What Pokemon would your OCs have?

Ooh this one’s fun!

Persephone would go nuts if Pokémon were real, she’d absolutely love it. She’d catch whatever Pokémon she could find and love them to death. Specifically though I can see her with a Houndoom. Maybe a Gyrados too? Can’t decide whether she’d have a shiny one or not

Angelus would have a Ribombee, I think. I can just see that for some reason. Maybe also a Dragonair? A Gallade? A shiny Midday Lycanroc? One of those as well I think. Probably would only use one or two Pokémon at most as Angelus, but would have more outside of that

Lazulai would probably have a Vaporeon. I can also very clearly imagine her lovingly carrying a Feebas around pulling a Cassie Lang; “He’s so ugly! I love him!”. Like she’d never actually say that, but I can just hear it from her so clearly over a Feebas for some reason

Connor would probably limit himself to fire types or other Pokémon who could withstand it if he was to have an episode. I can just picture him with a Fuecoco he nicknamed Butterpat or something that helps him out in the carpentry. You know he’s gonna give them all nicknames. I can also see him fussing over a Vulpix a whole bunch and then panicking when it still tries to leap into his arms as a giant ass Ninetales. Oh, and also a male Pyroar named Flare, guaranteed

Kennedy would have a Corviknight, 100%. Maybe a Liepard too? And for some reason I see her with a Trevenant? Idk, she’s hard to pick for outside of Corviknight. She feels more like the kind of person who looks after Pokémon when they need it and then sends them back into the wild

So this is Atticus. He's a feline shapeshifter and fire mage.

Backstory

He was born in France to happily married parents, Angela and Alex.

He was excited to gain a little sister and very confused when his maman didn't seem to like her as much (Angela had severe postpartum depression for reasons that I won't go into on Atticus' bio).

Moving to the US was exciting. He'd heard stories about New York and his great-grandfather from Alex, but getting to see it for himself was a new level of excitement. (The fact that it only happened because his parents were struggling was something he was oblivious to.)

Shortly after moving in, Atticus decided to do the thing he'd been expressly forbid from doing (playing with his fire magic) and ended up burning Alex's arms pretty severely. To this day, he still can't look at the scars without feeling guilty no matter how much Alex has tried to assure him it's fine and was just an accident.

Since Alex was forced to work in the US (he'd largely been a stay at home father in France but now they needed two incomes), he would often bring the children (Atticus and little sister Arianna) to work with him. It was there that he met the first of his future queerplatonic partners, Yashira.

(She was there due to being mute following the death of her parents and Atticus was the first person to really get her talking after their deaths).

I feel I should mention Alex is a psychiatrist before this gets misinterpreted.

Anyway, the two became fast friends and soon Alex was forced to encourage them to seek a different psychiatrist because he'd come to see Yashira as a second daughter.

(He still saw her unofficially but legally they were in a blurry zone that he didn't feel comfortable wtih)

Zane, the second queerplatonic partner, entered a few years later when their mum sent them to Mystic to learn how to control their magic.

He was twelve when he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and boy did he struggle with it. He stressed his poor parents to the extent that all four children (Atticus, Arianna, Yashira, and Zane) were convinced the adults were going to get divorced because "that's what happens when children get sick like this".

(Zane's parents being divorced were the only reference they had for divorced parents and that was not the best example since their divorce was... a lot more complicated than the children realized.)

At some point around here, Amara (Yashira's adoptive mother) started training the trio (Yashira, Zane, and Atticus) to hunt and fight monsters.

Their first solo hunt was when the trio was 18, and resulted in Zane being scarred. Atticus blames himself for that too since he witnessed it happen, and maybe sort of caused it. It's complicated.

Fun Facts

He hates his magic. He'll likely never admit it, but he wishes he'd inherited Alex's plant magic instead of Angela's fire.

He's polyamorous! Even without the two queerplatonic partners, he doesn't think he'd be happy in a monogamous relationship.

Despite this, he hopes to one day find a love like this parents where they're hopelessly devoted to each other. He just wants more than one of them.

This is why the triad with Zane and Yashira works so well. It's just not romantic in nature... at least not on Yashira's part (she's aro).

He's a chemistry teacher at Mystic Academy, the town's school for magical beings.

He was raised pagan and continues to practice as one to this day. He, like Alex, is particularly fond of Persephone.

He loves pokemon and has played every pokemon game there is to some degree. His favorite type is probably fire and he loves the original Ninetales.

He's a video game nerd in general tbh. Pokemon is just his favorite.

He's worn feminine clothes before as an experiment. Ultimately decided he was definitely a boy though, and the clothes were donated to a Mystic charity for people who've had to leave everything behind to run to the safe haven.

He did theater in high school. He tried band as well, but decided it wasn't for him after a few weeks and switched to choir for the remainder of the year.

He knows a fun fact for just about everything. Between Alex (an avid reader and Jeopardy enjoyer), his own love of reading, and being a liberal arts major for two years before switching to teaching, he knows a little about most things.

Hey hi hello I'm probably gonna do a lil series of posts talking about what my gym teams would be.

Keep in mind; I'm doing a 6 team all fully fleshed out kind of thing. Think in terms of like hey if I was doing rematches or had official league business or if the gyms ever came like that which would be Dope tbh. And also because my boyfriend and some of our friends are making them so we can battle each other.

The first one I'm gonna talk about is what I would most naturally have and what I consider my official gym team for what I have planned.

For am I the Fairy Queen of my group.

My gym would be Witch themed and look like a very fanciful witches hut in a forrest in springtime, probably at night though. It would also host some cool Fairy type lore scattered around and the gym contestants would have to fight various trainers to collect ingredients for a good luck potion of some kind!

It also would be a version exclusive in the game with its counter part being an ice gym run by my bestie @icychill. Our Ninetales are girlfriends btw.

My team, as shown in its full capacity, would be Alolan Ninetales, Hatterene, Mimikyu, Florges and Sylveon and a Fairy Tera Type Absol for my aces. Trainers would probably fight me as a four pokemon gym later in the game with using Sylveon, Absol, Mimikyu and Hatterene.

Yall are very luck I didn't put Jareth my Galarian Rapidash on here he is mean he bites people, he causes problems on purpose and he's absolutely terrifying battle wise I am actually proud. Actually scratch that Jareth is the gate keeper he decides if you should get to challenge me or not.

Now for movesets and details

Reina the Alolan Ninetales (F)

Movepool: Aurora Veil, Ice Beam, Dazzling Gleam and Grudge.

Shy but protective. Has a hoard of wooden spoons hiding in her area to mix potions or steam pots with. Eats poffins like it's the end of the world.

Persephone the Florges (F)

Movepool: Petal Dance, Misty Terrain, Moonblast and Draining Kiss.

Gathers the best ingredients and is a picky eater. Just wants to chill and be admired. Really good with the younger trainers that comes in!!

Amaranth the Hatterene (F)

Movepool: Psychic, Shadow Ball, Dazzling Gleam and Life Dew.

Mean but not as mean as Jareth. Has a witch's cackle and just wants to be left alone to sleep and watch soap operas.

Stitches the Mimikyu (M)

Movepool: Hone Claws, Play Rough, Will-O-Wisp and Shadow Claw.

God of chaos and arson. But plays innocent and looks like a babey. Is only calmed with cuddles.

Mavis the Sylveon (M)

Movepool: Return, Moonblast, Hyper Voice and Hyper Beam.

Specifically a Pixelate Sylveon get rekt.

The actual baby of the family. Spoiled rotten. Just wants to be petted and given fancy snacks and can usually be found buried under 50 blankets. Loves contests.

Angel the Absol (F)

Movepool: Swords Dance, Night Slash, Play Rough and Air Slash.

The tired mom of the group. Constantly carting everyone out to actually participate in gym battles. Namely Mavis, and those two are inseparable. Guardian of the city the gym is located in and helps those that get lost.

Persephone@Urami: Your thumb... did you lose it in a fight? You look like a really strong guy who spars a lot. Or was just an accident?

Darting his eyes back and forth making sure neither Haines or Chung were around, Urami pulled out a flask from a compartment he kept in his suit. While he may be under both of their payroll, this did not stop him from sneaking in some alcohol here or there. Given the recent events for both bosses, the amphibian was stunned they were not drinking.

Your thumb…

The moment Urami started to hear that he jolted to attention, quickly closed the flask and hid the flask as best as he could. Once he looked to see who had started talking to him, Urami began to relax himself. This ninetale was not someone he saw around the city, nor was she under either of the bosses’ payroll. Still, he could never know with them.

…did you loose it in a fight?

Urami glared at his right hand. Of course it would be about that. The shiny piece of metal serving as both his thumb and a lesson; no good deed goes unpunished. Despite how the fastest way to bring on his rage was talking about how he lost his thumb, it was a story the swampert would tell out of a duty. Double so if it poisons any potential friendships for Grohl.

“As someone who has been fighting pokemon most of his life, I wish. If I had lost it that way I could least come up with a cool story about how I at least fucked up the mon who cut off my thumb,” His expression curled into a scowl. “No. I lost it because I took somemon out of the gutter and they repaid me by getting upset because I had to break him in.”

For this story Urami was going to need to give context, which he was more than willing to give. Pulling out his phone, he flipped to a picture of Grohl that he snapped on his phone at some point when the tangrowth was minding his own business in the city.

“I took in this Tangrowth here when his old trainer released him into the wild. The guy had no direction and my old team needed a grass type. So I figured why not, after all we could also use him as a jobber or errand boy at worst.”

This brought back memories on how Grohl was when the two worked together, which also had the side effect brought back up old annoyances and points of outrage.

“He was more work than he was worth. Not only did we lose a lot of money from robberies because of this round foot, but he also had this annoying timid streak that drains the life out of the room and makes him insufferable to talk with. Anytime the crew and I hung out with women he would always make things super awkward or come off as creepy towards them.” Despite how annoyed he sounded, a small chuckle did slip from his lips, as an incredibly sick burn one of the women gave Grohl. If anything he was good as a joke.

“So he gets it in his head to jump me while I was sitting down in my office, grabbed my hand and snapped my thumb clean off using his creepy vine shit. After that he ran like a pussy and I lost my whole crew because he chose to leave everyone with a parting gift!”

Grohl. No matter how he came up, that giant pile of vines was constantly a fresh source of anger. The swampert could not wait to get his hands on him. Once he did, he knew exactly how that grass type was going to die. The idea of how prattled on in his head.

To start with, he was going to freeze his legs solid and break his whole torso off from there. Next he was going to ram ice spears through his arms, severing them from his body. Finally he would stab him through his torso with the sharpest, thickest, coldest ice spear he could make and just sit back and watch him squirm.

As he thought on how he would kill and torture his nemesis, Urami gave what looked like a calm smile that did not meet his eyes, which were frenzied. Realizing how he was coming off due to both his expression and his lack of saying anything, the swampert recomposed himself to put on a calm front for the ninetales.

“If you take anything from this, stay away from that mon. He is an aggressive little creep who puts up a wounded sawsbuck routine to get sympathy and then will use it to ruin you. Make sure you warn others about a tangrowth named Grohl.”

A bit bored here, so I’m gonna talk about Hauyne’s main team. 

Technically speaking, Hauyne/Artemis has two main teams. One was her original team from before Storm-9, and the other her current team she uses in her journey. 

I’ll start with her old team, in the order: nickname, species, gender (if applicable), ability (if the species has more than one) and additional remarks.

Kali (Zeraora, female, starter and ace Pokemon)

Persephone (Primarina, female, Torrent ability)

Fenrir (Dusk-Lycanroc, male)

Sakuya (Roserade, female, Natural Cure ability)

Bahamut (Dragonite, male, Multiscale ability)

Khepri (Vikavolt, male)

Out of the old team, Kali is the only one who survived Storm-9. The rest perished by Artemis’s side on that cliff.

Now for Hauyne’s current team. In the same order as above.

Kali (Zeraora, female, ace Pokemon)

For the current team, each member has a unique custom move of their own. 

Kali - Superbolide. A physical Electric-type move with 95 base power and 100 accuracy. When used successfully, the user’s speed is boosted. The higher the user’s speed is, the stronger the move’s potency (caps at 150). 

Altissia - Purgatory. A special fire-type AOE move with a base power of 200 and never misses. It has a 60% chance of inflicting the Burned status on the target(s). The move is always executed last, and fails if the user takes damage (status effects included) before it can unleash the move. However, if successful, it transforms most fields into the Infernal Field for 8 turns. If it is used in the New World field, it gains a Dark sub-type and receives a x1.5 power boost instead. 

Muninn - Nascent Star. A physical Flying-type move with 120 base power and 100 accuracy. If the move lands, all of the target's stats decreases by 1 stage. However, if the attack lands a critical hit, the target's stats are lowered by 2 stages instead, and the user's lowered stats are reset. 

Shiva - Diamond Dust. A special Ice-type move with 100 base power and 90 accuracy. The attack usually goes first, and never misses in Hail. If the target is lower-levelled than the user, getting hit by the attack will result in a OHKO. Otherwise, the target would be trapped in a blizzard which damages non Ice-type targets over time. The blizzard also prevents the target from escaping.

Triton - Riptide. A physical Water-type move with 120 base power and 100 accuracy. If the user suffers from a status condition, the move’s power is boosted by x1.5 and gains a Dark sub-type. 

Vedrfolnir - Rhongomyniad. A physical Grass/Dragon (varies on the target) move with 95 base power and 100 accuracy. This attack usually goes first. If the user successfully damages the target with this move, the user recovers HP equal to the damage inflicted. It is also able to bypass Protect, Mat Block, Spiky Shield, Quick Guard and King's Shield. The typing of the attack depends on the target's own typing and abilities. The move fails when used on an Azumarill with the Sap Sipper ability.

LO Characters as Pokemon Trainers: Godesses

No Artemis for reasons. These are goddesses of LO as Pokemon trainers based on LO and the Greek mythology. So let's begin.

Heccate

The Goth queen of LO, Hecate has a magicbased team. Heccate's ace is ancient Delphix named Baba Yaga. As cunning as her trainer, Baba Yaga is not one to be triffled with. Her Hatterene, Morgana, shares her hattred of noise. Morgana and Baba Yaga sometimes throws sticks for Hades dog pokemon for fun, despite the doggos noisy natures. Her Alolan Ninetales, Mystic is often seen playing with Hades's Houndoom, Cerberus. Mismagius helps when dealing with dead employed at Underworld Corps. Her Mimikyu, Nightmare loves to scare people, but never scares Persephone. As she is the only one other than Hecate who shows him any affection. How or why she has a Hoopa named Chaos, should be obvious. They both love chaos. Chaos and Nightmare are BFFs, much to the employees of Underworld Corps horror. Persephone is just happy that Nightmare finally has a friend. Hecate also has Zoarark named Shadow, but no ever knows where it is. Thus it is not on her team. Although the Furies suspect Hecate uses on days she wants to sleep in. Bewarned messing with Hecate, Persephone, Hades or their pokemon will lead to all of Hecate's pokemon to wanting vengence. The results are brutal just ask Minthe and Thetis.

Hestia

Hestia despite never battling, still has a pokemon team. Although she considered beloved by Fire types she does not share their firey nature. Her Rotom, Trouble, lives up to his name. Despite this Trouble loves Hestia alot due to her saving it when she founded terribly injured. He possess a oven which is useful for Hestia, who loves to cook. Tea, Hestia's Polteageist has been her tea time partner for ages. Her Cyndaquil, Muffin is the reason that Cyndaquil are Sacred to Hestia. Muffin is always there to warm up other pokemon, or help roast a marshmellows. Trouble and Tea are very protective of Cyn due to his shy nature. Still don't mess with any of the rest of her team or Muffin will get mad. If Muffin gets mad at you, you better run. Hestia never evolved her Milcery, Milk into Alcremie. Her Mudbray, Sweety is there to bring injured pokemon to its trainer, and Snubull, Hug just acts as a cute cuddle bug.

Athena

Athena as the godess of wisdom and battle stratgy her team reflects that. Her Gallade is not just her ace but was gifted to her as a Ralts by Hera herself. Gallade and Athena are extremely close. Athena's Noctowl, Bubo is extremely small for his size, but is adored by Athena. He is always sitting on her shoulder. Her Lucario, is another one of warrior pokemon. Gallade and Lucario are often seen sparing with each other when Athena is not around.She likes to play chess with her Alakazam and Oranguru, when she not busy. Her Falinks, is there to help figure out army formations. She also has a Sirfetch'd as a companion, it stands as guard over its trainers temple.
