BOO #anyway if they wanted to do a (roughly) time appropriate singer and that's not a terrible idea....and if they wanted to have a cool -#- real black creative woman inspo which is ALSO not a bad idea... why wouldn't you make her character more like Eartha Kitt?#some disctinctive way of speaking that's sort of recognizably old fashioned while being vivacious and the life of the party?#yeah thats what works for that character AND it'd be a fun inspiration for her as a singer #its so baffling that they just...straight up played the audio tracks of Sister Rosetta Tharpe singing while also not adding anything -#- to her character that was relevant and in fact just took away stuff about the character that made her an actual part of the mystery #they gave her narrative purpose to a white guy who wants to eat people irl ffs if that's not women being passed over for mediocre #white men idk what is #Youtube

cant believe i managed to put together a character inspiration graph. some are stronger than others, but it's fun to be able to put one together for once :') Anyway, inspiration board for aurora

Characters: -Snow Maiden (from the fairytale of the same name) -Odette (from the ballet Swan Lake) -The Unicorn/Amalthea (from The Last Unicorn) -Ninian (from Fire Emblem Blazing Blade) -The Princess (from Slay the Princess) -Sleeping Beauty/Rosamund du Prix (the fairytale of the same name/Dimension 20 Neverafter)

#aurora (oc)#snow maiden is the most obvious bc she literally is what auroras race is named after.#but to be specific. the ignorance. innocence. and inability to understand the world around her for her very nature and that the world #punishes her for that at times. as well as not being able to win over the first person she had feelings for i suppose lol #odette has always been a big inspo for me #bc of the curse shes under and the body transformations she undergoes unwillingly #amalthea is newer bc i didnt know about her to start but when i did learn of her i was like 'oh! points'#ninian is a soft spoken ice coded character (shes an ice dragon so lol) who is hunted by the big bad. she also gets amnesia #bc of the big bads actions similar to aurora #ninian was tied with deirdre from fe4 but ninian fit a bit better so she won out #still disappointed i couldnt find better offical art of ninian. she deserves prettier art than just moe blob shes been given #the princess is more nebulous. i cant pinpoint why exactly but i always think of aurora when i think of her. the thorn and the damsel #specifically a lot of time #meanwhile sleeping beauty on her own is someone cursed and loses So many years to the whims of another #for a slight she didn't even commit but instead her parent (s)#originally i just had sleeping beauty but i felt that rosumand is not only recognizable but also her #deconstruction of the fairytale fits into the fact aurora is a fairytale character who is Not happy about the consequences of it #anyway. gestures

I am already a big enjoyer of Friede and Amethio's rivalry and dynamics in general, so if Crave turns out to be Amethio's father, I feel like this knowledge would reframe their rivalry in very interesting ways and give additional readings and perspectives..

#something something about amethio rejecting his father and friede stepping in to be the positive male figure in his life at that point #Not saying friede takes on that role (dad) because i don't interpret him that way at all #however he is very much meant to be someone amethio takes inspiration from #most adults in amethio's life aren't inspirational i think so friede is probably the first person he met who is free and independent etc #i need to be moderately invested in that theory so i'm not disappointed if it doesn't turn out to be true lol #but i think it adds a lot to the narrative.. amethio and liko's parallels etc and even friede's character!#the thought that he is giving back to the younger generation after being nurtured by teachers and mentors #oh friede the man that you are. the coolest guy ever that you are.. luv you #horizons tends to be very intentional about its writing.. the mentor character (friede) has been helped by Very Specific People #and feels indebted to them. before his rvt era. those people are liko's mother (lucca) and roy's grandfather. and director crave.#hmm. i wonder what that means!#(not saying friede isn't helped by the rvt. but they act as equals. lucca was a hiearchical superior as a teacher etc.)#also. on a personal level. i think it's funny if friede knew amethio's dad before meeting him #crave going like 'i'm glad my son has taken a liking to you professor friede :) i hope you can continue to get along'#and ame being like 'we don't get along? smh'#we'll see where that leads. but hz doesn't really trick its audience. it expects us to pick up on all these themes and hints here and there #like how this ep points out that yeah gibeon still being alive at this point seems odd and for him to be ame's grandpa too.#it's intentional! so i'm just pointing out reocurring patterns.. but yeah. we'll see #friede #hz074 #character notes #episode notes

after adventure is thrust upon him, he travels to find His Radiancy and they go on some otherworldly adventures while growing closer and figuring out the nature of their friendship

#At The Feet Of The Sun #lays of the heart-fire #aroaessidhe 2024 reads #giggling and kicking my feet. and also crying #bro the yearning….the yearning #I can definitely see why this loses people - it’s so long and very self indulgent #(listen. i enjoy it a lot . but does it need to be THAT long (i just checked. 375k? lord))#but it is easy to read and also very funny. it felt less repetitive than the first book to me #I did find it hard to keep track of some of the side characters though #The first world-travelling stuff caught me off guard initially - I feel like all the weird magic was more background in book 1?#or maybe I just didn't pay attention.#taking a step back it is a bit like - kip sure does achieve everything and then some and just continues to achieve everything huh #and it gets to a point where it's like.....okay yes I get he's so talented at this etc etc.#but I guess it’s a nice change of pace from the kingly swordfighting fantasy protagonist who’s perfect and wins everything -#someone whose skill is people and negotiation in a humble way is a bit more interesting. still. it maybe felt less grounded after a while?#the deep exploration of platonic yearning and desire for strong friendship and fear over that person just wanting romance/sex #when that’s Not what you want out of the relationship………#not to mention his complex feelings over meeting two people who were like his platonic soulmate rolemodels #and then finding out they just used that term because gay relationships weren’t accepted and trying to not be disappointed #(because gay is also good!) but also like. so lonely in feeling like nobody understands his desire for a platonic soulmate #to be treated equally as romantic relationships are. oof #I am a little baffled to see people interpret it as a romantic asexual relationship?#I feel like that does such a disservice to the . everything that has been set up in what 600k words of books #like the implication of that is that you think other romantic rships w/o sex are unheard of in this world. I find that hard to believe idk #(I mean - a bit romantic on fitzroy’s end; and in the nebulous queerplatonic area between friendship and romance; sure #but like a straight up romantic relationship just without sex - I don’t understand how it could be interpreted that way lol?)#(anyway other people’s interpretations don’t matter)#I do have questions about the telepathic dinosaur soulmates. you can’t just mention that and now show me them #also. kip being like 'wait there were sirens? i wonder if i can hire them' kshfkjsgkf #asexual books

If they announce a s4 I genuinely might have to log tf off. I don't even want to see what sort of dumpster fire it would be. Maybe I'm just being pessimistic, but I don't see much hope for it being good or worthwhile. I know there are as many religious good guys as there are religious bad guys in IDW, but I think I pinned down the reason why it feels like the most prominent religious figures are all bad guys and it's pretty much due to the worldbuilding.

Maybe my memory of the comics is just really bad, but the religious worldbuilding in IDW is....kind of trash honestly. I'm not sure there's a single religion or religious custom that doesn't exist solely to further the plot along. Like, it's one thing for the Camiens to worship the Primes and that causes a lot of stuff in exRID/OP, but what does that worship actually look like? What are their holidays, customs, religious texts? What about "spectralism" which basically the only thing we know about is the Festival of the Lost Light and some hippie color coding and aura shit? Like sure, there are characters who are religious and their beliefs come into play sometimes, but it honestly feels (especially in MTMTE) more like their religiousness only exists when it's relevant to the plot and it's just kinda. Disappointing eh. Lacking in worldbuilding. Plus the more religious a character is the more it's written as their entire personality and the driving force making them evil so it just kinda made me cringe to read honestly.

#squiggposting #i think there might be more 'religious moments' than i remember since it's been a hot minute since i read #but i remember during my first read/while liveblogging it was something that disappointed me #i know it's probably unfair or whatever but it still makes me cringe so hard #that the reason tyrest suddenly became a religious zealot was because he got shot with a brain altering bullet #and his religious fervor is almost literally just a product of him being brain damaged and delusional #like oooooooooooooooooooooooof it's so fucking cringe lol #i'm not sure if i'm making sense honestly. it's not so much the NUMBER of evil vs non evil religious characters #but it's more like. the more prominently religion is part of a character's personality or motivation #the odds of them just being an evil guy shoots up to almost 100%#also then there's dr/ft who's a fucking clown and 'spectralism' is just some half baked hippie shit i can't take seriously #guess my problem isn't with IDW so much as it is with JRO lol #anyways not an objective analysis i might be wrong on some counts that was just my feelings as i read #and also i just don't like it when the worldbuilding around culture only exists when it comes to plot related stuff #it really makes the world feel less lived in/realistic when it's established that there are multiple religions #but then as far as actual customs- beliefs- texts- philosophies- etc there's hardly anything #so the good guys may be religious but there's not much about what their beliefs actually entail and how they impact their daily life #and on the other hand the bad guys are screaming about how they're god's chosen all over the place

Okay okay I will stop talking about it I promise, but it is hard to explain how much strain, weight, fear and stress I've been under over one particular problem for a few months, and how strange the means of my liberation from it were. I've spent the whole week, or even more, crying, and I've fallen into extreme self-doubts and guilt. This time it was too much to bear and I wondered if I was in the wrong after all.

But like.. just very specific words and attitude removed ALL of that weight in a flash. Not only I felt much easier and free, but also I saw with my very eyes that I WAS right, I WAS in the right place and DID the right thing. I can't describe this. I knew that I would feel better and move on if I open my heart, but I didn't know in which way. Like.. imagine grabbing a saint (affectionate) from the local church (derogatory) trying to speak and getting "Oh wait no you haven't sinned, we just don't want heretics walking near our pure place 👍". It is like, disappointment and loss of all self-doubts that escalated for months, but also relief from fear and perceived hatred that kept sipping my HPs like a permanent status effect. And confidence in my purpose. I feel like I just can't share about it in a way that makes sense, but I experience genuine relief from pain and self-doubts so rarely that I can't keep it inside. It was a quick hurt to heal the permanenthurt, you know, kinda like how fixing a broken shoulder requires wild pain but it's quick? This was the biggest HUMANITY RESTORED moment I've had in a long while.

oh GOD i just saw someone i'm subscribed to on youtube just released a video about the cats fandom....... i'm deathly curious and also shriveling up into a prune irl

Mystie divorced Mr. Hippo forever ago and she's well over it because she has so many kids (the adult Animatronics like Cupcake, Foxy, Monty, etc) and grandkids (the kid-like Animatronics like Minirena, Bonbon, etc) to take care of. Mr. Hippo is still sad about it and keeps trying but it ain't working.

Katlynn and Wendy are my favourite girls, yes they're OCs, but they're in my AU so they go here. <3

Shadow and RXQ are my two favourite dead spectral idiots who are kind of like sandpaper against everyone else but each other. They're the perfect flavour of weird for each other yet grate the nerves and invade the privacy of everyone else around them on purpose just to get a rise out of them.

Foxy and Goldie are like hell together - they're in love, then Foxy's over here flirting with every man at the bar and Goldie's in the arms of DJ Music Man and flirting with Sara for some reason. They are both entirely unfaithful to each other yet still keep the other in the loop of their actions and it's a disaster. They've been besties for so long and the mutual pining for sixty years is REAL.

Baby and Ballora met each other once and decided to be essentially married. They have been together since their location had it's opening night, and have three kids (Minirena, Electrobab, and Bidybab). They're essentially like Freddy and Bonnie, but well before Freddy and Bonnie even existed. They're the ultimate power couple.

Doug and Rachel both owned a business and are actually married. Rachel jokes that her coworkers (Ray, Bane, Pete) are kind of like her kids because she's always telling them off for antics, and Doug is just madly in love with his rabbit wife.

Vincent died once. Springtrap got a new lease on life. They're both exes of the disaster couple that is Foxy and Goldie. Springtrap tries to be smooth and Vincent ignores him, but the second Vincent is mildly romantic Springtrap overheats and faints and requires repairs. They are the true disaster duo.

Chica and Roxy are absolutely out to be gay do crime insult Moon and get away with it. Chica is the buff chef and Roxy is the shockingly good driver and enjoys cleaning. They probably have unofficially adopted Cassie too, don't get them wrong.

Balloon Boy is that one weird kid who hangs around his nerd Marionette and somehow they're perfect for each other. Marionette is the most normal of the Toy Series aside from Mangle, and Balloon Boy eats batteries. Need I say more?

Freddy adopted Gregory as his son. Bonnie adopted Bonbon and Bonnet when he learned that the rabbit kids' dad (Funtime Freddy) and his boyfriend (Funtime Foxy) were scrapped. You ever play Dream Daddy? A similar thing is going on here with these two dads.

There are some former relationships that I didn't include (Delilah and William, Mangle and Toy Chica, Lefty and Rockstar Foxy) because one side of the relationship is very destroyed. There's a lot of relationships where both sides are destroyed too. Also Delilah/Virtua totally divorced William's bitch ass before he murdered her and turned her into a robot in my AU.

there's something darkly funny about arthur sr slinking out of the house all self-pitying after tommy tells him to get out and then more or less teases arthur that he lets tommy walk all over him and needling his resentment towards his brother. so much about that ruthless manipulation and punishing viciousness he exhibits towards arthur is just ... looking into the mirror and not being really happy about it.

#what an absurd father character #an awful person but so *weak*#also what are the odds that their mother chased him out of the house every so often with a fire poker lol #it actually asks an important question about tommy's relative power and control in the family #how much does he have? what emotional and physical leverage does he have over his *father* (over arthur)? why is he 'obeying' him like that #and tommy knows he can't keep him out of the house and subsequently avoids going there as long as he's in town #and indeed their father returns when it suits him #''quite something you've become'' = ''last time i saw you you were still the family freak what the fuck happened here?''#and tommy's disappointment is still there. he's wary and uncomfortable with him but that sentiment was pretty honest regardless #and it gets to his father because he very much looks guilty (or at least embarrassed) for a moment

#dee p thoughts #genuinely dislike vague posts and/but I dont want to put a person on blast but like #''alice became irrelevant'' quite frankly the plot revolved and wouldnt exist in the first place without alice nadfbjkldan #I can get behind the idea that the plot is less EXPLICITLY about her lategame and mochijun frankly wasnt perfect about writing girl #characters (sincerely Id say the PERFECT done ones are only lacie and echo; the rest struggling with either disappearing quickly a la #vanessa and marie relegating to supporting/supplemental to male characters roles a la sharon ada shelly and/or funky in execution a la #lottie lily and alice) but literally. the plot goes from ''who murdered her?'' to ''why did she die that way?'' and that means EVERYTHING #EVERYTHINGGGGGGGGG!!! OZ IS RIGHT HERE!!!!!!!!! frankly should more have happened with her lategame YES!!! but she frankly CANNOT BE #IRRELEVANT EVERRR- lots to think about in terms of the girls' character writing in PH lottie really gets me a ton in terms of what was trie #that I could see and what didnt happen and the mild disappointment and the potential LOTTIE IS SO COOLLLLL but her intro. ack and more-#GENUINELY GOOD I COULD SEE THE ATTEMPT AND WHERE IT WAS TRYING TO GO A TO B MAKES SENSE AND IS ULTIMATELY HEARTFELT BUT THE EXECUTION WAS S #OOOOOO not the best lol. like her a ton cute design could/wished it could be better- lily is perfectly serviceable but relegated to being #cute and reactive after her moment which works but more would be better/coolerrrrr #hated levi. this point is irrelevant but I just remembered him and I loathe his ass. choke.
