Private Training in Lees Summit - Active Strength Company
What is Private Training Provider?
A Private Training Provider (PTP) is an organization or institution that offers education, training, and skill development programs outside of traditional public educational institutions like schools and universities. These providers are often privately owned or operated by non-governmental entities. They offer a variety of vocational, technical, professional, and skill-based courses to help individuals acquire specific knowledge and expertise for various industries and professions.
Tumblr media
Private Training Providers can offer a wide range of programs, including:
Vocational Training: Programs that focus on specific job skills and practical knowledge required for a particular occupation or trade, such as plumbing, electrician work, automotive repair, etc.
Professional Development: Courses designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of professionals in various fields, including business management, marketing, finance, and more.
Technical Training: Training programs that cover specialized technical skills, often related to technology and IT, such as software development, network administration, and cybersecurity.
Certification Programs: Courses that prepare individuals for specific certifications in fields like healthcare (nursing assistant, medical coding), IT (Cisco, Microsoft certifications), and more.
Short Courses and Workshops: These are often short-term training sessions designed to quickly impart specific skills, such as language learning, photography, cooking, etc.
Private Training Providers may operate independently or in collaboration with industries, organizations, or professional bodies. They can offer flexible schedules, hands-on training, and practical experience that cater to the needs of learners looking to gain targeted skills for immediate employment or career advancement. It's important for individuals considering enrolling in programs offered by Private Training Providers to research the credibility, accreditation, and reputation of the provider to ensure they are receiving quality education and training.
What Are the Benefits of Private Personal Training?
Private personal training offers several benefits for individuals who are looking to achieve their fitness goals and improve their overall health. Here are some of the advantages:
Personalized Attention: With private personal training, you work one-on-one with a qualified trainer. This allows the trainer to create a customized workout plan tailored specifically to your goals, fitness level, and any limitations you may have. The trainer can provide personalized guidance and adjustments to ensure you're getting the most out of each session.
Focused and Efficient Workouts: Private training sessions are focused solely on you and your goals. This means that every minute of the session is optimized for your benefit, allowing you to achieve results more efficiently compared to group classes where the workout might be less targeted.
Individualized Feedback: The trainer can provide immediate feedback on your form, technique, and performance during exercises. This helps prevent injuries, ensures you're using proper techniques, and maximizes the effectiveness of your workouts.
Flexibility in Scheduling: Private training often offers more flexibility in scheduling compared to group classes. You can work with your trainer to find times that fit your schedule, making it easier to maintain a consistent exercise routine.
Motivation and Accountability: Having a personal trainer provides a level of accountability that can be harder to achieve on your own. Knowing that you have a scheduled session can help you stay committed to your fitness goals and show up consistently.
Adaptation to Changing Needs: As your fitness level improves or your goals change, your personal trainer can adjust your workout plan accordingly. This adaptability ensures that you continue to make progress and avoid plateaus.
Tailored Nutrition Advice: Many personal trainers also provide nutritional guidance as part of their services. This holistic approach can help you make healthier dietary choices that complement your fitness efforts.
Confidence Building: Working with a trainer who is invested in your success can boost your confidence. As you see progress and achieve milestones, you'll gain a stronger sense of accomplishment and self-assurance.
Privacy and Comfort: Some individuals prefer a private setting where they can focus on their workout without the distractions or self-consciousness that can come with a crowded gym.
Specific Goals: Whether you're training for a specific event (e.g., a marathon, a sports competition) or aiming for targeted results (e.g., weight loss, muscle gain), a personal trainer can design a program to help you reach those objectives.
It's worth noting that private personal training can be more costly than group fitness classes, but the individual attention and tailored programming can make it a worthwhile investment in your health and fitness journey. When choosing a personal trainer, make sure to research their qualifications, experience, and reputation to ensure you're working with a skilled and knowledgeable professional.

Team Hard Workers United
...I swear, man. These three should have become an alternate team, as soon as Sasuke left the village. Look at the three! Look at them! Casually rocking his green fit!
And if you pick these three in Ultimate Ninja Heroes as a team, you get a hit. And they are called "Hard Workers United". I am not kidding, look it up.
And Rock Lee, the GOAT that he always has been, is the type of best friend you never know you need, until it matters most. And it's not me making it up, after the Five Kage Summit, it was all Rock Lee's idea to pay Naruto a visit, along with the others, as he knew, he still felt so depressed about the entire situation with Sasuke. Maybe it was filler, but it just cemented Lee even harder as THE GOAT, of the entire series.
Need more proof why these three just blend so well together? Here you go.
Tumblr media
Plus, I dunno about you guys, but Rock Lee HAS to be THAT person, outside of Naruto, that someone like Hinata truly needs in her life. He always manages to turn misery into positive motivation and strength. Hinata needs that sort of light in her life, especially if she needs to approach someone to perfect her Taijutsu. And toughen up, in general.
*cough* Ahem, definitely not me hinting at a Pre-Shippuden based story, where Hinata is given one whole month to prepare for a rematch with her cousin, Neji, and Naruto and Rock Lee promising to train her, Rocky style. *cough*
But another thing... me being a Sonic fan, these three, just by looking at their personalities and how well they work together, in MANY aspects, to me, are not beating the Team Sonic parallel allegations. Lemme show you.
Team Sonic:
Tumblr media
Naruto - Sonic (Speed)
Tumblr media
Hinata - Tails (Flying)
Tumblr media
Rock Lee - Knuckles (Power)
Tumblr media
...Nuff' said.

Sai should have been Shino
Tumblr media
I like Sai especially as outside of Shikamaru and Sasuke he's more of Naruto's best friend
But after his arc in Tenchi Bridge, he more or less is just there to fill that fourth member for Team Kakashi
As he's barely supporting more so to have someone for Naruto Sakura or Yamato to talk off of when the other two are doing something
And like a lot, his big moment is in the war where he more or less is used to just wrap his story up and he's one of the few to get that as Choji and Tenten are kinda the few, as they couldn't touch every person like Lee, Kiba, Shino and etc
So I think in a lot of ways Sai became unnecessary his debut arc as the friend role can be played by any of the Konoha 11
Tumblr media
Neji can give the wiser advice, Lee can be supporting, he can butt heads with Kiba, etc
Why Shino?
Tumblr media
I think Sai has four main traits as a character that you would have to replace
Anbu/Root connection
Brother plot
Ink/Sealing
Non-normal communication skills
And I think of the existing Konoha 11 characters I think Shino can fill those traits the best
Anbu/Root connection
Tumblr media
Based on Torune and the other lore-like characters like Yoji Aburame, the Aburame clan are the most anbu-ready skill set-wise
And of the Konoha 12, he seemed the most likely for Anbu with the only other contention would have been Sasuke if he stayed
Brother plot
Tumblr media
So Shino doesn't have a brother but it's been stated that he viewed Torune as a brother who is his cousin kinda similar to Neji and Hinata (they're just half siblings due to fathers being twins) so you essentially can make Torune Shino’s Shin and still kill him off during the time skip and make that be what has Shino wants bonds and such
Plus it helps the Anbu/Root connection as well
And due to using Torune this where you can either just use any other Anbu member for Torune in the summit arc or even put Sai here in a weird twist of fate
Ink & Sealing
Tumblr media
So it'll take some more expansion of his insect usage to be similar to Sai’s Ink but I can see his insects doing a lot of what Sai’s ink creations can do from forming into different shapes, to scouting, lifting people up etc
Tumblr media
The only thing would be if the insects can do the equivalent of “punching” that Sai’s ink jutsu can do but we've seen things like Gaara’s sand and Shikamaru’s Shadows being used like that so Shino using a ton of bugs in that way is plausible I feel
Sealing is that area where it matters in the war arc but before that it isn't as necessary so if you need to you can make some weird insect-sealing jutsu to justify it or add a character in those moments to seal it such as you can give a character like Tenten the sealing capabilities if necessary
And with the Anbu connection that can just be hand waved saying all the Anbu have minimum sealing ability
Non-normal communication
Tumblr media
Shino was already the character that got ignored and people don't talk to normally so they have that in common
But would Shino do the same insults or lack of understanding of what others are feeling? Probably not so those would need some general writing fixes
But in other ways his anbu/root training can change his outlook on things since its a timeskil meaning we can be more flexible with his personality
So concept wise Shino can replace Sai as he covers the main traits Sai has and other things would be dialogue changes and backstory tweaks
Practicality wise…
The big change is the Tenchii bridge arc
A lot of the tension was that Naruto and Sakura didn't know or trust Sai so if it's Shino that wouldn't be the same even if Shino changed from the Anbu/Root they would be approaching more the aspect that he changed
As I can see Shino being willing to kill Sasuke and butting heads with them over that even without the change so putting him here can work in the character aspect
Obviously, more dialogue changes as Sasuke would know Shino and vice versus, Yamato would be more of the odd man out, etc
Other arcs
Shino might not be the one to be checking on Naruto in the hidan and kakuzu arc as he might be busy I don't see him as the replacement for Sasuke as Team 8 still exists but he also can be here just because but again this can be anyone from Kiba to Hinato to Tenten even
In the pursuit arc would just need to fill the missing slot since no Sai as Shino is already here and mostly anyone can fill this part even someone like a Konohamaru
Summit, basically someone to have Narutos back and again Shino’s skillset does the same thing as Sai for the most part
If anything he might be more resistant to Sakura’s poison and shakes that story up more
War arc, not much put his anime filler moment against Torune in place of Sai vs Shin alongside Kankuro against Sasori and Deidara, which can be nice as Shino and Kankuro have that history from part 1
And have the few moments like aiding team 7 towards the end and etc can stay
Boruto
Tumblr media
So the main thing is the Sai-Ino thing and canon Shino being the Academy teacher
In a world where Sai doesn't die, I can still see him with Ino as their main relationship development was through novels so Shino isn't forced to be with Ino meaning Inojin can stay the same as it would just be more like Choji with Karui where it was fully in the novels and not focused on
Now would Shino be Anbu’s head like canon Sai or teacher like canon Shino
Honestly, it can be either or
Shino as a teacher ties into his want for bonds and helping others and etc and the Anbu backstory can make that even more heartwarming that this trained assassin wants to just teach kids and in that case, a alive Sai or just a different character can be Anbu's head like imagine if while Konohmaru is head Jonin his friend Udon is anbu head or something
And vice versa if Shino is head anbu he can still lead a team in the anime and the Academy teacher can be someone like Tenten instead of her just owning an empty weapon shop
So my reasoning in why Sai should of been Shino
Its basically just me saying we didn't need another new character when we have so many existing side characters that could be used
Written Nov 11, 2023 (clearing drafts lol)
Update 7/26/24
Did some spelling and format fixes
No real change in my opinion
But I will say Kishimoto didn't use his characters it just feels in comparison to some other animes like My Hero or even One Piece from what I've seen he doesn't give them their moments to the highest quality
Like the pursuit arc, when they were being stalled by Tobi, if there was something a little more spectacular to look at there it wouldn't feel that Team 8 focus was bad in comparison to Team 10 and Team Gai. It really does feel like they're the fourth team even with Hinata’s relevance

Is it better to start off with a plot chart or to just write what you have in your head down first and then go back to edit?
So, this is a subjective thing. There is no better, but I'll try to share what I've learned:
First off, why do you write?
I, personally, write for me in the future when I've forgotten what I've written exactly and can enjoy it 1-3 years down the line. I write to achieve a vision I've had. I am not a writer who writes to discover the journey. What is fun to me about writing, is writing and achieving something I want to read later (and can share with others).
Some people need to have the discovery and mystery of writing. For some people, they write see what happens and have fun along the way. Finding out what happens by planning demotivates them because they already know what happens.
This is not me. If I don't know what happens, I tend to lose steam and focus. It stops feeling the way I want it to.
Now, this is more of a spectrum. It's not this or that. Some people also kind of write to get something out of their head. It's neither planning oriented or discovery oriented. It's a thought experiment.
Figuring out why you write will help you determine what is most fun for you. The fun part is the important part. And if you don't write for fun (not every soul does), at least figure out what compels you to write. What makes you need/want to? What is fun and/or compelling about writing?
Second, what gets you in the "inspired to write" mood?
Fonda Lee said it well in an article called Fonda Lee: Jade City, An Anti-Nanowrimo Case Study. In it, she says: "We all pay the piper in some way; you choose how. I wrote Jade City like a blind mountain climber scaling Everest: slowly and methodically searching for each handhold, stopping to rest, unable to see the summit but always going up."
I actually do not mind editing while I write (or before each section), especially fanfic and things I have a strong vision for. Where I know what happens next at almost all times (I prefer to plan) because it actually gets me in the mood. Think of it like preparing a canvas or pre-heating an oven.
But that stresses some people out or they get stuck. They never get to move on because they are focusing on why something doesn't feel or sound right. For some, editing is a trap. For others, it's pre-heating the oven.
You have to know yourself by trial and error. I've done this enough times where I know that I will move on. I'll eventually land on something I like and it'll actually make me feel better about the next thing I write.
Some people feel worse after they go through this and they never land on something they specifically want.
Prepare yourself to get into writing before you actually do.
But back to your actual question: Should you plan the plot our or should you just pants it (write what's in your head without a plan)?
The answer honestly should come from what makes you excited to write. You should, at least, have an idea of where it's going either way.
The pros of writing it down can give you clarification. The con, however, means taking out the surprise.
The pros of pantsing is that you get surprises along the way and it might be more organic as the character develop in writing. Cons is that you could lose steam (if you're me) or you might have the story meander and bloat without direction.
So, TLDR;
There is no best way. his is a pretty subjective question and really depends on what allows you to start and keep writing.
What keeps you writing?
What gets in the way of you writing?
What is fun and/or compelling?
One caveat: A little bit of planning goes the wrong way either way. Just knowing where you're headed to some degree helps keep the train rolling for most people and most people have a little bit of a plan before they write. You don't need a whole chart if you don't want. If total surprise if what keeps you going though that's also fine.

These persons comparing real abuse to a fictional characters! This type of post is a insult to Sasuke and Sakura fans. This make me sick and how these people failed to undertand the manga.
Where's is that moral police to judge others characters like :
Neji beating Hinata to death and being forgiven?
Itachi killing his clan, father and Mother and torturing Sasuke until insanity?
Gaara killing thousends of persons, unleashing Shukaku to destroy the village ans trying to Kill Sasuke and Sakura?
Obito killing 80.000 Persons and Kushina, Minato and a baby and naruto defeding him?
Why the flipping F do people hate Sakura so much they gotta project their hatred on Sasuke calling him names like abuser? People need to separate their personal self insert and incel vibes from their analysis of Sakura's and Sasuke's character and yet that’s completely impossible for 90% of naruto fans and fanboys and the loong time dead NarSak Fandom.
Damn, it's almost as if sasuke did alot worse to the Naruto and yet Naruto considering him his closest friend and most important person is still accepted and the manga theme isn't about forgiviness and redemption or we didn't have the same MC calling a mass murderer who killed 80.000 in the War, the Collest guy and still defending his honor. Sakura always cared for Sasuke because saves him was one of her goals in life. The public learn this at the beginning of the manga. Naruto's case is the most ridiculous one. Sakura never forgive every criminal she ran across including her parents murderer because she have a messiah complex.
Sasuke was basically led by his feelings for the whole serie and somehow people assume he'd marry someone he doesn't love - going as far as to assume he married someone he can't stand. If we are to count when they are actually together then to my knowledge Sasuke has never treated Sakura bad in Part 1, the War and as adults. The haters of this paring always bring up events that happened when Sasuke and Sakura were enemies. They aren't in any relationship to be considered "abusive". Most of the Abusers wants to force Girls to stay by them using force. Sasuke did the exactly oposite. He wants to force Sakura and Naruto to forget him and cut all his ties.
Abuse and Toxic implies Sasuke was taking advantage of a relationship between the two, but no such thing existed . This never existed in Part 1 and during their marriage. At the Kage Summit Sasuke was trying to kill everyone who he used to care about because of the curse of hatred and his traumas. SS haters make it sound like he was coming home to his girlfriend and beating her because he was drunk!! That never happened.
Sakura isn't some fragile toddler. She was trained by the Hokage, planed to kill Sasuke using a poisoned Kunai and almost managed to get that. She knew what she was doing, she knew that she put herself in dangerous situation. She even tricked and knocked out Kiba, Lee and Sai so she can accomplish her task of killing Sasuke alone. Sasuke considered the entire Konoha as his mortal enemy and Sakura was the one who chase Sasuke to kill him. Sasuke apologized to Sakura after he was truly redeemed and Kishimoto wanted to save that moment for the last chapter to milk the drama because it was much more important to Sasuke's plot.
When Sasuke try to kill Sakura as his official girlfriend or wife this non sense argument will make some sense
Sasuke was emotionally manipulated and traumatised to the point he lose himself and have a psychotic breakdown. Sasuke always have a soft side for Sakura but was blinded by revenge and hatred. As soon he comes back to his sense was obvious he was gonna to accept Sakura. The second he turns good, what does he do? Apologizes to her, his isn't a romance or Shoujo manga.
You never will see lovey romantic couples in this manga and Sasuke was an antagonist who wanted to destroy Konoha during shippuden. Dont expect lovey dovey romance, they were not in a relationship yet. In the Naruto world, children are sent to war, and are meant to kill one another in a mere exam or in random mission. Making a big deal of Sakura getting with sasuke after they attempted to kill each other when they WERE ENEMIES is stupid. Especially stupid since it's not even that same sasuke she fell in love during part 1 or married. He changed and undergone to reform himself before starts a relationship with her even refusing Sakura's company during that time.
By the end of part 1, Sasuke considered her and Naruto a second family and was willing to risk his life to save Sakura from Gaara. It was her that stopped Sasuke's rampage in the Chuuning Exams when he was being taken over by the cursed seal. Sakura was the one who perceived Sasuke was leaving the village and the only person Sasuke even talked about his objectives and his revange too. Narratively, she's irreplaceable and the only female option to Sasuke. As soon he comes back and get redeemed was obvious he was gonna to accept Sakura. This was just a natural progression of his character.
Anyway Sakura at 2023 is officially the most female popular alive character in Naruto and the most popular female in Japan. Sakura didn't need NaruSaku or Naruto self inserts fans. She is fine with her current SS fans who didn't judge the character just because she refused Naruto and married they guy who she always loved. Get Out Sakura never needed these type of idiot fans.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m a girl, I’ve been a Naruto’s fan for seven years. I’ve been reading Naruto since I was 12, at this age, I had my first abusive relationship. He treated me like shit, he told me over and over that I was annoying and even mocked my looks, he lied about me to all of his friends to make me look like his ‘obsessed fangirl’ and in the end I found out he never liked me. This man was abusing me just for fun. He made me cry and feel worthless so many times, he even crated a ‘hateclub’. Yes, this man created a HATECLUB for the GIRL who were abused by him.  I used to look up to Sakura all this years. She was just like me. Underappreciated by an arrogant boy who she really liked. All Sakura ever wanted was to be noticed and loved by Sasuke, however, he treated her like shit. Like worthless thrash. He didn’t give a shit about Sakura and wasn’t interested in her during 698 chapters.  I grew up with Sakura, in Shippuden’s she had become a strong and confident woman (at least until the last two chapters) and she was starting to realize how Sasuke made her suffer. Her confessions to Naruto was fake, but the words weren’t. I wouldn’t care if she ends up alone or with someone, even though I ship NaruSaku and SakuHina, all I was expecting from Kishimoto was a well-writen character development, and he threw that away. Look at how Sasuke treats Sakura during the entire manga:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then, in chapter 699 he just had to apologize so she could say ‘sorry for what’? Really, Kishimoto? Not satisfied with ignoring all the abuse, he made Sakura become a housewife. He showed us how Naruto and Sasuke were doing their thing, but what about her development as a medical ninja? Wasn’t she supposed to surpass Tsunade? Kishimoto could have showed us the ‘medical-nin Sakura’ at the hospital with her daughter, but no, he rather make her a housewife.  Sasuke had made Sakura cry and had ben insulting her during the plot so many times. He tried to kill her THREE TIMES. He has  strangled and called her useless in the pictures above. That’s how you want girls to be ‘appreciated’, Kishimoto?  I used to always look up to Sakura, I wanted to become a strong young woman like her, I wanted to bloom and become a beautiful flower like Sakura. You ruined my favorite character who helped me getting through abuse, Kishimoto. All Sasuke had to do was apologize so she would forget about all the abusive things he done to her. That’s how you want woman to be portrayed in your precious story, Kishimoto. You want us to be portrayed as dreamless housewives, it doesn’t matter if men makes us feel like nothing, it doesn’t matter if this man had struggled, tried to kill her and even created a genjutsu where he stabbs her in the chest. As long as he says ‘sorry’ any girl in the world can forgive him and forget about all responsibilities and accomplishments just to ask him if she could join him in his travel and further in the manga she gave birth to his daughter. Sasuke crushes Sakura’s feelings and dignity in all possible ways and even so, you make her MARRY HIM and not satisfied, MAKE HER BE THE MOTHER OF HIS DAUGHTER and only show us the ‘HOUSEWIFE SAKURA’. Because that’s what we, women, are to you. Walking-bodies with no feelings, who doesn’t deserve to be respected and loved. If the abuser says ‘sorry’ it’s completely okay.  You destroyed my favorite character. You’re making me feel ashamed of everything I’ve been through. You dismayed me. Thank you, Kishimoto, for thinking about all the girls that reads your manga. That’s what you’re teaching them.  SasuSaku fans, don’t even reply me, you’re just gonna make fun of my suffering and try to convince me that this shitty pairing isn’t abusive. I hope you’re happy that this crap became canon.

Bonus
According to Kishimoto, Kakashi is the ideal master for him compared to Jiraiya and Iruka.
Tumblr media
Interestingly, I find many Naruto fans from Tumblr and Reddit disagree with him. Naruto fanboys on Reddit who is full of power scaling lover dudebros thought that Jiraiya is the ideal master because both Naruto and him are not “geniuses” and Jiraiya taught 2 jutsu to him, Summoning Jutsu and Rasengan, compared to Kakashi who just taught about developing Rasen Shuriken (offensive attack speaking). As for Naruto fans on Tumblr prefer Iruka because they generally saw Kakashi as apathetic and emotionless man, so they like Iruka who is more soft and considerate.
Not gonna say that they were wrong because ideal standard is different from person to person, but in Kishimoto’s case, he explicitly said that Kakashi is the ideal master to him because Kakashi is “A protecting Master who instead yelling at you, explain what went wrong and how to fix it. Someone who pushed his student forward instead of yelling him back to square 0”.
Meaning Kishimoto prefers this :
Tumblr media
(On that panel above, Kakashi has yet become Team 7′s teacher)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Instead of these :
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the same interview, Kishimoto also said that he had a very stern and rude master image in his head, but he wants Kakashi to be a more laid back teacher, gave him kindness and woman-like speech pattern.
Tumblr media
The “woman-like” speech pattern here I think is about how soft-spoken Kakashi is toward children. Compared to other males in Narutoverse, Kakashi has a very calm way to speak with kids and never shy about emotional conversation, like he told Haku about Zabuza’s feeling when they got Edo-Tensei-ed although Zabuza is still in the deep of “A shinobi must never show emotion” motto XD. In fact, I found this similarity between Kakashi and Inari’s conversation :
Tumblr media
And Mikoto-Sasuke’s conversation :
Tumblr media
Tl : dr = I’ll never declare Kakashi as the best or ideal master (unlike Kishimoto haha). But when I first arrived at Naruto fandom, I was so surprised at fandom’s depiction of Kakashi as emotionless military teacher. Like, did no one see that Kakashi is actually a giant softie? He’s like 20x way softer compared to my real life teachers. Or is it cultural difference?
As for this topic, I wholeheartly agree with this post :
Tumblr media
Although of course I didn’t saw him as loving mother XD (Translation error? The actual page is in Chinese and I use Google Translate Page to convert it to english).

i lied, THIS is the last “in-progress naruto thoughts” post:
THOSE LAST SEVEN EPISODES HAD NO BUSINESS BEING SO WONDERFUL AFTER THE HELL THIS SHOW JUST PUT ME THROUGH.  i’m so happy.  i practically want to cry with relief; i’ve been so sad and down for the last two days feeling that my last moments of naruto were going to be something that i hated and that my last feelings about my first watch were going to be anger and disappointment, but THEY WEREN’T; the last arc came in from nowhere and hit me with the howling freight train of hope and joy that the actual ending of this show was supposed to have; and sure, it’s too bad that the real story will never have quite the ending it deserved, but this extra arc captured the spirit that the actual ending should have had; and that’s enough; i’ll take it; it’s enough for me that i was able to watch my last episode of naruto grinning from ear to ear.
this did EVERYTHING RIGHT.*  the hopeful tone, the bittersweet feeling that things are changing and it’s a little sad but also good, the focus on ALL the different characters, the highlighting of ALL the relationships we learned to care about - THIS IS WHAT IT WAS SUPPOSED TO FEEL LIKE.
i can’t even remember everything that made me smile or laugh or Feel something wonderful tonight.  konohamaru making a congratulations video for naruto.  kiba and akamaru tackling ino during team 10′s “congratulations” filming.  iruka being offered the vice principal position but feeling like he wants to keep teaching students one-on-one.  those three academy students who keep defacing the third hokage’s bust in the courtyard (HEROES!!!!  GIVE THOSE KIDS A MEDAL RIGHT NOW!!!!)  kakashi telling every single person who talks to him to stop calling him “lord.”  the five kage having a peaceful, happy, friendly summit and going out to dinner together.  team gai going absolutely bananas together like always and lee bouncing on gai’s bed and the number of times each member of the squad is like ‘neji would never tolerate this’ or ‘what would neji think,’ because he’s still such a present part of their lives.  shikamaru losing it in panic when choji’s smugly says “we???  *i* already got a gift.”  choji planning on using the third gift certificate for himself and being seated at a separate table XD XD XD XD.  TEMARI AND SHIKAMARU.  sakura and ino competing and fighting and reaffirming as always how close they actually are and how much they understand each other.  the fact that sakura has finally learned how to make food pills that don’t taste like sewage.  gaara and lee being friends and wandering the leaf village together.  kankuro saying that naruto would like an extravagant wedding gift, while an image flashes of naruto and hinata up on this wild podium like a circus casino with flashing lights and confetti (kankuro clearly understands naruto better than anyone; i stand by this).  killer bee planning a dance performance by the raikage for the wedding.  kankuro wanting SO BADLY to see gaara dancing too.  gaara deciding that he should honor naruto not as the kazekage, but as a friend.  shino connecting with those academy kids and instinctively teaching them to appreciate and find wonder in things they were initially afraid of/grossed out by; him being so uncertain and afraid of what’s going to happen when team 8 disbands, before finally discovering the confidence to keep moving forward alongside them.  “if you’re someone who’s living in the past, and can’t see the future, are you really living?”  kiba’s relentless confidence, happiness, his aggressive friendship.  iruka telling shino to consider a career in teaching.  kakashi replying “oink oink” to tonton in the weariest, most Done With Everything voice possible.  hinata asking kakashi where he’s going, and him literally responding “i’m going to take a nap.”  kakashi sprawled flat on his back in the grass.  iruka’s ongoing struggle to decide what to say to naruto and in what role to address him.  everyone agreeing to work shifts so they can all go to the wedding and still cover the village’s staffing needs.  kakashi refusing to accept a bad compromise.  COME HELL OR HIGH WATER.  “nobody leaves early, and nobody comes late!”  NARUTO ASKING IRUKA TO COME TO THE WEDDING AS HIS FATHER.  sakura receiving sasuke’s hawk with that one-word message: “congratulations.”
i’m going to CRY.  i’m so happy.  this was such an unexpected gift to receive.  i really thought my days of enjoying new naruto episodes were over, but a miracle happened and i was able to end my first experience with this show on a high note.  i watched those last credits roll while feeling nothing but love for this story, and that’s all i could ever ask for.

sasuke uchiha.  some things
age 3.
is small for his age.  all skinny limbs flailing around as he toddles after his big brother.  little hands clutches the leg of his green dinosaur plush, which reeks of spilled juice.  doesn’t let his mother take the stuffed dinosaur away for laundry.  finds the dinosaur gone when he wakes up one day.  finds it laying next to his pillow, smelling suspiciously clean the next day.  wants to play with his brother but is always told to wait until next time.  wonders if next time will ever come.
age 5.

age 13.
takes part in the chunin exams.  fights rock lee but loses.  is bit by orochimaru while trying to save naruto and sakura in the forest of death, resulting in the curse mark.  wins his chunin exam battle using a move from rock lee.  goes to the hospital.  breaks out of the hospital to train with kakashi.  learns the chidori.  fights with gaara and is the first to ever crack his sand armor.  later sees itachi and is choked and injured by him.  goes to the hospital again.  gets jealous of naruto’s progress and fights with him.  is tied up by kakashi.  leaves konoha.  is chased after by a genin team sent out to find him.  fights and beats naruto in the valley of the end.
age 15.
has trained under orochimaru for three years.  sees his old genin team, which is missing a member and has two new ones.  beats them easily.  kills orochimaru and takes his jutsus and his subordinates.  assembles team hebi.  defeats deidara, resulting in the akatsuki member’s death.  fights and kills itachi.  realizes that there will never be a next time.
age 16.
is told the truth by tobi.  has a panic attack.  awakens his mangekyo sharingan.  renames team hebi as team taka.  vows to destroy the leaf.  goes to the five kage summit in search of danzo.  fights the kages.  fights danzo and wins.  brings orochimaru back to life.  sees the reanimated hokages.  goes to fight in the war.  helps defeat kaguya.
age 17.
is in prison.  has his eyes and chakra sealed. sees nothing but darkness.  is interrogated by ibiki.  is not fed much and grows thinner by the day.  fantasizes about seeing his family again.  knows that they’re only fantasies and will never come true.
age 18.
is released from prison.  leaves konoha as a shell of the person he once was.  has nothing left in him.  is tired, always so tired, but toils on to protect the village in honor of itachi.  stops gambling rings and frees prisoners.  saves people.  doesn’t ask for gratitude.  doesn’t ask for anything.  is broken and tired.  gone is all his anger and need for justice, replaced by quiet obedience and guilt. is no longer the person he used to be.
age 32.
has a daughter now, a newly-minted genin named sarada.  fights gods and wins.  does the dirty work for konoha but receives no glory.  is feared by nations.  is known by many, his name alone bringing even the dirtiest of criminals to their knees.  thinks of his old self with contempt.  doesn’t know that he was right all along.  is brainwashed and guilt-tripped, working for the village that has his entire clan’s blood staining its hands.  is not the sasuke he once was.

Zukka + moonspirit!Sokka
So I love to write fics but I’m horrible at committing and finishing them out but here’s a rough outline/headcanon for prince zuko and moonspirit Sokka (this is gonna be long sorry)
To start Hakoda is chief of the Northern water tribe which obvs means that Sokka and Katara as well as Kya and Bato are all NWT (Kanna ran away from sexist Pakku and the southern tribe)
Aang is instead from the the Northern Air temple but still runs away and gets caught in a storm and freezes into an iceberg
The Northen Water Tribe gets attacked as the next expected place for the Avatar but thanks to the spirit oasis they’re a little more protected and are able to mostly withstand the numerous attacks; they still lose people but are not on the brink and still maintain a few waterbenders and Kya doesn’t die
Maybe a fire bender gets past their defenses and she gets burned idk but since there’s still water benders she’s healed up and lives (let the water tribe family be happy)
Sokka basically gets Yue’s backstory so that he can become moonspirit blessed
The war and fire nation all tracks with the show up (Sozin starts it, Iroh loses Lu Ten, Azulon order’s Zuko’s death and Ursa leaves, Ozai takes over) until Zuko’s Agni Kai
Iroh’s basically going through the motions after Lu Ten’s death, his depression made worse with the loss of his father and he pretty much doesn’t care that his birthright has been usurped by his little bro because he’d give it all up, live as the poorest person on earth, as long as it meant he had his son back
BUT THEN OZAI CHALLENGES HIS THIRTEEN YEAR OLD CHILD TO A SPIRITS DAMNED AGNI KAI
Iroh starts off with giving his brother the benefit of the doubt, like he knows the guys isn’t the greatest father but he’s not gonna HURT his kid right? Wrong. So the second Ozai cups his son’s face and Iroh sees the flames he snaps out of it and jumps into action
He literally jumps into the ring and pushes Ozai away, challenges him on the spot for the throne and Ozai might be the Fire Lord but Iroh is the MOTHER FUCKEN DRAGON OF THE WEST and kicks the guys ass
Ozai is thrown into the royal prison (and probably has some large burns because his brother can breathe fire??? And Iroh maybe vindictively made sure to burn the hand he hurt Zuko with so that everytime Ozai sees it he’ll remember why he’s there)
Zuko still has his scar but thanks to Iroh’s intervention it’s a little lighter, his sight and hearing on that sides a little fucked, and the outline of a handprint a little easier to discern but instead of the all encompassing shame and anger and pain when Zuko looks at his scar he’s reminded of how much his Uncle loves him and what he did to protect him (thinks of how much his mom loves him and probably Lu Ten because you can’t convince me that Iroh’s kid wasn’t like the best cousin ever)
He’s still a little self conscious of it because come on it’s a giant face scar from his father and he’s a teenager but it’s not as bad as in the show
Newly crowned Fire Lord Iroh declares the war over and since the 94 year or whatever war isn’t that catchy and Iroh wants it to be acknowledged that it was the fire nations fault it starts to be referred to as Sozin’s War
So fast forward three/four years and the world is slowly moving towards peace Fire Lord Iroh is hosting a small delegation of the leaders of the different nations to really start ironing out official peace treaties which means Hakoda and Fam come down from the North Pole and everyone finally meets!
BONUS
Lu Ten was a non-bender so became super skilled at a number of diff weapons and fighting styles
Zuko is understandablely freaked out by fire bending for awhile after the whole facing his father in a fire duel thing — Iroh remembers how Zuko seemed to like watching Lu Ten practice his swordsman skills so he calls on his good friend Master Piandao
Piandao takes one look at this little traumatized boy and goes ‘Bitch let’s get you some sword therapy’ and hands Zuko his first set of dao swords and during their training while Zuko’s too focused on getting his forms right he doesn’t realize that they’re not talking about swords anymore and instead he tells him about the Agni Kai and his scar and how he’s scared of his own fire
Piandao is the first person Zuko ever tells about how the Agni Kai wasn’t the first time his father hurt him; he’s also the first non family person Zuko’s ever cried in front of and gotten a hug from
Hakoda and Bato never leave to fight but make regular weeks long trips out to keep the defenses up so there’s still some worry that he won’t come back; Sokka’s not allowed to come along because his parents are a little over protective because of how he was born and only alive because the moonspirit blessed him but they still let him do some warrior training after Sokka convinced them about needing to know how to protect himself as son of the chief plus how kya was hurt
“If they got in once they can do it again!”
Sokka and Katara sneak out one day because they feel the need to make sure the Fire Navy is really retreating and they end up in some SiblingFight TM and Katara might have some people to help train her water bending but she’s still a teen girl and when she gets worked up her control kind of gets iffy and she ends up cracking a giant iceberg and FINDS A WEIRD BOY
A WEIRD BOY WHO TURNS OUT TO BE THE LAST AIRBENDER AND THE AVATAR
with Fire Lord Iroh declaring the war over and everyone slowly starting to believe him there’s no rush to get Aang powered up so instead the Water Tribe Sibs take him home and focus on figuring out what happened to Aang and giving him a history lesson in a more relaxed manner
They still take him to the air temple which is hard but Aang won’t believe them about the war until he sees proof and well the Fire Navy is gone and there is no angsty teen hunting him
Hakoda more or less adopts the kid while Aang hangs around the north pole to train and become BFFs with Sokka and Katara
Toph gets tired of her overprotective parents and runs away after she hears them wailing about marriage prospects or something; she finds her way to Omashu where some weird old crazy guy finds her and he says he’s king which is kind of confusing but whatever he gives her a place to stay, doesn’t expect her to act like a lady or treat her like a porcelain doll, he’s kind of funny and is a freaking amazing earth bender (almost as good as her)
Aang comes with Hakoda as part of his fam for the Peace Summit while Toph accompanies Bumi as part of the Earth Kingdom delegation and so the Gaang comes together while the adults fix shit like they should
Zukka specific
Iroh and Zuko greet all the delegations personally so Zuko’s first sight of Sokka is in full Water Tribe regalia and he thinks the white haired boy is the prettiest person he’s ever seen in his life
Sokka has pretty much the same reaction seeing the Prince of The Fire Nation (he feels a little bad about it because it’s only been like three years since the war ended and a lot of people still view the Fire nation as the enemy)
Sokka can’t sleep one night, he’s a bit of a night owl because of his connection, so he’s wandering around about trying to find an open quiet spot so that he can talk to the moon (the spirit saved him so he likes to talk to it like it’s his friend) when he catches Zuko practicing his dao
Zuko has nightmares and going through his dao forms relaxes him along with spending time at his precious turtleduck pond
Sokka is full on smitten after that (there’s nothing more attractive than a boy competently handling two swords)
Sokka asks Zuko to show him how to use his swords
There’s shy flirting between the two and good natured teasing from the others
Mai and Ty Lee come up with little schemes to get Zuko and Sokka alone which clash with the schemes Aang and Katara come up with
Toph choas goddess she is bounces between the two groups throwing out comments that she’s knows will cause the two different schemes to clash

Functional Training Exercises for Weight Loss:
Several functional training exercises can be incorporated into your weight loss routine in Lee's Summit. These exercises include squats, lunges, kettlebell swings, battle ropes, medicine ball slams, sled pushes, and TRX suspension training. By performing these exercises with proper form and gradually increasing the intensity, you can maximize fat burning and promote weight loss.
Interval Training and High-Intensity Workouts:
Functional training is often combined with interval training and high-intensity workouts to optimize weight loss results. These types of workouts involve short bursts of intense exercise followed by periods of rest or lower-intensity activity. Interval training not only improves cardiovascular fitness but also challenges your body to burn more calories during and after the workout. Incorporating interval training into functional workouts can enhance weight loss outcomes in Lee's Summit.
Personalization and Progression:
To ensure the effectiveness of functional training for weight loss, it is essential to personalize your workouts based on your current fitness level and goals. Whether you choose to work with a certified personal trainer or participate in group classes, tailoring your functional training routine to your specific needs can help you progress gradually and prevent plateaus. As you become fitter and stronger, you can increase the intensity, duration, and complexity of your exercises to continue challenging your body and promoting weight loss.
Nutrition and Lifestyle Factors:
While functional training is a powerful tool for weight loss, it is important to remember that exercise alone cannot guarantee optimal results. Pairing your workouts with a balanced and nutritious diet is crucial for sustainable weight loss. Focus on consuming whole foods, controlling portion sizes, and staying properly hydrated. Additionally, adopting a healthy lifestyle that includes sufficient sleep and managing stress levels can contribute to your overall weight loss journey in Lee's Summit.
Conclusion:
Functional training offers an effective and dynamic approach to weight loss in Lee's Summit. By engaging multiple muscle groups, increasing calorie burn, and incorporating interval training, you can achieve your weight loss goals while improving overall functional fitness. Remember to personalize your workouts, maintain a balanced diet, and adopt a healthy lifestyle for long-term success. Embrace functional training as a powerful tool on your weight loss journey and enjoy the positive impact it can have on your health and well-being in Lee's Summit.

A/N: for zutara week day 1! i’ve only watched half of korra so i don’t know what actually happens in canon, only that zutara didn’t 😔
AO3
  *     *     *
Toph is the first to leave. Her final wave is larger than life, her smile brighter than the sun, as she and the Bei Fong security team kickstart their ostrich horses. “See ya later!”
Katara watches her go from the steps of the Jasmine Dragon, laughing and crying.
“And so she sneaks in one last blind joke,” Sokka says, rubbing at his eyes. Suki rubs his back. “Those Bei Fongs better take care of her.”
“It’s ok,” Aang says, also wiping at tears. He slips his hand into Katara’s, a quiet show of affection that she knows everyone notices. “This isn’t where the journey ends!”
“How can you be so sure about that, Aang?” she asks. “Sure, there’s lots of rebuilding to do, but I’m not sure if we can exactly do it together and—”
“We can,” Zuko cuts in. Though it’s been so long, she’s reminded of the first time she saw him in the Jasmine Dragon. But now here he is, hair down and shaggy, the happiest she’s ever seen him.
“Aang and I can’t rebuild the world alone,” he says. A glimmer of hope takes root in her heart. “We’re going to need all your help. Aang and I want to hold annual Summit Weeks for the next three years to fully realize our vision of peace; we would be honored to have all of Team Avatar there.”
“Of course,” Sokka says. “No brainer, I’ll be there.”
“Me too,” says Suki. “The Kyoshi Warriors are honored to serve.”
“I’ll be there too,” Katara echos. So much has changed in the past year, and she wonders what will change in the next. “I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”
   *     *     *
Katara, Aang, and Sokka leave Ba Sing Se for the Southern Water Tribe, and Team Avatar’s first year apart begins.
Katara and Sokka set on rebuilding their home, bringing in new technology and infrastructure. They sit next to their father at council meetings, paving paths of future greatness. Aang sticks around for the first three months before he leaves too to restore the air temples. “Just like you’re building a future here for new generations of waterbenders,” he explains, hand on top of hers, “I’m going to do the same for airbenders. We need our homes back.”
He promises to visit once every few weeks, and Katara sees him off with a kiss. He blushes like he always does, and an overwhelming fondness fills her. Aang may be 113, but he’s 13 in her eyes, giddy to hold her close and call her his.
After he leaves, Katara forgets the rest of the world, only remembering it when Aang comes back full of stories. But one morning a messenger hawk is spotted on the horizon. She drops her scrolls to sprint to it-- Zuko . They haven’t spoken since Ba Sing Se, and she fumbles with the red ribbon around the message, shaking with excitement.
  Katara,
I know it’s been a while since you’ve heard from me, and I hope you’re doing well. As always, thank you for doing your part in ending the war. I also don’t know how I can thank you enough for saving my life; every day I’m reminded in some way.
Now that I’m settled in, I want to discuss plans for the new era of peace. For the Southern Water Tribe, this means reparations from the Fire Nation and electing a representative as a point of contact for our interim council. I’m drafting proposals and will be sending them over shortly; please let me know if I should be sending them to you, your father, or Sokka.
Again, I hope you’re doing well. The Summit Week will be a few months from now, and I hope to see you there. Write back soon.
Your friend,
Zuko
P.S. I know this letter may sound stuffy, and I’m Fire Lord now, but some part of me will always be the 16 year old rehearsing “Hello, Zuko here” and hoping for your forgiveness. Also, I hope Sokka’s not offended that I only sent this to you.
Sokka sticks his nose in the air when he reads this. “I am offended.”
“Oh grow up,” Katara says, laughing. “Think about how great it’ll be to see everyone again soon.”
Will Toph be taller, or Zuko’s hair shorter? Will Suki and Ty Lee go to the Summit? And speaking of the Summit, what can she advocate for during it? Katara picks up a pen and begins writing a reply, daydreaming about seeing her friends again in the back of her mind.
   *     *     *
“Twinkle toes, I missed you so much .”
Toph runs towards Appa and gives them all a hug as soon as they land. She’s a bit taller, and behind her is Zuko, hair a bit longer, who joins the hug as soon as Katara pulls him in.
“Where’s Suki?” Sokka asks.
“The Kyoshi Warriors insisted on being private security for the event,” Zuko explains. “But Suki, come on out. Your boyfriend is eager to see you, no one’s looking to kill me here.”
“Suki!” Sokka runs to her as soon she slips out of the shadows, and Katara’s heart fills. Everyone’s together again.
Later that evening, Zuko joins them for dinner in their suite. It’s a curious affair--fire flakes alongside stewed sea prunes, cabbage noodles, and tofu. Sokka eats like a vacuum, and Katara is pleased that Aang has so many choices. She wonders if Zuko did research beforehand.
“I hope you’ve all been briefed on the schedule for the coming week,” Zuko says. “And I know it seems like a lot. But rest assured that every event will lead to an action item on my docket.”
“And,” he continues, “it might be boring. Insufferable, even. But to the world, we’re one of the most important teams guiding things forward.”
“Don’t worry, Zuko, we can do it,” Katara says, and he looks at her with a smile. For the past few months they’ve exchanged letters about rebuilding the Southern Water Tribe (they’ll ask the North for funds too), outlawing bloodbending (Zuko promised to help), and the new name of the four nations.
“The United Republic of Nations,” Aang says, digging into his sweet buns. “I like it.”
   *     *     *
During the recess of The State of Bending talk, Zuko finds Katara and places a hand on her shoulder.
“People like Yakone are the worst,” he says. “But it’s going to be fine, don’t worry.”
“He’s pond scum!” Katara hisses. “I hate people who lie like that. And calling me not only a child but also a coward, with that look in his eye--Aang had to stop me from bloodbending him right there and then.”
“He’s pond scum, yes,” Zuko agrees, “but all you have to do is hear him out and make sure the interim councilmembers hear your arguments. I’ll back you up.”
“I know, I know. But still, pond scum!”
“Yup,” Zuko says, a smile on his face. “He’s cold ashes. We can take him.”
“You’re right.” Katara thinks of the times they followed each other into battle. This is no different; if anything, at least they’re not putting their lives on the line. “Thanks, Zuko.”
“No problem.” His smile grows soft. “And as always, I’m the one who should be thanking you.”
He follows her back into the meeting room where she makes history, her eyes glowing with the conviction she soon becomes famous for.
   *     *     *
Almost two years later, after another Summit Week passes and just before the third one, Zuko sends Katara a letter that begins with It’s official! and ends with a copy of the new legislation outlawing bloodbending.
And in the middle of the Southern Air Temple’s training grounds, Katara jumps and yells with excitement.
Within a minute Aang is by her side, concern in his eyes. “Is everything alright?”
“Yes yes yes!” She kisses him on the cheek, and he looks confused. “The Council passed that bloodbending legislation! Oh, Aang, this is so great.”
“Oh yeah--awesome!” He says. “I’m really happy for you!”
“I can’t believe it actually worked,” Katara holds the letter close to her heart. “I can’t believe it!”
“I know, this is so good for you,” Aang says, his voice a bit rushed. “And I’m sorry but—”
“You have to go tend to the Air Acolytes,” Katara says. “I’m not in danger, don’t worry! You can hurry back.”
“Thanks for always understanding,” Aang says, giving her a quick kiss. Then he leaves in a gust of air, and Katara sits on the soft grass, feeling the breeze.
Aang resists political involvement, citing the Avatar’s need for neutrality, so it’s understandable that he isn’t as excited as her. Aang needs to preserve the traditions of the Air Nomads, so it’s understandable that he can’t be with her all the time. Aang is constantly called to stop civil wars or investigate malicious spirits, so it’s understandable that Katara sometimes goes a week without seeing him even if he asked her to live with him for a bit.
Katara understands these things, and yet some part of her yearns for the South Pole, for anywhere that feels like home. She’s acutely aware that Aang’s duty is to the world, and yet some part of her feels so small and alone.
At least there’s this letter. It's confirmation that her work these past few years has been worth it. And if the rumors are true, the nation heads are working on a new permanent council to govern the United Republic of Nations.
The era of peace is being fully realized, and Katara wonders how she can ask for a seat on the council.
A few weeks later, just as she begins writing a letter to ask her father if he could recommend her ( I know I’m barely 18, I know I only have experience with our small tribe, but I know I’m the best person for the job ), a message arrives.
I’ve written to your father to ask him to nominate you for the Southern Water Tribe Representative on the new council, Zuko says. If I could recommend you myself, I would. If he nominates you (and I don’t see why he wouldn’t), prepare to defend that nomination at the upcoming Summit.
Katara nearly cries, and Aang places a hand on top of hers. Even the sun seems to shine brighter; a leaf dances in through the window of the study room.
“Is everything alright?” he asks.
“Everything’s great,” she says. The thought of potentially moving to Republic City as a councilmember (and thereby leaving Aang’s side for some time) briefly flickers in her mind. “I have some great news.”
   *     *     *
The third and final Summit Week comes, and Katara has the daunting task of defending her nomination in front of the nations’ leaders. Even though this really only means speaking in front of the Earth King and Northern Water Tribe Chief (Aang, Zuko, and her father are also in the room, but do they really count?), this is turned against her.
“Your father, partner, and longtime friend are likely going to vote for your approval. You already have three out of five votes secured. What do you say to people who claim nepotism?”
“With all due respect,” Zuko cuts in, a bit angry, “this question seems unfair, and—”
“It’s ok,” Katara says, voice measured. “People are going to say this. And to that I say that my accomplishments in the Southern Water Tribe, from securing and using reparations funds to build our growing nation to advocating for all waterbenders, not just the men, speaks volumes. I also originated the legislation that’s now in place to outlaw bloodbending. I pushed for these initiatives with the help of the people you just named, but ultimately I did it.”
Zuko smiles. He remembers some old campfire story Sokka told about Sapphire Fire as he watches Katara talk her through every sticky question. She’s going to do great on The Council, no doubt.
She’s already amazing.
   *     *     *
Katara sighs in relief when the nation heads confirm her council seat.
Team Avatar celebrates over dinner. Only it isn’t a private room this time, like it was two years ago--this time around, it’s in the Fire Nation palace, in the biggest hall Katara has ever seen. Everyone invited to Summit Week dines together, the golden walls housing the noisy chatter of the most important people in the world.
Zuko prepared formal clothes for them tailored to their respective traditions, and as always, his quiet attention to detail never fails to amaze her.
“Tonight, we feast!” Sokka says, opening their table’s meal with a toast. “To my sister, who has never failed to be annoying and fight for the things she cares about. The Southern Water Tribe and the world are in debt to you, Councilwoman Katara.”
“To Katara!” Aang says, and everyone follows suit. Their glasses clink together, and Katara feels at home for the first time in a long time.
Toph tells them about all the lies she’s heard today (“People even lie about the kinds of tea they like, how weird is that!”), Suki pretends to chi block Sokka when he steals food off her plate, and Aang and Zuko trade friendly insults about who’s taller.
It’s perfect.
   *     *     *
Dear Zuko,
Thanks so much for your support in nominating me to the council. You beat me to asking my father for his recommendation, and your confidence in me means the world. For what it’s worth, the way you and Aang have been dealing with the newly freed Fire Nation colonies is incredible. The world is lucky to have you both.
Moving to Republic City is going to be tricky, but I’ll be there before the end of month. I hope to see you there not only for my swearing in ceremony, but also for advising sessions. I’m sure we’ll see each other soon. Still kind of surreal!
Speaking of surreal things, I can’t believe you’ve been raising a dragon. On the one mission I was allowed to join Aang on, we found a herd of sky bison; they’re not extinct either! Appa’s babies are going to be so cute.
And finally, speaking of cute things, I’ve attached a painting that an Air Acolyte child did of you. Look--the scar is on the right side.
Your friend,
Katara
   *     *     *
Moving to Republic City is tricky because Aang’s schedule collides with, well, everything.
Katara brings it up one night over dinner. “How is visiting each other going to work?”
“I don’t know,” Aang says. He picks up some silken tofu gently with his chopsticks, careful to not let it split. “This next month the Southern Air Temple is pretty set, but there’s two more to fill with Acolytes. There’s still rumors of civil unrest in the freed colonies. Zuko said he wanted an Air Temple Island next to Republic City, right? Maybe I could stay there?”
“Zuko wants your supervision on it, but the Island might not be ready for construction for another year at least. What if you stayed in the city with me for some time?”
“I don’t know,” Aang says with a sigh. “There’s too much to do, and I think the Eastern Air Temple needs full restoration next to establish a spiritual home. I’m really sorry, I know this is your dream and I’m making it difficult.”
“It’s ok, don’t worry,” Katara says. “You’re the Avatar. You serve the world.”
“I wish I could do more for you too though.” Aang looks remorseful, and Katara places her hand over his. He hesitates, then asks, “Do you--do you think you could ever take a week off and find me?”
Katara pulls her hand back. “What? No. The Council has so much to do, I even just wrote this whole Constitution proposal, and I don’t think that I could just leave for a week without that having serious conseq—”
“Oh, yeah, wait, I really didn’t mean to imply that leaving your job to see me wouldn’t have serious consequences.” Aang grabs her hand, and she appreciates the quick backtrack.
But it still stings. “Our jobs aren’t equally important and that’s ok,” she says, “but we have to figure out a system to see each other. Do you know a rough timeline of what next year would look like for you yet?”
“No,” Aang says, quiet. “Like I said, there’s too much to do. All I know...all I know is that I don’t want to feel like I’m losing you because you’re my forever girl.”
“Aang, you’re not losing me.” A beat passes, and she hesitates. “But forever is--forever is a really long time and I don’t know how to think about that, let’s focus on the next few years maybe--”
“I was trapped in ice for 100 years, Katara!” She can see tears brimming in his eyes, and it’s hard to comfort him when she’s the one doing the hurting. “A few years is nothing. I might have been trapped forever, if not for you or Sokka--I know how precious time is, but also how to wait, and I know I want you in my time.”
“I know that’s what you want,” Katara says, voice soft. And the next words to come out of her mouth are dangerous, something she only thinks when she’s alone. When Aang leaves her with a gust of wind. When she thinks about how the Southern Water Tribe might not even feel like home anymore; Sokka says so much has changed in the last year she’s been gone. “If we can’t see each other for the next few years, I’m not sure what I want.”
Aang is silent, and Katara’s stomach sinks. How could I say that?
But also, her heart soars— thank God I was able to say that.
“I understand,” he finally says. He stands and picks up their empty bowls. “You need to find your way. And for now, that isn’t with me.”
Tears well in her eyes. She nods.
   *     *     *
Katara,
Aang told me what happened. I really hope you’re doing ok. When Mai broke up with me, I was devastated, but I understood that she wanted more out of life than watching other people live it. Not to say that’s what you’re doing, but more that I understood her perspective, much like I’m sure Aang will understand yours. (I realize this is completely unsolicited personal advice advice. Don’t worry, I’ve attached suggested edits to your constitution proposal to this letter.)
But really, if you need anything to get to Republic City, let me know. Druk’s gotten big enough to fly now, and the palaces always have empty rooms ready to receive guests. I can also always make arrangements.
Your Friend,
Zuko
(Aang still insists on dropping her off to Republic City, which Katara knows is his way of saying sorry. When they arrive, trying very hard not to cry, she hugs Aang as tight as she can before sliding off Appa.
“Write often,” she says. “And thank you.”
“I will,” he says. “And I should be thanking you, so don’t worry. I’ll see you later.”
He leaves with a defeated look on his face, and that’s when Katara lets herself cry.)
   *     *     *
Living in Republic City still doesn’t feel real. Katara has never had a place to call her own before, and the idea of this apartment being hers is foreign.
At her swearing in ceremony, Zuko and her father are the only familiar faces in the crowd. Sokka, Toph, and Suki are all home as far as she knows, and Aang is at the Eastern Air Temple. But Zuko and her father bring flowers and words of congratulations, and that’s more than enough.
“Your mother would be so proud,” Hakoda says. “I knew even before you and Zuko sent those letters that you’d be the one for the job.”
“Thanks Dad,” Katara says, holding him tight for a hug. “I wish Mom were here to see this.”
“Me too.”
Next is Zuko, holding a bouquet of fire lilies. “I don’t remember if you like flowers, but I figured they’re a nice formality. Congrats, Councilwoman Katara.”
She holds the flowers and pulls him in close for a hug. “They’re beautiful. Thanks.”
A few weeks later, Katara finishes the first official draft of the United Republic’s Constitution. It’s one thing to read the historical documents that shaped each nation, and another to write them herself. Undeniable rights, government structure, due process--it's all she can think about for weeks.
She sends copies to all her friends, looking for advice. But it’s nice to catch up in the letters too; Suki has moved to the Southern Water Tribe for the time being. Sokka says Master Pakku and Gran Gran are disgustingly in love. Even Aang replies--it’s short and Katara can hear the hurt in his voice, but he’s trying, and that’s all she can ask for.
Zuko is the only person whose feedback she can hear in person. When he’s not advising the greater Council or overseeing construction of Air Temple Island he’s in Katara’s office, dropping off scrolls and occasionally serving tea.
"The Jasmine Dragon’s White Dragon,” Katara says, reading the label on the tin that Zuko carefully measures leaves from. He laughs. “What’s so funny?”
“My uncle once drank something thinking it was white dragon, but it was white jade. And you think it wouldn’t be too bad, but he was covered in rashes for days. Everywhere.”
Katara smiles. “That’s horrible.”
“It’s ok, we figured it out.” Zuko’s eyes have a faraway look, one that Katara often sees in herself. So much has changed in the past five years, but sometimes it’s easy to get lost in thinking about what it was like when the world was ending.
“Anyway,” Zuko says. “I have a free night a month from now, and we should get dinner at this new place I hear is good.”
“Kwong’s Cuisine?”
“Yup, that’s the one!” Zuko clears his throat. “Oh, and, to clarify, other people should come too if they’re free. Like, if Sokka is in town, or Suki, or Toph, or Aang. Although, I guess maybe not Aa—”
“Zuko,” Katara says with a laugh. “It’s fine. Kwong’s Cuisine a month from now sounds great.”
“Ok, sorry. Anyway, the Constitution…”
When he leaves, Katara finds herself smiling. Zuko’s cute when he’s flustered.
   *     *     *
Katara only has one set of clothes fancy enough for Kwong’s, and it’s the set that Zuko gave her at the Summit a year ago.
Zuko notices when she arrives. “Are these the—”
“Yeah,” she says. “I guess it might be a bit embarrassing, but I don’t have much time to go shopping.”
“It’s not embarrassing, and that makes sense.” She takes a seat across from him. “If anything, it’s embarrassing how many robes I have. They have stewed sea prunes here, by the way. ”
“My favorite!”
They order a strange blend of Fire Nation and Water Tribe foods, but to their credit, the wait staff says nothing, only bowing deeply.
Katara refills their tea cups. “Speaking of sea prunes--even at the Summit, four years ago, when you had them served for dinner. How on earth did you remember that Sokka and I liked them?”
“You said it one random night years ago,” Zuko says. “And maybe Sokka said it in his sleep. The night we all came to Ember Island, I think.”
Katara’s impressed. “Wow, you remember that so clearly.”
Zuko nods, and there’s that faraway look in his eyes again. “Everything in the days after I joined Team Avatar and leading up to that final Agni Kai I remember very clearly.”
“Me too.”
Katara places her hand over his, briefly, to pull him back in the present. It seems to work.
“But hey,” she says. “Look where we are now! And to be honest, sometimes what I remember most is how mean I was to you in the beginning.”
What she doesn’t say is what she actually remembers most is Zuko jumping in front of lightning for her.
He laughs. “I remember you threatening to kill me if I ever stepped out of line.”
“Hey, hey,” Katara says. “Again, like I said, look where we are now! A valid point at the time though.”
“I know,” Zuko says. He’s handsome when he smiles too.
A few weeks after Kwong’s, Katara replays the night in her head and steps out of the shower, bending herself dry. Fuck, she thinks. I'm in love with Zuko.
   *     *     *
Katara can’t pinpoint exactly when she started having feelings for Zuko, but now that she’s in the thick of it, it doesn’t matter.
What matters is that when she signs the Constitution, he hands her the pen. When rumors of bloodbending start, he helps her squash illegal training camps. When Toph joins the police force, he’s at her side to welcome her on the steps of City Hall.
“Sugar Queen, Sparky!” Toph opens her arms for a hug and Katara sprints into it. “It’s good to see you.”
“Toph, it’s so good to see you.”
“Orientation starts in a few minutes, so I have to go. But Sparky, that life-changing field trip--I still need it. I expect an itinerary by the end of the week.”
Zuko smiles. “You got it.”
The curious thing about being in love with the Fire Lord is that it’s not the grand things that Katara likes. It’s the small things. The way he always remembers to ask her how she’s doing, or how he sends tins of white dragon tea to her office. Even when she doesn’t see him for a week (Katara knows Zuko must be horribly busy and doesn’t understand how he has the energy to fly to Republic City on a weekly basis), thoughts of him live in her mind.
And so it’s terrifying but also easy after their second dinner at Kwong’s to move in a bit closer than she normally would.
“Thanks for flying me home,” Katara says. “I’m sure Druk wants to go home now too.”
“He doesn’t like the city. It’s too dense for him.” Zuko’s hard to read, as usual, and it’s terrifying to bet their friendship on this, but she knows she has to. “It might be ti—”
She cuts him off to kiss him, and for a second, time stops. But then another second passes, and another, and Katara is pulling back because ok, wow, holy shit was that the wrong thing to do .
But then he pulls her in tighter, kisses her more deeply, and happiness fills Katara the way fire lilies drink in rain after a drought.
“I love you,” he says, arms tight around her waist as he pulls her in for a hug. “I love you, and sometimes it feels like I’ve loved you all my life.”
   *     *     *
Fire Nation summers are unforgivingly hot, and in the last few months of her term as councilwoman, Katara finds herself spending more time in the palace with Zuko.
She’s nominated Sokka to take her place on the United Republic Council, and he and Suki are moving to Republic City next weekend. It’s just in time for the unveiling of Air Temple Island. Aang will be the guest of honor, and Toph his security.
“I don’t think we’ve all been together since the summit four years ago,” Zuko says. They’re feeding the turtleducks at sunset, the only time of day when it finally starts cooling down.
She bends little ripples in the water, and the turtleducklings quack with delight.
“It’ll be great to see everyone again,” Katara says. “And I can’t wait for Sokka to start working so I don’t have to anymore.”
“Have you given more thought to what you want to do once you leave?”
She nods. “Yes, but there’s so much to do. I could train new healers or new waterbenders in the south. I could lobby for special interests like the former colonists. I could travel the world for personal enjoyment. Right now I’m leaning towards going back to the south.”
“That does sound like a lot to think about.”
“I know,” Katara says. “And I once fought with Aang about it, but now I understand. Sometimes it feels like there’s too much to do, and it’s easy to feel like you don’t know where to get started.”
“I have a suggestion,” Zuko says, “if it’s hard to get started. You could stay here, with me.”
Her heart skips a beat. “Stay?”
“Stay,” he says, like it’s simple, obvious even, for Katara to uproot her life and live in the Fire Nation.
To be fair, it wouldn’t be much uprooting. All she has is her apartment in Republic City, and even that doesn’t have many things in it.
“Hmm,” she says. “I never really thought about that.”
Zuko takes her hand, laces her fingers through his. Her heart aches at how gentle it is. “Maybe I’m not suggesting so much as I’m asking.  You can split your time between here and the South Pole, even just three to four months out of the year here would be fine.”
“You’d really want me to stay?”
“Of course,” Zuko says. It’s unspoken, but Katara knows there’s the possibility of staying in the Fire Nation permanently down the line. And even more unspoken--she’s only 21, after all--is the possibility of being Fire Lady.
“I’ll take your suggestion,” Katara says, “and much like your letters, I’ll give you a response in five to ten business days.”
He groans and she laughs, kisses him on the cheek.
“Yes,” she says. “I’ll stay.”
   *     *     *
A little more than a decade after Zuko’s coronation, Team Avatar reunites in the Fire Nation for a wedding.
It’s an entire day of ceremonies that marry Water Tribe and Fire Nation tradition. Zuko and Katara kneel in front of the Southern Water Tribe, the Fire Nation, and the spirits to bind their souls in marriage. It feels like the world’s oldest love story (Tui and La, Oma and Shu, Zuko and Katara), and in a way, it is. The brilliant blue of her robes pair nicely with his scarlet red, and the world cheers when they raise their hands together.
The dinner party is the first time of day where Katara can talk to Zuko. She tells him how handsome he looks and how much she loves him. She murmurs these words quickly--in the only break with tradition that day, Katara demanded that they be seated with all their friends and not separately.
She does it so she can look around at the people she loves most. Toph, Sokka, Suki, Aang, Zuko --these are the people who bookend her life.
She’s home.

Wolf in Leaf’s Clothing
And that is how Lee found himself greeting a new day’s dawn without a single wink of sleep. (Konoha Hiden Ch. 1) | Discord Gift-o-Ween for @nadashikiyaboi
                                      ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Gaara still hasn’t decided how he feels about the new moon.
It is, for all intents and purposes, not much different than the old moon. But it is one thing to see the moon as a large rock which controls the tides, and another as something made by one of your friends for the purposes of containing godly forces.
It’s all a bit much to wrap his head around, even for someone like Gaara.
It would be easier, he thinks, if the people in Konoha would stop acting as if the changes in the moon weren’t doing anything to them.
“Kakashi-san,” Gaara says gently, because he has gotten better at delivering news than he used to be, “I am concerned about your spirit.”
Kakashi blinks at him, and then his eyes crease in the suggestion of a smile. “My mood is fine, Gaara, but your worry is touching.”
Gaara pauses. “I am glad to hear you’re adjusting well. However, the spirit I am concerned about is over there.”
He points to Obito, who is standing by Kakashi, alarmingly corporeal for someone who is only visible in the light of the moon. Obito waves. “Hi.”
“Oh, him!” Kakashi says, as if just noticing his new company. He waves a hand dismissively. It passes through Obito, which doesn’t really tell Gaara much about how solid the man is, given his history. “Obito’s fine. He’s not doing anything.”
“He’s here,” Gaara feels the need to point out.
“So are we,” Kakashi says, in a tone which suggests he’s saying something wise.
Gaara sighs. “Never mind.”
--
“Sasuke,” Gaara finds himself inquiring next, “there is something I have been meaning to ask you.”
True to form, Sasuke shrugs. “And?”
“This box of dirt,” he says, gesturing to Sasuke’s current seat. ‘Coffin’ would perhaps be more accurate than ‘box’, but all of Gaara’s shinobi training has told him that knowledge requires open-mindedness. “What is it for?
Sasuke raises his one visible eyebrow, crossing his arms. “You carry around a gourd of sand. How is that any different?” he asks curtly.
“My gourd is for my jutsu,” Gaara reminds him. “Are you... developing a new technique?”
Sasuke looks at him for a long moment, and then admits, “I’m trying to cross the river.”
Gaara’s lips turn up at the corners. Pride is an easy enough sticking point to understand. Perhaps the box is not a coffin after all. The purpose of the soil is unclear, but then, there are few bodies of water in Suna. “A boat then. You haven’t learned how to swim. But I find it difficult to believe that a shinobi of your calibre would have any difficulty walking on water with chakra.”
Sasuke scoffs. “I know how to swim and walk on water. It’s just not that simple.”
Gaara can’t gauge his meaning, so he places a foot on the water himself, channelling his chakra to the soles of his feet. It stands without trouble. Tentatively, he places his second foot, and finds himself looking at Sasuke askance.
Sasuke makes an expression which is startlingly familiar. Gaara has spent enough time with Naruto and Sakura to know the face of someone who is preparing to embarrass themselves. With a huff of resignation, Sasuke moves his feet quickly onto the water.
Sasuke is unceremoniously flung from the river back onto the shoreline without a single pause in the water’s flow. He lands on his tailbone with a scowl.
“That is... peculiar,” Gaara agrees, eyeing the water beneath his feet warily. “How long has the river been behaving this way?”
“Since I arrived back in Konoha after the war.”
Gaara frowns. He steps off the water, and then crouches down by the river to inspect. He sees nothing but clear, untainted water flowing around the Naka shrine at the river’s head. An image of his own face frowns back at him.
The frown gets deeper when he realizes Sasuke has swiftly moved to mirror his position, but marks no presence leaning above the water, in reflection or shadow.
“These changes happen only at night?” Gaara guesses, with a watchful eye cast at the sky.
In his periphery, Gaara sees Sasuke shrug again. “I wouldn’t know. I travel mostly by night. When it’s daylight, I sleep.”
“Peculiar,” Gaara says again, and he and Sasuke sigh in unison.
--
Most suspicious of all to Gaara, is the matter of Rock Lee’s eyebrows.
It may be because in his visits to Konoha, Gaara often finds himself spending more time with Lee than almost any other village resident, but he has certainly come to know the other boy’s face quite well.
So during their next meal at Yakiniku Q, when Lee’s eyebrows suddenly expand to thrice their size, and join at the middle, Gaara feels compelled to ask, “Is everything alright with you, Lee?”
“Never better, Gaara-kun!” Lee declares. “Lately, I have found myself filled with a youthful energy unlike anything I have ever experienced!”
Gaara smiles. It seems some things are yet unchanged. “That is good to hear. Is this the result of a new training regimen?”
With a beaming grin, Lee pulls the sunagimo off the brazier before it has cooked through. “It is a lifestyle change! I have altered both my eating habits and my schedule to maximize my strength. This meat has hardly lost any fat or nutrients!”
It is not the strangest thing Gaara has heard a shinobi do to gather his strength, so he nods. “That would certainly have some benefits,” he agrees, leaving his own sunagimo on the grill. While he has appreciated a spar with Lee once in a while, his own priorities for training are different.
“But that is not all.” Lee says proudly. “I have been training even in my sleep!”
“In your sleep?” Gaara repeats. “What do you mean?”
Lee adds another round of meat to their grill, leaning forward conspiratorially. “Just that!” he says, locking eyes with Gaara. The unibrow seems to wiggle as he does. “I fall asleep, but when I wake up, I know I have been practicing my taijutsu, because my hands and feet show the wear of a shinobi who has given his all!”
Gaara can recall a time in his life when marks had seemed to appear on his body he lost consciousness, but that was when Shukaku was still with him. While no such thing could happen to Lee, his growing concern for his comrades in Konoha prompts him to ask, “Do you remember anything when you wake up?”
Lee shakes his head. “When I wake up, I am unable to recall the events of the previous night. I simply find myself in another part of the village.” There is no hint of worry in his tone. “I can be sure that I have trained hard, though because every morning my jumpsuit has been stretched, barely able to contain my muscles!”
Gaara glances down at Lee’s outfit. It doesn’t seem very stretched out, but Lee’s measure of his own success are usually quite honest. “I see,” he says, even if he does not.
“Ah, Gaara-kun, it is okay to admit when you are confused!” Lee observes, smile growing larger. “This jumpsuit is new! I could not wear one in tatters to dine with my dear friend!”
Helpfully, Lee somehow manages to pull an entire jumpsuit from the pocket of his flak jacket. ‘Tatters’ is a fitting term; there are tears along the arms, legs, and back, and it certainly does seem as if the fabric has been pulled around.
“This looks like it was torn apart by a wild beast,” Gaara says, reaching a hand out to examine the cloth.
Lee’s cheeks colour, and Gaara gathers he has made a social error. He opens his mouth to apologize, but Lee, with tears in his eyes, replies, “Gaara-kun, to have my name acknowledged as Konoha’s Green Beast by the Kazekage himself is an honour indeed!”’
“Er, that is—”
“We must commemorate this moment with a hot-blooded embrace!”
Gaara flushes. “Lee what are you—“
In the blink of an eye, Lee has rounded the table and pulled Gaara bodily into a hug. In surprise, Gaara flinches and Lee’s teeth collide with Gaara’s forehead in what might be called world’s most embarrassing rendition of a kiss.
“My apologies!” says Lee, pulling back. “I realize now that you were not prepared for our embrace. Would you prefer a high five?” he adds, more gently.
Lee raises a hand in offering. When Gaara glances up, he sees that Lee’s palm has been covered in thick black hair, not unlike the state of his brow.
Gaara sighs and high-fives Lee with a bemused smile.
--
As Kazekage, there is a delicate nature to Gaara’s diplomatic relations.
There are areas in which his viewpoint may not be welcome, and opinions which would not endear him a village which, not so many years ago, he had been comfortable to attack.
If being the Kazekage has taught Gaara anything, it is that shinobi are stubborn to a fault. In Suna, trying to deliver a criticism of the village’s idiosyncrasies is like trying to grasp a single grain of sand in a windstorm. Konoha, while warmer, is not so different.
Still, Gaara is a man of duty, and would not fail to protect his friends because of pretense.
Late at night, he finds himself seeking out someone who has never failed to come to his aid in difficult times.
“There is something wrong with Konoha,” he tells Naruto.
Naruto laughs. “You sound like Sasuke.”
Gaara blanches, mind’s eye on the coffin at the Naka river. “I mean this seriously, Naruto. Each person I encounter has something different about them when the moon comes out. Even Rock Lee.”
“Going on a date with Bushy-Brows is going to be weird no matter what time of day you go,” Naruto teases, elbowing him.
Gaara clears his throat and wills himself not to be diverted. “Kakashi-san is surrounded by ghosts,” he implores.
“Sensei’s always talking about the past,” comes the cheerful reply.
Gaara rather thinks that Obito hardly qualifies as ‘the past’ when he was lurking in Kakashi’s office for their last summit meeting, arguing with Kakashi’s ANBU guard about how to best take care of his office plants. He wonders exactly how Team 7 gets any decisions made at all.
Needing to impress upon Naruto the severity of the matter, Gaara claps a hand onto Naruto’s shoulder. “Uchiha Sasuke is unable to sleep at night.”
Naruto raises an eyebrow at him, and Gaara realizes how he must sound. He had never expected a day where Uzumaki Naruto would be the person telling him to act more rational. “Maybe you should take some time off from all of these Kage summits, Gaara,” Naruto says, with an easy smile. “If Kakashi-sensei couldn’t get Sasuke to sleep at a normal time, it doesn’t have to be your job. I don’t want you to tire yourself out of being Kazekage before I become Hokage, y’know.”
Gaara takes a deep breath. “You could be right. I have been feeling out of sorts this evening. Lee knocked into me at dinner, and ever since my eyes have been aching.”
A concerned line crosses Naruto’s features. “Have you thought about asking Sakura to check them out?”
“In the morning,” Gaara replies, staring up at the moon. Sitting on the roof of an apartment building with Naruto is as much exposure to the sky as he has had in Konoha for days. Like this, the moon doesn’t look quite so threatening. If anything, it is a comfort, a round face in the sky winking at him and lighting his path.
Naruto looks at him out of the corner of his eye. “In this light, it kind seems like they’re glowing yellow. Maybe you’re the one who’s changing at night, y’know?” he suggests, grinning widely. “Did something bite you?”
“Almost,” says Gaara ruefully, rubbing at his forehead. Something about the motion feels off, so he glances down at his hand. Just like Lee, his hand is covered in hair.
Gaara screams, while the moon continues to twinkle in the sky.

I started writing an outline for a non existent Flower Shop AU series but it just turned into Loving Avatar Thuy Hours.
Here are some great things about Avatar Thuy (SUPER long post because I love Thuy):
She tells her folks that she’s a girl around the same time she tells them about the bald man who taught her to sling mud. Because there’s not a lot of gendered differences in the Swamp Tribe, the trans thing wasn’t a big deal. Finding out their daughter was the Avatar, on the other hand, REALLY WAS.
The concept of “kin” (FOLKLORE TERM) and the connection of all life in the swamp via the root system has a profound spiritual effect on Thuy. She can perfectly call up any Avatar and, as she gets older, can channel them easily when in the Avatar State. For the on-screen Avatars, here’s Thuy’s hot takes:
Wan- She is Not A Fan. Doesn’t like how he shifts between being super cocky and super insecure. Wishes he had not closed off the Spirit Realm. (Not like it worked, as she gestures angrily around the swamp)
Yangchen- When Thuy learned about Fairy Godmothers from a book of Fairy Tales someone brought into the Swamp, this is immediately who Thuy thought of. Yangchen was always calming and patient, and listened every time Thuy would rant about her cousins stealing a toy or when someone pushed her into the swamp. Family is big in the Swamp and Yangchen became another mother.
Kuruk- He can’t handle kids. He also cannot handle the concept of hick Waterbenders. He is a North Pole Waterbender and (SPOILERS) fell for a high class Fire Nation Lady so, he does not like the Swamp. The Swamp is not a fan of his either.
Kyoshi- TBH Thuy was intimidated by her at first. However, when puberty hit, they talked a lot about body dysmorphia and what it means to be a woman. Thuy was able to accept her body with the continued help of Kyoshi.
Roku- Roku is a story-teller. He told Thuy about the start of the war, and his time with Sozin. He talked about Azulon and what the royal family used to be like. Thuy was fascinated by the Fire Nation, wondering how such a mythological sounding people could do something so human like wage war.It allowed her to think of the Fire Nation as something more than just The Enemy.
Aang- The first Avatar to greet her. He was her confidante and like a very fun grandpa. He taught her to meditate and throw mud pies (breaking the rules by tiptoeing into Earthbender territory). He talked about the war as it was happening, and explained to her how important it was that she grow up safe. He talked about his kids and asked her about the Swamp. He explained how important it was to understand how all things, all nations, were connected and to make friends in every nation. He told her about Zuko, and about his grandkids. Especially Rohan, who might know a thing or two about pronouns.
Sometimes, catgators are tame enough to keep near the residents. However, this is similar to things we see in the news when people keep exotic pets. Tame does NOT equal domestic, and bad things happen. So when Thuy shows up with Mister Whiskers, Everyone Is Quite Alarmed.
Catgators, like real life catfish, are also borderline cryptids. No one knows how old they get. Or how big.
I imagine catgators move like alligators and can be surprisingly fast for their flat, fat bodies. Remember kids, run in a zig zag because they WILL get you.
I am from Florida. I live in Florida once again. My family has lived in Florida since we came to this country. I was “poor white trash” and had an accent. I am NOT indigenous (see above comment about coming to this country). I give Thuy a lot of traits from what I remember about growing up, things I know about the rural south via my family, and throw in the pieces I like from canon. I also want to explore topics that are indigenous specific like what’s happening to the Amazon and the continued sins my country commits on native and/or sacred land. As a sensitivity point: I do not wish to ever write about the trials and tribulations of these issues. That is for native people, as they are the ones who truly understand the generational trauma surrounding it. What I would hope to do is bring awareness to real world situations where we as non-indigenous people can assist.
Don’t let them cut down the Amazon y’all for real. And blowing up Mount Rushmore is RIDICULOUS.
Thuy loves people. Because she’s so used to being around a supportive community, and being a teenager, she doesn’t understand when adults are rude or mocking at first.
However, she is VERY secure about who she is as a person. Her family and tribe has always supported her, so she has a very strong foundation. It takes a lot to rock her. Mostly, she gets embarrassed when people call her out or make fun of her for being loud and overly excited.
She is scared to meet Katara at first, because she learns a little about what Katara did in the war. What and who she lost. She feels bad that she wasn’t there. Thuy doesn’t know how to start a conversation with her, which is bad because Thuy not so secretly wants to replace Kuruk with Katara as her Water Tribe connection. She doesn’t want to go to Arnook, who lost his daughter, or Hakoda, who lost his wife, and Sokka is in the same category as Katara, obviously.
Suki finds her freaking out. And remember, Thuy is a close friend of Kyoshi. They talk and Suki relaxes Thuy by putting the Avatar in Kyoshi robes. Sokka finds them with Thuy thoroughly disguised and, I might actually write this scene so you’ll have to wait.
Thuy likes Azula at first because she is oddly fascinated by the performative femininity of the Fire Nation. Azula is powerful, confident, and very feminine, and that intrigues Thuy. But Azula is Azula and has very little interest in some backwater peasant, even if she is the Avatar.
Toph embraces everything about the Swamp Tribe, as does Rohan, so they are the ones Thuy is the closest to. Toph, as a more destructive Gyatso, figures out how to rig a pressurized device that launches mud projectiles and the two of them wreck havoc at fancy Beifong dinner parties. Rohan takes the technology up a notch and they all terrorize the Air Temples. Doesn’t have the same impact, because they all survived Aang. Toph teaches Thuy to take no shit and give no fucks.
Thuy is insecure about her inability to communicate with the Spirits. Having grown up in the swamp, she could see them and heard how other people ran into them. Especially the refugees that were allowed in. The Spirits seemed to guide certain people to Thuy, which meant they didn’t hate her, but they never seemed to engage. The only thing she could think of was Wan and blamed him unfairly for a long time.
Thuy does a traditional education as the Avatar. She works for a few years with Toph, having a basis in earthbending already from Aang. Crystalbending is her special talent and Toph dismisses it as playing with jewelry (but never discourages her pupil ofc).
Jinora is Thuy’s airbending teacher and spiritual advisor. She is very good about calming Thuy when she continues to have this disconnect with the Spirits, but is unable to help her overcome it.
Tenzin deems Rohan too irresponsible but allows them to ferry Thuy around so they still teach the Avatar new things. Plus, in this world, there’s a secular sect of Airbending that Bumi - Aang’s son and an Airbender since apparently all Air Nomads are Benders?? - started during the war. They have a very loose relationship with the Air Nomad commitment to non-violence and can live in permanent residences. They are required to do their initial training at the temples, but many go back to their homes, don’t shave their heads, don’t live a monastic life, etc. Rohan goes back and forth about their place, but ultimately takes over as the head of the secular branch. It appeals to Thuy more and they take their role very seriously because of the responsibility.
Zuko teaches Thuy firebending. His adaptations to include other styles makes it easier for Thuy to pick up, though she still learns the basics at the Royal Academy for Girls (where she meets Suzu and Zula).
Katara is Thuy’s “master.” She helps Thuy navigate the political world and they work together on the Water Tribe restoration and re-unification plans. Katara oversees the training schedules, the visitations, the summits, the tributes, and every other bit of minutiae. She also gives Thuy a break and they hang out doing Waterbender stuff.
Sokka and Suki teach Thuy non-bending martial arts. Thuy can kick your ass in a multitude of ways basically.
Thuy gets her Avatar Companions at very different stages. You’d think they wouldn’t get along, but Thuy has collected them and they like her, so they make it work.
Suzu and Zula (those are their names, not nicknames) are twins. They are Firebenders and are not related to the royal family at all. They grew up near the palace, went to the Royal Academy for Girls, and were sent to the palace to keep Thuy company and it was supposed to be very formal and politically advantageous for their parents. Except they actually became friends with Thuy and escaped the Fire Nation to go on adventures, which their parents did not like.
Suzu is a blend of Azula and Ty Lee in my mind. She is named in honor of Fire Lord Sozin. (Her family is SUPER into Fire Nation superiority) She is cheerful and enjoys playing around. She and Thuy get overly excited about things together instead of being “mature” and “above such things” as many noble girls tell them repeatedly. Her “Azula” traits come out when someone insults her family or Thuy. She ends up learning chi blocking from Ty Lee. Suzu is not to be left unsupervised.
Zula is a blend of Azula and Mai. She is “the eldest” and does everything her parents tell her to do, even if she hates it. She is named in honor of Fire Lord Azulon (and I guess Azula?). She ends up becoming an instructor at the Royal Academy for Girls until Thuy whisks her away to go adventuring. Zula hates the rigid society among the nobles and very happily dashes off. Can’t say no to the Avatar right??? Her firebending skill is in marksmanship. She can and will singe the sleeve of some snotty little noble from across the room if they irk her. She learns to bend lightning from Iroh and even Thuy is a little scared.
When Thuy moved from her earthbending lessons and onto air, Toph opened up her metalbending academy to have something to do between professional bending competitions. Jae-hwan was a late addition because he couldn’t afford the fees. Then he found out that the fees were arbitrary because Toph is a Beifong and she gave him a room to stay in. Thuy met him when she visited her Sifu and he, not knowing she was the Avatar, stole her purse as a joke. When he did find out, instead of freaking out, started to make fun of her because some lowly Earthbender orphan was able to steal the Avatar’s wallet. He never lets her forget that or any other embarrassing thing he witnesses.
Tashi is very quiet. He surprised everyone by choosing to join Urban Dust, the secular branch of the Air Nomads, instead of continuing on at the temples. People thought he would become a great sage and possibly live old enough to see the next Air Nomad Avatar. But Tashi is a true child of the sky and would live on his Sky Bison Dawa if he could. He does not like being on the ground for long and frequently disappears to go flying. Tashi specifically asked that Rohan be his mentor, again shocking everyone, but Rohan understood. Getting older, Rohan calms down and becomes very philosophical. Tashi finds them to be very wise and they contemplate the nature of things together. Thuy appreciates the one friend of hers that would never end up in jail with her. Tashi brings the bail money. Tashi also hides the body. Tashi can keep secrets.
Aktuk was born and raised in the North Pole. His father is a waterbending master and his mother is a waterbending healer. His older sister is a waterbending prodigy. He lost his leg during his ice dodging ceremony when the boat crashed. As a non-Bender, he had almost drowned and has a fear of the open sea. He makes his own prosthesis and is very into mechanics. When Thuy attended a festival in the North Pole, they had collided because Aktuk was carrying a bunch of parts and material for a project and didn’t see her. Freaking out, Aktuk tried to scurry away as quickly as possible but Thuy kept asking him questions. When she asked how he kept his leg from freezing, Aktuk immediately started to infodump and forgot about being scared. Thuy had to drag him around for awhile, because Aktuk had been basically taught to defer to Benders, but they refused to let him. Suzu and Zula hated the reminder of Fire Nation propriety, Tashi accepted everyone, and Jae-hwan only cared if people were paying attention to him. Thuy and Aktuk date for awhile, but part amicably after they grow into different people.
Thuy saves the world and I steal Korra’s ending for her own. She balances the Spirit World and the Physical World, opening up the portals. She brings back DRAGONS.
Zuko and Katara ultimately retire. Their daughter Izumi becomes Fire Lord. Sokka and Suki’s daughter Kya surprises everyone when they find out she’s a Waterbender and sits on the Water Tribe triumvirate as the chief of the South Pole. Kya and Izumi, having been born on the same day, terrify the rest of the world with their closeness. They consider themselves more like sisters than cousins and have to be repeatedly talked back from their plans to rule the world. They aren’t killing machines, more that they think they know what’s best and only listen to each other. Sometimes Lu Ten. But ALWAYS Suzu.
Rohan becomes the head sage of the Urban Dust and creates a flying society that freaks everyone out for awhile. Tashi goes to the Spirit World for a long time and comes back, a little weird. IDK, I have stuff to explore with him. It’s not bad, just very different.
Suzu marries a nice, minor Fire Nation lord and settles down to teach firebending in his rural home. She adores the royal children and they adore her. When Suzu shows up at either the Fire Nation palace or the South Pole, other people know it’s because either Izumi or Kya were planning something.
Zula never leaves Thuy and they travel together forever. Are they together? IDK, it might just be my attempt to fix (what I think is wrong with) k*rr*sami tbh.
Toph DOES end up going to the Swamp, but her family knows about it and visits her often. Toph does not become a cop ffs, she becomes Willy Wonka but without the candy and slave labor. Lin tries to head the Beifong family after her mother just leaves one day, but she is much more suited to being a metalbending instructor. Once Suyin settles down, she gently pries the Beifong stuff from her sister’s terrified hands and does a really good job at managing Gaoling. They both studied under the Avatar for a little bit, and their rivalry came about with Suyin getting along better with Thuy.
Sokka, pulling an Iroh, never leaves his flower shop. People ask him if he’s THE Sokka, brother of the Queen of the Water Tribes, brother-in-law to the Fire Lord, friend of the Avatar, then the father of the South Pole chief and he always goes “No, I just look like him and we have the same name.”
He often says this while Zuko is sitting with him behind the counter, drinking tea.
Aktuk helps rebuild the South Pole and the Water Tribe navy is reborn. The Earth Kingdom is shook. Toph introduces him to another Swamp Tribe member and he marries her. He loves the Swamp. The Swamp Tribe gains a lot more replacement limbs that were lost to catgators.
Jae-hwan has a hard time letting go of the metalbending academy. He basically grew up there, and spent every free moment there if he wasn’t travelling with Thuy. When Toph has kids, he realizes he had thought of her as his mom and freaks out. She assures him that it’ll be okay. Before she runs off to the Swamp, she legally adopts him, making him a Beifong. He opens more metalbending academies but runs the one in Gaoling because of familial pride. He encourages Lin to take up pro-bending, and becomes a coach when the mixed bending circuit opens. Rohan is OBSESSED with mixed bending matches.
Ultimately, Thuy gets to relax in a way Avatars had been unable to for many cycles. The Water Tribe navy keeps the coastal city-kingdoms in the Earth Kingdom in check, while also reinforcing the United Republic. With the Swamp Tribe literally in the Earth Kingdom, the city-kingdoms become more firmly established and the Earth King becomes the Earth Emperor, but has to manage all of the city-kingdoms and it’s just a lot you guys he is so tired. The Fire Nation goes through an artistic renaissance under Zuko’s rule and the former colonies turn into industrial powerhouses. They are an economic force unto themselves and protect the Fire Nation from Earth Kingdom advances.
With the world in relative harmony, Thuy travels often, since her friends and family have settled all over the world. Mister Whiskers grows to ENORMOUS size and they put him in a wagon when they go around. He does not eat people (anymore) but the wagon still warns others not to get too close.
Zula is always there, with her RBF and scary fast bending. Thuy is still prone to gleeful outbursts and Zula smiles lovingly. They like to read together and will fall asleep resting on Mister Whiskers as they all bask in the same sunny spot.
Aw crap, they are together.

Any chance you have a list of Naruto episodes that mainly focus on Sasuke? I kinda want to rewatch, but only remember the arc with Sasuke vs 5 kage/Dei/Ita/Danzo.
Not right on hand, no, but I can comb through and let you know which parts I tend to watch when I miss him! You only listed eps from Shippuden but I’ll include original series anyway ^^ I organized this by arc; beginning part has my commentary and then just a list after. I bolded the ones I actually do rewatch a ton.
This got really long so here’s a tl;dr for the parts I recall/can be bothered to find and the rest is under the cut.
ORIGINAL SERIES: 3-5, 6-8, 10-15, 16, 19, 22, 24, 28-30, 33, 39, 66-68, 75-76, 81-85, 101, 107-110, 128-135.
NARUTO SHIPPUDEN: 1, 51-53, 113-114, 115-118, 121-126, 135-beginning of 139, 140-141, 143-144, 152, 202-203, 204, 208-211, 212-216, 220, 331, 333, 334-335, 337-339, 341, 366, 370, 373, 474-479.
ORIGINAL SERIES
Prologue - Land of Waves
There’s pretty decent focus on him for the first part basically up until he passes out in the Forest of Death. Episodes I like to rewatch a lot for Sasuke specifically are 3-5, and 16, which is where Sasuke sacrifices himself protecting Naruto (I usually prefer to read the Zabuza arc bc I feel like the battles drag out too long in the anime). A more comprehensive list would probably be like… 3-7 (one of Sasuke’s first battles with the Demon Brothers is there), I really don’t like watching Zabuza’s battle with Kakashi in the anime but episode 8 has Naruto and Sasuke tag-teaming to help free him, episode 11 and maybe (?) 10 have Sasuke and Naruto eating a lot and training and etc., and then 12-16 cover Sasuke fighting Haku and Naruto eventually showing up to help. Sasuke wakes up and they ask Kakashi some insightful questions in 19.
3-5, 6-8, 10-15, 16, 19
Chuunin Exams & Konoha Crush
I don’t really rewatch this one a ton but episode 22 is the Rock Lee Beats Sasuke’s Ass ep, 24 is the Sasuke Figures Out You’re Supposed to Cheat on the Chuunin Exams Test ep which I enjoy personally but also don’t really watch a lot, 28-30 for the Sasuke vs Orochimaru stuff in the Forest of Death, 33 for Sasuke going sicko mode on the Sound ninja, 39 for Sasuke using Lee’s jutsu to beat that one guy’s ass in the prelims, 66-68 is Sasuke vs Gaara but I don’t rewatch this a lot and prefer reading it in the manga bc the anime drags it out way too much imo, I actually don’t rewatch their confrontation in the forest much either but I think (???) it’s eps 75 & 76.
22, 24, 28-30, 33, 39, 66-68, 75-76
Search for Tsunade
I watch 81-85 a lot. That’s where Itachi returns to the Village and we get our first real bit of insight into Sasuke’s past– this is usually one of the first things I’ll rewatch when I’m missing Sasuke. He’s in a coma for the rest of the arc, though. I also watch 101 which is the Kakashi’s mask filler ep and doesn’t really focus on Sasuke particularly but it’s fun watching him freak out.
81-85, 101
Sasuke Recovery Mission
107-110 cover Naruto and Sasuke’s rooftop fight and Sasuke making up his mind to leave the Village. A lot of things about this piss me off a lot lol so I actually don’t rewatch a lot. 128-135 is Sasuke and Naruto’s battle at the Valley of the End. There’s a lot of Uchiha lore embedded here and I like his fight with Naruto so I rewatch this battle a lot.
107-110, 128-135
I don’t watch any of the filler after this.
So to summarize, the Sasuke parts of original series that I can recall are: 3-5, 6-8, 10-15, 16, 19, 22, 24, 28-30, 33, 39, 66-68, 75-76, 81-85, 101, 107-110, 128-135.
NARUTO SHIPPUDEN
Kazekage Rescue Mission
The first episode teases Sasuke’s later return and is also just generally nostalgic if you’re into that. I also just like the opening for this arc lol.
1
Tenchi Bridge Reconnaissance Mission
Sasuke’s first appearance in part two and his reunion with Naruto are episodes 51-53. I don’t rewatch these a lot mainly just because I rewatched them all the time when I was 14 and got bored of it.
51-53
Itachi’s Pursuit Mission/Master’s Prophecy and Vengeance
Finally good stuff. Episodes 113-114 cover Sasuke killing Orochimaru– I prefer reading this in the manga to watching it so I don’t actually rewatch it a lot. In 115 Sasuke picks up Suigetsu and the episode is a bunch of filler stuff that wasn’t in the manga but it’s fun so I rewatch that one a lot. 116-118 are where he picks up Karin and Juugo and forms Taka which is *chef kiss* golden content. 121-122 are Taka looking for Itachi… I find this stuff kinda boring so I don’t rewatch it so much unless I’m in a particular mood. 123-126 cover Sasuke’s battle with Deidara, which is awesome, but I prefer reading it in the manga, and Taka taking care of him, which is very cute… 135-138 and the beginning of 139 are Sasuke’s battle against Itachi, which is also golden content that I rewatch a lot (though admittedly I tend to just type “Sasuke vs Itachi” into YouTube and watch it there than actually watch the episodes for some reason). 140-141 are Sasuke finding out the truth about the Uchiha clan– I think along with episodes 81-84 in the original series and Sasuke vs Danzou these are the episodes I rewatch the absolute most. 143-144 are Sasuke and Taka joining the Akatsuki– 144 specifically is the Taka vs Killer Bee fight which I watch a lot.
113-114, 115-118, 121-126, 135-beginning of 139, 140-141, 143-144
Pein’s Assault/The Two Saviours
If I recall correctly, episode 152 is where Sasuke speechifies at Tobi and tells him he doesn’t care if people see him as childish, he wants to destroy the Leaf, blah blah. This speech is real good but I tend to read it in the manga– I’ll bold it anyway though because I read it a ton.
152
Five Kage Summit/The Assembly of the Five Kage
You mentioned this one in the original ask but since we’ve come this far anyway I’ll say the parts I like. I love this arc, it’s definitely one of my favourites in the entire series. I think 202 is where Sasuke fights all the Samurai, 203 is where Sasuke meets Gaara again and they fight (lmfao I opened the episode on Crunchyroll to check that I’m thinking of the right one and look where I stopped last time)
Tumblr media
Maybe I like SasuGaa? Anyway, in 204 Sasuke ditches Taka to go after Danzou, then Danzou vs Sasuke and Sasuke’s betrayal of Karin is 208-211, which I mentioned above is among the like, top three things I watch the most when I’m missing Sasuke, along with Itachi vs Sasuke in both original series and Shippuden. 212-216 are Team Seven finding Sasuke again and Sakura trying to kill him and Naruto and Sasuke talking to each other in their heads and blah blah… the only part of this I tend to watch a lot is Sasuke’s interaction with Kakashi because I find this part really annoying. In 220 Sasuke gets eye surgery.
202-203, 204, 208-211, 212-216, 220
Fourth Shinobi World War: Climax/The Great Ninja War - Sasuke and Itachi
Crunchyroll’s not super great about breaking the next parts into seasons and I’m lazy so I’m basically just gonna talk about the rest of the war arc. I know it’s a million parts long but I just think of it all as “The War Arc” anyway.
Sasuke’s out cold recovering from surgery from most of the beginning of the War arc and doesn’t wake up til 331 (there’s also good Taka content in this ep– Suigetsu and Juugo looking for Sasuke, and Karin breaking out of jail). He catches up with Itachi in 333 - I rewatch this one a lot but I’m more likely to reread it. 334-335 is Sasuke and Itachi vs Kabuto, and 336 is too but it’s more Kabuto-focused. Focus comes back to Sasuke and Itachi for 337-339– and 339 is where Itachi says the “I will love you forever” line. I rewatch that episode a ton. In 341, he meets up again with Suigetsu and Juugo and brings back Orochimaru– I tend to reread this a lot in the manga but not watch it. 366-370 are when he gets Orochimaru to bring back the Hokage, but most of it is Hashirama talking, so the Sasuke-focused ones are 366 & 370 (I tend to rewatch this entire part a lot though because I love the Hashirama & Madara stuff). In 373 he joins back up with Team Seven and says he wants to be Hokage and blah blah blah. I think that’s basically the last episode of the anime I actually bother watching sometimes. I thought about combing for the Team Seven stuff where they’re fighting aliens and the prophecy and whatnot, but everything is really fucking scattered after this part and I tend to just skip around for Sasuke content in the manga because I can’t deal with the anime, especially because this is around where the anime famously released a new episode weekly for a year and only eight of those episodes weren’t filler. The Naruto vs Sasuke stuff is 474-479 and a whole metric ton of it is filler that makes me sick to my stomach so I never watch it, but I figured I’d mention it anyway.
331, 333, 334-335, 337-339, 341, 366, 370, 373, ?????????, 474-479
So to summarize, the Sasuke parts of original series that I can recall/bother looking for are: 1, 51-53, 113-114, 115-118, 121-126, 135-beginning of 139, 140-141, 143-144, 152, 202-203, 204, 208-211, 212-216, 220, 331, 333, 334-335, 337-339, 341, 366, 370, 373, 474-479 (which you couldn’t pay me to rewatch).
I love recapping so, tl;dr:
ORIGINAL SERIES: 3-5, 6-8, 10-15, 16, 19, 22, 24, 28-30, 33, 39, 66-68, 75-76, 81-85, 101, 107-110, 128-135.
SHIPPUDEN: 1, 51-53, 113-114, 115-118, 121-126, 135-beginning of 139, 140-141, 143-144, 152, 202-203, 204, 208-211, 212-216, 220, 331, 333, 334-335, 337-339, 341, 366, 370, 373, 474-479.
Happy watching!
