it's super quiet and nobody will bother you guys because they know it's that spiky gremlin's room

overall his room just has a really relaxing atmosphere

you love being near him as much as possible

and he's much more affectionate in the comfort of his dorm room

but that doesn't mean he's gonna go easy on u ;-;

he still has his gruff attitude and will make sure you're studying every day

or else he will call u baka and force you to sit down and study until you know all your material

he's actually a great tutor tho

he writes out all the work for each problem and explains them thoroughly

sometimes you can convince him to play a game with you where every time you get an answer right he gives you a kiss

so you plan to hang out together and do something fun every week while having your study material on index cards in your back pockets

it's a literal study date.

a weekly date out to the mall or the park or a little coffee shop but with math trivia thrown in randomly throughout the afternoon!! :D

Of course he was ready to turn it into a game he's a literal puppy

he just wants to show you you can be proud of him

the smell of the crisp, white pages

soft classical music floating through the air

and you are the luckiest student in all of UA because you get to study with the smartest girl in the whole school

Like u started studying together and then all of a sudden you were almost at the top of your class

she's just so sweet that being with her gives you the energy you need to write that essay all in one sitting instead of procrastinating like a normal person

Shows up at your dorm with snacks and drinks to keep your energy up!! :D

even though she's still going to end up getting sleepy anyway later in the afternoon

You get most of your studying done at the beginning of your study date so it's not really a problem

you know she doesn't have a lot of money to be throwing around so you pay for dinner every night

It's usually takeout but sometimes you guys make your own dinner for fun!

it always turns out almost inedible and burned because neither of you were paying attention to the stove

don't let baku see it or he'll start screaming about how you need to try your best at everything so he can beat you fair and square and that includes cooking too

neither you nor uraraka can handle spicey food so you never eat what Bakugou cooks for the class

You grab a few bags of chips and some sushi and shut yourselves in your dorm to pull an all-nighter study session about once a month

it should make you tired but, again, studying with her is so enjoyable that you don't mind

u two enjoy each others company in studying so much that you sometimes read ahead in your textbooks just to be able to study more

overall, hanging out with her is just lighthearted and filled with giggles

and you just so happen to get all your homework done along the way

Okay so I googled it and apparently Season 2 hasn't been confirmed but there is plenty of material from the manga available to make a sequel. If anyone has any other information, I would LOVE for someone to reply to this with that info.

REVIEW TIME!

Toilet-Bound Hanako-Kun is an anime about a ghost named Hanako-Kun, who haunts the school bathroom, being summoned by Nene Yashiro, a girl who dreams of having a boyfriend to love her for who she is. Despite how weird and crackhead-sounding the title and storyline are, the show has an amazing plot and incredible characters. Definitely high up on my list of animes I love. Overall, I have to rate Season 1 a definite 8/10. The show is awesome, but I despise the fact that all the characters keep making fun of Nene's legs as if a woman is supposed to have every single feature of her body be perfect. I feel like it would've made more sense if you had people make fun of her boobs or something rather than her ankles because for her boobs to be kinda underdeveloped in high school would be a definite target for bullying rather than a feature as random as her ankles. I am definitely a Hananene shipper, and possibly a Mitsukou shipper. I still wanna know WHY Hanako killed Tsukasa, and if my s3xu@l @$$ault theory was right or not. I can't wait for Season 2 to come out, and I hope they continue to have the show be the masterpiece it is.

“Newbie”

Ever since I was kid, I struggled almost all the time to introduce myself. I shyed away from any attention and even till now, I still do :p. I remember my class teacher announcing to everyone.

“Girls we have a new student in our class”

and everyone would mutter their ouusss and ahhh’s maybe because they were fascinated and excited to have new member in their classroom, but from my perspective, It was awkward. I felt, and still feel like the circus animal (preferably lion lmao) that everyone comes to see at a state fair when I’m asked to talk about myself.

But if I am to introduce myself, this is what I’ll say.

1. My name is Ayoola -Ah-Yoh-Lah, which In the Yoruba tribe means the Joy of wealth. (I’d like to state ironically that I have been given this name while my bank account is in severe distress all most all the time Lol) but never the less, I try not to equate wealth with actual material things or assets (I’m talking to much at this point Lol)

2. I usually like to think I’m an old soul, considering that I’m fascinated by antiques, vintage things, from art to movies, to clothes, to music.

3. I’m socially awkward, which means that if I ever approach anyone to introduce myself, I would have probably rehearsed my intro speech over a million times in my head, and maybe in the restroom so I don’t sound stupid #epicfail ... most times.

4. If I wear two different socks at the same time, it usually means good luck to me ^_^

5. I struggle a great deal with perfection, and because I over think every little detail, I get scared and begin to procrastinate over any project.

6. If I get pissed off, all anyone has to do, is buy me some food, and I’m good again. No seriously .......... I’m a foodie like that.

7. I moved a lot as a kid into my adult age, which has made me fall in love with traveling.

8. If I had an opportunity to meet anyone alive or dead, it will forever be Anthony Bourdain ...RIP :(

MOMENTUM: beautiful and functional, it’s no surprise that this is the most popular new tab among studyblrs. perfect for a breath of fresh air every time you open a new tab. includes the time, weather, a to-do list, a motivational quote, a beautiful background landscape that changes every day, and a space to write your goal for the day.

LAGOM: even simpler than Momentum with its grayscale color scheme and the fact that it only features the time, date, weather, and search bar. although this doesn’t provide it a lot of material to work with, it keeps things fresh by changing up the design daily. this is ideal if you’re a true minimalist who doesn’t like an overwhelming new tab.

tab organization —

TOBY MINI: really useful widget for organizing and saving your open tabs. if you’re like me and you often get lost in the mire of tabs you have created, this is a game-changer. It’s basically like a bookmarking system, but more streamlined, easier to use, (cuter), and it closes a tab for you once you save it in a collection, thus decluttering your workspace! refer back to your collections of tabs by opening the widget from your toolbar, e z p z.

sticky notes & highlighters—

OURSTICKYS: i have literally always dreamed of sticky notes that stay static on a webpage and remain there even after closing the page and coming back to it later...so this extension is, quite literally, a dream come true. you can change the color of your sticky notes, the font, the size, and you can have as many as you want!! the widget will keep a record of all the pages you have stickies on, so don’t worry about losing your little buddies. god i love sticky notes.

STICKY NOTES: since i love sticky notes, i use two different sticky notes extensions! but the difference is that this is basically functions as an open notebook. surf through as many pages as you like and write down notes in the same place without having to navigate to a different webpage. this little widget will be your constant companion. tbh this extension demonstrates more consistency and trustworthiness than any boy i’ve ever dated.

LUMIO: an total game-changer. an absolute baller. fuckin superb. this is the highlight extension to end all other highlight extensions. highlight your phrase in question, and the yellow Lumio icon conveniently pops up beside your selection. once you click that, your highlight is saved to the Lumio widget. this will also display all the other highlights you make on that page in one place, as well as giving you the option to add notes to a highlight or save it to a collection. uh, yeah, Lumio is that bitch.

SUPER SIMPLE HIGHLIGHTER: however Lumio has one fatal flaw...you can’t change the color of the highlights on a webpage. in the case that you highlight for the visual contrast, i recommend the Super Simple Highlighter. just as the name suggests, highlight your chosen phrase, right-click, and select the color you would like to highlight it. it will remember the highlights you have made on a certain webpage and keeps them easily accessible in the widget every time you’re on that page, so...yes I concede, Super Simple Highlighter is also that bitch.

pdf annotation —

KAMI: e s s e n t i a l if you ever have to interact with pdfs. with kami, you can view, annotate, highlight, sign, and save pdfs to your google drive! I’ve found that it’s better than other pdf annotating extensions because it can read scans, which are notoriously difficult to interact with digitally, and it lets me search terms and highlight on them. basically, kami is a pdf conquerer.

timers & website blockers —

FOREST: although i didn’t believe in Forest at first, it eventually grew on me (cue drum kit). this is funny because Forest encourages you to focus on the task at hand for a specific amount of time by growing a little tree. a little tree that will die if you wander on to a site on the blacklist (in whitelist mode, it will die if you wander off the sites on the whitelist), thus metaphorically killing your focus. I personally use Forest because guilt tripping tends to work on me and I also think that little tree is soo cute!!

STAYFOCUSD: if positive reinforcement a.k.a guilt tripping isn’t enough to enforce some self control, I highly recommend StayFocusd. put any website you tend to waste time on, from a specific page to an entire domain, on your blacklist and set an allotted time per day. once that time is up, that sucker is blocked until your chosen reset time (midnight is default). there’s even an option to make you do a puzzle before you can access your settings, in case you are easily tempted to change them!

NOISLI: creates ambient noise for your study session needs. whether you like the ambience of a crowded cafe, rainy weather, a crackling fire, a rumbling train, or a specific combination of all of the above, Noisli does the job well. it offers sixteen different ambient settings to choose from, so have fun creating your own mixes (which you can save and listen to again and again, of course). 

research & writing —

GOOGLE SCHOLAR: everybody searches for sources on google scholar at some point, so make it easier by condensing the webpage into a nice little pop-up widget! makes it super easy to search google scholar without leaving the webpage you’re currently on.

CITE THIS FOR ME: as someone who hates citing her own sources, a bibliography extension is kind of a necessity for me. it kinda sucks that you have to make an account and enable ads in order to save your sources on this one, but it does work better and is less frustrating than other bibliography extensions out there (however it’ll still try to trick you into paying for a subscription—just close the tab folks!!)

ONE NOTE WEB CLIPPER: if you use Microsoft One Note (which you should b/c One Note is the bomb), this is a great way to save information from webpages into a One Note document without interrupting your research flow. you can save entire webpages/pdfs, or specific screenshots of a page, or just the link—all from a nice little pop up window on your toolbar. how lovely. how streamlined.

POWER THESAURUS: highlight a word, click the little blue button that pops up next to it, et voilà, you have all the synonyms and antonyms of the word you could ever ask for!

READING LIST: if you’re anything like me and you constantly stumble upon tons of articles that seem infinitely more interesting than what you’re supposed to be researching and then you end up going down the rabbit hole of whatever that’s about, consider Reading List! resist the temptation to procrastinate with another article by simply saving it for later with one click. more often than not, you’ll realize it wasn’t as interesting as it first seemed once you go back to actually read it. you’ll be glad you didn’t waste your time in the moment.

Before I met this one person, I never knew that I was leading a shit life; and that's a cold hard fact. Going by the nickname, prasati, which gives you an idea about my weirdo best friend, this person is my fellow conqueror, my life coach, a homie and a bunch of other things all rolled into one. She’s always eager to talk about everything ranging from fangirling over charlie puth, talking about how big vani’s (my other homie) booty is, to success, conquering life and leaving a mark in this world.

In these interviews, i’ll cover questions that do not relate to my friend’s booty (well, i can if you want tho, #noshame) but will and should motivate you to get out of your comfort zones, live a better life and becoming a conqueror.

In interview one, i’m covering random questions about success and my froind prasati gives you the answers to them. Keep reading, ish is about to get real here!

Q1) what is your mantra for living life?

my mantra is simple. "Be fearless in the pursuit of that which sets your soul on fire". That's my approach towards life. This mantra applies to everything in my life. No matter what happens, and where my life is headed to, whether I'm in a problem or dying because bunnies are after me, I repeat this one sentence and it helps bring me back to reality and remind me that life has a greater meaning. I have things to say, to do, and to become. I can't let my weaknesses conquer over me. So, I get right back up and become fearless in following my passions.

cheat code: find a mantra that has an actual value to you. Find a mantra that makes you a stronger and better person. A mantra that acts as a reminder that there is more to the world, more than moaning about how much your life sucks and throwing pity-parties.

Q2) what do you think most people in this world lack which keeps them away from success?

it's not one thing. it's actually 3 things. first and foremost, time. People don't realize the value of their time at all. We take our good health for granted until we fall sick. In the same way, we take our time for granted until it actually runs out, on a more serious note. Successful people really know the value of each and every moment. They use it to the very best. Once you realize the value of your life, you realize the value of your time and once you do that, suddenly you see the world from a new beginning.

Secondly, doubt. Doubt has created more mountains than anything else. People deny that they doubt themselves and say that they are confident, but in reality, 90% of everyone is doubtful they will ever be able to do anything. Stop doubting your dreams, and go for them now because as I said before, your time is running out and this is the moment to do it if you ever will.

Third is laziness. or procrastination, take it the way you like. successful people work harder than anyone else and they are ready to give their 100% for their work. More important than talent is hard work. It always ALWAYS pays back. Nothing worth having comes easily, but that's the point. It's worthy of having.

Q3) as a person who procrastinates, but still believes in herself and has finally understood the value of time, what advice would you give?

So you don't have doubts, that's crossed with. You know the value of your time so that's crossed off too. Laziness is the one that's left. I'll say this a 100 times, but there is no one way or trick to stop procrastinating and stop being lazy. That's just it. You can watch all the tutorials you want, but it won't help. The only thing that will get you moving is your WILLINGNESS to achieve those goals. It's a mental battle. You have to remind yourself every single morning, after every workout, even when your bones are tired and you're out of breath, that you’ve got to do this. Why? Because you want it. You have to WANT that dream badly enough that your body can't refuse it. I know, it doesn't sound helpful but as someone who has crossed that barrier of laziness, or at least is trying to, THIS is the secret. You just have to THROW yourself into it. You can't sit and wait and make plans, saying that I'll start tomorrow. IF YOU WANT THAT DREAM, If you want it as badly as you want to BREATHE, you'll go out and get it.

cheat code: if you want to live your dream life, you won't waste any more time and you’ll start NOW. stay persistent and commit.

Q4) how do you personally define success?

To me, success don't mean material things like money, luxury, or fame, those are just 'signs of success', so to say. When I say that I want to be successful it means achieving a goal I set for myself and worked my ass off for. It means becoming a better person that I was before. Success can't be defined in any one way in the same way that love can't. It can be felt, described, but it's just such a meaningful concept, it can't be limited to a simple definition. Success can mean so many different things to an individual. But to me, the best way to capture success is by saying that it's when you turn your dreams into a reality, and then turn that reality into something that seems like a fantasy, unreal, but a proof of everything you have lived for. Success is about loving life, daring to live it to the best, it's about making a difference in someone's life, inspiring, commitment, self-discipline, it's about SO MUCH.

cheat code: at the end of the day, success simply marks the end of a beautiful journey, and the start of yet another one. It's not the final destination, it's a sign, and an encouragement, to continue on the road and not stop, because whatever you're doing, you're doing it right.

Q5) what do you want your life to look like after you have achieved success?

Success is a long way to come. I'm a strong believer that the journey is way more important than the destination, so I don't bother thinking about the day I do become successful, I only focus on the experience, the grind, and the life I'm here to live. But when you become successful, don't forget the person you were before the world told you who you were. What that means is that don't lose yourself in arrogance or be someone you're not because that's what your career's success depends on. I believe that you should be original and the best version of yourself that you can possibly be too. Those who are meant to find and love you, will.

The person that I want to be when I successful doesn't have any limits to it. I don't tell myself that I want to look like this or that, my vision is that I just want to keep getting better and better at who and what I am. The day I leave this world, I want to become the person I always wanted to become. In a nutshell - I want to be my absolute best. 100%. Whatever I could have said and done, I did it and said it. But, if you want specific stuff, I want to be in the best shape. I want to fall in love with myself before I do with anyone else. I want to be so confident that no one can dare try breaking that confidence. I want to be unstoppable, invincible, believe in my dreams and chase them like hell. I want to hustle every single day, be hard-working, I want to have a persona and character that I feel comfortable with, I want to spread self-love, positivity, and motivation. So, to say, who do I want to be? A lot of things. But in simple words, the BEST version of myself.

cheat code: aim to be the best you could have been. And mind you, that best should not have limits either. Find a new best every day, a new goal every morning, find ways to become better and better because you couldn't possibly be perfect. But become as close to perfect as you know you can, because why not? Aim for excellence, not just success.

and that's a warp for this interview! i had to cut down lots bc my friend has this super amazing habit to keep on rambling for ages and ages (she is a total grandma, lmao). i hope you are getting something out of these, bc remember you have one life and once chance to become better. and it’s totally up to you. after reading this, you can change for the better or you can wash away these words outta your mind and remain the person you were. it’s your choice.

how i got a (superscore) 30 on the ACT:

hey y’all, i took the act in september of my senior year, and i receive a composite of a 29.

my breakdown:

English: 35

Math: 28

Reading: 30

Science: 23 (LMFAOOOOOOO)

—29: 93rd percentile

....as you can see, i’m not an expert at all at science. however, when i took the act in june, i received a 25 in science, bringing my superscore to a 30.

i use my superscore as my actual ACT score because not only do all of the colleges i am applying to either superscore or look at the highest of each of the individual sections that you report, along with your highest composite.

therefore, my superscore breakdown (with test dates):

English: 35 (09/2018)

Math: 28 (09/2018)

Reading: 30 (09/2018)

Science: 25 (06/2018)

—30: 95th percentile

English/Writing: 33 (09/2018-04/2018) -[10 writing/35 english]

step 1:

1. HAVE A GOAL

- my goal was to at least reach a 30, either composite wise or superscore wise.

- (this is specifically geared toward seniors trying to raise their points during the crucial time that they have left in attempting to take the test): look at the 25th to 75th percentile of scores of the class of 2022 at your #1 university or dream school.

- personally, most of my top/dream schools have their 25th percentile to 75th percentile admitted score range at a 31/32-34/35

- let me preface this: if you are NOT a stem or business major (specifically at top schools, but also in general), you DO not need to score at a 32+ on the ACT; if you want a 34 on the ACT but your dream school’s accepted 25th-75th range is below a 28, you are not spending your time wisely.

- if you are not an underrepresented minority (urm) and not first-gen, especially applying to a top school or a top engineering/stem program at a school, your test scores will be weighted more heavily because of more access to resources.

- if you are a urm and a first-generation college student, your scores do matter, yes, but not as much as you think they do. personally, being an urm and a first-gen college student, i knew that my scores had to pass a certain threshold but they don’t have to be necessarily perfect; because of this, i spent more time working on my extracurriculars and school, rather than the ACT. however, i raised my reading score 7 points in 1 week, raised my english score 3 points in 2 weeks (while scoring in the 99th percentile), and kept my math score constant at a 28. im not going to go much into science because that is NOT my strong suit.

2. After you have a goal score: looking at dream schools, the 25th-75th percentiles of those dream schools, figuring out how your “hooks” (URM, first-gen, low-income, etc.), and finding your place, it’s time to reflect.

3. Reflect: Have you challenged yourself as much as possible throughout high school?

- if you have been taking challenging honors/AP courses in stem/english/history, you already have a really good basis.

- also, maybe a low test score can compensate for your gpa.

- personally, my unweighted GPA is about a 3.9/4.0; with a 30 on the act, and my hooks, i am virtually competitive for many, many schools. also, i’m not applying to any stem or business programs.

- do you have an average/low gpa and haven’t taken a challenging course load? maybe your act score will weigh more.

4. PRACTICE TESTS:

- to raise your score as much as possible ... you don’t even need to spend money.

- unless this is your first time ever taking the ACT, buy the prep book for under $40.

- however, you can virtually spend nothing. all you need is 6 practice tests from off the act website, printed.

- take your first practice test; score it

- now .... review EVERY question you got wrong or were unsure or even if you got it right.

- for english specifically, i got 74/75 correct because i literally practiced.

- as you can see, i got a 26 in english 1 year ago, and gradually over a year, i raised it to a 35.

- now, that was a year of work... if you only have 2-3 weeks, how do you raise it?

- USE KHAN ACADEMY WRITING QUIZZES!!!

- literally all grammar rules are on khan academy omg

- keep practicing english; english and reading are the two things people should be able to score a 30+ in.

- i’m personally a slow reader, which is why i only scored a 30...i literally ran out of time LMAO

- for reading: if you are scoring in the low 20s like i was a year ago, my first advice is: BE CONFIDENT

- start reading novels of your choice .. literally anything and for fun

- during the test, i personally don’t annotate bc i run out of time ... however you need to find a strategy that works for you

- i read the passage in full, go to the questions i answer first, and go back and forth till i find each right answer. i never leave a passage until i’m sure 8 or 9 of them are surely right and present in the passage.

5. Math

- it’s possible, but it’ll be hard to do well in math if you haven’t challenged yourself in hard math courses. to get a 26+ in math, you would need to know up to algebra 2 concepts

- to get a 28+, trig concepts

- getting a 30+ in math is around 50/60 correct, meaning that you should know most, if not all math concepts with advanced depth in understanding

- for math act practice tests online, there are youtube videos that review EACH question and the right answer; those are super helpful.

- then, just keep practicing: the more you get used to the types of act math problems and how they are asked, the quicker you are to be able to score better on the math section

6. Don’t procrastinate but also don’t overdo it

- my issue with testing is anxiety

- i am no expert on tests; i barely made the 30/36 mark, but the reason why this was my best tests, i raised my composite to a superscore of 7 points more within a year, is because i used my time wisely.

- to raise your score as much as possible, give yourself 3-4 weeks before the ACT to prepare

- first: gather all materials (printed practice tests, online resources links [e.g. math video review, khan academy english practice, crackact.com, enjoyable yet complex novels], pencils, calculator, etc.)

- second: take your first practice test on saturday or sunday & score it (take under testing timed conditions

- review your practice test by section during the school week, and do extra practice from resources online

- review practice test in full one last time

- REPEAT
