Rook: Become a Warden. Hear the blight. And people assume Crow initiations are intense. Antoine: I assumed they were murderous. Rook: I walked into that. So what's the plan?

What happens in Crow initiations, anyway? I'm sure they are intense and murderous, but I don't think we know anything about what they actually entail. Given the lack of information it's entirely possible the Joining is in fact worse! I also love Percy hearing literally anything about what being a Warden is like and going "And people say we're bad" while talking to Wardens. Percy, that's rude.

Today I can't stop thinking about Viago bringing Percy to the opera. I don't even know if we learn Viago's thoughts on the opera (on the one hand he does like the arts, on the other the opera is loud and full of people), I just love the idea of Viago bringing his emotional support fledgling to the opera to a) encourage a love of the arts in him and b) have someone else to deal with people for him.

Well technically I live in the Fade. And also technically I think House de Riva's official home base is in Salle (based on Teia mentioning Viago going back home to Salle in TN), not Treviso; the Cantori Diamond is House Cantori's base, I'm pretty sure Viago's just crashing there for convenience and to help out with the occupation and because Teia's his girlfriend. But more to the point look at the size of this fucker. I'm pretty sure the Butcher is straight up twice Percy's size and it's making me a little insane.

Here is what you have to understand about Percy. This is very important. The only characters he has any height on are Varric and Harding. And even then:

(I think Harding might be standing on something here but I don't have a good height comparison screenshot for her, forgive me.) Considering they're dwarves that is not much. Percy is a zero on the height scale. This is the shortest elf it is possible to make. You can get real small and I love it.

The Chariot: How does Rook fight? What are their preferred abilities and damage type? Orb and dagger my beloved, Percy basically never uses anything else. Spellblade might actually be my favourite spec in the whole series and his fighting style fell into place accordingly. Blocking who, all this elf knows is dodge and arcane bomb. His preferred damage type is electricity and his preferred abilities are Void Blade, Corrupted Ground, Storm Surge and Thunderous End.

Now did they really have to do this? Did they have to give us a shot of Rook staring down at Varric's corpse? It just seems kind of rude, honestly.

Also maybe it's just me but it goes so hard with Percy. This is the other side of him being so damn small, with Varric on the ground you can't really see that Percy's taller so all you see is the difference in bulk and it makes Percy look so much smaller.

2. A scene from Rook’s year with Varric and Lace: Early into their time together our intrepid trio found themselves having to get at a particularly well-protected Venatori. Varric and Harding were trying to figure out a plan, but Percy didn't bother with any of that; he just disguised himself as one of the Venatori's slaves and walked right in. No one, not even Varric and Harding, realized anything was up until Percy was long gone and someone went in to bring the Venatori breakfast. That was when the screaming started, and Percy just smiled at Varric and Harding and told them that the problem was solved. It was first time Varric and Harding really recognized that they'd acquired one of the finest assassins in Thedas for this little venture and that... maybe changed some things.

16. Which companions does Rook like most? Lucanis and Davrin are definitely at the top (regardless of which one he actually ends up romancing). I'd say them and Bellara, which. I know is almost half the team but Percy's a friendly guy. He initially bonds with Bellara over magic nerd stuff (and in general being a bit excitable and rambly, I love that you can tell her that you ramble too), with Lucanis over their shared experience with the Crows and love for fine coffee, and with Davrin post-Weisshaupt over that feeling that they should've died but didn't (which Percy is... very familiar with).

20. Which faction allies does Rook like best? Do they dislike anyone? Oh Viago and Teia for sure. Teia's been one of his dearest friends for years, and Viago is... well, Viago is a lot of things to him. Some might say everything to him. And I'll leave it at that so I don't yell incoherently about Viago and Percy for a thousand words. Short version, he definitely likes Viago and Teia best by a lot. On the flip side he's not very fond of Tarquin; Percy has history with Templars, and knowing that Tevinter Templars and Antivan Templars aren't the same doesn't make having to work with one any easier.

26. What does Rook tell Emmrich, when he asks them about funerary rite preferences? He tells Emmrich that he's never really thought about it. As an assassin you have to come to terms with death and corpses real fast; part of how Percy did that was learning to see bodies as just meat, and that includes his body. Once he's dead, that's not him anymore. He assumes he'll be burned if his body is recovered, that's how Antiva deals with its dead, but as far as he's concerned what happens to his corpse is someone else's problem.

A random Percy fact: he hated Teia when they first met. He was a kid at the time and Viago was the only Crow he'd really bonded with (and it wasn't a secret that he was Viago's favourite even back then), and he was... very upset at having to share his favourite person's attention. Teia found this... kind of hilarious and kind of adorable, which is probably a good chunk of why she and Percy actually did end up great friends. It's also great for her because she can bring it up whenever and Percy and Viago both get so embarrassed.

19. What is Rook’s love language? What love languages do they respond best to? Physical touch, mostly. For both things, Percy is just... all over physical contact. He's constantly leaning on people, hugging them, putting a hand on their shoulder, anything that lets him get in contact with them, and any level of reciprocation will have him melting. Words of affirmation and acts of service will get him adorably flustered, also.

28. Does Rook have any pets/animal companions? Does Emil count? (...Uh, for people who haven't read Tevinter Nights that's Viago's pet adder.) Percy takes care of him when Viago's busy and he's really very fond of him. Outside of that, I'm thinking that on the first trip back to Dock Town after the dragon incident Percy finds a tiny, scraggly orphaned kitten and ends up bringing it back to the Lighthouse with him. This is a "this kitten is probably going to die, it's too young to be away from its mother" situation but it makes it against the odds, which Percy chooses to take as a sign.
