Okay so I was thinking of the Chosen One Support group and how Link and Aang are there and then Bilbo. And I suddenly thought about how Bilbo’s story is honestly the one that stays the same. Everything else changed.

Fate itself saw her Chosen, her beautiful Chosen, with their harsh lives who have so much taken from them, and decided no more. Decided to give them help.

Bilbo who speaks of his adventure, Aang and Link listening. Cloud, Harry, Percy, Izuku, Tsuna, Shepard, Hawke, Katniss, Mahariel, Lavellan, all of these people hear the stories of those who had their lives break decided they would do better. Harry who hears of how a saviour may not always be a saviour, hears of a kindly old man figure from Tsuna, is sharp eyed and ready when Dumbledore comes. Lavellan teaching the ways of the woods to a hungry Naruto. Bilbo with a kind word and a heavy heart encourages loves to bloom when they may keep secret otherwise. Who cries upon learning what his ring is. Who has Frodo appear and decide no himself?

Fate welcomes its chosen and loves them. They let them help themselves

Fate in a lot of ways has her hands tied. She loves her chosen, adores them and cares for them like any mother should, but she cannot save them. The things that they will do need to happen. It is written in the stars, it is written in her being, it is written in the fabrics of each and every one of their realities. With each and every one of them a part of her shatters a little.

So she does all she can do.

She gives them each other.

She cannot save them but in time they can save each other. Can help each other stand tall when the time comes for them to prove themselves. Can make sure that even if the end has to happen that the beginning and middle don’t need to be so terrible as they could be.

Aaaaa thank you darling!! Gonna try and include a variety of fandoms I've written for over the years

Something Old, Something New Percy/Vex wedding fic feat. Syldor (back when his name was spelled with an i)! This got superseded by canon in multiple ways, but I really feel like I nailed the dynamic between Vex and her father and I'm still really happy with how this turned out.

In Our Bedroom After the War Terra/Aqua post-Kingdom Hearts 3. Written for a Terraqua Fanzine, I think that this might be some of my best prose. I still love how this turned out, and it's my headcanon for Post-KH3 Terra and Aqua.

Hiding in Plain Sight Jodie/Shuuichi Detective Conan casefic. I think that I managed to write a credible murder mystery here, and it was really fun to explore the multiple clandestine angles in this one.

Worldgating Jane Foster/Thor, this was my fusion fic with the Young Wizards universe and my love letter to Jane Foster. I'm still delighted with some of the twists on both canons that I managed with this story.

The Day the World Ended Solas/Lavellan, unfinished and tragically to probably remain so, but it's still 60k of slowburn time travel fic. I really love the beginning/first act of this and think it has some excellent momentum. It was once I got to the middle of the fic that I got bogged down and didn't know where I was going.

My DA Canon Worldstate family trees #3- The Trevelyan family tree (Ostwick branch)

Part 3 of my Dragon Age protagonists family tree series, this time it’s the last of the canon protagonists families (until Dreadwolf arrives), the Inquisitor herself, Anya Trevelyan.

This isn’t the last of the family trees, oh no, I’ve got a few non canon protagonists to do, especially since in my Worldstate they all still exist.

Anyway I really enjoyed doing the Trevelyan family tree because whilst I miss the origins set up in DAO, DAI offers the most freedom out of the three games in terms of imagining your protagonist’s family. More information is under the cut.

Explanations:

I actually made most of my Inquisitor’s family this time in the game because I was making my second l non canon Trevelyan play through, Bertrand Trevelyan, Anya’s oldest brother, and thought sod it, I’ll make the rest of The Trevelyan’s before I make him.

Anya is the youngest of 7. There are 15 years between Bertrand and Anya.

Percival (Percy) and Bertrand Trevelyan are two of my non canon Inquisitors BUT I headcanon those two brothers actively join the Inquisition in my canon play through at various points in the game, showing support for their little sister in her role as Inquisitor.

Frederick Trevelyan was married before he married Sophia, but his wife died of a sickness two years into the marriage.

The Trevelyan siblings are half Orlesian, but they’ve never been to Orlais because their mother refuses to take them as she doesn’t get on with her mother and sister, in fact she pretty much denounces her Orlesian heritage.

The Du Beaufort family added the Du to Beaufort to make their surname sound even more Orlesian.

Sophia Trevelyan actually changed her name from Sophie to Sophia when she ran away from Orlais and married Bann Frederick Trevelyan.

Geneviéve Du Beaufort, the Trevelyan’s cousin, actually looks eerily similar to my non-canon Lavellan Inquisitor, Thalia. There is a reason for this, a family secret that her mother and grandmother are determined to keep from everyone. Geneviéve is elf blooded. Her father is Thalia’s father, Thalia is Geneviéve’s half sister.

Geneviéve actually also jumps ship from Orlais to Ferelden and Skyhold some time in the years between Corypheus’ defeat and the Exalted Council because she has been biding her time for years to escape her entitled her mother and grandmother. She goes by Trevelyan after that, (after asking permission from her aunt’s family of course)

I head canon that the romances in the non canon playthroughs still happen in my Worldstate, mainly because Dorian and Iron Bull didn’t get together in my canon play through so I head canon that Percy and Dorian met on the journey to Skyhold, and grew close, marrying in secret sometime before the Exalted Council and because Bertrand will be romancing Cassandra when I get round to it, Bertrand met Cassandra when he joined after Orlais.

Anya and Cullen of course, being my canon romance, get married in the exalted council.

I do have a fic in the planning about whether or not they manage to get away with the whole spontaneous marriage thing with Anya’s family but it may be a while before I write it.

Okay so for the Chosen One Support group we have: Bilbo, Cloud, Dean, Sam, Cas, Katniss, Roy, Ed, Alphonse, Hawke, the Warden, Inquisitor Lavellan, Shepard, Komodo siblings, Hellboy, Aang, Izuku, Anakin, Harry, Percy, Naruto and Lloyd.

I am very invested in this lore and have to know who the first few in the group was.

Anyway

The lore is all pretty flexible as there’s a million universes and possibilities for groups but for the “main” one it’s probably something like:

Like first arrived? It would probably be the ones out of time. Link and Aang were probably either there before their exceedingly long naps and reappeared after waking OR were always there and served as a sort of welcoming committee/please stop screaming we know it’s weird crew as the others arrived. The older ones would be next with Bilbo being among them as he sort of tripped his way into being Chosen. Then as they time goes by more and more kids keep showing up in ones and twos younger and younger as they go. Harry and Naruto are the youngest as they were infants/not even born yet when chosen

First first was probably Link as he’s like twenty in the botw timeline before he god put in a vat for a century but Aang wasn’t far behind

tl;dr: percy was originally a city elf from ferelden. when the blight hit, she and her father fled to kirkwall. when it became obvious she was not only a mage but a Dreamer, her father smuggled her out of kirkwall and brought her to clan lavellan. she loves her clan and loves being First. they send her to spy on the conclave and the rest is the plot of inquisition. companion variation: everything's the same except she's not from clan lavellan and she's sent to investigate the inquisition, not the conclave. she still ends up joining because of how high the stakes are

percy spent the early years of her life in the highever alienage. her parents had an arranged marriage that never grew into love; when she was only six, her mother disappeared one night, off to find the dalish. they never heard from her again, so her father remarried.

she and her stepmother never got along. percy was a strange girl, in turns withdrawn and boisterous. she interrupted; she forgot to do chores; she learned to read from the hahren and buried her nose into whatever scraps of writing she could get her hands on. there were early signs that she might be a mage, but nothing concrete enough to call the templars—not concrete enough for her father, at least, who was terrified at the thought of losing his daughter.

it was that fear that drove him to flee highever when word of the blight reached their ears. a cousin in kirkwall took them in; they were as lucky as refugees could be.

percy's time in kirkwall was plagued by nightmares. she'd always had vivid dreams, but these were darker than before and grew darker with time. after a year and a half, it was impossible for her father to deny the truth any longer. the strange dalish woman who now lived in the alienage with them confirmed: percy was a mage. worse: percy was a dreamer. somniari. the gallows would be too dangerous for her. so against the will of his wife, percy's father smuggled her out of the city—with or without hawke's help—and went in search of a dalish clan (sabrae, who had already taken feynriel in, could not accommodate another dreamer).

rumors led them to lavellan, who agreed to take the girl in. not quite fourteen, she was afraid of leaving her father. but he wasn't cut out for the dalish life, and he knew it; he told percy to be brave, and clever, and left her in deshanna's care. away from kirkwall, percy's nightmares eased somewhat, and she found she enjoyed life with the clan. the traditions, the old stories, magic not as something to fear but something to be proud of—it suited her. she still felt unworthy of the title of first, but most of the clan found her a more than acceptable successor for their keeper.

when deshanna heard about the conclave, it was easy to choose who she wanted to send as a spy: though percy had her vallaslin now, she was the most familiar with humans and city elves thanks to her childhood. so she sailed back across the waking sea to a country she hadn't seen in over a decade. she remembers arriving, and then... nothing. she wakes in chains with a magical mark on her hand, accused of killing the divine and told she's the only person capable of saving the world.

percy was taken in by either lavellan or another clan (depending on plotting). she wasn't sent to spy on the conclave, but was told to investigate the newly-formed inquisition. convinced of the severity of the threat the organization opposes, she writes back to her keeper that she's remaining with the inquisition. she offers her services as a dalish mage and Dreamer to the inquisitor.
