The Enola Holmes books are SO GOOD they make me wanna stare at the ceiling for an hour.

So it's really rather irksome that the movie - despite sticking reasonably close to the original plot, with only some changes to fit the medium and a handful for vanity - manages to completely fail at adapting it in almost every way.

#'Enola dresses up as a boy' NO. WRONG. SHE SPECIFICALLY DOES NOT #because she knows her brothers will expect her to!#'her mother's bloqing shit up with the suffragettea or whatever' no!!!! She's literally just chilling!#(though admittedly I'm only on book 3 but. I suspect it'll stay that way)#'sherlock is pretty lovely pretty quickly' no he is an ASSHOLE. A loveable AND loving asshole but he needs to be trained out of his #period-appropriate sexism like a horse with a carrot!!!#'enola quickly finds her mum and then also stays friends/potential lovers with tewky' NO.
