speaking of sleep, I don’t know if it was just me (actually, I know it wasn’t because I expressed this to many people today and they agreed), but daylight savings was killer this year. I haven’t ever slept in half an hour past my wake-up time, and getting up this morning was a horror show. Didn’t wash my face, didn’t eat breakfast, had no energy during the 8am. Ended up taking a long nap in the afternoon which helped, but I think I could’ve used another hour and a half tbh.
Today I’m thankful for.. choir rehearsals. Just in general. Learning and perfecting music with others is such a fun time, and I feel so lucky to have stumbled into this amazing group and have this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to sing in a symphony orchestra as a non career musician. I remember experiencing very similar feelings during marching band in high school, just feeling overwhelmed with joy and gratitude and a sense of belonging despite the difficulty of maintaining the standard that the ensemble required. It’s fun to be challenged this way. It’s beautiful to be part of building something greater than anything I could ever do on my own.
[edit, two days later: oh also happy three year anniversary to miss rona i guess]

Chapter Three | A Decent Spot to Read
-> story masterpost
-> previous chapter
Cassandra helped Theo to his feet as the crowd raved, even Evie was cheering at the top of her lungs for her victorious cousin. Theo’s thin line of a mouth and defeated sigh as he picked up his sword showed his distaste for Cass’s victory.
Nope. That is a terrible nickname. Never using that one again. Must think of another one.
As the applause died down, Cassandra looked around at the newcomers with a bright, shining smile on her face. Cassandra threw her sword into the ground, the hilt sticking up in the air, before she spoke to the knights-in-training.
“You’re welcome for giving you some proper entertainment. Now, as much fun as this was, I have even better news for you! There will be more of this tomorrow–” Cassandra picked up her sword and pointed it at the idle men– “when I get to beat the shit out of you dumbasses.”
The men went very silent all of the sudden.
“Have fun, and welcome to Vale Serine!” Cassandra laughed.
There were some tentative, slow claps from the knights-in-training, but all of them had not just confused but also concerned, even terrified, faces on. Theo, still shaken from the defeat, turned to address them.
“The princess is indeed correct–” he shot Cassandra a look– “tomorrow’s training will begin with a demonstration of everyone’s skill as you face her. For now, you’re all free to return home and get settled in, explore the city, or otherwise. Training will begin early in the morning, so don’t spend too much time and money at the taverns tonight.”
The crack elicited a bit of laughter from the men as they began to disperse. As Theo went to leave as well, Cassandra grabbed him by the arm to speak to him. Evie looked over at Gena after hearing a small gasp, only to find Gena pressing a finger to her lips and pulling it away to find drops of red.
“Are you okay?” Evie asked.
Gena looked over at the young princess, a little startled, as she reached for her handkerchief, and Gena flashed a small smile.
“Yes, it’s nothing,” Gena replied and went to wipe away the blood, but she stopped. “Promise me you won’t say anything about what I told you.”
“Okay. I promise.”
Gena shook her head. “I rarely ever talk about Cassandra, let alone spill her secrets. I’m not usually like this, I’m sorry.”
The maid pressed the handkerchief to her bleeding lips, the white cloth being stained red.
“Evie.”
The two whipped their heads around to see Cassandra approaching with Theo. Cassandra continued to flaunt her smugness, which was a one-eighty from what her initial countenance had been all day.
“This loser right here–”
“Why did I ever agree to fight you,” Theo murmured.
“–is Sir Theodore Valennard, my personal guard who can’t win a fight against me.”
“I can win a fight against you.”
Cassandra held up a finger, “Don’t make me recite my list of victories again.”
Theo promptly shut his mouth and sighed through his nose.
“Theodore, like the one Teddy is short for?” Evie asked.
Brows furrowed, heads tilted, and Theo’s lips pressed themselves into a thin line. He replied, “Mm… not quite…”
“I’m going to call you Teddy from now on,” Evie continued, a smile on her face. “I like it better.”
Teddy’s face contorted even more while Cassandra clapped him hard on the back and said, “Good luck with this one.”
She then gestured with her head toward the castle door and proceeded to leave, Gena tailing behind her. Teddy watched the two walk away, cleared his throat, and then turned back to Evie.
“So, uh, what-what did Cass– I mean Cassandra–” he stuttered before Evie mercifully cut him off.
“She was giving me a tour of the castle.”
“Ah…” Teddy glanced at his surroundings. “Well, um… this is the training ground where we… train… yeah…”
Evie blinked at him a few times as he nodded his head slowly.
“Do you mind showing me the gardens?” Evie asked.
“Yeah, of course,” Teddy replied quickly.
Teddy took her back through the palace, leading to the south end of the property. In a very short time, Evie was standing before another large door waiting for it to open out to the bright light of day. This time she was not blinded, and instead immediately greeted with her heart’s desire.
The stone steps downwards melted into a gravel path that expanded far beyond what the eye could see. There were rows upon rows of green shrubbery, colorful flowers, and trees against the blue of the sky. Mesmerized, Evie took steps forward and those steps turned into an awestruck walk through the expansive gardens. Near the entrance, there was a quaint square pool lined with stone fountains, boxwood bushes, and ferns; and various sites similar to this one littered the grounds.
In the center of the gardens laid a small, circular fountain with water as blue as the sky above. Small bushes, hedges, and flowers made patterns upon the flat greens surrounding it. Tall, thin trees stuck up between the stone arches encircling the peaceful little haven, ivy and blooming roses mounted upon the pillars and helping the stone blend in with the nearby greenery. Evie took note of every pathway, especially those with mossy cobblestone for steps and flora arches for ceilings which seemed like they led to a secret passageway.
“While I’m here I might as well pick flowers for the queen. Do you know which ones she likes?” Evie inquired.
“I honestly have no clue,” Teddy replied. “I’m not one for picking flowers.”
“Oh, well, no matter. I suppose some roses might do. Do you know where I might find some?”
“Okay, I do happen to know where those would be. Follow me.”
Evie giddily did as she was told. He left the center of the gardens and turned left immediately, going down one of the mossy cobblestone paths. The steps led down to a lower level of the gardens consisting of small hallways with statues at each end. The walls and ceilings were covered in roses, roses of every color and size imaginable. A wonderstruck Evie slowly perused the walls, gently removing certain flowers from their resting places. For once, Evie fell silent, and it didn’t take long for Teddy to ask questions.
“You’re very precise with what roses you’re picking.”
“Indeed,” Evie absentmindedly responded and pulled another, being wary of the thorns on its stem.
“Why not just pick the first few roses and leave?”
“Gift-giving is an art form,” she simply replied. “The gift one gives says much, even if it’s simply the color of a flower.”
“I didn’t know flower colors had meaning.”
“Not just the colors, but even the flowers themselves have various meanings,” Evie looked away from the walls and back at Teddy. “Haven’t you ever wondered why only lilies and rosemary are acceptable at funerals?”
“No, I guess I haven’t given the idea much thought.”
Evie returned to her flowers as she spoke,“Lilies represent death, so it’s only natural to have them there. But rosemary stands for remembrance. That’s what one does at a funeral: remember the life of the one who has died.”
Teddy remained quiet, though Evie continued on.
“Roses are known for being common gestures of love, but there are many different meanings roses can hold. I can say a lot with roses and not say a word which makes them a perfect gift for someone whose favorite flower remains a mystery to me.”
“And what is it that you’re saying with these roses?”
“Many things. Yellow is a sign of friendship and cheerfulness, peach symbolizes gratitude, purple is not just a patron color but is also the color of royalty, a few black ones speak of new beginnings, and white represents loyalty everlasting.”
“So in flower language you’re essentially saying you’re grateful for this new opportunity and are excited to form friendships and be a part of the royal family?”
Evie's face grew slowly into a smile, “You learn quickly.”
“I’ve always had to.”
Evie cocked her head slightly and said, “I’d like to bring you with me when picking flowers more often. You make very good flower-picking company.”
“I certainly try to, my lady.”
Evie shook her head. “Och, everyone here is so formal. Is it really that hard to use a person’s name once in a while?”
“My apologies, Evie, but you are in the Ravenwell Palace. It’s a different world when you’re this close to the royal family.”
“Well, at least this new world has a decent spot to read in. The center of the gardens is quite a peaceful place.”
“I should do you one better. I may not know much about flowers and herbs, but I certainly know books and where one might like to read. It’s actually just through these halls. Go to the end of this one, turn left, and there should be an arch leading out to a green pasture.”
Evie nodded and followed Teddy’s instructions, the knight following closely behind her. Sure enough, the archway was only a minute’s walk and Evie could see expanses of long green grass as she approached. The light of the setting sun hit her eyes, illuminating her irises with the most brilliant light. She could hear the sound of waves and running water not too far.
“If you don’t mind following me, it’s just down this hill,” Teddy called.
Indeed, the pasture slowed steeply downwards, and as the two overcame the gentle peak the pasture revealed to her a flat plain below. The blue river Serine weaved its way throughout the grass, and by one of its bends sat a beautiful monument to nature, the only tree for miles. There, sitting in dark tan bark, was a giant weeping willow, one whose leaves looked as though they were forged from the riches of the royal treasury.
“In my first few months living in Vale Serine I spent many a day here. I never come out here much anymore, so I figured you would be more likely to appreciate it than I.”
“It’s wonderful,” Evie breathed.
“Indeed. This is supposedly the final resting place of the great sorceress Cassindrea, Cassandra’s namesake and great-great-grandmother. Not many people ever visit here, so you’re ensured privacy and quiet.” “It’s the perfect spot for reading,” Evie said and turned to him. “Thank you.”
“It’s my pleasure, Evie,” he replied with a smile. “Come, there’s one more place I think you’d like to see.”
A long trek later, Evie found herself atop the castle walls. The battlement overlooked the city itself and the mountains beyond. The sky began shifting back to the blend of orange to navy as the sun hit the horizon and sank beneath it slowly.
“The city is lovely,” Evie commented.
“I know. Personally, I think this is the best spot in the castle to see our small corner of the world. You not only can see Vale and the Never Peaks, but also the sunset and sunrise.”
“How did you come by this place?”
Teddy chuckled and shook his head. “That is a story for another time. Especially looking at the time, wow. We have to get to dinner.”
“Alri–” Evie began but started to yelp as she tripped and fell towards the emptiness beyond the battlements. Teddy caught her, gripping her arms with great strength and hoisting her back up onto her feet.
“Maybe let’s not have you fall to your death the first day here,” Teddy joked.
“Maybe not.”
The guards opened the doors to the small dining room the family was going to eat at, revealing a long wooden table set with much food. It seemed that Evie and Teddy were a little late to the party, as the queen and Cassandra had already sat down.
“I’m sorry we’re late, Your Majesty,” Teddy said and bowed. “Evie almost fell off the castle walls.”
Evie caught a small eye roll from Cassandra before the queen obstructed any view of her by approaching the duo.
“You’re right on time,” the queen replied. “Just be safe next time you’re up there.”
“Here,” Evie held out the bouquet of roses which Teddy so graciously found a bit of twine to tie the roses together with. “I picked these on our trip to the gardens. I regret I didn’t know which ones were your favorites, so I went with roses.”
“Oh, this is lovely!” the queen replied and beckoned over Gena. “Will you get a vase for these?”
“Yes, Your Majesty,” Gena answered and curtsied before leaving.
“By the way,” the queen turned back to Evie, “my favorite flowers are irises.”
Evie couldn’t help but smile as the queen handed the flowers to a vase-carrying Gena. Gena proceeded to set the roses as the centerpiece of the table.
“I also picked three black roses, one for each of you. To new beginnings.”
“To new beginnings indeed,” the queen nodded as Evie handed out the roses.
Cassie– yes, Cassie would do nicely– took her rose, and examined it with her long, slender fingers as the queen commented, “The roses are quite exquisite this year.”
“Indeed,” Cassie replied. “There’s something oddly appealing about these black roses.”
Teddy offered Evie the seat next to his, and she happily accepted. As the family sat down to eat, the two servants began filling the chalices with wine except for Evie's. The manservant robotically poured water into Evie's cup.
“So, seeing as you’ve done some exploring, what do you think of our palace?”the queen inquired.
“Oh, it’s wonderful! Cassie and Teddy showed me all around the grounds, and I’ve found several perfect places to spend time…” Evie trailed off as she noticed Cassie’s stare of death.
“Cassie and Teddy?” the queen’s eyebrow raised.
“Oh, I just love nicknames. By the way, do you mind if I call you Auntie Ginny?”
Cassie proceeded to choke on her food momentarily and dropped her fork. Teddy cleared his throat and leaned on the table with a single elbow. The queen seemed shocked and speechless, yet to everyone’s dismay she began laughing. Hard.
“It’s quite unconventional, but sure. Why not,” Auntie Ginny giggled.
“Anyway, I’m very excited to be here.”
“I’m sure. Now, about the feast at the end of the week.”
“I’m so looking forward to it.”
“And I’m so not,” Cassie muttered, earning a withering stare from her mother. It seemed the stare of death was hereditary.
“I was hoping to know what your favorite color, flower, and songs are. I’ll get everything arranged for the feast,” Auntie Ginny continued.
“Oh, well, I love pink, peonies, and I brought the sheet music to all of my favorite songs,” Evie delicately picked up her utensils to eat.
“Perfect. Don’t worry about the food, the cook will be around sometime to make the menu with you.”
“Marvelous!” the princess exclaimed, half talking about the feast and half about the food she was eating. Evie had high hopes for the feast ahead.
“So, Theo,” Auntie Ginny cut into her meat, “how are the new recruits?”
Teddy once again cleared his throat and set down his fork. “The new recruits are settling in well and thoroughly terrified. Some of them are at the tavern in Seven Crests, so training tomorrow might be rough on them.”
“Indeed. And how about your cousin?”
“Wesley is ecstatic to be in the city. He found himself a place to stay in upper Wildwood until he can get a place of his own.”
“That’s absurd! He’ll move into the castle immediately.”
“Your Majesty, I-”
“Really, Theo, there’s no need to be so formal, first of all. Second, you moved in here when you began training. I have high hopes for his success anyway.”
“I’ll let him know immediately.”
“And speaking of living in the castle…” Auntie Ginny swiveled her head towards Cassie. “...I heard about the show someone put on at the demonstration this afternoon.”
“Oh?” Cassie replied into her chalice.
“Yes, it seemed like it was quite entertaining.”
Cassie set down her wine and smirked. “Well, that’s a nice change from Theo’s demonstration.”
“My demonstrations are great,” Teddy cut in.
“Oh, please, you couldn’t make your sorry excuse for a demonstration better even if you wanted to.”
“I always have a newly knighted man every year, it’s never the same.”
“Yes, but people want real entertainment. Not you,” Cassie smiled.
“Enough,” Auntie Ginny said. “Cassandra, you did make a fool of Theo–”
“He does that very well himself.”
“–and you could have ruined a lovely dress.”
“Mother, if I cared about ruining a dress, I wouldn’t have bothered giving the recruits an easy show.”
“You understand that it’s considered very unbecoming for a princess to participate in such activities.”
“And if I cared about that, I would be boring as shit.”
“Cassandra,” her mother said sternly.
Cassie’s wicked smile returned. “Besides, I wouldn’t be able to help Theo tomorrow if that was the case.”
“Excuse me?” Auntie Ginny looked over at Teddy who tried hiding his face with his chalice. “Theo, explain.”
“I, uh… I made a deal with her.”
“Oh, I can imagine.”
“I think I’ll be helping Theo with training more often,” Cassie grinned.
Auntie Ginny sighed through her nose. “This is what I get for trying to teach my daughter self-defense skills.”
It was then that Gena leaned over to Auntie Ginny and whispered something into her ear.
“Ah, perfect. Thank you,” Auntie Ginny told Gena.
“What’s going on, Mother?” Cassie asked.
“You and Theo remember the King of Valoran?” Cassie and Teddy immediately stopped what they were doing. “He’s passing through to visit his family in the south and has decided to break his journey here for a few days.”
Both Cassie and Teddy found their laps very fascinating. Even Gena and the other servant seemed a little off put as well. Auntie Ginny didn’t seem concerned about it, and instead continued on with her speech.
“He and I will also be discussing the fallout from your little adventure.”
Evie zeroed in on Cassie, watching her cousin mess with her wrist. “All of that was an accident–”
“I know that,” Auntie Ginny cut off Cassie, “and he knows that, however, there are some things that must be discussed before all's right with the world again. Besides all of that, the king wishes to speak to you both now that he’s had time to grieve.”
“Fantastic,” Cassie breathed and took a long sip from her chalice.
“Now, I expect everyone to be on their best behavior, and, please for all that’s good, do not partake in another wild escapade.”
“You need to protect Evie,” Cassandra's mother demanded after holding her daughter in the dining hall when everyone had left.
“I’m sorry, what?” Cassandra replied. “Where exactly did this come from?”
“Well, you heard her tonight. She nearly fell off of the castle walls today!”
“And this is my problem, how?”
“As her cousin and now essentially her older sister, it’s your job to care for her.”
Cassandra's face at that moment was indescribable.
“A princess would take care of her subjects and her family,” the queen continued. “She wouldn’t go off gallivanting with knights.”
“I’m sorry, what? You really just can’t handle that I enjoy competing with the knights.”
“Whatever you believe. And, by the way, the king and I will be discussing the beginnings of a treaty between Valoran and Nevernia. We have lost much in the way of allies and treaties, as you know.”
“I know.”
“The death of Prince Henri has cost us nearly everything we have been working towards. So much of this could have been saved by your marriage–”
“I know, Mother,” Cassandra's voice echoed through the hall.
The queen tilted her head ever so slightly and spoke with an unnerving quietness, “I only wish to say we must proceed with agreements, or we may one day find ourselves with another enemy. That is a lesson you must learn and learn soon.”
Cassandra grabbed a nearby chalice that hadn’t been taken away yet and dumped the rest of the wine into it. “And I suppose you know all.”
“Cassandra, this is no laughing matter.”
“I’m sorry,” Cassandra swished around the liquid in the cup and looked up from its contents, staring up at her mother with a gaze of pure contempt. “I didn’t hear anyone laughing.”The queen went to speak again as Cassandra tipped the chalice towards her mouth, draining it completely. Cassandra cut off her mother by slamming the empty cup onto the table and simply walking away.

Do Not Compromise With The Look: Choose The Right Fencing For The Ponds
You are fond of the aesthetic vibe. You always find vintage, classic items to decorate the house. Therefore, you have created a personal pond in the garden. You will agree that a water garden is one of the best choices if you're a nature lover. The serine look of the ponds can calm you anytime. Besides, adding a waterbody to your garden can dramatically change the ambience. But, if you have children, fencing in the ponds is of the utmost importance.
This article will surely guide you the best, whether you already have a water pond in the garden you want to build.
Why is fencing important for ponds?
Well, you are thinking, you choose to feel the pleasing vibe, but fencing certainly creates a barrier. You may not opt for these options. But you are making some big mistakes. According to the building constructors, if your water body is deeper than nearly 18 inches, it must have been fenced around it. Many states and the federal government also put restrictions on it. If you do not follow it, it can cause a legal suit against you. So, it is better to have fencing in the ponds.
If you choose suitable fencing materials, it can give a decorative look to the water body. You no longer need to visit a park; you will get the best experience being in your palace. Besides, security is another reason for fences. You may not need any unprecedented situation to happen with your loved ones. Your pets and children can suffer from your wrong decisions. So, go for fencing in the ponds.
What can I choose?
Thankfully! With the advancement of the building and construction industry, homeowners have so many options. You can install any type of fencing in the ponds. It must first be in your pocket or time limit. You can create a personal oasis for your loved ones by keeping security in mind.
Chain links:
In this type of fencing, the ponds materials can be easily used for residential and commercial areas. You will notice such barriers when you visit nearby parks. This is the most secure prison for your children. Although you have to compromise with visual appearances, you can change it anytime once your children grow old.
Many people believe that chain links are not durable. Indeed, these links use steel rather than iron materials, but the mesh-like structure is the key to strength and durability. The great benefits of such fencing are that it does not consume so much space in your garden. So, even if you have a minimal area, you can still sit with ease.
Bamboo fence:
If you're not ready to compromise with visual appeal at any cost, you can choose this most eco-friendly option. Bamboo materials are the best friends for people eager to get aesthetic looks. But you cannot install it directly near your ponds. You must create another layer of barriers; you can use pavers and stones to protect it from direct water contact. Well, you have got detailed knowledge about fencing in the ponds. For perfection, security and professionalism, you must contact the right consultants.

Garlic Plans
Life was significantly more comfortable traveling with a mage.
Now that Kalivan had control over his own magic, it seemed that he was determined to show them that he was grateful for securing his freedom. In general, that meant that he was good company. He was well-read, spoke several languages, and had quickly started picking up on Trem’s Northman dialect.
More importantly, he was able to ward their camps at night, and could be relied upon to find clean water each night. Serine thought it was magic at first, but he claimed to simply have a nose for water, and a knack for finding herbs to spice their suppers. Either way, he made sure they stayed in water and slept safe. In return, Serine brought in enough meat to feed them all, and even chanced on a fine patch of cattails the second night after they got their mage.
“So how’d they catch you?” Serine asked, with Glimmer on her shoulder, watching curiously as she cleaned the cattail roots and chopped them into their camp-pot. Kalivan was far too think for a healthy mage. Serine and Trem had agreed that it was no real difficulty to make sure they brought in enough extra food for their new friend to gain back some weight. “You’re a solid mage, what with you being able to summon demons and all.”
“Summoning demons is something of an overstatement,” Kalivan said with a dry chuckle. He was weaving long strands of grass together into what was either magic, or a straw hat. Serine wasn’t sure which. It was an intricate thing either way, and he seemed to be braiding in the lemon-scented reeds from down by the river, too. “I can summon spirits. What sort of spirit just depends on which door I open, and where that door leads.”
“So they’re not demons?”
“Some of them are very small demons. Most of them are harmless.”
“Means some of them aren’t harmless,” Trem noted. He was checking over their weapons, and had stolen Serine’s quiver of arrows so he could sharpen the arrowheads as well. “More powerful than you let on, huh?”
“And you are uncomfortably observant,” Kalivan told him, although he didn’t seem overly annoyed by it. “Yes, I can hold my own. As for how they caught me, I was stupid. Very stupid. I thought that my power would protect me. I went to the market one day, and awoke in a dungeon.”
He set his project aside and pulled his sleeve up to display a set of red-glowing runes that were carved into his skin. They followed his veins up to his elbow.
“There’s a great deal of very dark magic that can be done with a person’s blood if one person is entirely unbothered by making a slave of another.,” he explained, apparently numb to the horror of what he was explaining. Serine and Trem exchanged horrified glances. Glimmer hissed and leapt from Serine’s shoulder to Kalivan’s so they could get a better look at the runes. Kalivan left them to it and returned to the conversation. “My collar is tied to my blood, which ties into my magic. It will tighten if I defy a command, and when it draws blood…”
He trailed off, and didn’t explain further. There was a haunted look in his eyes. Serine assumed that he had tried, and failed, to refuse a great many commands over his year trapped in the nasty thing. Serine winced away from thinking about what his owners had forced him to do in that time. She didn't have to ask to know that he was a gentle soul, and doing that much evil, even against his will, had burne him to the bone.
“You want, they try for you again, we won’t let you be taken alive,” Trem offered quietly. He shrugged when Kalivan looked over at him, apparently surprised by the offer. “My people know that there are some things worse than death. We’d make it quick if we couldn’t keep them from grabbin’ you again.”
“That’s very generous,” Kalivan said cautiously, but Serine could see a weight fall off his shoulders at the very offer, even if she didn’t think he would take them up on it. “I hope it won’t come to that.”
“You give the word,” Trem said, apparently unconcerned by the suggestion that he simply kill their new friend if the situation got dire. Serine didn’t like the idea much, but she didn’t disagree with Trem’s offer. Of course, she also hoped that between their abilities, and Glimmer being what they really were, and as large as they really were, they could find another way out of a bad situation. Glimmer couldn’t carry them all for long, and they would have to leave their horses, but they could all fly away if there was a need. “So, what’re you making?”
“It’s a ward to keep insects out of the camp. I’m tired of waking up itching,” Kaliver said, and paused to dig in his pocket. He proffered a handful of white, papery-covered bulbs to Serine, who took them, surprised and pleased. “Oh, here. I found a patch of wild garlic by the spring.”
“That’ll make supper all sorts of fancy,” Serine agreed. It was already a good stew, with barley and spices, cattails, and most of a pair of ducks she brought down earlier that day. There were a fair number of benefits to traveling near a swamp, even if the mud and smell were annoying. The hunting, however, was very good, and there were lots of plants around to fill out the stew. She chopped the garlic up and scraped it into the pot, before covering it up to simmer some more. They wouldn’t finish it all tonight, and that meant breakfast was settled as well. “So, that’s for dinner. What say we make a plan. I don’t know abut you, but I’d sure like to know what we’re up against before we wander in blind.”

Glasslands, Pt 2
Before we return to my irregularly unscheduled yelling of jokes about how I want to fight authors, let me tell you what Halo: Glasslands is about. I know some of y’all are definitely following me for the experience of Zita Reads Halo So You Don’t Have To, and I have been neglectful of this duty for this book so far.
So.
Glasslands has three major plot threads, which converge as it goes. The first one introduced picks up right where Eric Nylund left us at the end of Ghosts of Onyx: Halsey, Mendez, Fred, Kelly, Linda, Tom, Lucy, Ash, Mark, and Olivia are inside the Forerunner shield world that used to be the planet Onyx. This takes place inside a slipspace bubble, so a matter of days for these characters is a matter of months for the outside world.
This plot thread is about exploring the inside of the Dyson sphere, trying to find important things like food and a way out, and seeing if there’s any cool Forerunner technology in this thing that is apparently a Forerunner fallout shelter. In the meantime, Lucy (who has been mute since a traumatic mission she survived one time) gets separated from the group and manages to start communicating with a group of Huragok she finds. While the group looks for her, Halsey and Mendez argue a lot about the morality of what they did in the past and it’s Very Awkward for the Spartans.
The second major plot thread (and the central one of the whole book) is about the assembly of a top secret ONI team called Kilo-Five. Their mission? To cause strife among the Sangheili and keep them from stabilizing (and becoming a threat again) now that the war is over.
The leader of the team is Captain Serin Osman, a former Spartan-II who washed out when her body started rejecting things during augmentation. She recovered from that and was given work in ONI, where she grew up to become the protege of Admiral Margaret Parangosky. Parangosky, whom we briefly saw in a flashback in Ghosts of Onyx, is the head of the Office of Naval Intelligence. She is an exceptionally terrifying lady. She is also 92 years old and lowkey dying, and Osman is being groomed to replace her.
The members of Osman’s new team are:
Professor Evan Phillips, probably the single most knowledgable human person about Sangheili. Huge nerd, very earnestly excited about his specialty, but also adapting terrifyingly fast to ONI spook work.
Staff Sergeant Mal Geffen and Corporal Vasily Beloi, two ODSTs who served in the same unit. Mal is more genial and steady. Vaz is coping with pain a little worse and has more anger, and Mal worries about him a bit.
Sergeant Devereaux, their pilot, also ODST. (There’s not a lot about her, but I’m assuming she gets more established in the later two stories.)
Petty Officer Naomi-010, a Spartan-II. Naomi’s not complicated: She’s big, stoic, serious, and good at her job, but with that flicker of telltale Spartan-II social vulnerability.
Black Box, or BB. Formerly Parangosky’s personal smart AI, BB is a highly capable and sardonic little dude. His chosen avatar is a blue cube, he considers it embarrassingly needy for an AI to pretend at being human.
The third plot thread is about Jul ‘Mdama. You remember Jul ‘Mdama from Halo 4/5? Good, because I barely do.
Jul is unhappy with how things are on Sanghelios: His people are disorganized and shaken by the loss of the Covenant support structure, and he strongly disagrees with the Arbiter about how they should stop fighting with the humans. Jul winds up getting involved in a plot to assassinate the Arbiter.
HOW DOES THIS PLAY OUT?
I wanted to do a more detailed plot summary, but the last quarter of this book kind of overcame my tolerance. I’ll do my best.
Kilo Five comes together and is doing regularly scheduled weapons deals with a Sangheili monk named Avu Med ‘Telcam, meeting on a glassed planet (New Llanelli). They are giving ‘Telcam weapons to use in his rebellion against the Arbiter, so long as he agrees not to fuck with humanity after he succeeds. (The weapons, of course, have hidden tracers on them so ONI can figure out where they are going and who ends up with hands on them.)
They are also on call in case anything comes of the Onyx situation (ONI doesn’t know what the fuck is going on over there or how to get people out of it, but they’re monitoring the situation), and they are also also on call to go with Admiral Hood to a diplomatic meeting with the Arbiter on Sanghelios.
Some things that Kilo Five deals with include:
Extracting an ONI agent from his listening post on a glassed world, during which they end up in a fight with his Jackal contacts.
Being on scene when the rebel-filled colony world Venezia refuses to let a UNSC ship in distress dock, and the ship explodes and people die. They also fire shots at another UNSC ship for coming close trying to recover survivors.
Capturing a small ship with some Jiralhanae on it that have a Huragok, so now the UNSC has a Huragok.
Jul ‘Mdama.
During these adventures, Osman tells the gang all about the bad business of the Spartan program. This is pretty upsetting for Naomi. Osman also gives Naomi access to the Spartan program’s file on her, which contains a detailed record of what she was like as a kid and the fucked up details of what happened to her birth family due to the grief. Osman has never read her own record, even though she could have. Naomi, who is becoming friends with Vasily, asks Vaz to read her file first and tell her if he thinks she should. (I actually really liked that, it was very human and I am (as established) weak as paper for whenever someone tries to show care for a Spartan.) This is Osman deliberately trying to prepare the team for having to encounter Dr. Halsey later, and especially Naomi.
MEANWHILE, in the Dyson sphere, the Onyx gang is just trying to survive. Lucy gets separated from the group and finds a bunch of Huragok that have been maintaining the shield world since Forerunner times. It’s hard for her to communicate with them because she can’t speak, and even making her brain form words to write is a challenge for her, but she manages and makes friends with one in particular (Prone to Drift.) Lucy is kind of weirdly handled, she’s 20 years old at this point but Traviss writes her like a young teenager tbh. Traviss also implies that the Huragok can repair living organisms (they are confused about why Lucy is silent when she’s physically fine) which is not actually a thing they can do.
I don’t have it in me to lay out the details of Halsey’s arguments with Mendez right now, but Traviss decides that Mendez will be her Onyx gang mouthpiece for calling Halsey a monster. She has Mendez suddenly 180 on how he feels about the Spartan program and drags in a bunch of totally incorrect lore to make Halsey look worse, and characterizes her as a petulant and spoiled bitch. The Spartans just kind of look at each other awkwardly and go “uh” during all this.
The Huragok don’t want to contact the ships outside the Dyson sphere because they are afraid they might be a threat. Traviss has Halsey threaten the Huragok with a gun about this, so that Lucy can magically recover her ability to speak in order to scream at her for it. Also, Lucy punches Halsey as hard as she can (she can feel the vibration of it up her arm.) Somehow, being punched in the face at full strength by a fully augmented Spartan-III doesn’t kill her (because Lucy is a precious vulnerable baby in Traviss’s head I guess.)
ALSO, MEANWHILE ON SANGHELIOS, Jul ‘Mdama is unhappy with the Arbiter’s decisions re: not shooting at humans all the time anymore. His wife’s eyes could not possibly roll any harder about it. She has real problems to deal with because Sangheili apparently don’t even know how to do basic societal infrastructure tasks like farming anymore (???) and have to consult ancient records in order to learn how again now that the Covenant is gone.
It’s kind of weird. On the one hand, it’s interesting and fun to me that the Sangheili don’t know what to do when they’re not being warriors, they lack technical expertise because of overreliance on the Huragok, and Shipmasters are just…. Essentially just taking their ships and parking them in their yards because who will stop them. The Prophets are also just gone (but that makes a kind of sense because the Prophets as we know them have no home world, they only had High Charity, but none of that story is over here.) But on the other, the implication that Sangheili civllization just literally does not support itself in any way without the Covenant is kind of insane. If they aren’t feeding themselves, then who was doing it?????
ANYWAY, our boy Jul ends up falling in with Avu Med ‘Telcam’s religious extremists. He doesn’t believe what they’re laying down, but he does want to support their upcoming attempt to assassinate the Arbiter. However, as they secure a stolen frigate and ‘Telcam’s weapon stockpile grows, he starts to get suspicious about where these guns are coming from.
Jul stows away on ‘Telcam’s ship the next time he goes to pick up weapons from Osman, and spies on him. Unfortunately for Jul, he gets caught by Naomi, Mal, and Vaz. They keep him restrained and quiet so ‘Telcam is none the wiser, then take him prisoner aboard Kilo Five’s prowler. He spends the rest of his sections in the book there, though at the end he gets handed off to ONI scientists. He is a miserable boy and is worried about his wife.
This also enables a pretty odious bit where, after Hood and the Arbiter have had an astonishingly straightforward and peaceful agreement re:ceasefire and the Arbiter agreeing to release any POWs if they still have any, Hood wonders if ONI still has any Sangheili prisoners. Osman is just like lol haha who even knows :) about it while there’s currently a shipmaster punching the walls in her ship’s brig. (It’s a shame because Hood inviting the Arbiter to the memorial at Voi, the cutscene we see at the end of Halo 3, is kind of cool. Also, Phillips gets to fanboy the Arbiter so sincerely that the Arbiter is kind of touched and invites him to come visit Sanghelios and see the sights sometime.)
THE FINAL PART OF THE BOOK sees the Huragok persuaded to return the Dyson sphere to normal space. Kilo Five rolls up and arrests Halsey while ONI scientists get to start oohing and aahing over the Forerunner technology. Parangosky, who has had Halsey declared dead, disappears Halsey to a top secret research station where she will be forced to work and gives her a big monologue. Traviss 1) implies that Halsey cannot speak Italian (which we know she can, it’s a tiny detail but I’m including it because it’s so weirdly petty) and 2) lays out reasons for why Parangosky hates Halsey so much that are based on Traviss completely misrepresenting Halo canon. Again. Here she decides that Parangosky didn’t know about the flash cloned children and she takes exception to that over all the other evil ONI does because ???reasons???. I also think this is the first place in Halo canon where an author seems to have decided that Halsey flash cloned a whole human in order to get an AI brain for Cortana instead of just… flash cloning the brain, which. You know. Flash cloning single organs is medically routine in the Halo universe.
This scene makes me feel like I’m having a fucking stroke because Parangosky as the head of ONI is responsible for everything Halsey did AND WORSE, and yet it’s clear that we as the audience are supposed to be so satisfied by Parangosky finally punishing the bad bad satan woman.
Anyway.
Parangosky lets Osman in on a secret: a huge super cool spaceship called the UNSC Infinity is being built.
The situation on Venezia is getting really unstable.
Phillips gets to visit Sanghelios, and while he’s there he gets kidnapped because IT’S TIME FOR THE SEQUEL HOOK. (....At least I’m pretty sure, I still have not been able to force myself to read the last couple pages again.)
The end.
WHAT’S THE VERDICT?
The way I feel about this book is fucking complicated, because it’s got better writing than most Halo books. A lot of scenes are fun to read. It gives us a lot of lore about Sanghelios that we never had before. HOWEVER, Karen Traviss has a weird goddamn agenda and the rancid vibes are off the charts in here. I literally cannot motivate myself to share fun parts because of how fired up I am over the ideas that crystalize near the end.
What’s fucked up to me is that when I first read this book, I really liked it but never revisited it. This is the second time I’ve read it, and the fact I am much older and know more things (and much more recently reviewed prior canon) means this time was very different.
Glasslands contains important lore that informs a lot of what’s going on as we move forward into the 343 era, but also I hate it and the way I hate it is different from how I hate a lot of other Halo content.
I don’t just hate Karen Traviss’s Halo for making dumb decisions, getting details wrong, or other dumb nerdmad reasons. (Though I am not remotely above being nerdmad.)
I hate it because she is an asshole with bad IRL opinions about IRL things, and the whole work has this weird fucking authoritarian bent to it that bothers the shit out of me.
Stay tuned for Part 3: Why I Have Problems With Karen Traviss. (With bonus Star Wars Bullshit brought to you with love by all my Star Wars EU nerds who brought forth their own dirt when they heard me complaining.)

✨Masterlist✨
Started: March 7, 2022
Last Updated: March 23, 2022
All pics/AUs are my own work. Please don't steal or translate them. Don't post them onto Wattpad or AO3, I only post on Tumblr. I have no other accounts aside from 'gogobebeya'. If you find any of my work anywhere else, please let me know. Thank you!
If you do decide to be a little brat and plagiarize my work, I'll take action - I put a lot of time into writing and I use it as a form of escapism (it may not be healthy but what can you do about it?).
If you'd like to draw inspiration or reference my stories or write something similar (which does not mean plagiarize or copy, aka copy paste and change a few words, or change the names, or places in the story - inspiration, not plagiarism), ask.
Also, I'm new to the whole Tumblr thing (for now), so I'm still figuring out the whole masterlist as well as general layout - patience is key. As of right now, I'm only planning on writing for BTS, but that might change - (as you might be able to tell) I'm a MAMAMOO fan as well and I like K-pop and other various types of music... so we'll see.

Disclaimer: I don't necessarily endorse/support everything I write about - some scenarios might be disturbing, and if you breeze through the warnings, don't say I didn't tell you so. That being said, fics with smut or various mature themes will be marked. So, double warning.

( davika hoorne, cis female, she/her ) i’d be careful, that’s [ HELENA THAMWONG ], they’re a [ NATURAL ] mage. at [ NINETY-TWO ] years old, they specialize in [ WATER MAGIC ]. but i also hear they have the ability of [ WATER TRANSMUTATION ], rather remarkable for an [ ELF ]. as a [ COURTESAN ], they’re known for being [ CHARISMATIC ], if not a little [ RECLUSIVE ]. it might just be me, but they remind me of [ THE SCENT OF PERFUME THAT LINGERS IN THE AIR HOURS LATER, HUSHED WHISPERS AT THE DEAD OF NIGHT, AND AN INTRICATE HAND FAN SNAPPED SHUT ]. i wonder what side they’ll choose in the upcoming conflict.
/ BASICS.
full name: helena thamwong.
nickname(s): lena, tbd.
age: ninety-two.
birthplace: la serine.
gender: cis-woman (she/her).
orientation: biromantic/sexual.
species: elf.
ability: water transmutation — the ability to transform objects and living beings into water. this occurs via touch, and she's careful to limit the amount of time her powers are used. excessive use can be physically draining and a full day recovery is required.
occupation: courtesan.
/ APPEARANCE.
eye colour: brown.
hair colour: dark brown, wavy, waist-length.
height: 5'9".
piercing(s): ears — lobes only.
tattoo(s): none.
build: slender, wider hips.
complexion: clear, bright.
/ PERSONALITY.
type: ENFJ.
fears: losing her freedom.
+ : playful, loyal, charitable, inquisitive, observant.
— : private, distant, indecisive, stubborn, emotional.
straddles the line between free spirit always up for a good time + being the epitome of grace and elegance. (sometimes the line becomes blurry between the two, though she's careful to let only a select few see it).
a bit of chameleon: warm and endearing towards strangers, blunt and teasing among close friends. despite what her actions may suggest, she's highly selective of the company she keeps. quality > quantity, right?
typically refrains from passing judgement of others unless she's given a reason to believe/act otherwise.
/ STORY.
only daughter to a successful merchant, she's showered with love and affection. it's her father who tells her tales of the sea and bears small gifts for every meeting, it's her mother who teaches her to appreciate all that she has despite the weight in her pockets. she's trained in poetry and dance, and educated in matters meant to give her a better understanding of the other regions/kingdoms. it's an idyllic childhood, valued more for the close relationship shared with her parents than the fortune itself.
but somewhere, her father slips up. somehow, the deal he naively believes will allow him to continue on successfully doesn't quite go the way he had envisioned. in fact, the deal does nothing but drain him of everything — money, connections, status. with the family name in ruins, her father flees out of shame, never to be seen again.
the streets are no place for a doe-eyed child. preferring to navigate the difficult situation on her own, her mother opts to leave her in the care of an old friend. the madam of the upscale brothel is reluctant to take in the child, although eventually agrees to honour their friendship. it's not expected that lena will become a courtesan, but if she ultimately does, her mother's adamant that it's far better than the life she can offer.
the other popular courtesans serve as doting older "sisters", the madam acts as a strict but well-intentioned guardian — and lena's initially the assistant carrying out errands on their behalf before eventually shifting her attentions to intensive training when she's of age. it's agreed that she has the potential to become another famed courtesan, what with her quick wit and musical talent, but needs further refining to do so.
when her powers begin to manifest, there's no question that she must head to the circle to manage her powers properly. she leaves wide-eyed and uncertain and returns confident and determined. training resumes, and it's here where she carefully crafts an image that brings her fame and fortune, as well as a status that overshadows the courtesans before her.
now caters solely to wealthy and/or powerful individuals. she's widely known for the golden veil she adorns herself with whenever she sets foot in public and is rumoured only to remove it in the company of lovers (and close friends). boasts her own group of servants to assist her in her day to day tasks, but almost always prefers to take charge where possible.
the ultimate dream is to relocate to a cosy home overlooking the coast and spending her days reading and drinking tea, preferably in the company of her parents. whether or not this is achievable, she's not absolutely sure but hopes that it is.
/ MISC.
gifted with a pair of ornamental fans by a former lover. to the unsuspecting eye, there's nothing remotely dangerous about them, but upon closer inspection, the tips have been sharpened to a point where they can inflict serious damage. she's never had to wield them in such a way (yet), but feels more at ease if she has the fans in her possession.
incredibly affectionate. considers herself to be the best hugger, adores holding hands, and becomes lowkey sad when people reject her attempts to hug during difficult moments. internally feels like this towards the rejection:
is slowly coming to terms with the fact that marriage is not for her. it's a combination of a) who'd want to marry a courtesan anyway? + b) the fear of potentially losing her freedom or ability to do what she pleases. still, she won't decline an invite to any weddings! invite her, pls.
finds the sea comforting — the sight, sounds, scent. catch her casually going for a (skinny) dip when things are particularly stressful.
/ CONNECTIONS.
former/current lovers, fellow friends from la serine, sibling-like r/l, people she would've met from her days @ the circle, maybe the person responsible (or knows the person) who basically screwed over her father 👀, does anyone need a confidante? lena's all ears (and values confidentiality dw), a lil girl squad i beg, exes — maybe angsty bc of her job, the usual friends/enemies, etc — we can definitely brainstorm more !!!

Hui - Surprise visit - M
WARNING: DETAILED SMUT SCENES AND FOUL LANGUAGE AHEAD!
Author’s note: Happy new year Co-universes! Hui is the second to the last for The Boyz and Pentagon one-shot smut collection ROUND 1/ BOOK 1. I hope you will like my scenario for Hui! :)
Y/N has a friend named Serin and she is a fan of Pentagon. But sometimes, Y/N is becoming curious about Pentagon and she checked out their photos and as time goes by, she also became a fan of them. Then there is one time, Serin called Y/N over in her place and she went in her friend's place and…
“Why did you call me here, Serin?” Y/N asked.
“Can I ask you a favor?” Serin asked.
“Okay! What is that?” Y/N said and her friend suddenly gave a box that was wrapped like a gift.
“Can you deliver this gift to someone, and I will give the address where you should deliver this gift,” Serin said and Y/N raised one of her eyebrows.
“Why me? You can be the one who should deliver that gift. Also, whom are you going to give this gift?” Y/N said.
“Umm… I am sorry but I don’t want to tell you, Y/N,” Serin said and Y/N sighed.
“I don’t know why you chose me to deliver this gift to someone,” Y/N said.
“Just deliver it, Y/N. Please! I am shy to go to his place,” Serin said.
“Gosh! Fine! I will deliver this gift quickly today. Just send me the address,” Y/N said and Serin smiled at her and gave the address to her. As Y/N went to the location, she saw many gifts are in front of the house and…
"Wow! It seems he is a celebrity, huh? I think I should just place it here also," Y/N thought and placed the gift in front of the gate of the dorm. But she didn't know a group of boys was checking out the CCTV camera that was installed near the gate of their dorm and it was Pentagon.
“Wow! She is a beautiful fan of ours and she is the only fan who placed the gift in person while the other gifts are delivered by someone else who is not probably a fan,” Yanan said.
“You’re right, Yanan! I wonder who is her favorite member? I think we should get the gifts and check them out. ” Hongseok asked.
"Sure! Let's go! Also, our fans might be upset if we didn't check out their gifts!" Hui said. Then all of them went outside and get the gifts quickly so, that they will not be seen by other fans. As they went inside their dorm, they are arranging the gifts by their names and…
“Did someone have the girl’s gift earlier?” Hui asked.
“It’s here!” Hongseok said and he checked out the name of the member’s name…
"The girl who placed the gift earlier is a fan of…." Hongseok said and all of the members are looking at him and anticipating that they will be chosen.
“Can you just hurry up, Hongseok!” Yeo One said and all of them laughed.
“Yeo One, don’t expect that it’s for you! because this is for Hui!” Hongseok said and Hui was surprised and smirked at them.
“I won guys! Haha!” Hui said.
"I am glad you saw your fan. The rest of us didn't see them for once, because they didn't place the gift in person. Oh well, just open it now," Hongseok said and Hui nodded and as he opened the box, he was shocked and suddenly closed the box and all the members are looking at him and…
"What is it, Hui? Tell us!" Hongseok said.
“Don’t tell us that it was an extraordinary gift,” Yeo One asked.
“What do you mean extraordinary gift?” Hongseok asked.
“I think it’s a naughty gift,” Yeo One said and the rest of the members laughed and Hui tried to laugh and…
"Ummm… Yeo One is right," Hui said and all of them became shocked.
"Oh! Can you show it to us?" Shinwon asked and Hui blushed and he just showed the thing inside the box and all of them became shocked again because it's a lingerie.
“Wow! That’s kinda creepy Hui. But it seems the girl that placed that gift is thirsty for you, huh?” Hongseok said and the rest of the members are teasing him.
“Can you stop teasing me!” Hui said and the rest of the members just laughed at him.
“You know, we can help you track down the girl who placed that gift to you. So, that you can meet her and talk about what she sent to you,” Yeo One said.
"How will you do that? Also, she doesn't have any note here in the gift," Hui said.
“We have the video of the CCTV camera and we can talk to the people who can trace the identity of the girl,” Hongseok said.
“Oh! You’re right! Let’s do that. So, that I can meet her and I will give what she wants from me,” Hui said as he smirked.
“Good luck, Hui! It seems we know already what you are planning. Am I right guys?” Yeo One said and the rest of the members agreed and slightly laughed at him.
“Don’t worry, Hui you can trust us that whatever plan you have for her, we will not tell it to others,” Shinwon said and Hui nodded.
“But where are you planning to meet her?” Yuto asked.
"I think I will just surprise her in her place. What you think guys?" Hui said.
"That's a great idea, Hui! But first, we should know who she is and where she lives," Yeo One said and Hui nodded. After a few days of knowing her identity and location, it was time for Hui to visit Y/N in her place. But he noticed that no one is inside her place and he suddenly got an idea to do a trick to know her password in her door and he finally opened it and went inside.
“I am sorry for the fan, that I will just go inside her place without her permission. I hope she will not think that I am a bad person when she will see me later,” Hui said to himself while he is checking out her place and…
"That's odd, I didn't even see one poster or album of our group, or is she just not fond of buying some of our merchandise but she is still our fan?Oh well, I don’t mind," Hui thought. It was already two hours since Hui came into her house and suddenly someone is opening the door and he decided to hide in her room as he sat in the bed and waited for her to go inside her room.
“I bet she will be very surprised that I am here,” Hui thought and smirked. As Y/N went inside her house, she didn’t notice a pair of shoes is in her doorway and when she went to her bedroom, and turn on the lights she was startled at Hui’s appearance.
“OMG! Is this Hui from Pentagon? He is handsome and hot!” Y/N thought as her jaw dropped and Hui smirked at her.
"We finally meet, Y/N! I bet you recognize me. Don't worry you're not dreaming I am Hui from Pentagon," Hui said and went closer to her, and Y/N became frozen at her position.
"W-what are you doing here?" Y/N asked and Hui's hands caressed her face and Y/N got goosebumps and Hui's other hand went behind her and closed the door behind her and locked it then his face is close to her ears and…
"I will tell you about it later, Y/N!" Hui said and he suddenly licked her earlobe and she moaned his name
“Oh shit! I didn’t expect as soon I met him today, he will be like this!” Y/N thought and Hui smirked at her.
“It seems you are really willing to give yourself to me huh? I like that! Clothes off now!” Hui said and Y/N’s eyes went wide.
“You will not obey me, or you want to get punished?” Hui said.
"Oh gosh! I don't know what I did to him and I really should know it later!" Y/N thought and she just undressed in front of Hui and he also removed his clothes and both of them stared at each other when they are already naked.
“Oh shit! He’s so hot!” Y/N said and Hui smirked at her.
“Like what you see, Y/N?” Hui said and he suddenly pushed Y/N into the bed and kissed her lips passionately and grind his cock to her core and she moaned from the kiss that made him slip his tongue into Y/N's mouth and dominated the kiss and one of his hands massaged her breast that made Y/N moan his name again. Then Hui's lips went to her neck as he licks and sucks a certain spot that made a hickey on it and he licked her earlobe.
“You are now mine, Y/N!” Hui said and Y/N just moaned in response.
"Oh gosh! I don't know what is really happening today! This must be Serin's fault too!" Y/N thought and her thoughts were cut-off when Hui dived into her breast and he sucked it harshly that made Y/N arched her back and Hui smirked at her action. But as he continued to give attention to her breast, he decided to insert two fingers to her and Y/N moaned loudly his name.
“Shit! M-more Hui!” Y/N said.
"As you wish, Y/N!" Hui said as he smirked at her and he decided to pump his fingers at her at a fast pace and Hui hummed in satisfaction as he saw that Y/N is now moaning his name non-stop.
“Fuck! You’re so hot when you’re like that!” Hui said. But when Y/N was about to cum in his fingers, he stopped at his action.
“Why did you stop? I am so close!” Y/N said.
"Eager, are we?" Hui said as he smirked at her and he suddenly gets a condom into his pants and put it in his cock that made Y/N gulped at the sight of his cock.
“Oh shit! He is so big! How will it fit that to me!” Y/N thought and Hui hovered above her.
"Ready for me, Y/N?" Hui said and Y/N gulped and just nodded. Then he slowly inserted his cock into her and Y/N yelped in pain and Hui looked at her with a worried face and…
“Are you okay? Did I hurt you?” Hui asked as he cupped her face.
“I am okay, Hui! I can bear the pain. You can move,” Y/N said and Hui nodded as he started to thrust his cock to her core at a fast pace and Y/N suddenly moaned his name loudly and gripped his biceps.
"Fuck! So, tight!" Hui said as he suddenly thrust his cock at a hard and rough pace at her. Then Y/N suddenly arched her back violently because of the overwhelming pleasure she felt and Hui's cock hits her g-spot numerous times that made her crazy and Hui smirked at the sight of her being in pure bliss.
"Shit! I love being inside of you!" Hui said as he continued at a stable pace and gripped her waist tightly which will surely bruise until the next day.
“Gosh! Hui! I will cum any moment!” Y/N said.
"Cum with me, Y/N!" Hui said. Then a few thrust of his cock to her, both of them moaned each other's name as they cum and Hui pulled out his cock to her, removed the condom to him, and threw it in the trash bin, and went back to lay beside Y/N and…
“Ummm… Hui, To be honest, I don’t know why are you here,” Y/N said.
"I am sorry If I suddenly came into your house without your permission and I did this to you as soon as we met. It was just because when you came in front of our dorm, I find you are beautiful when we saw you in the CCTV camera as you placed the gift for me in front of the gate," Hui said and Y/N was surprised at his statement.
“OMG! All of you have been watching me outside the dorm?” Y/N said.
"Yup! Haha! But we didn't expect that a fan will place the gift in person and all of the fan gifts are not delivered personally to us and all of us were surprised what was your gift to me," Hui said as he laughed at her.
"Ummm… To be honest, that gift is not from me," Y/N said and Hui stopped laughing and was shocked at her statement.
“What? But you are the one who placed the gift outside,” Hui said.
"I know, but it was my friend's gift to you and she just asks me a favor to deliver the gift to the address she provided me and I didn't know that it was Pentagon's dorm and I don't know what she gave to you. Mind to tell me, what she gave you?" Y/N said and Hui gulped.
“Your friend sent a lingerie to me,” Hui said and Y/N was shocked at his revelation.
"WHAT? Gosh! I am really sorry about my friend and I know she is a huge fan of Pentagon but I know it's kinda creepy that a fan gave you a naughty gift to you," Y/N said and Hui slightly laughed at her.
“It’s okay, Y/N! I understand. But are you also a fan of our group?” Hui said.
"I am not totally a fan of Pentagon, but I am starting to know each of your names since my friend keeps showing and introducing Pentagon to me, and sometimes, I checked out your group photos with the other members," Y/N said as she smiled at her.
"Oh! That's why I noticed you don't have albums or posters of us? But I want to ask if you are going to date one of us, who you are going to choose? Be honest with me, even though we already had sex today," Hui said as he smiled back at her and Y/N blushed.
“Ummm… I can say it’s you. Because I already noticed you at the first place when I am becoming more curious to Pentagon,” Y/N said and Hui was surprised at her answer.
“Really? Are you sure about that? It’s not because of what we did today?” Hui asked.
“Hui, I am not joking and I am sure about th---” Y/N was cut-off when Hui kissed her again passionately but they pulled out immediately from the kiss and Y/N blushed.
“Okay! Okay! It’s all clear to me now. So, it means that you will also accept me as your boyfriend today?” Hui asked.
“Huh? You really want me to be your girlfriend?” Y/N asked.
“Yes! I am glad that because of your friend we met each other. So, are you going to accept me or not?” Hui said.
“Of course, I will accept you! Well, I think my friend should choose other members,” Y/N said and Hui laughed at her.
“You’re right! Since you are now mine! I love you, Y/N!” Hui said.
“I love you too so much Hui!” Y.N said and both of them smiled at each other and Hui kissed her lips quickly and her forehead and he hugged her body close to him as they went to sleep.
"I didn't expect that Hui and I will be going to meet this way and I love him so much!" Y/N thought.

Lost in Hope
Summary: San fell in love but can't help the petals on the floor
Pairing: Choi San x Original Female Character
Words: 2,429
Genre: Angst
Chapter: 1/4
Next Chapter: coming soon...
The night is a beautiful time. Everything seems to be at peace, while the stars iluminate the streets of the small town with the support of the light of the street lamps. Some are scared of the darkness that comes with it, but if one manages to see the true beauty behind it, a whole different world opens up. Many things happen in the night, perfectly hidden in the shadows. The majority sleeps during this time, but not everyone does. Some people have to go work at night, some simply struggle to fall asleep and some just enjoy the silence that accompanies the dark. Hidden behind the walls of his home, there is also suffering. Sheltered by the sleeping ears around him as well as the protecting darkness. It is not the first time for such a tragedy to occur. It only reminded him of the fact that fate wasn’t on his side. It signalized him in the form of the dark purple petals that constantly fought their way up his throat, ripping the already sensitive flesh open to fall out of his chapped lips, tainted by a small shimmer of blood. For the first few minutes after it started, he couldn’t even cry. The petals kept flowing out of him like a waterfall, crashing onto the heartless bottom of the bucket which he kept with him. The bucket he kept with him because he perfectly knew this was going to happen next night as well. He was only able to start crying when every single little petal that touched his sensitive throat felt like a needle piercing through his flesh. It just hurt. It hurt so much, and he could never tell when it would stop. Sometimes he would just sit there for a few minutes, trying to gather those stupid petals in a panic, or hours with just staring and not knowing what to do, as if it would finally stop the next night, but it never did. He felt like he was trapped in an endless loop of suffering, and it felt like his throat was going to burst every time. When it eventually ended, he just fell to his knees in front of the bucket, drained of all his energy. He felt too weak to move, too drained, and all he could do was sit in front of the bucket, staring at the petals of the Aconite on the ground. Slowly, the pain in his throat seemed to leave, as his heart now yelled out in despair. He knew what this meant. He knew what it meant every single night, and still his tears wouldn’t stop falling as he felt that desperate ache longing for comfort. But he didn’t want to be comforted by just anyone. He wanted to be comforted by her. It was ridiculous. He just wanted to hear her say how these petals are false, how they are lying to him, and that he‘s just cruelly being pranked by reality. He wanted to hear her say that she loved him, and that she would take care of him. Even though these petals made him suffer like this, they were wrong and she would help him through the pain. He would take all the pain. He would take all the pain just to hear one of these sentences spoken from her mouth.
In the end he knew that would never happen. He knew he wasn‘t being pranked. This was his reality and he had already fallen to deep. Usually, these petals tell someone that the person they are interested in is not one who is going to feel the same. The petals are supposed to tell the affected person to move on quickly before they fall too deep. He had ignored the signs, and the first time that he noticed the petals, he was devastated. He didn’t want to believe it, it couldn’t be true. So he couldn’t get himself to move on. She was shy, and every time he talked to her, she was barely even able to look at him. He told himself that it was most likely because she actually despised him, but that didn’t stop him from trying to make her like him. It didn’t stop him from trying to make her love him, and at first, it seemed to work. Soon her answers didn’t seem as uncomfortable anymore, and with every passing day she looked at him more often, until he even managed to see her smile and he just felt so happy. He felt like he was finally changing his destiny, just like he always wanted to. She seemed to like him, too, but with every passing night, the petals got more severe. After a month, the petals he threw up started being accompanied by blood, and after half a year now, he just began to start crying as soon as he got home. It just hurt. It hurt so much. He got more quiet and no one ever questioned why, or at least that’s what it seemed like to him. Every word he spoke hurt, and his friends kept asking him why his voice sounded so rough, that it sounded like he had a bad cough. But instead of the truth, he just told them that he got sick. The only thing that helped was medicine he got from the pharmacy. They knew of cases like him, and they also knew that some of these cases never wanted to let go of this feeling. He was one of them. When he kept returning to the pharmacy every week to buy the same kind of medicine, the kind lady behind the counter couldn’t help the pity filling her eyes. She had tried multiple times to convince him to go to therapy, telling him that if his case was this severe then that would be the only way to get rid of it, but he just smiled at her. He just smiled at her with pain in his eyes, and it broke her heart every single time. "Please don’t worry, I can handle it, but have a nice day", and with these words, he left the pharmacy as always.
He started to take the medicine every day before school in order to be able to talk like he used to, and ever since he started this routine, no one had suspected a thing anymore. Yet it didn’t help him when he got home. As soon as he arrived at his home, his throat would start hurting so much that he just tried to sleep it off in his room. His family was worried, repeatedly asking him what was going on, but he just kept distancing himself from them further, even from his sister, and none of them understood why. He just told them that school was bothersome and tiring, which was the truth, just not in the way he made it sound like. His routine was to get home from school and then going to bed to sleep. He doesn’t even remember the last time he ate a proper meal. His whole diet now consisted of soup as well as any other soft food. He couldn’t get himself to eat properly anymore and he knew he was losing weight, but he couldn‘t see the point anymore.
This had been going on for a year now, and here he was sitting once again, crying because of the petals while leaning over the petals, as if he could try and cry the pain away, just like he did every night. He calmed himself down. He was used to this. So as per usual, he took the bottle and hid it like always. He would throw it into the trash bin two streets away from his home tomorrow so that no one would suspect it’s him to be the one using the bottle‘s contents. That’s how it would always go. Taking his medicine every morning, hiding the dark circles around his eyes with make-up, and walk to school.
But today was different. His usual routine was still the same, but his break was significantly different. He met up with Serin just like he did every day, or more like, he would go to the place she always sat alone at. For a few seconds he was just standing there, looking at her. It felt so unreal how she just sat there doing nothing, and yet it still made his heart beat so fast that he felt like throwing up. He gave himself a few seconds to calm down before he took a seat next to her once again, greeting each other quietly. Usually, Serin would be eating there in peace, but today she just stared at her food for a couple of minutes. Before San was even able to ask if anything was wrong, she spoke up. "Why do you always come over here? Don’t you want to hang out with your friends instead? You used to hang out with Yeosang and Wooyoung a lot, didn’t you?" San blankly stared at her for a few seconds, trying to formulate sentences in his brain that wouldn’t make him sound obvious or desperate. "They‘re too loud", he stated, and Serin looked at him in confusion. He knew he sounded weird, but it was the safest option he could come up with. "Don’t get me wrong, I love them, but we always meet up after school, so it's fine. And... Well, you always sit here alone, so I thought maybe you would like to have some company. I don’t know, sitting next to you is just nice. I hope it doesn’t make you uncomfortable". He tried to reason a bit, he knew that his words sounded slightly strange, but it was the only thing he was able to come up with. "No, you don’t make me uncomfortable. Well, honestly, it was really weird at the start, but I got used to your presence.” She smiled, and his heartbeat sped up again. He couldn’t help but stare at that smile. It wasn’t much, it was just a tiny smile, a smile that would appear when she would hear some stupid joke that wasn’t worth the attention. "I agree. It‘s kind of nice to just sit with you. I was just curious", and he couldn’t help but feel his heart beat so harshly. It wasn’t anything special and he knew he shouldn’t be reacting like this, but hearing her say that she liked his company meant so much to him. They usually didn’t speak much. Sometimes he would ask what she ate, or how her day went. Sometimes she would ask why he never had any food with him. She generally asked more about his reason why he did or didn‘t do things. Everything suddenly bottled up so quickly that he didn’t even notice when the oh so familiar feeling in his throat appeared again. When he finally did notice the first few petals climbing up his throat, all he could feel was panic, and he didn’t know what to do. So he just apologized and ran. He covered his mouth and just ran. Wooyoung‘s and Yeosang‘s gazes followed him as well, they noticed something was wrong.
He didn’t know where to go, so he just ran towards the trees where he knew no one would be. He knew it wasn’t the smartest hiding place he could have come up with, but he had no chance to even get anywhere else as the petals began to rush out of him again. They did so with such an intensity that he thought someone was forcing razor blades down his throat. It had never happened in school before, and he felt the anxiety inside him rising as he began to worry about someone seeing him in this state. That his well hidden secret would be laid out in the open now. He felt his tears crashing down onto the petals on the floor, soon followed by another wave of petals, and he just fell onto his knees, trying to hold himself up. But all the strain on his body caused by his barely existent food intake, the lack of sleep, and his never ending blood loss was just too much for him. His body collapsed before he could even finish getting the rest of the petals out of him. He just laid there, barely hidden behind some trees as if that would be enough to save him.
Of course he wouldn’t be left there. Serin didn’t know what happened when San suddenly ran away. She just sat there dumbfounded for a few seconds before she got up to run after him. Wooyoung and Yeosang who had also watched the scene unfold had a similar reaction. At first it was as if they froze at the unexpected behaviour displayed by their friend. Only when Serin ran after him, the both of them fell out of their trance and followed her as well.
When they saw him just lay there, with his head on the ground right next to the bloody petals, they were all just shocked for a couple of seconds. Serin was the first to react, kneeling down next to him to try and wake him up again. Of course all of them knew what the petals meant, but it was their first time to see them covered in blood, or to see someone faint because of them. Yeosang ran off to find a teacher to help, while Wooyoung sat next to Serin trying to find a way help somehow, but none of them knew what to do.
Everything after that happened very quickly. The teacher called an ambulance which would end up taking him to the hospital. A teacher accompanied him, informing his parents of the incident and waiting in the hospital until they arrived. The three followed the school counsellor, who ended up asking them if they wanted to go home after having experienced such a big shock. All of them took him up on his offer, but they also wanted to visit San right away. The school counsellor told them that for now only family members would be allowed to visit him, and the hospital would inform the school as soon as others are allowed to visit, so the counsellor promised to inform them as soon as they would be allowed to visit him as well.
With that, they were sent home. All of them were confused, it all still seemed like a bad dream, even though it happened right in front of their eyes.

Kuroko - Kagami x ? Part 1
Kagami,Kuroko, and Aonime were all in a relationship.Well...it was more like Kuroko was in a relationship with both of them and they just knew each other.
Kagami and Aonime never really liked each other because since they were so alike in basketball, they always had something to argue about, like one of them copping one another.Besides their style of basketball, there was another thing they had in common.A person they liked and that was...
Kuroko Tetsyua.
They both liked him and now that they were in a relationship with him, they had even more things to argue about.Sometimes they would argue about little things like the food he would eat or which one of them was going to cook for him. There was also bigger things like all three of them’s sex life.Since Kagami and Aonime didn’t like each other(like at all),they had to compromise on something.
The compromise was that they would have sex with Kuroko on certain days.Even though Kuroko like both of them and wanted everyone to like each other,he had to come to terms that they would never get along. So he agreed to the compromise.
It was a normal day at Serin High and Kagami and Aonime were having another basketball duel. They had ended up getting into another disagreement, and now they were taking their anger out on the court.
They had just finished another round and Aonime had won this one.
a - “Hah! Looks like you lose this time!”
k - “Yeah, this time!I am going to win this time. Can’t believe that I lose to someone like YOU!”
a - “WHAT DO YOU MEAN SOMEONE LIKE ME ASSHOLE!”
k - “Well I THOUGHT you were SMART,but I guess your’re not.ASSHOLE!”They were now in fighting position and Hyuga was trying to stop them from going any further, which failed.Kuroko was also trying to hold Aonime back. They were about to fight until some unknown voice chuckled.
Kagami knew that chuckle anywhere. He stepped down from fighting position and tears had started forming in his eyes. The rest of the team noticed and looked at him, trying to see if he was okay.Meanwhile he was thinking that that chuckle could only belong to one person.Kagami’s old chidlhood bestfriend.
Himuro Tatsyua.
h - “Looks like someone is the same as always.Getting into fights like old times.”The team looked at the person. He had Black short hair and one side of his hair was covering one side of his face.Kagami turned around and the tears were already rolling down his cheeks as he saw his old friend in the flesh.Looking at him like old times.
Himuro started walking towards Kagami with a smile. The team and even Aonime, were just watching everything that was happening.
h - “Awww.Why crying Taiga.Did seeing my pretty face make you cry?”he asked. He was finally standing in front of Kagami and he had a weak smile on his face.Himuro wiped the tears of his face with his thumb.Everyone was looking shocked.Anybody who knew of the threesome couple knew not to even touch Kagami and Aonime.
Now seeing this some of the team were looking at Kuroko who was looking like he was about to kill somebody.Meanwhile, the same question went through everyone’s head. Why wasn’t Kagami telling the man to stop. Then all of a sudden,Kagami hugged the man tightly, not wanting to let him go.
k - “H-h-himuro.Y-your back.”he said as crying into his friends shoulders.
h - “Im back Taiga.”he said as he was also hugging his friend back and stroking his hair.
r- “Ummmmm......what’s going on here and why are you crying Kagami?”Riko said.Kagami had forgot all about his teamates and boyfriend and Aonime. He pulled out of the hug wiping his tears and turning around.
k - “S-sorry guys.Umm,I want introduce you to somebody who is very important to me.”They all were very confused. They only knew of two things that were important to Kagami:basketball and Kuroko.
k - “This is Himuor Tatsuya,my childhood bestfriend.”

Asin, A Sin, As In
Then one fine day, someone knocked on your door. Thinking it was Hoshi who constantly pesters you with condiments because he claims he always forgets to buy one despite repeated reminders from you, you opened it after a couple of knocks.
There stood Kim Mingyu in all his glory notwithstanding that dejected look on his face. He sheepishly smiled at you. You stared at him, shock evident on your face. You kept on staring at him for a few seconds, that familiar pain came back crashing.
“S-Serin, I”, he started. “Who is it, eomma?” You heard Sua scurried to go closer to the door and see who was the person currently blocking the doorstep.
“Just no one, Sua”, “Sua--” You and Mingyu both muttered at the same time.
“Appa?” You never missed the excited tone on Sua’s voice. She brushed past you and instantly hugged Mingyu’s leg. “I miss you, Appa.”
Mingyu crouched down to hug Sua, his giant frame enveloped your daughter’s small body. “I miss you too, Sua. I very, very miss you” Mingyu’s voice cracked. You saw a trickle of tear rolled down Sua's cheek until it turned into a waterfall of tears. Sua tightened her hug on Mingyu’s neck and he started to shed tears too.
You stood there, dumbfounded over the sight before you. All this time, you thought that Sua never seek for a father’s love and affection. She did not give you any reason to think that you are lacking as a provider and a parent. You clutched your heart, tears threatening to fall from your eyes. Seeing her and Mingyu hug made you realize that your daughter is a very brave girl. She understood what you went through and that made her act like she was fine all along. You failed, you thought. I failed being a good mother to her.
Wonwoo noticed that you had not come back to the kitchen and neither did Sua so he stood up and went to see what took you both so long. He was first greeted by your shaking figure, sobs clearly audible from where he is. Then he noticed a man’s crouching figure holding tightly the little Sua.
He froze when the man finally lifted his face and revealed the face of the person he long dreaded not to see again. The man who broke your heart and the man who abandoned the angel he now claimed as his own daughter.
All color was drained from Mingyu’s face when he saw Wonwoo standing behind Serin. It did not take that long to put two and two together to figure out why Wonwoo was there, looking so domesticated and comfortable in his white shirt and a pair of black shorts. “What are you doing here, Wonwoo?” Mingyu asked, his voice a bit hoarse from too much crying. “That’s what I should ask YOU, Mingyu. What are you doing here? Where is Chaeyeon?”
“Sua..” that was the first thing you said after a while. You hurriedly walked to where your daughter was and pulled her gently towards you. Confusion was etched all over your child’s innocent face and a fresh wave of tears threatened to spill from your now red-rimmed eyes.
You carried Sua towards Jun’s bedroom, her little button nose now red and her sniffles frequent. You held her closer while you knocked at your brother’s door. After incessantly knocking for a few minutes, a baffled looking Junhui with headphones hanging around his neck and a roller brush in his right hand greeted you. “Hey sis— woah, what happened?” He shouted which earned a glare from you. “Wen Junhui, quit making your room a rock concert hall and take care of Sua first.” Before he can utter a single word of protest, you countered him. “Mingyu is here and I am going to talk to him so please..” you lightly pressed your temple and he nodded vigorously, which made you confused if he was still nodding or doing a headbang.
“Eomma~~” Sua tugged on the hem of your shirt and you turned to look at her pouting face. “Please don’t make Appa leave, please. I really missed him, eomma, please.” She pleaded while pouting. You sighed and patted her head. “Eomma will talk to you later baby, okay? Now be a good girl and play with Uncle Jun.” You cooed and she slowly nodded her head, her curls bobbing along. You closed the door and took a deep breath before going back to the living room, where a frantic looking Mingyu was seated on a couch. Wonwoo stood towering over him wearing a stern face and you cleared your throat to indicate that you were back.
“Serin..” Mingyu stood up and tried to wove his way towards you but Wonwoo blocked his way. “Wonwoo.. can you please leave me and Mingyu alone for a while?” “But—“ Wonwoo furrowed his eyebrows in disbelief. “I am fine, I can handle this.” You placed your hand on his arm as an assurance and smiled a bit. Wonwoo sighed and hugged you, which seemed to be his way of giving you the strength that you badly need. “Thank you,” a grateful smile was painted on your lips.
While Wonwoo was reluctantly making his way to Jun’s room, you sat on the couch where Mingyu was sitting, careful to create a comfortable distance between the two of you.
“Mingyu, what is this all about? What exactly are you doing here?” You started and he heaved a sigh. That was when you saw the black circles around his eyes and his defeated demeanor. “Serin, I am here to say sorry. Please come back to me.” He mustered that familiar puppy eyes and puppy sad face which you used to adore. You were not surprised by Mingyu’s bluntness. He was always a straightforward person, the very main reason why he did not waste any time to let you know that he likes you after your initial meeting. He wooed you using his Greek god face and irresistible charm. He was a force to reckon with and it led to a whirlwind romance. Not surprisingly, Sua came into the picture and what you envisioned of what would be a happy marital life was broken by a betrayal.
Mingyu interrupted your train of thoughts when he inched closer to you and attempted to hold your hand. You flinched at the contact which made him retract his hand with that dejected look on his face. “I’m sorry? That’s all you have to say after two years? Wow. You’re really impressive as a jerk, Kim Mingyu. You lived up to my expectations, even exceeded it.” You scoffed and smirked. You willed yourself to put up a brave act. ‘He’ll never get under my skin and mess with me again. Not anymore.’ You mused.
“Serin, let me explain. Please.. I.. I have a lot of things to tell you. I admit, I was being a jerk and a big airhead all this time but I am here because I don’t want to continue living a lie.” You frowned. ‘A lie? What the hell is he talking about?’ Curiosity got into you and as much as you want to drive his humongous frame out of your apartment, numerous questions sprang from your brain and you never wanted to have all the queries answered, not until this moment. “What do you mean?” You carefully tread into that unfamiliar path of uncertainty but chose to take the plunge.
“I’m not happy with the way I live anymore. I feel suffocated. I thought I would be happy if I achieved my goals but all I felt was emptiness. My biggest regret was letting go of my two greatest happiness in life, all in exchange for fame and comfortable life.” Mingyu sounded remorseful that you suddenly had the urge to enclose him with your warm embrace but you decided otherwise. You need to see the end of this and succumbing to his vulnerable state was the last thing you wanted to do.
“It took you two years to feel regret.” You sneered in disbelief. “You know how I can be, Serin.” Mingyu said in a low tone. “I am ambitious and persistent. I won’t stop till I get what I want. So I held on for so long, until I forgot what I was actually working hard for.” His voice cracked. Your heart felt heavy. This is indeed the Mingyu you knew. He can be persistent to the point that he would blindly follow his instinct for the sake of his ambitions. You used to admire how he carried himself. So sure and so confident, an icon of strength and real character. He was the opposite of what you were. You were often mired by insecurities and he was your pillar. Yet before you knew it, his head was up in the clouds and you and Sua were left on the sidelines.
“When I found out that you and Sua were gone, I actually went to look for you but after a month, I felt so hopeless that I gave up. But I did not give up because I don’t want you back. I chose not to look for you because I know I will hurt you again. I was confused, I was hurt, I was ashamed.” A single trickle of tear rolled down his cheek again. “Imagine if I found you but I was still that stupid jerk who would drop you like a hot potato whenever it is convenient. I struggled to make amends with myself but I am messed up. So I drowned myself with work, alcohol and.. Chaeyeon.” Hearing her name coming from his lips made you flinch. You hated her, no, you loathe her. She was the home wrecker. Despite knowing that you and Sua exist, she snaked her way towards your boyfriend.
“I wanted to take the easy way out and made her my distraction. I thought she could help me deal with myself. I knew it was wrong. I was so fucked up that I agreed with her set up. She said she was willing to be my stress reliever, that she would help me sort out my feelings. I was so stupid that I believed her. I.. Serin, I don’t know what to do. With you and Sua gone, I was struggling to keep my sanity. I made an excuse that being with her would make me discern who my true love is. I used her, she used me.” He laughed bitterly.
“I was her trophy boyfriend. She would show me off to the world. At first I felt happy. She was a famous designer and I am a budding modelling superstar. The perfect pair so they say. We were the power couple. I basked in fame and glory. But things spiraled down a year ago. I got exhausted because she became very demanding. She controlled me. I thought it was okay before but a year ago, that was when I came to know that I made the biggest mistake of my life.”
You gingerly raised your hand and tapped Mingyu’s back to comfort him. His head which was hung low quickly lifted to scan your face. You felt sympathy, blame your empathic self, and you know that it was visible in your face that you are gradually softening up. “I shouldn’t be feeling this way, Kim Mingyu.” You whispered quietly. “Serin, I came here to tell you that I am willing, no, I am going to make it up to you, by hook or by crook.”
“Gyu..” You said and he smiled. He knew that he had started to break down your walls again. “I don’t want to give you a chance immediately.” His face fell. “Can you imagine what we went through because of your selfishness? I was devastated when I knew that you and Chaeyeon became an item. You used to assure me that it was all work but your actions convey otherwise. When we left, I want to bawl my eyes out and neglect my self. But I can’t, I freaking can’t because I need to be strong for Sua. I can go through the heartache and be whole again but I have to feel the pain twice as much because my kid lost her father.” You clutched your heart and willed yourself to cry but tears won’t fall from your eyes. All you felt was hollowness and a tinge of pain in your heart.
“I’m really sorry, Serin.” Mingyu panicked when he saw you clutch your heart. “If only I could turn back time, I will think about my decisions carefully. Damn, I’m such an idiot.” He silently cursed and moved slowly towards you. He gradually wrapped his arms around you. You did not fight it anymore, you were too weak to move and whether you admit it or not, you missed his scent, his warmth, basically everything about him.
Your hands moved on its own accord and you found yourself embracing Mingyu with all your might. It’s like you are afraid that he will be gone again if you don’t hold him very close. Mingyu warmed up in your embrace and began to whisper sweet nothings in your ear. You closed your eyes and nestled your head on his neck, gently breathing in his addictive scent.
Your embrace lingered for a little while. Mingyu did not dare to move for fear that the spell would be broken and he will be pulled back to the reality again. Hugging you was like holding his universe. He was scared to let you go but he knew that a lot of things need to be fixed. Holding you close one last time, he slowly pulled away from your embrace and lifted your chin to meet your eyes. You’ve never felt comfortable like this way before. Looking again at Mingyu’s eyes felt like the first time that you were sucked into his brown orbs. His eyes were your favorite part of his face. It always has a mischievous glint but also the warmth which made you feel like home. Gazing back at him, you can never deny the fact that he was, he still is and will be your home.
“This is like a dream come true, babe. I never thought I will get to experience your warmth again,” Mingyu started and you smiled despite yourself. “but I know I have to prove myself again to earn your trust. I am glad that you will give me a chance.. Wait, will you give me a chance?” His thick brows furrowed and you giggled. Mingyu always has the tendency to think ahead and his babbling almost always got him into trouble. You hid your face on his neck while still giggling quietly. ‘How can he be so cute?’ You thought. ‘And why do I have the urge to just forgive him right now? Argh.’ You mentally facepalmed. Trying to contain your giggling fits coupled with your nagging thoughts, you looked up to him with a bashful smile. You nodded, albeit vigorously, to make it less obvious that you are still willing to risk everything for this man.

Is this alright for a mchanzo prompt: Hanzo is a mermaid who recently migrated in an area near a beach. He gained the habit of people watching in hiding whenever he passes by. One day a new life guard arrives who is none other then Jesse. Hanzo begins to be fascinated by mccree and starts visiting the beach more often then usual. Mccree begins take notice of Hanzo And starts getting curious about this strange man at the distance. This continues on until Mccree decides to meet the man in person.
(I took a few liberties when writing this but i hope it suffices my dude. This and my other Mermaid McHanzo au may get sequels. We’ll see huehuehuehue))
McCree thought he was going insane. Almost everyday while he was at the beach, doing his job of making sure all the swimmers were safe and no surfers were getting eaten alive by sharks, he just saw out of the corner of his eye, farther out in the water than anybody else, a man. Just the top of his head and his almost hypnotic eyes just barley poking out of the water, but every time he looked away or something else caught Jesse’s attention, the other seemed to disappear entirely. Fareeha blamed it on the heat, telling him to drink more water or even go swimming himself every few hours. Gabe agreed, actually making sure Jesse drinks more water, almost forcing him on a schedule.
But none of that changed, Jesse still saw that mysterious figure, if not more often now. It was starting to get incredibly annoying, never fully knowing if it was or wasn’t an actual person.
Finally, one day, he got his answer.
One day when the beach was empty, Jesse only there in the off chance someone did decide to go swimming or have a picnic in the rain. Fareeha and Gabe were at their own posts miles away, and he sat in an enclosed booth, watching out the window while being completely bored out of his mind. The rain was heavy and relentless, pounding on the roof over his head. He heard thunder, seeing lightning far in the distance to accompany the loud booming. And that’s when he saw him. The only person for miles just peering out of the water, his entire head out of the waves this time.
Black hair plastered to skin, those hypnotic drown eyes and chiseled cheek bones that all added up to make the most beautiful man Jesse had probably ever seen. And possibly the most suicidal. The waves were getting more and more rough, more and more dangerous. Jesse actually saw the man go under and he got straight into action.
He grabbed his floatation device, quickly shedded his hoodie and hat, before he darted down the beach and towards the salt water. It was absolutely freezing as he stepped in, but he couldn’t let that stop him. He was sure that he’d be taking the hottest bath physically possible when he got home. He dove in soon, all the blood in his body turning into ice, but as soon as he started swimming, it helped him force through the rough and thrashing currents. His arms felt like they were getting heavy, and he felt like he was getting no where. His body was being moved and directed into every direction instead of the one he wanted to go towards. It was getting more and more difficult to see the other, and by this point, he wasn’t sure if he would get there in time. He wasn’t sure if he would get back to the beach with intact lungs.
Before he knew it, shore was too far to go back to, the waves were getting high and his legs just couldn’t carry him any farther. He couldn’t even see what happened to the other out here, and he assumed that he was just insane. No one was here, Jesse was alone and freezing. All he could do was just hold on to his floatation device and hope that this storm doesn’t last for too long. His lower body went limp and he prayed that a miracle happened, Gabe coming to check on him, the waves calming, hell, just confirmation that he wasn’t insane and alone might make things even the tiniest bit more sufferable. He looked back once more and saw that the shore wasn’t even visible. He was out to far.
“This is how i die,” He said to himself. “Just because I’m a fucking fool who didn’t see nothin.” He closed his eyes, just ready to drown because of his stupid decisions. That was when, something below the water just barely brushed against his foot, and he went into full blown panic. He wasn’t going to drown, he was gonna be fucking eaten. How could things get any better? He didn’t try to fight when he was pulled under, he just closed his eyes and prayed to any god up above that he may have the slimmest chance on being let into heaven.
He waited for something. Pain, the feeling of being crushed, air leaving his lungs, but nothing. None of that happened. He was scared to open his eyes, but he did. And he almost let out the only air in his lungs from disbelief.
It was him, the guy who he’d been catching glimpses of for the past month or so, in front of him. And Jesse wasn’t quite sure if this was real. A long snake like tail with blue scales made up the others lower half, and gills were on either side of the others torso. One of his arms was covered in a tattoo, blue, gold, and intricate. Jesse had firmly believed he died and was seeing an angel, but when the other suddenly kissed him, it planted him in the real. This was reality, and he was being kissed by an honest to god mermaid. It was warm, tender, and Jesse was frozen again, not by the cold water that surrounded him, but by the sheer fact that it was the best kiss anyone had ever given him in his life.
The other pulled away and he forgot to hold his breath. He didn’t need too. Without realizing it, Jesse inhaled water, and he wasn’t dead. He gripped at his neck in disbelief, panicked that he would drown if he did it again, but he never did. The mermaid chuckled a bit, seeing how confused Jesse was at the new development. Eventually, he calmed down, all dread had left his body and he felt almost at ease in the others presence. The waves above them still crashed and were chaotic, but below, it was calm. It was as if nothing bad could happen below them, that this space was calm and forever would be serine.
Before he could think, Jesse’s prosthetic was being pulled on, the other seemingly wanting to lead the other to somewhere else. He couldn’t exactly say no, so he nodded, just letting himself be dragged along by the other to wherever it was he planned to take them. It wasn’t a long swim, just a few minutes and Jesse could see where he was being lead. A small cove just on the other side of his beach where kids usually came out to smoke without being bothered by their parents. Jesse knew that because he was one of those kids. They finally poked their heads out of the water, Jesse climbing up on a rock that jutted out that was just a few feet from the sand. He was shivering, but at least in this small covered section, he was out of the rain.
“ You‘re an idiot, for swimming in this weather,” the mermaid said, and Jesse was surprised. He wasn’t sure he could, let alone speak English. And the fact that he was being scolded made it even stranger. The mysterious figure climbed up on the rock with Jesse, sitting next to him. He was down right gorgeous and Jesse’s cheeks went red. Well, redder than they already were.
“Well, excuse me for wanting to save someone i thought was drowning. Real rude of ya, i must say,” McCree retorted, pulling his legs up to his chest to conserve as much body heat as possible.
“I apologize. I just wanted to watch, i did not intend for you to actually come out and find me,” he spoke again. His voice was low and stern, but still held a semblance of charming to it.
“What do ya mean watch?” McCree asked.
“I’m not from around here. I landed here weeks ago and didn’t expect to see handsome land dwellers every day on the beach. I thought i might as well watch them and take in the…scenery,” he answered with a small laugh. Jesse would have never had guessed that a mermaid would be flirting with him. He’d never expected to see an actual mermaid. Today was a day for firsts.
Jesse was visibly shivering, he couldn’t stay out in these wet clothes and in this weather for long. They both knew that. Jesse stood up, wobbling as he stepped off the rock and walked to the beach. He didn’t want to leave, he had so many questions that he needed to be answered, but if he stayed, he’d probably never see his family jewels ever again. He could see it in the other’s eyes too, he didn’t want Jesse to leave.
“Ya got a name?” Jesse asked, rubbing his arms for any kind of warmth.
“Hanzo,” he said bluntly. “And what do they call you?”
“Jesse. Jesse McCree.“
“Well, Jesse McCree, is this where we part ways?” Hanzo inquired.
“Hanzo, i promise, i will see you again. Just next time, don’t make it so i almost have to drown to make that happen.” Jesse always kept his word, he never went back on a promise, and he sure as hell wasn’t gonna miss out on seeing Hanzo again.
“Well. I think i can arrange for that. How about here, tomorrow. At sunset,” Hanzo offered, his tail almost twisting. His stoic expression may have hid his excitement, but his tail was a dead giveaway of his enthusiasm.
Jesse nodded, reaching to tip his hat but he remembered it wasn’t there. He smiled a bit before he answered.
“See ya then.” After he spoke, Jesse left back for his station. It was May and he cranked the heating all the way up, put on dry clothes, and answered all of Gabe’s calls. He tuned out all the yelling and his mind drifted to thinking about tomorrow. He couldn’t wait.

Word Count: 2365 Rating: This chapter: G. Unfortunately, as it turns out, that’s a lot harder to do in a world of werewolves. Notes: Takes place 1 year after Animalistic began. Still no wives; Rhett and Link are in an established relationship. This is a sequel to that fic. You don’t have to read that first, but it is highly recommended.

First Chapter Previous Chapter
Link enjoyed a bit of manual labor now and then. Despite his reputation for being klutzy he was pretty skilled with his hands. Tearing up the old, stained rug upstairs didn't exactly call for finesse anyway, and it provided him an outlet for his pent up energy; he always had extra during the moons. It was satisfying to hear the rip of the carpet with every sharp tug, feel the matting come up from the floorboards.
The wood underneath was probably very nice once but was now covered in nail holes and splashed paint, along with some other random stains. Link was already thinking about how they could replace it as he finished the upstairs bedroom and moved on to the hallway. He had just made it past the upstairs bathroom when he heard a truck pull into the driveway. Confused, he brushed off the dust from his hands before heading down to the front door to greet any would-be visitors.
A quick glanced outside told him it wasn’t the silver FJ cruiser he and Rhett shared nor Theo’s brown bronco. It took him a split second to recognize it was Seth’s giant, red truck. He didn’t see Seth himself, however, just Damian at the door. The short, round-faced man walked confidently up to the wrap-around deck and strode over to the front door before knocking firmly twice.
“Hey, Damian,” Link greeted, upon opening the door. “If you’re looking for Theo he’s at his bar.”
“Actually I was hoping to speak with you and Rhett; see how you two was doing.” He glanced inside, his nostrils flaring slightly.
“We’re doing fine. Rhett just went into town to grab some supplies.” Link was doing his utmost to be polite, but he didn’t like this unexpected visit to his and Rhett’s private sanctuary; especially when he was here alone.
“I’m not trying to be rude, I promise.” Damian shifted his weight, sensing Link’s unease and stepping back half a step. “Devon really is concerned for you and your lot. We just want to make sure you guys are staying safe.”
“We’ve been just fine by ourselves for quite sometime now.” Link’s politeness was a bit strained, but Damian didn’t seem to notice. “Rhett was turned last year, attacked by a rogue werewolf and we didn’t hear from you guys then.”
“We are sorry about that but you have to understand…” The shorter man looked apologetically up at Link. “It’s not like we weren’t in contact with the area. Theo himself told us everything was under control. He encouraged us to stay up North and not help out. He said he would handle it.” Link didn’t know what to say to that. It had not occurred to him that Theo had spoken to the Lowell pack at all since he and Rhett had met the him.
“When was this?”
“Shortly after your friend was attacked. We heard about it real fast.” This gave Link pause as he considered this new information. “May I come in?”
“Yeah, sure,” Link nodded. “Sorry about the state of the place.” He stepped back and gestured towards the dining room to the side. “It was a bit run down when we bought it, but it’s coming along. Want something to drink? Water? Beer?” Damian wiped his shoes on the doormat before stepping in.
“Water would be nice,” he replied, following Link to the chairs at the dining room table. Like the rest of the house, the dining room still needed a lot of work before it would be presentable, but the table and chairs were in good condition. Rhett and Link had found them in an antique store a few weeks after buying the place. While Damian sat down, his host went into the neighboring kitchen to wash his hands and get them both something to drink.
“How long have you been a werewolf?” Link asked when he got back, handing his guest a glass and sitting in a chair beside him.
“All my life, Link. That’s what being a purebred means,” Damian explained. “My father was a werewolf, and my mother. I think my grandmother on my father’s side was a human, but that’s not uncommon. You keep breeding only wolves and you’ll quickly have inbreeding. There just aren’t that many of us these days.”
“Right. Purebreds," Link nodded. "Theo mentioned that. He’s a good teacher, I’m just not always the best student. Rhett though… He’s his prized pupil.” Link tried not to sound to bitter about that.
“I’m sure you’re a good student,” Damian assured him. “I just think you’re education is lacking down here. There’s so much you and your friend need to know to survive in this world.”
“We’ve managed.”
“That you have," Damian agreed. "I’ll give ya that, but that could have been just luck. Just ‘cause you and your friends dealt with one rogue werewolf by yourselves doesn’t mean you’re prepared to deal with others.”
“Others?” The idea of more rogue werewolves in the area made him a little sick to his stomach. Dealing with one was bad enough.
“There’s very little in the werewolf world that our pack doesn't hear about, especially so close to our territory,” Damian continued. “There are dozens of rogue mutts living in california alone, unsupervised, unchecked. Now I’m sure most of them are fine, decent people. Most of the time. But when the full moon comes out, so does the beast, and anyone who doesn’t understand how to control it… well, they’re dangerous.
Frankly, I’m surprised a young wolf like yourself was able to take down a veteran.”
“I didn’t,” Link admitted. “I was there, sure, but it was all Rhett and Theo.”
“What happened?” Thinking back, Link could remember the events of that night clearly. He would never forget, though sometimes he wished he could.
“I don’t know much. I was waiting in the car for the guys to come back from finding the werewolf that had been killing people. It was almost dawn when I saw it coming out of the forest. If it weren’t for Rhett, it probably would have killed me. He stabbed it with a silver dagger.”
“Rhett was in human form?” Damian guessed.
“Hybrid.”
“Rhett’s able to transform into a hybrid? That’s quite an accomplishment for someone so young.” Link didn’t respond. He looked down at his water as he sipped it, slowly. “Can you do it too?”
“No I… Not for very long.” Link frowned. “I think about sixty seconds is my record.”
“I wouldn’t feel too bad about it. Most mutts can't even do it at all.” Damian gave Link a nice smile. “I can help you, if you like.”
“Can you become a hybrid?”
“All purebreds can. We start learning about controlling our form even before our first change. We’re raised since birth to be werewolves. It’s more than just a monthly thing. We embrace it completely because it’s who we are. Because of that, we are very good at transforming between wolf, human, and hybrid during the moons. I can help you do that, too.”
“You’ve taught many mutts?” Link chuckled. Damian nodded with a knowing grin.
“A few,” he admitted. “I even taught Theo, actually. I don’t know if he told you, but he used to be part of our pack.”
“He doesn’t talk much about your pack. In fact, he didn’t mentioned you guys at all before you showed up the other day. He doesn’t talk much about his past ever, really.” Link scrunched his face, thinking about this. He always trusted Rhett, and Rhett always seemed to trust Theo. Since he was the only other werewolf they even knew existed, aside from the one that turned the two internetainers, it often seemed that they had to trust him. He was all they had and they took him at his word. Now, knowing that there were others… it made him think. How much did they really know about this bartender?
“Well, it’s not my place to talk about it, but let’s just say that Theo wasn’t one for following the rules. Up until now, Devon’s let him be, but it seems like things are just getting worse down here.”
“What does this Devon want with us? Rhett and me?”
“He’s our pack leader, and he’s in charge of several packs in the whole Northwest.” Damian pointed upwards for emphasis. “He just wants to make sure that everyone stays safe and follows the rules. You follow the rules, keep the werewolf secret a secret, and you guys won’t have no trouble. That’s all. Live and let live, as they say. Personally, I hope you two will have a more active role in the pack.”
Link was looking down at the empty glass in his hands, thinking about all the new information that was now rattling around in his head, when he heard another car pull up into the driveway. He looked out the front window in the dining room and saw the FJ cruiser pull up besides the truck. It was Rhett. He couldn’t help but smile at the sight, a serine, content smile that came from having his security blanket back with him once more. Damian saw the car as well but his smile was a bit more forced. Pushing his water aside, he got to his feet. Link followed suit and led the way to the front door to greet Rhett.
“I probably should get going,” Damian was saying.
“You don’t want to tell Rhett what you told me?”
“You can tell him just fine. It’s getting late and there’s another full moon tonight. I should be getting back. Have to get ready for the run tonight. You should come with us. See what living as a real werewolf is like.” They stopped at the door just as Rhett came in. He glanced at the two men before him, looking slightly confused at to why Damian was here.
“Uh, hey um…”
“Damian,” Link reminded him.
“Damian.” Rhett offered his hand, mostly out of habit, and shook the visitor’s hand. “How’s it going?”
“Not bad,” Damian replied. “Just stopped by for a quick visit. I was just leaving.” He turned back to Link. “If you want to come, we turn at our place. Big brown house at the end of Pilot Road. Can’t miss it.” His eyes focused completely on Link as he said this, not even sparing a glance at Rhett, which didn’t go unnoticed.
“I’ll think about it,” was all Link could think of to say.
“Cool. See ya, then.” He gave a courteous nod to Rhett. “Rhett,” he said.
“Goodbye, Damian.”
Once the visitor had left, and was completely out of earshot, Rhett spoke to Link.
“What did he want?” he asked. “He invite you to a party or something?” Link rolled his eyes as he picked up the glasses and set them in the kitchen.
“He invited me to ‘run with the pack’, I believe. I’m not going,” he quickly added, seeing the look in Rhett’s eye. “I don't want to spend my moons with anyone but you. Besides-” He leaned against the kitchen counter to look up at his boyfriend- “until I learn to control my hybrid form I don’t think it would be safe to go anywhere while I’m changed.”
“Is that all he wanted?” Rhett didn’t want to be suspicious of what amounted to their werewolf neighbors, but he couldn’t shake the feeling that they weren’t as friendly as they seemed. His earlier conversation with Theo didn’t help either.
“He offered to help me master the hybrid form.”
“You don’t need his help,” Rhett promised. “You’re doing fine on your own.”
“That’s easy for you to say,” Link grumbled. “You already mastered yours. I’ve been a werewolf for just as long as you had been when you learned.” He turned to look down at the sink, sighing at himself. “I’m sick of losing myself every month. I want… I want to remember. I want to be with you.” Rhett stepped up behind him, wrapping his arms around Link’s waist and nuzzling the side of his neck.
“You’ll get there. You have to be patient. In the meantime you are with me. Even if you don’t remember, you are, and I’m with you.” He breathed deeply, inhaling the scent of his boyfriend, enjoying it like no human ever could. Link felt a little better, holding Rhett’s arms with his own and letting himself be held. After a moment, Rhett continued. “In the meantime, I think you should steer clear of Seth and his brothers. From what Theo’s told me, they are bad news.” Link frowned.
“You trust Theo?” he asked, softly. He felt Rhett pause, surprised.
“Of course I do. He’s been with me from almost the beginning.” Link turned in Rhett’s embrace, his arms held up between them but not pushing him away.
“I just wonder, what do we really know about him? I mean we’ve known him for like a year and I feel like we barely know him at all.”
“Did Damian say something?” Rhett asked, eyebrows furrowed.
“No, not really I just… Think about it. How did he become a werewolf? How does he know the Lowells? I think maybe we should learn more about the situation before we trust him with our lives.” Now it was Rhett’s turn to frown. He didn’t like Link questioning Theo’s loyalty, or trustworthiness. Theo was his friend, their friend, and he trusted him implicitly. If he hadn’t, he probably wouldn’t have made it past his second moon.
“I trust him,” he stated with certainty. Link bit his lip, not entirely convinced. “You trust me, don’t you?”
“Of course. Without question.” Rhett held him closer.
“Then trust me on this. I have faith that Theo is our friend and that we can count on him. He hasn’t done us wrong and I know we can count on him.” Link nodded, but inside he still wasn’t sure. He did trust Rhett. He always would, but Theo was still such a stranger to him. There was still so much they didn’t know.
Until he had all the pieces, Rhett was the only person he trusted.

Delivery
Pairing: ENHYPEN’s Jay x OC [Kierra] Genre: college!au, slice of life, slight fluff Word Count: 3,203 Summary: Kierra has been tasked to make two deliveries to Heeseung and Jake at the requests of their secret admirers, Serena and Melanie, respectively! She informed them that they should do it, but things come up. Still, the only reason she's reluctant is because she'll have to see Jay again despite hanging out with him earlier. Part 1: Tattoo Part 2: Mine Part 3: I Know
Warning: curse words
oh, look! it's another Jay x Kierra adventure... what a surprise, not lol anyways, you don’t have to read the others but go for it to understand the context in here. ^^ ENHYPEN got me addicted and again, got me in a mood to write so why not and keep at it... but Jay for reals be doing something to me lol um, i think about it so yeah, that's about it. happy reading! kthxbai , Admin Lia~
Kierra was currently standing in the middle of her room with various gift-wrapping materials on the floor around her when she heard a knock on her door while deciding on which gift to wrap up first.
"Come in." She responded with her focus still on the items before her.
"Hey, oh? Perfect. Can you wrap a gift for me?"
Kierra heard her friend, Serena, ask and instantly responded without facing her.
"No."
"Oh, c'mon. You're basically doing it right now."
"How would you know that? I could just be organizing before putting it all away."
"Nayoung mentioned something earlier about you doing gifts."
"Psh, whatever. I'm still gonna put them in a bag though. Linna knows how to wrap better than I can. Ask her. Chaeyeon, Yonghwon, and Serin aren't bad either. Actually, like the others are able to wrap better than me. Ask them to do it."
"Majority of them are out and about while the others have studying to do. They told me to ask you instead since you're the most freed up one."
"Wow. Why?"
"Linna said you had materials already when I messaged her earlier today. Anyways, Kierra, I really need this wrapped up or whatever it is that you like to do. It'll be great if you can do it right now. Please and thanks."
Kierra turned her head to look over at Serena with a long and thin white box in hand. She quirk a brow at her friend.
"It's already in a box though. Just put a bow on it and it's done."
Serena rolled her eyes while coming closer and set the box on Kierra's desk.
"That's no fun and I'm sure I would destroy the box or wrapping paper in the process if I'm the one that's doing it."
"Did you just buy it recently?"
"Yeah, online. How would you know that?"
"Oh, I see. Because that's how you are."
"Ah, true, but why'd you ask?"
"I was gonna say that you could've had the employees do it for you there, but nevermind."
"Yeah, I thought the same thing, too, but it's already here. So, please?"
"Fine."
She reluctantly agreed as Serena patted her on the back.
"Thanks."
"Welcome, but buy me one of those squishmallows doll for Christmas and we're good."
"Jay could get you that."
Kierra scowled.
"He has something else planned even though I told him not to."
Serena laughed.
"That sounds like him, but okay. Deal."
"Cool. By the way, is it for a male or female? Or does it matter?"
"Uh, male, please."
"Okay."
Kierra reached towards a clear, cylinder container for a tag, and handed it to Serena with a marker.
"Write his name and I'll attach it to the present."
"I can't. He'll recognize my handwriting immediately." Serena states with a serious face.
Kierra frowned.
"But it's a gift for him. Of course he should know the person that gift it to him."
Kierra suddenly recalled something and cast her friend with a cheeky grin.
"Ooh, it's for Heeseung, isn't it? That's why you don't want to write his name yourself."
Serena rolled her eyes, but an obvious smile graced her face.
"Yes, it is. By the way, could you hand it to him by the end of the day, too?"
Kierra's eyebrows furrowed.
"Why can't you give it to him instead?"
"I still want to remain anonymous for the time being and I have to help Jiyeon with budget stuff since I miscounted my sorority activities. It's gonna take up a lot of my time."
"Wow, seriously?"
"Yeah. I thought I got enough, but I'm missing like a full week's worth of hours. So yeah, Kierra, make a delivery and you can even see your lovely boyfriend."
Kierra eyed Serena.
"I was just with him an hour ago. I'm good."
"Oh yeah? Well, then, okay, thanks, and bye!"
Serena shot her friend a smile before running away, laughing and closing the door soon after her. Kierra just shook her head with a laugh before staring at the gift.
"I'll package it, but I ain't gonna see Jay again right now and not so soon, anyway."
"So, that's done."
Kierra placed another finished package off to the side as she looked at the remaining three items while sitting on the floor. She sighed, thinking it wouldn't be that much work when she first started. Just as she had reached for an item, a knock sounded at her door. Kierra wondered if it was Serena again.
"Come in."
Kierra expected it to be Serena, but it was another friend, Melanie, with a six inch round cake in hand within a container.
"Hi." Melanie greeted with a smile as Kierra returned the same gesture.
"Hi. Are you asking me to take a taste test again?"
"Oh, no. This is for Jake."
"Okay and what's it doing here?"
"Could you make a delivery for me?"
"Why? Why can't you do it?"
"I have to go in for work in a bit and I took too long to make this birthday cake for him and didn't realize about the time."
"Oh, shit."
Realization hit Kierra as she stared at Melanie who walked closer to Kierra's desk to place the cake on it.
"Jake's birthday was like a week ago. Fuck. I forgot."
Melanie restrained from laughing as she cast her friend with an amused look.
"And I thought he was a good friend of yours."
"He is, but don't tell him that." Kierra deadpanned before a chuckle followed after.
"Anyways," She dismissed the topic with a wave of her hand while pointing at Melanie.
"Forget that. You're the one that has a crush on him and actually made him a belated birthday cake. You give it to him."
"I want to make sure it gets to him by today so it tastes fresh and I can't with work. Besides, you're gonna go over there tonight, anyway."
"How would you know that?"
"Serena mentioned that you're delivering a package to Heeseung for her when I spoke with her like half an hour ago."
"I'm gonna tell Heeseung that Serena likes him."
"Don't do that."
"Why not?"
"Not your call."
"But she's just asking for it."
Melanie chuckled with a shake of her head.
"Even so, that's still not your call."
"Fine."
"Anyways, why not take both of these over at the same time? Oh, and it could give you an excuse for you to visit your boyfriend, too."
Kierra scoffed.
"I saw him earlier today and we hung out for a few hours, too. I don't need to see him again that fast or hang out with him, too."
Melanie laughed with a nod, but lightly tapped the top of the container that held the homemade cake.
"I see, but please? I'll even bake you your own Christmas cake and cookies next month so that you don't have to share with the others."
"Okay. I'm listening."
Melanie grinned widely.
"Cool. I'll make you your favorite on top of the Christmas stuff. So, how about it?"
"Fine." Kierra reluctantly agreed although the prospect of getting Melanie's baked goods didn't seem so bad.
"Anyways," Kierra pointed at her mini compact fridge, "You'll have to move some stuff around to fit it. I'll take it over once I'm done with these."
"Awesome! Thanks, Kierra."
"Yeah, yeah. Welcome."
Melanie chuckled as she made room in Kierra's fridge before leaving. Kierra glanced at the door before grabbing her phone. She immediately messaged her sister and wondered where she was so that she could have Linna run the errands instead of her doing it. Kierra's phone vibrated a momenter later and groaned upon reading that her sister was out on a date with Sunghoon. Kierra sighed deeply, lying down on her back as she thought on a plan.
"If I make it quick, then I wouldn't have to see him until tomorrow morning. I really need to just get in there and leave as soon as possible before he even knows that I was there."
"Hi, Namjoon." Kierra greeted the president of Beta Heta Mu.
Namjoon smiled at her and returned the greeting.
"Hey, Kierra. Did you want me to call J-"
"No."
Namjoon quirk a brow, amused.
"You're not here for him?"
"Nope. I'm just here to make a quick delivery to Heeseung and Jake. Are they here?"
"Yeah, they're in their rooms."
Namjoon pointed a thumb behind him before casting her with a now unsure look.
"Are you sure you don't want me to tell Jay that you're here?"
"No thanks and I'm sure. Besides, he needs to study for the exam tomorrow."
"Oh, I see. Do you want me to deliver the items instead?"
"I would, but the deliveries come with personal messages and so I need to do them physically."
Namjoon chuckled while opening the door further and inviting Kierra inside.
"Well, come in and I won't say anything."
"Thanks."
The two shared a secretive smile before Kierra made her way quickly up the steps to track down the two she needed to make deliveries to. She found Heeseung first as she knocked on the familiar door and he opened it.
"Oh, hey. What are you doing here? Ja-"
Kierra interrupted him.
"I'm not here for Jay, Heeseung, so please don't say anything."
"He'll be upset that you stopped by and didn't say 'hi' though." He remarked with a knowing look.
"Yeah, right. He won't know."
"I would. Besides, he talks about you. Like a lot."
"Next time, just tell him to text me instead of talking to y'all about us."
"We have."
"My apologies, but he really needs to study without distractions right now anyway."
She held a neatly wrapped package towards him.
"Anyways, we're not talking about Jay and I. This is from your secret admirer and you can open it whenever you feel like it."
"Ooh, what is it?"
"No clue, but she wanted me to tell you that she hopes you like it. If not, then let me know and I'll deliver the message."
Heeseung took the item with a smile on his face before shooting her a slight pleading look.
"Can't you just tell me who she is so I could personally let her know?"
"Nope. She won't let me."
"That's mean and I must know who she is, too."
"How would you know that?"
"Because it's been Nu Tau Zeta members giving me gifts from my secret admirer."
"Oh. Then we'll change it up with non-Nu Tau Zeta members. Anyways, Heeseung, but she'll let you know when she's ready."
"I hope it's soon because I feel weird receiving gifts when I don't know what she likes."
"Yeah, well, she's not expecting any gifts so you're good."
"It should be a two-way thing and not one-sided, Kierra. Maybe the other Nu Tau Zeta members could tell me."
"Yeah, good luck with that. Anyways, don't tell Jay I was here. I need to make another delivery and I'm out."
"Are you avoiding your boyfriend?"
Heeseung cast her with a cheeky expression as Kierra played it off.
"No. I'm just trying to see less of him for today since he has to study, Heeseung."
"Right, Kierra. Right."
Heeseung chuckled before holding up the present.
"Tell her 'thank you' and if I have any concerns, then I'll let you know about it."
"Cool and you're welcome."
The two friends bid one another goodbye just as Kierra reminded him to not say anything to Jay. She made her way to Jake's room and stopped right outside the door and was about to knock, but then remembered that he and Jay were roommates.
"Oh, fuck. I forgot about that, too. Why am I'm forgetting such things lately?"
Kierra wondered what she was supposed to do when she spotted another Beta Heta Mu member.
"Ooh, Taehyung!" She called out to the male as he turned to stare at her.
"Hmm?"
He looked at the door before looking at her, confused.
"Jay's inside. Do you want me to let him kno-"
"No, no. I'm just here to make a delivery for Jake and then I'm gone."
"Are you avoiding your boyfriend, Kierra?"
Taehyung teased as she scoffed at having been asked the same question not too long ago.
"No, Taehyung. I'm just trying to see him less for today. He has to study and gets distracted by me too easily."
"That's true. Anyways, so what do you want me to do?"
"Ask for Jake to come out."
"What's in it for me?"
Kierra scoffed again, but a subtle smile graced her face.
"Melanie is making me Christmas cookies and I'll give you the majority of them when she makes them for me."
"Okay, but add in your half of the cake, too."
"How would you know that?"
Taehyung rolled his eyes with a knowing look.
"Melanie also makes the best Christmas cakes, so I'm not dumb, Kierra. She gives us some every year, too."
"Oh, right. True. Fine, fine. Deal?"
"Deal."
"Thanks, Taehyung!"
"You're welcome, Kierra."
Kierra moved out of the way so that she wouldn't be seen as Taehyung knocked on the door and asked for Jake to come out. Jake came out and asked what Taehyung needed while Taehyung just pointed to the left of him, indicating the non-verbal signal towards her before walking away in Kierra's direction.
"Don't forget my goodies, Kierra." He whispered with a playful tone as she nodded while giving him the O.K. sign.
Jake cast his eyes onto Kierra, puzzled, after watching Taehyung walk away.
"Wha-"
Kierra held up a hand to stop him from speaking while whispering.
"Come out and close the door first."
Jake did as he was told although he was confused.
"Ja-"
"I know, but I'm not here for him. I came to give you this."
Kierra offered a reusable bag towards Jake that held the cake Melanie had made for him.
"It's from your secret admirer."
Jake took the item with furrowed brows.
"What is it?"
"It's a belated birthday cake."
She cast him a goofy grin.
"By the way, happy belated birthday, loser."
She regretted her words when she saw his eyes suddenly glistened over.
"Oh, shit. Wait. I didn't mean it in a bad way. I was just joking around. Oh, no. Don't cry. Jake, I'm sorry."
Jake waved a hand to let her know it wasn't her words that got him crying while he wiped the stray tears away.
"It's not that, Kierra. You didn't know, but my grandmother passed away on my birthday this year and it just brought up the feelings again. That's all." Jake explained as Kierra frowned, more to herself than to him.
"Jake. I'm sorry. Shit. I feel like a jerk now."
She opened her arms with a sympathic expresssion.
"Do you want a hug?"
"No, I'm good." He declined with a small laugh.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, actually, that'll be nice. Thanks."
"You're welcome."
Jake accepted her hug as Kierra comforted her friend while rubbing his back. At that exact moment, his and Jay's door opened, revealing her boyfriend. He stared at the scene before him while letting his gaze linger on to his girlfriend.
"What's going on, Kierra? Hmm?"
"Jay, I'm just hugging Jake."
"Yeah, I can see that, but why?"
"She didn't know about my grandma and gave me a belated birthday cake." Jake explained as he pulled himself away from Kierra.
He cast Jay with a small smile.
"That's it."
"Oh. I see."
Kierra could hear the jealous tone in Jay's voice.
"Don't be jealous, Jay. He has a secret admirer and I'm just doing this favor because she had to work tonight and the others are busy."
"I'm not jealous, Kierra."
"Right."
"I'm not."
"Hey," Jake interjected, "Who's my secret admirer, Kierra?"
"Not telling. Don't be like Heeseung."
"Who's his secret admirer?"
"Again, not telling."
"Why not?"
"Because."
She cast the pair with a look, knowing Jake was just being difficult as Jay still seemed slightly upset.
"Anyways, I'm gonna go and ju-"
"No, stay."
Jay spoke in a soft tone while he rushed towards his girlfriend and enveloped her into a sudden hug. Kierra allowed her boyfriend to sway the both of them while catching Jake's amused gaze.
"I'm just gonna leave y'all alone while I enjoy my cake with the others."
He pointed behind him while Kierra reached out a hand towards him.
"Wait, no. Jake. Don't leave me with him."
Jay scoffed while tightening his embrace around Kierra.
"Kierra, I'm your boyfriend."
"I know, Jay, but you're supposed to be studying."
"We can study together."
Kierra scoffed as Jake laughed while motioning at the pair.
"Um, you two can figure out your little situation, but tell my secret admirer 'thank you' for this, Kierra. Greatly appreciated and that I hope to find out who she is soon."
"Will do, Jake."
Kierra gave Jake a thumbs up as the male walked away, leaving the couple alone. Kierra wrapped her arms around Jay's waist to return the gesture while speaking.
"How long is this gonna last?"
"Dunno, but I quite like it."
Kierra could hear the amusement in her boyfriend's voice.
"I know you do."
"Anyways, do you have anything else to deliver?"
"Nope."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes."
Jay pulled away just far enough to gaze at his girlfriend with a mischievous expression.
"No packages of kisses for me?"
Kierra laughed as she shook her head.
"Nope."
"None with hugs and stuff?"
"Nope. None. Sorry, no deliveries tonight. They're delayed until you pass your exam."
Jay pouted.
"That's no fun."
"Don't care that it isn't fun, but you really need to go back to studying."
"But you said that if I could catch you that you would give me hugs and kisses whenever I wanted them."
'I know, but you really need to study and pass your exam for tomorrow."
"But Linna and Sunghoon are on a date right now though." He whined as she rolled her eyes.
"How would you know that?"
"I asked Sunghoon what he was doing since he and I were supposed to have a study session earlier, but he bailed on me."
"Wow. Anyways, Jay, we're not Sunghoon and Linna. Besides, we had a date earlier today."
"But I missed you."
"I missed you, too, bu-"
"C'mon. Just for a little bit." He reasoned with a slight pout.
Kierra sighed, but in a good-nature manner.
"You're so persistent."
Jay chuckled, knowing that Kierra gave in.
"Good. Now, let's go on a late night date. I'm done studying."
"Wow. You were gonna come over to bother me, anyway, huh?"
"Mmhmm. You just saved me time from going over there."
Jay cast her with a playful grin.
"So, about that kiss..."
"Is that all you think about it?"
"No. There's hugging, cuddling, and admiring. I could go on as I mainly think about you."
"I'm sure you can, but alright, Jay. Deliver on that date and you'll get your kisses."
"Can I have one now?"
"Sure."
The couple shared a sweet kiss before Jay led the pair hurriedly down the corridor, down the stairs, and out of the Beta Heta Mu's house for a late night date.
