Relationship status:  To Cameron, “its complicated.”. To Donnie, Cameron is “a work.. friend.”

I suppose you could call them “lab partners” for now.

Cameron and Donnie, despite working together in their labs, seem to have their own rivalry. They work together through video calls, where Cameron’s knowledge of biology and Donnie’s tech are paired together for many experiments. Despite their rivalry, Cameron tries to stay nice.. regarding his small crush on his lab partner. Donnie denies his own feelings, until their experiment works and presents them with a child that they have to raise together. The baby, sharing both softshell and dwarf caiman features, ends up bringing them closer together. Once they get over their immature rivalry, they do figure out their relationship status: “awesome scientist boyfriends”, as officially dubbed by Mikey.
