Today we celebrate the Great Martyr James of Persia the Sawn-Asunder. Saint James was born into a wealthy, yet pious Christian family. He married a Christian wife and raised their children in piety. James occupied a high position of the Persian court and was dearly loved by the Emperor Izdegerd. On a particular military campaign, James was seduced away from his Christian faith out of fear, and offered a sacrifice to the idols with the emperor and his court. Having found out that James had denied his faith, his mother and wife wrote him a lengthy, heart-felt letter reprimanding him of his shameless deed and threatened that if he did not reacknowledge his faith, they would refuse to see him any longer. Realising the gravity of his sin, James repented of his impiety and began weeping loudly, begging the Lord for forgiveness. Hearing his prayers to the Christian God, some Persian officials denounced James to the emperor, who interrogated the martyr. Saint James bravely confessed his love for Christ and said that there was nothing that could deter him, even a thousand torturous deaths. Enraged, the once friendly emperor condemned the martyr to a gruesome death. The torturers commenced their deed by cutting off each of Saint James’ fingers individually, beginning from the thumb to the fifth finger. After this, they continued with his toes, then his wrists, ankles, elbows, knees, shoulders, and finally his thighs, until he was left a stump, crying out to the Lord in prayer of thanksgiving. Finally, the glorious martyr was beheaded and pious Christians collected his holy relics and reverently buried them. the difference between how i treat my ocs can be seen in what kind of AUs they end up in
PersiAnk gets cute AUs where they grow up together, solve magical mysteries together, live in odd domestic lives together with their bigass dog/hydra/dragon Oolong, where they travel the world solving problems between their sheer competence and ardent kindness.Or AUs where they are literally concepts of physics or fundamental parts of the universe.
many of Xing’s incarnations die in caves, in the vacuum of space. Even in the lifetimes where there are people to love them they rarely stay all the way to the end, their wandering heart is often the death of them.

Naqsh-e Rustam majestic tombs of Persian Kings
Naqsh-e Rustam majestic tombs of Persian Kings
It was time to bid farewell to Persepolis and head to Naqsh-e Rustam. At Persepolis we had had a glimpse of how life was conducted under the great Achaemenid Empire (500 – 330 BCE). Now it was time to visit the majestic tombs and last resting place of its kings.
All day, there had been threats of a storm around the ancient city. Now that we were driving away, a strong wind was rising. Soon a…

From actress, singer, dancer, radio personality and author of the “Shattered Peacock” Lisa Di Vita ((@lisa.di.vita)) (aka Lisa Bowman): “The Persians are a proud people, with an ancient, richly artistic history. I find them fascinating. What happened to their country in 1979 changed the course of history and affects the world now as much as it did then. . I saw a remarkable (documentary) film (A Dying King ((@adyingking)) by Bobak Kalhor ((@bobakkalhor)) ) the other day and learned so many new things about Shah Pahlavi's demise. . I invite you to read my thoughts now ( type: bit.ly/DiVita ) you'll have to wait a little while for cable showings or the DVD - but I've shared some of the documentary's information in my blog to give you a head start. #adyingking #moviereview #lisadivita #lisabowman #shahofiran #theshah #documentaryfilm #iranianrevolution #malpractice #cancer #iran #persianking #pahlavi #shatteredpeapock @roxanneganji @catdaravi @fparvaneh @siamakk2 @denisopalchenski @shahinshafaei @bamadad07 @theprennergroup @vision.films @nadia.davari @herniadoc @tham3nace (at Los Angeles, California)

annoyances with each other: persi is perfectly coherent the moment he wakes up, he's already on so he goes about doing things and getting opinions and asking and all that. Ank needs time to wake up, if the sun isnt shining on them it's not time to wake up. Theyre grumbly and dont speak and are very scary. "Persi I love you but i need you to stop speaking to me so early in the morning." later. "more like, stop expecting me to answer with any finesse"
Their compromise is persi uses more body language, touches and at most asks for mono-syllabic answers. He kisses them every time he asks something like a little sorry, maybe a little thank you for answering him.
He lets them cling to him as they wake up. it's a good compromise
